Nasty! Do not waste your time going here. Horrible place. First room and built up dirt on both remote controls. None of the jacuzzi on the hotel works. AC was broken. Second room someone’s hair on the tile. Mold smell, finally checked out after going to the pool and it was closed for a wedding with no notice. The health department needs to visit this place soon.

Someone else’s false eyelashes were stuck to our bathroom wall. Asked if they could clean the room a little more. Was told it’s limited service. Obviously… enough said.

The rooms were nothing like it did on the internet. We changed our rooms like 3 times due to the rooms having a bad smell & not being clean. I was truly disappointed on my stay.

We booked this hotel for our honeymoon as we have never been to Miami before, and this was an affordable option. No resort fees and pictures made it LOOK great. We spent $1, 300 on Travelocity and booked this solely on the fact that the pictures looked amazing. We overlooked the bad reviews. Fast forward 2 weeks later, a 3 hour flight and a 45 minute drive from the airport to find out the bad reviews were in fact, correct. The hotel is outdated, it smells, our room looked like it had not been cleaned in weeks. The bed had stains, the toilet barely flushed, the curtains and lamp shades were stained, had tons of dust, the TV had 4 channels. 3 of which were either spanish or fuzzy. The hot tub didnt work. We went out on the patio to find a view of garbage. Not to mention the maintenance man busted into our room and just swung the door open. What if I had been changing? I was very disappointed that we booked our entire trip around the quality of the photos online with high hopes that the hotel would deliver. Seemed like a bait and switch tactic. After not even 10 minutes in the room, my husband and I decided we were not staying there. The ONLY positive is the manager Greg was very understanding, he didn't hesitate to give me a full refund. He deserves a raise and the company needs to reevaluate some things. We ended up taking our refund and going to Trump International Resort in Sunny Isles. That Resort completely saved our honeymoon.

This place is wonderful. I was feeling down because my flight had to be rebooked and this place’s atmosphere definitely helped hype my vibes!

Very gorgeous hotel, great atmosphere, very friendly, clean, I wish the restaurant was open during my stay but its ok they did their best during the after-covid situation and made for a great friendly stay, gorgeous clean pool and rooftop, nice big rooms and bathrooms, cool outdoor rooftop pool bar, wish that area stood open past 8pm but all good.

The rooftop always has good music, good food and great Drinks! The ambience is very romantic, great for a first date! ❤❤❤

I treated my husband to a spa and stay at the Mayfair for his birthday and he truly loved it! The Spa time was excellent and the Mayfair kitchen was superb. This is my second time coming to this hotel and I will definitely be back for sure for more spa treatments. Thank You ♥️♥️

From the minute I checked in, I enjoyed the ambience, from the fountains and beautiful trees in the courtyard to the amazing decor in the rooms, very well designed by the architect! Valet services and parking were helpful, construction across the street was a bit loud but other than that, loved my stay here!

Yes, I recommend the Mayfair at Coconut Grove! The view from the rooftop is incredible, their happy hour is fantastic; the new sales manager, Wendy Zane, is outstanding.

DONT BRING YOUR FAMILY HERE! Worst hotel establishment in the area! I was charged different prices, every night of the reservation for the wedding I was there to visit. The jacuzzi hasn’t worked in over a decade and is just a liability on the back porch. I would have MUCH RATHER enjoyed free space on the balcony instead of a broken jacuzzi. The room service was sub par (understatement). The closet was so small, you couldn’t even hang clothes inside of it. The mini fridge was never stocked and even after 2 days of alerting the front desk, I had no one want to come and fill it for me, for some reason, The restaurant in the bottom of the hotel, refuses to serve guests and they act like a chore to have customers (obviously want no tip). The hotel staff will reach out to you throughout your stay but WONT solve any issues that are addressed. Even though they begged for a review for months after my stay. So here we are, 2 months after my stay and 4 different people asking about how things were with the same response (wow, we will have a person of management reach out to you immediately before you review) … well here’s the God Honest.

Garbage hotel, sketchy operations staff. I was already annoyed about the mediocre room and the mediocre breakfast. When I was charged for items from the honor bar that I hadn't taken, that's when I realized that this place is a complete cesspool. Someone ought to level this dump to the ground and make it into a parking lot.

Absolute amazing hotel especially for the price! The staff was super informative and very professional.

Went down for a continental breakfast, nothing special, fruit, toast and some ham. To be honest one of the weakest I’ve ever seen. Then the waitress brings me a bill for what is normally a free breakfast, $46. This included a pre added tip of 18 percent for bringing us a glass of water. I refused to pay this.

Great hotel! Close to shopping and restaurants. It was nice a little outside of the craziness of South Beach. Easy Uber or Lyft ride there (1/2 hour). Great room service, excellent bar and food. Loved the pool as well! Would stay here again!

The first time I stayed at the Mayfair about 3 years ago the service was excellent. However, this past weekend I stayed for a wedding and my stay was simply unacceptable. Everyone that stayed felt the same way. When you arrive you are greeted by a sarcastic, female concierge — these employees obviously don’t understand their job. The hotel charges you for everything and they don’t include breakfast, which I’m okay with. What irritates me is the staffs lack of professionalism. Please consider a reputable hotel like the Ritz or Four Seasons for a similar price tag. Mayfair, please spend less money on over seasoned food and more on waitstaff training.

Great location and value. I've had nothing but pleasant experiences here! I'm in the area frequently for work and always try to stay with the Mayfair. They saved me once in a housing emergency, and were able to accommodate a last-minute request for a client. Excellent service!

We attended a wedding. The hotel is beautiful. The architecture was gorgeous, with the high ceilings, some covered (which was good because it rained) and some open. The ceremony was in one of the covered courtyards. It did get quite hot out, which is to be expected in Florida. But the acoustics were wonderful and it was beautiful. The staff guided us to the indoor location for cocktail hour. It was roomy with enough wall seating for those who wanted to sit. They were pleasant as they brought the snacks (the first wedding we've been to with arepas). When time for the reception came, they dimmed the lights and kindly asked guests to transition to the ballroom. The ballroom was beautifully decorated, with two built in bars at either side. The food was wonderful. We both had the steak, which was perfectly pink in the middle, and tender enough to cut with the provided butter knife. This was also the first wedding we attended that guests asked for seconds on the cake… It was that good. Parking was easy, and the staff all were acomodating.

Great value for money. Large rooms, impeccable cleanliness and good location to visit the city. The hotel has a retro charm, despite having the comforts of our days.

The secret rooftop patio bar and grill is open to non-guests and is a hidden gem! Food is reasonably priced and very good. You have to request a pool deck key from the front desk. Only one elevator gets you to the roof so choose carefully. View is decent and it's never crowded.

I don’t usually do this… bad reviews are not my thing but I have to. First of all I didn’t get the room that I paid for unfortunately I noticed that too late. When I did the check-in the guy told me I had breakfast included, 2 days after I go to get breakfast and the waitress asked me for a voucher so I went to the front desk and an extremely rude lady which didn’t even said good morning back. Said I had nothing included. The bathroom had a funny smell. Couldn’t wear the bathrobe because there was makeup and hair on it. On top of that… the last night I stepped on a cockroach by the bed. HORRIBLE! It is not a cheap place I suggest you take your money somewhere else. I do not recommend this place!

Stayed there a few days for my nieces wedding. Pluses, amazing open interior architecture and atrium, roof top pool with bar, lounge chairs,, and some (paid) cabanas. We attended a cocktail hour in one of the banquet rooms which was nice. Within walking distance of area shops and some restaurants. However, rooms were dated and floors were dirty. Many (all? ) have a hot tub on a porch but sliders hard to open, and a one time $30 fee to use it! Snacks and drinks in room are available, but all are very expensive to eat. Breakfast buffet was $18 for a basic selection of greek yogurt, bagels, fruits, etc. Seated breakfasts were good, but $18 and up. If you speak Spanish, you're fine, if not, good luck on asking why your room wasn't clean by 4 PM! Check you final bill for food charges! We were for candy bars we didn't eat, but ultimately got a credit.

Well as I arrived at hotel everything looked ok checked into the room the elevator was hot no air felt like u could not breathe. Open the door to the room it had a bad smell like mildew looked on the walls and ceilings and ther it was mildew. Asked for two queen beds they look like to full beds. No ice machines n the hotel had to call front desk one time they took over an hr to bring ice and the next time front desk wouldn't even answer the phone. Then they had a jaccuiz in the room but u had to pay 30 dollar one time fee just for that wen u already paid for the room. The pool was nice it was on the roof only 4ft tho open till 11 on fri and sat that was good but closed at 8 PM on Sunday didnt know that came to the roof and the maintenance man said u can get n the pool got ready to get n the guy working the bar said no the pool is closed most pools close at 10 PM not 8pm they had lil section of the pool roped off wit chairs you had to pay for but u paid to stay at the hotel u couldn't even stand n side to take pictures of the sunset. They wont u to pay for everything at this hotel if and I go back to Miami I will not stay at the mayfair of coconut grove.

So comfortable hotel with big and spacious rooms. Timely service from kind and polite staff members. Also included with huge pool and gym. Food was yummy and liked the super-serving from welcoming staff. Moreover, bushland views from the balcony which is never forgettable.

Great location in Coconut Grove, however the hotel is a bit old, the rooms deserved to be refreshed, for this price range the cleanliness leaves to be desired and no free parking so value for money really very mediocre. I would not really recommend this establishment.

Cute place, fairly decent location, however breakfast for my wife and I cost $54. Food was very poor, wait staff doesn't know how to communicate with cooking staff. Our breakfast came out all wrong. The items in the room overly priced. The hotel itself could have a wonderful atmosphere if it was brought into the 21st Century. The grout in the floor tile hasn't been cleaned in years, the room is dusty, the fan on the patio ceiling is about to come off. It's shameful that the owners can't take some of the over priced room $$$ and do some improvements. Don't expect a senior or Verterns discount because it's non-exisitant. My wife and I will not return…

Old fashioned hotel. Who had his hour of glory in the years 1990…
Located right in the heart of Coco nut grove, the problem of parking is to be seriously considered. Nearby paying garages offer an alternative (. Small budget. Abstain! ) Some very nice suites do not save alas, the image of the establishment… Some rooms and terraces are dirty, and the adjoining Jacuzzi is doubtful…
The reception from the arrival is unthinkable. The staff indifferent to your baggage difficulties discusses. No trolley close, you have to go to the reception. And the hostesses are hardly more amiable… When they are not aggressive. A peak!
As for breakfast… No buffet, everything is a la carte and the rates are substantial. The very dark setting does not encourage relaxation.
A positive point… all the same!, the rooftop pool, very nice with its bar, and where you can nibble at lunchtime, and drink good cocktails in the evening.
The Mayfair is a hotel that I would not recommend, except in case of force majeure. Or as a stopover for a tour of Florida!

This reminds me of a hotel in the Era of the Cocaine cowboys, It's still has the eighties feel but very elegant and remodeled, this is a gem in the heart of coconut Grove and is definitely a beautiful resort with nice staff, John however at the front desk is rude and is very tricky you can't always listen to what he says and every time you call he told you this lie of a story and put you on hold I saw him do it 3 times in 3 days and 2 × 2 me. Apart from that if you have a Jacuzzi in the room the better tell you that if you wanna use it it's $35 charge per hour and that you need to call someone to be able to activate it other than that you have an overflooded Jacuzzi that does not work and does not get cold and then they will accuse you a breaking it, Highly recommended place for a definite beautiful getaway.

This was my second time staying at this location. We were staying here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Specifically requested the room with the private Japanese soaking tub. When we went to use it, the tub would not turn off, the tub started to overflow. Called guest service was offered to switch room but room was not switched. No apology, no concern, no caring, no follow up – did receive refund for tub, but a highly anticipated moment was ruined.

If you were still in the 70’s and 80’s, the hotel would be amazing. It is still nice but very outdated. Rooms just felt and looked old. Disappointed that on a Saturday night, the rooftop bar closed at 11pm. We went up with a large party at 5 Minutes to 11 and although we were primed to give them a lot of business, they were closing down. It was a Saturday and very nice evening. Bad business decision to close like that so early. The hotel needs to be updated. If you have to pay full price (in the $300 range), don’t. Plenty of 1/2 price rooms available on line which make the stay more palatable. Also, very surprised after 20 years to see that the Cocowalk area is a shell of its former self. What happened to the Grove?

Lying staff, jacuzzi was messed up. Never got hot, and the water only came out in one nozzle, so when the water hit the other side of the jacuzzi it splashed and wet the floor, so it was a danger zone. The closet rod was broken, the fridge wasn't even cold. We complained about all the issues and no 1 fixed anything. Security and valet was nice but other than that, service was horrible… oh and in the kitchen the ribs were bland. The salmon and pork was on point, it was nice. So many people were complaining about the hotel the same time I was. Don't get room 545

Stay away! Was put in a room that I did Not request. I didn't get the suite I paid for until the last nighf! Horrible service, very expensive, for nothing pictures on website over rated. A security guard brings ice when needed it was not covered. Never seen anything like it. Over $300 a night stayed from Friday — Monday. Rooms were not clean it felt very cold, not cozy tile need to be cleaned! The balcony is laced with vines can't see out, some balconies facing a wall no views! Parking $30 a day. You have to pay extra for everything, computer& cabanas, etc. Need to be Remodeled immediately! 1 star for you guys Overated! Very disappointing! If I can give you 0 I would!

Front staff was excellent and attentive. Pedro our morning server at the small buffet was amazing. Bartenders and server at the pool were very good. Rooms were very clean and cozy. The reason for the 4 stars not 5 is because we had to change room twice due to safety concerns with a sliding door, then we were downgraded to a cheaper room then we got a room but it wasnt the view I paid for.

Beautiful place with huge and very comfortable rooms. It is a place that combines a romantic and family atmosphere. Open spaces with a lot of contemporary art. Located in a very chic neighborhood. I loved the experience. The best price-quality ratio. The attention was first. Recommended 100%.

We had booked a room at the Mayfair Hotel for a week via a travel agent. It should be a luxury hotel.
Unfortunately, all inquiries prior to the booking (cot, etc. ) were not answered by the hotel. This should not be the case with a luxury hotel.
At the Mayfair hotel, however, there is no sense of luxury. The room we got on the first night was dark and humid, it smelled of mildew. Furthermore the room was very comfortable, the furniture was broken, the tiles in the bathroom dropped from the walls, etc.
Could not ventilate in this room either, draught was not possible.
The front desk inquired about this evening by SMS if everything is OK, we described the above-mentioned circumstances. Also, we shared the reception with the room its price is not in the least value. We were then promised a room change for the following morning.
This room change also took place and we got a room where we felt better, which is also far away from luxury. The air was better, the room also brighter. But this room also had some shortcomings: — room was not cleaned in one day, despite demand, on the balcony was still a crisps from the predecessor, which was also ignored every day and was not removed — exhaust air in the bathroom did not work, therefore moist air in the GAN Zen Room — Minibar is in the wardrobe and connected to the same circuit as the light in the wardrobe.

A little pricey for an ok hotel. But overall had no problems. Shower is really difficult to get into, so I wouldn't recommend that to people who have trouble getting in/out of tubs.

This was a great weekend stay. The staff was helpful with a problem I had, and I 'd love to come back again some time. The only thing I didn't like was the maid walking in when I was taking a shower, but that's okay. She didn't know.

Very nice hotel. Overall excellent quality. Top marks for staff, cleanliness, and room quality. Some minor details that keep this from a 5 star are: No reception + Weak Wi-Fi signal Pillows too soft (no support) No mini fridge Still an incredible value. Would revisit in a heartbeat.

Don't get me wrong, it's a nice hotel. But considering the cost of a room, I expect much better. We had to call several times to get the hot tub setup which has no on/off control so it just runs 24/7. The sliding glass door is sketchy at best. Anytime we need anything from the front desk we have to call several times. Again, nice hotel, nice people, just expect better for the price.

Needs better room maintenance and parking is too expensive. I stayed in a junior suite and the first thing my wife and I checked was for cleanliness. Sheets were dirty with dark stains (had to have them changed), makeup, and had several small holes. Get rid of them! The bathrooms were dirty. There was mold in the shower and the toilet was filthy. I used paper towel and lysol to disinfect. The paper towel was dark with grime and pubic hair. The hotel has potential, but it needs to be thoroughly cleaned. I believe cleanliness is really important and I could not give this hotel a better rating.

Very unusual looking hotel in the centre of coconut grove, Miami. Suites have terraces with hot tubs. Pool on top floor looking over Miami open till late in the evening. Very friendly staff.

We stayed in an amazing suite. Guest and room service was absolutely perfect and fast. I would definitely stay again. It was close to many places to eat and parking across the street in the garage was cheap.

The hotel was once extraordinary. Pure luxury in the middle of a privileged area like Coconut Grove.
The rooms are awesome. They are huge suites well designed and pretty neat. I was surprised at how reasonable the prices of the minibar were. Not cheap but something reasonable. Especially considering the exorbitant price of the hotel.
In general the hotel a lack of some improvements to align with the times they run. It's been a little outdated.
The most troubling thing was not being able to find stairs between floors 3 up. We asked and the answer was that there was no. It didn't leave us very quiet.

My room was beautiful. Tv in restroom awesome. But my personal spa was out of order. Took maientannce 3 tries to fix it but manager Manuel did provide me w breakfast vouchers. Thank u very much. I will return. Room service awesome.

The parking is not free, the meals menu is only one, as far as the rooms and service good.

First time visiting the roof top bar. GO! Wonderful view. The bar tender s are super nice and provide great service and drinks. We left a bag at the bar and the bar tender walked to the restaurant to hand it to us. The is service.

Don't worry, it's not bad. What I liked the least is the regulation of the air, impossible not to throw cold.

Rooms had a moldy smell and the staff was less than helpful. The room was not as clean as I would expect and the soaking tub was moldy on the outside. The TV was fuzzy and the bathroom TV is hard to see from the tub. The good news is the internet was fast.

Seemed pretty fancy, nice quaint hotel tucked right into the city scape of coco walk. I saw a wedding party departure while I was there on a brief stay. Which made the place all the more elegant and cozy for me.

This hotel lost its charm years ago. We had the worse experience with them when they accepted a prepaid reservation just after the hurricane then when we got there they had a sign on the door saying they were closed even before I had paid. My family had no where to go! I was going to leave it at that after I got my refund from the booking site… BUT. Once again they clearly demonstrated NO RESPECT for our situation when they ignored my emails and calls when I simply wanted to speak with a manager. Funny enough my wife and I used to love this hotel since it was the first one we stayed in during our honeymoon. Never again!

I have never left a review before for anything but I had to let people know to NEVER stay here! It looks nothing like the pictures! We switched our room 4 times because the smell of mildew in the rooms are unbearable! All rooms were not clean at all! They all had dust and the furniture looks old and dirty. The bed sheets had holes all over! The patio view was a cement dirty wall and looked like a prison! I asked if they had any views like the ones online and they said no. So they falso advertise! I will never stay here again and I just want to prevent anyone else from having to stay in a dump. Especially when your on vacation! The only good thing I will say is that the front desk was very patient and understanding! Also the pool area is small and on the roof but it looks nice at night. Other than that this place was awful! Please don't waste your money! It is NOT what you see!

The hotel is located in the heart of Coconut Grove, right next to the Coco Walk, a small shopping arcade. In the vicinity there are several restaurants and pubs, which are priced all in the normal frame (for 2 people with a drink and 2 meals we have never paid more than $50, incl. Tipping). The entrance hall has a very own fragrance. My wife finds him well, I tend not so. Probably comes from the spa area. Upon check-in, an amount is deducted from the credit card as credit, which you will receive after your stay. But we were a little surprised. The staff was always nice and friendly.
The room and bathroom were clean and tidy. A safe is in the closet and can be used free of charge. There is a full refrigerator, a microwave, a coffee maker and also a hair dryer. Minibar and snacks are of course money. The bed is large and comfortable. There is only one blanket, but it is also so large that there are no problems with someone pulling the blanket off the other.
We did not use the balcony with its own whirlpool. The commissioning and the filling are only feasible by the hotel staff and are not free of charge.
The air conditioning was good and the room was adjusted to a comfortable temperature.
The "view" was not really available from our room on the top floor. There was a lot of vegetation, so you couldn't look at the underlying roof.

Com Booked a room on there and they had the best rates around… We were getting married in coconut grove so ourselves and our guest all stayed at the mayfair. The ENTIRE staff was so very welcoming and went above and beyond to accommodate us and everyone else. They were all extremely welcoming and made us feel so special. The Mayfair was One of the biggest factors of making our weekend unforgettable. The Mayfair it was a breathtaking experience if there's a better word to describe than perfect I would use it. I have nothing bad to say about the entire hotel and the entire stuff. It blew my mind. If I could relive the experience again I would do it 1 million times over.

These guys ruined our vacation! Our room was $1, 175 they charged an additional $750 on top of that. Any 5 star reviews you see are from the staff they get an additional bonus for good reviews. These guys are ridiculous. Thanks Mayfair hotel and spa for bring the worst hotel and spa in Miami!

Beautiful hotel in Coconut Grove. It's close to the Villa Vizcaya Musuem and Key Biscayne. The staff were extremely friendly and each room is a suite, so there is so much space. The rooms are lovely (I didn't want to leave mine), but there is so much to see and eat around that area. It's a nice hidden gem.

We were getting married in coconut grove so ourselves and our guest all stayed at the mayfair. The ENTIRE staff was so very welcoming and went above and beyond to accommodate us and everyone else. They were all extremely welcoming and made us feel so special. The Mayfair was One of the biggest factors of making our weekend unforgettable. The Mayfair it was a breathtaking experience if there's a better word to describe than perfect I would use it. I have nothing bad to say about the entire hotel and the entire stuff. It blew my mind. If I could relive the experience again I would do it 1 million times over.

Hotel is very nice, staff is nice but not very knowledgeable. You have. To ask for everything including ice and wine opener. Because I had to ask for a wonderful opener the associate ruined a wine bottle that I brought. Would stay again though, the soaker tub in the room had a 30 dollars one time fee.

My wife and I went here for our honeymoon. The staff treated us extremely well. We loved the room, and we felt like very valued customers. The room was great, and we loved the beautiful lobby and courtyard area! Would definitely recommend, 5/5

It was one of the worse hotel stays I have ever experienced. The website gives you many Photoshop pics and when you call they say welcome to the newly renovated hotel and spa but there is nothing new or renovated about the place. The phones in the room don't work. There is no other way to get ice but to call the front desk from a phone that doesn't work. When you do cal groom your cell phone you are lucky out someone answers the phone. Then they take 2 days to carry out your request if they even do it at all. I would not recommend anyone staying there. The front desk staff tell you no you are wrong instead of trying to accommodate you. You are better off staying at a motel 6 or super 8.

My favorite place to stay in Miami. Parking is ok or you can valet. Rooms are nice bed are comfortable bathrooms are big with tv. Balcony has a hot tub with privacy. Roof top pool and bar make for a wonderful view of the city. One of a kind that u must experience. This was my 2nd visit next time ima try the food.

Positioned in such a way that it can be a good landmark, close to the ocean and Coconut Grove, it sins in the cleanliness. It should be updated in fact of the quality of the rooms which are not exactly up to its 4 stars. Another sore note, the hotel offers absolutely nothing in the overnight, breakfast buffet but at a high price. Ditto for the staff, listless and seems vexed.

This is an awesome hotel the staff was amazing with the exception of Sugey who is rude and needs a class in customer service. The in house resturant was amazing. We ate breakfast there and it was the freshest breakfast I have ever had. We will be back very soon. The coconut grove area is simply beautiful. We were in an area where we walkednto everything. The only problem is we spent about $100 in parking that should be fixed for hotel guest parking in a garage that is connected to the hotel.

Can't really complain about the place. Great decor and really nice rooms. Their restaurant is overpriced but definitely really really good service! But I'll do holiday inn and pay extra for free complimentary breakfast. 4 of us staying we would have saved $10 each day with a free breakfast. But the hotel is spot on!

The hotel is clean and the staff is super friendly. When we got to the hotel, our room was upgraded complimentary! The pool at the rooftop was superb and highly maintained. The bar mixed the best drinks ever! Location is close to a lot of nightlife walking distance. The valet parking may be a bit high but theres plenty of parking available within the block. I would recommend this hotel to anyone!

Located in the midst of Coconut Grove, less than a block away from Cocowalk, this hotel has so much to offer! From the rooftop pool with an amazing view and full service bar, to Spartico the restaurant Dow stairs with amazing Italian food and clay oven pizzas! Not the mention the rooms are very modern and cozy!

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for our one year anniversary this past May. The hotel was ok but dated. The staff was slow and a bit unprofessional. We requested for our jacuzzi to be filled THREE times, and they still charged us $30 to fill it, it should have been free. The worse part was they opened the hotel up for a public pool party during our stay. There were loud, half naked people everywhere. We could not enjoy the rooftop pool at all during our stay. My husband was patted down and my bag was searched. We were even locked out of the hotel because too many people showed up for the party. Locked out of a hotel we paid for! TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. They ruined our anniversary.

Everything was so amazing! From the location right in coconut grove to the delicious dinner and fabulous japanese soaking tub my husband and I had 5th an amazing 5th wedding anniversary!

Room was clean — got one of the suites, which was a big plus. Staff were friendly enough. Had an older school sort of decor, which was nice. Easy access to the stuff in Coconut Grove by foot. Roof top pool was decent… the on premises restaurant was pricey as hell though. I'd probably go back their again.

The hotel itself is beautiful, the staff is not. We had several issues while staying there this weekend for a wedding: 1. They don't even come close to entertaining early check ins. 2. We checked our bags with the front desk and they forgot to give me one of the bags. I asked the front desk manager Jessi for some assistance, who essentially made me out to be a liar. Exact words were: "This woman CLAIMS she didn't receive one of her bags. " 2 minutes later the bag was found in their storage. 3. The groom bought gifts for all the groomsman, one of which was my boyfriend. The baskets had liquor, iPhone speakers, flasks and a handwritten letter from the groom. All the gifts were in the suite when we all went to brunch on Sunday. When we returned, they were nowhere to be found, along with one of the bridesmaid's set of pearl earrings. We requested the help of the front desk manager Jose, who was anything but helpful. Later in the day, one of the groomsman (not the manager) found most of the items in the housekeeping closet. I am in complete disbelief — housekeeping stole the gifts. A police report was filed. I just can't fathom a hotel that charges over $300 a night to have employees that steal sentimental things from guests. Unbelievable. We will never set foot in the hotel again.

I had one of the worst experiences in all my stays at a hotel. My wife and I were in town for a wedding. From the moment we signed up to the moment we left we felt the communication was terrible between the staff. Rates were not changed to our wedding rate and had to track down those rates to be able to have them. During our stay I was part of the groomsman in the wedding that was being hosted. All of the groomsmen were given gifts on day 1 with personal letters from the groom. These gifts and personal letters were taken at some point when the room was not occupied. When brought up management did nothing offered no help. On top of this the rate on my room was still incorrect and I had to point this out for a second time. I hope this place can get their act together as it is a beautiful location with much potential.

The reception has been quick and efficient, but the breakfast could be better and not clean the room the next day.

Nice rooftop pool with bar and cabanas. Staff will not change the music or allow you to play your own. Drinks are expensive as well.

Crooks, liars, scam artist General Manager Axel Gasser and Event Coordinator Matilde Campo have stolen $7200 of the deposit to my dream wedding after trying to change my wedding date while battling breast cancer. Staff is awful! Do not book events at the mayfair, they will cheat you out of your deposit money if you experience unforeseen circumstances before your big day! The management team is unethical, lied about not being able to give me a new wedding date and said I could no longer have my wedding there because it was too late because they were unable to book another venue or even work with me on a new date. They also said I was no longer allowed to have my original wedding date back which was supposed to be 1/16/2016 and they refused to give me credit, reschedule my event or credit any portion of my deposit. I have proof they booked another venue on my day and stole my money even after booking another wedding on my day. Here is the bride and groom who married in my ball room on what would have been my wedding day. This management team is the worst of its kind! The hotel is completely run down and they cut corners to gain profits and cheat customers.

Fair is fair, the hotel is very nice, but the staff is so awful I'm not only put off from ever staying here again I plan to make sure my family and friends who visit us in Miami several times a year won't stay here anymore either. I booked this hotel for a quick getaway along with a spa day. Three weeks prior to my stay I called to make sure I could check it early (1 or 2 PM instead of 3 PM) and I was told that it would be no problem if I called ahead closer to the booked date. I called the night before and there was no answer, I left a voicemail and no one called me back. I called again that morning and I was told there were people ahead of me (Which wouldn't have happened had they returned my call) I went on with my spa appointment (The spa and their staff is fantastic, again, to be fair) and I came downstairs all relaxed to deal with "Jesi" who has such awful customer service skills I am certain he must have worked at a Delta airport counter before this job. Jesi was rude from the get go, he acted like the mere request of checking in a little early was a personal insult. At this point it was 2 PM and he said there would be no room ready until 4 PM. Here's the thing, I live 5 miles away, the whole point of getting a room was so my wife and I had a place to shower, nap, and soak in the japanese soaking tub after our spa day, then go out to dinner at the grove, come back for a 2nd soak on the tub and go home to our baby.

Great hotel, beautiful setting and effective service. Rooms a little pricey but worth it for the quality of the amenities. Could do with less added costs though.

I'm from London and was passing through. I stayed here for 2 nights. Upon arrival they upgraded me to a Suite which was absolutely Gorgeous! I recommend this hotel 100%. I left and drove to Marathon and wish everyday since I had stayed here instead of leaving! The employees were helpful, kind and courteous! One of the house taxi's took me to Ocean Blvd and stayed with me for an hour showing me the sights and best places to shop. Usually the taxi takes you and just drops off but I had a driver for the hour. I will stay here again and recommend highly! The restaurant was a little pricey but was delicious. The whole experience was worth it.

First of all this is not a 5 star hotel as advertised. Secondly I had all my money stolen while my wallet was locked in the safe. Someone entered my room and over rode my code. Thirdly after 3 phone calls to management I have been unable to contact or be contacted by them. I guess they just don't care. Sheila.

I booked to stay here on my wedding night and they checked us into a room that hadn't even been cleaned! There were dirty towels on the floor, garbage in the room, the bed was not made and clearly sheets were not changed. They told me there was nothing they could do because they were fully booked out that night and there was no manager there for me to speak to because it was after midnight. To put salt in the wound they offered us a complimentary continentel breakfast the next morning as their compensation — how insluting! After receiving this insulting offer I asked to speak with the manager JOSE ARANGO who did not show the least bit of sympathy towards ruining our wedding night. He lied to my face about there being a "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door. As opposed to being apologetic, he was arguing with me about how they did nothing wrong. They showed ZERO sympathy towards us and said that since we stayed in the room they could not refund us our $400 spent on a dirty hotel room. I even tried to escalate the issue by emailing the head of the Mayfair. It has been a month since my wedding night and I still have not heard a response from anyone at the Mayfair — I find this to be so disrespectful. Aside from ruining our wedding night by checking us into a dirty room, the floors were not clean (my feet turned black just from walking around the room) and it was super noisy!

It has everything going for it but falls short. We arrived as a group 19 for a 4PM check in and the rooms were not ready. The woman who checked us in could have cared less and took our cell numbers and said she would call us as the rooms became available. She did not offer us an information about the hotel but we saw the restaurant across the way and headed in for tea and wine. The room I had was a little musty smelling and had white paint dripping down the back of the bathroom door. The robe hook was not affixed to the wall in the bathroom and promptly fell off when I hung a rob and nightgown. We all decided to head up to the rooftop bar for a social hour before dinner. They were closing the bar due the cold but accommodated us grudgingly. The heaters were not working on a rather cool night and were totally out of propane. Dinner that evening in one of the event rooms was the highlight for sure with a very warm and accommodating. Staff. The next morning the waitress in the dining area was so uninvolved with our group. Rooms were still not made up for many when we returned that day after 4PM! Our cab that we ordered through the front desk to go out to dinner was half an hour late. The next morning the two waiters serving us couldn't have been nicer and went out of their way. The hotel needs a renovation and the staff training on how to treat their guests — we are their bread and butter.

Despite the inability to check in a bit earlier then the check in time, this hotel is very impressive and provided a great experience and night's rest. The rooms are massive and are full of fancy ameneties. Televisions in the bathroom? Pretty awesome. Anyways, you can either valet or park nearby in the parking garages or street parking. The hotel has an old-school look to it, but I mean that in the best possible way. You could take a look at the photos to see what I mean. Inside the rooms await a very comfy bed, one of the best I've ever experienced in a hotel. Our room had a hot tub on the balcony. You have to call in to have it filled by facilities, and when I did, it took more than half an hour for them to come, so cancelled the request. Really hoped to enjoy it but maybe next time. The hotel rates are pretty steep, but you definitely get what you pay for and I highly recommend a stay here.

Well after you wait 20 minutes to valet your car you then wait another 20 to check in. The room is ok but smells and is dirty. The air conditioning didnt work as well as the phone. I spent the first several hours getting it all fixed. The hot tub is lets just say a serious disease waiting to happen. The room keys dont work and had to get 3 sets. 4 beers one cup of coffee cost $40.00 at the pool. Enjoy your stay.

The one star is for the SPA;Terrible customer service! I bought 2 spa day through living social. I called to book it and everything was fine, until we went there to discover that they didn't book our treatments. Upset by the lack of professionalism of their organization, their careless for their mistake, the lack of compensation and overall my waste of time, I tried to reach the manager, but she never took the pain to answer or return my calls to at least apology. The Spa is where you expect to be pampered and feel special, but obviously not there. Save your time and money and don't go there.

Awesome experience. Old world look that reminds me of San Juan, PR. Beautiful pool on the rooftop. Suite was impeccable and updated. Will post pics soon. I am a germaphobe. So, don't worry about the negative reviews referencing anything dirty. Maybe that was the old "them". I was very impressed with the new "them".

Don't stay here. This place is a noisy, obnoxious hellhole. The management does a poor job of controlling guests who loiter on the driveway laughing and yelling at 3 am after a wedding reception. Peaceful Saturday mornings in this neighborhood are ruined by the maintenance slob ambling around revving a leafblower when he could get the job done more quickly and quietly with a push broom. This hotel attracts the noisiest dregs of society to their front door.

Excellent service, hotel is located in a perfect location. Its very nice and quiet. As I checked in they gave me an upgrade to an executive suite, which was extremely beautiful. Everything was clean and modern. I definitely Recommend this hotel.

Aging hotel or dust took possession of the premises. The rooms feel the humidity and the air conditioning is very noisy. Otherwise the staff is adorable.

I think that recent reviewers have been a bit harsh. Yes, the decor is dark, but the look and feel really grow on you, it is a unique hotel. No, you do not need to pay for valet parking, but why spend your valuable time walking around looking for your car? I recently stayed for two nights. My experience was that the service was excellent. The manager, front desk, wait staff, bartender, and valets were very courteous and helpful. Breakfast (Eggs Benedict) was fantastic. The room was very large and well appointed, as was the bathroom. Reviewers on Trip Advisor are generally more positive, but the hotel does give coupons to those that give reviews there.

I arrived at this hotel after a long flight from Manchester on Boxing night and all I wanted to do was sleep. The check in was quite chaotic, our party had booked a total of 10 rooms all through Travel republic, we were advised one of the bookings was for the next day (couldn’t understand how or why when it was on the same day as everyone else’s), but this was resolved. My cousin was advised one of her rooms had been cancelled by TravelRepublic, and she had to pay upfront for another room despite the fact we had paid in full before the trip. The room rate they wanted was twice what we had paid but she had no choice as we needed to stay there. I was last to book in and when I finally got to my room I noticed the floor outside the room was covered with wet towels. The room stank of damp I didn’t take much notice of the room as I was so tired I showered (bathroom fine) and went to sleep. I woke up and could feel the damp on the bedding I went out to the “patio” the Jacuzzi was on this patio which was enclosed and very claustrophobic. The paintwork was chipped old and dirty and once the daylight came into the room it was apparent just how tired this room was. Certainly not the standard the website boasts of or what I expected. I left for breakfast and the towels outside the door mystery became apparent as they were soaked and in a pool outside the door.
