Reviews of Sonesta Denver Downtown 4*
Really liked the bartenders, especially Chuck.
Stay was GREAT! Staff are friendly and bar amazing service!
Very comfortable hotel and a great location.
I was here to photograph a non-profit event and the staff were absolutely amazing. Very attentive, very helpful and very friendly.
Great atmosphere, restrooms amazingly clean. Mall is across the street. Right in the middle of downtown walking distance to the night life and plenty of stores and restaurants.
Lovely place ~ location is simply the best.
Nice Pool! Great View! Great Restraunt next door 5280 Burgers! Close to 16th Street Mall!
Great hotel, excellent location and very helpful staff.
When we go to Denver, this is where we always stay. Love this place and location is amazing! Highly recommend.
Great Hotel in Dt. Denver and Friendly Customer Service. I always stay here if I'm in Denver.
The staff at the front desk were extremely friendly! I forgot my brand new $200 North Face coat. I called them and spoke with Leah and she immediately checked with the maids and they said they did not see a coat. I told her that I know I left it on the back of the chair and my friends even know that I left it, so she went to the room and checked personally. Which I appreciated.
Again, didn’t see it. She gave my information to the maid service manager and told me that they wil…l keep an eye out and if it turns up they will call me.
I requested to speak to her manager.
Arial, the manager, told me that they had done all they could and if they don’t have it there is nothing they can do. After you check out, the hotel is not liable for any of your belongings and that I was more than welcome to file a police report if I wanted to escalate this further. She told me that all of this was technically “hear say”.
I asked if she had personally spoken with the maids and she said she spoke with the supervisor who spoke with them. It did not seem like they spoke with the maids.
Arial was extremely unprofessional and rude. Made me feel like I was trying to make this up and was lying about it.
Before filing a police report, my friend Jess called Arial back to make sure she had done all of her due diligence. Arial was also rude to Jess and told her the same “we have checked everywhere and if we don’t have it then we don’t have it.
The Crowne Plaza is in the middle of downtown Denver. Food and activities are within walking distance. The room was clean and the service friendly. I was early to check in and they didn't turn me away. The outdoor pool on the 6th floor was awesome to swim in. It was empty at 9pm on a Thursday night and was like my own personal pool. I'll be back!
I love colorado. But JOE the concierge from hoovering and being pushy to move our cars while I am getting my bags. Because of JOE my experience started nasty. But John and Brian made up so much for it. They were great John service was so wonderful at The Lockwood restaurant. Brian during check out was so kind! Thank you to my WONDERFUL experience. But Joe needs help with customer service, he came off as a bull to us. He needs an evaluation. Because of him I wouldn't stay at this location again.
Vibe of the hotel was great, hotel staff was very nice. Bar was pretty solid. No dresser in the room made it tough for us as 3 night guests. Another negative is that the pool gets no sun from like 1pm-3pm due to the building blocking it. Overall the hotel was nice though.
The hotel was clean, the staff were courteous and thoughtful, and the bed was amazing. I also had nice space to spread out and work. The room was quiet. I didn't want to leave. The hotel is in a good location. The only negative thing that I noticed was that the hotel is clearly updated — and I suspect that it was much less nice before the upgrade. It shows around the edges of all the work that's been done. I would definitely stay here again.
Great accommodations! Awesome view of the city & mountains from 17th floor. Super comfy beds! 10/10 recommend for a room with a view and good service. You should stay here when in Denver!
Located in a central location within walking distance to public transportation and next door to the Pavilion. Hotel looks to be recently renovated. The lobby and restaurant/bar are nice with friendly staff. The rooms were nice with contemporary decor, but the beds were uncomfortable. The room amenities we're great. I would have given 5 stars but the mattress and pillows prevented it.
Decently priced considering location. Basic room, ours was on the 5th floor over looking the beautiful parking garage and right next to the elevator. Made it easy to find our way back. Be prepared to pay $35 for parking. Staff was pleasant and courteous. Will consider staying again.
Wonderful stay in a great location. I was impressed by the friendly staff, even during a hectic weekend. They were nothing but kind and considerate. We had a wonderful view of the mountains from our room and it made for the perfect place to crash after a concert at Mile High Stadium. The rooms were clean and the bed was super comfortable. I will be back for another Denver staycation soon!
Honestly I wouldn't even give it one star — they gave us what they called an "upgrade" and lets face it, it wasn't really or they just really suck… the showers have 0 pressure, the bartender sucked, they didn't have any of the first 6 drinks I had tried to order, the food was average but priced for high end, the room was older and the bed hurt my back. This was not worth the price even if you get a discount! No hot tub or sauna — you have to go across the street to use their facilities… who really wants to go across the street to relax in a hot tub then walk back across to go up 21 floors to get back to your room. The coffee maker didn't work, and the service sucks at their overpriced restaurants and bar. If you want to enjoy you stay in downtown Denver Stay at the courtyard inn by Marriott that way you enjoy your stay and food.
Stayed here for a week this month. Room was nice and we had no issues with housekeeping. They were really great. Front desk, check in, and check out was easy, helpful, and friendly. Parking garage was a little bit of a hassle as it's not very clear as far as leaving and paying. Also it makes it look like you can use your room key and we could not. The breakfast included with the room was pretty good. Better than some I have been to. Wait staff was hit or miss. Some days we had a wonderful helpful team member and other days were ignored almost the entire meal. The shop down in the lobby was easy to use. Had a decent food selection but the selection for things you may have forgot was not that great (tooth brush, tooth paste, hair brush, etc. ). Overall we had a nice stay.
My fiance and I stayed at the Crowne Plaza Denver this past weekend and we had a very enjoyable experience! We stayed two nights and at first, had an issue with some things needing cleaning in the room, but the maid came quickly and even changed the comforter for us when she noticed it was stained. Awesome rooftop pool and great 420 setup! Also, great location as it is right next to 16th Street Mall. Would definitely stay again next year!
This hotel is in a great location, right by the convention center and lots of shopping. The value of this hotel compared to the other downtown hotels is outstanding. Room was good size, bathroom a bit small but still big enough for getting ready. Beds were very comfortable, water pressure is okay and the TV was a good size for the room. One odd thing was that there was no dresser or place to put clothes away so if you stay for more than a few days you have to leave all your clothes in your suitcase.
I was in Denver for my sister's wedding and we stayed at the Crowne Plaza. I am not from the area and had never been to Denver before. The hotel staff were really friendly and helpful. My bedding unfortantely had a stain on it, so that was a turn off for me and my room had a weird smell to it. But the location is amazing. It is very centrally located so we were able to walk to most places.
Ok… great place. Real nice. Will stay again. My four complaints are, on 18th floor our room was right when elevator opened, so every drunk or stoned person kept trying to get in our room thinking it was theirs. If you are going to charge 35$ for parking then at least have free continental breakfast. House keeping should wait till noon to knock on the weekend to clean. I mean for God’s sake, wait till check out time. It’s simply rude!
Excellent hotel, clean, very attentive staff with a very good location, close to everything.
I have to admit, I was expecting the Crowne Plaza to be a bit more… grand. Initially I got the smallest hotel room ever made! Never stay in a corner room, they're walk in closets. After getting a new room, I was notified that even though I was a guest that I would be charged extra to park. I was unpleasantly surprised by this but had already checked in and didn't want to bother with it anymore. My favorite thing about the room was the view facing northwest and the beautiful mountain range. The bed was as hard as an old loaf of bread. TV services were bare minimum, and it was extra if you wanted to listen to a music channel. I did enjoy a nice meal down at the bar later on that night. The food was pricey but good. Overall, if you want a five star hotel experience your best bet would be to look elsewhere. This place is 3 stars at best.
We had the most amazing time staying here. The people were polite and understanding, the bar was good. But their parking garage is scary to say the least. Do not go here if you have a suv or truck… My husband had to help someone get into the hotel because he was handicapped and the hotel staff wasn't willing to help him and they didn't have a proper handicapped entrance. So don't stay here if you are in a wheel chair or one of your loved ones are.
I can't say enough good things about this hotel, the rooms are amazing, the staff was very pleasant, the location is great, and parking was convenient and a good value. Overall I feel like I should have spent twice as much for my weekend stay here. I will be returning to this hotel every time I stay in Denver.
The room was up to date in decor but there is no where to put your clothes. There are absolutely no drawers anywhere. Not in nightstands, not in the desk not anywhere. You literally have to live out of your suitcase. It have a closet but you don't usually hang up underwear or socks. I was disappointed.
Excellent service and excellent facilities. I recommend it!
Nice update to an old hotel. When booking your room, check on rates. Some accomodations come with breakfast but not all. Bathroom needed to have the tub drain cleaned out! Did not drain in the shower.
Some staff were great, others sarcastic and didn't even know that they had certain things or places for customers available. One employee laughed when my wife asked them where a certain place was in the hotel. The employee said that there was no such place in a sarcastic voice right after laughing at my wife for asking. Turns out that the certain place we asked about really is such a thing and the employee was just ignorant of their own areas. Told us certain things when we made reservations then another thing when we actually got there. Overall most employees were great. Just a few bad apples. Nice hotel. Would go back again.
Try them if you are looking for great deals on hotels. I stayed there and enjoyed it. They had the best rates I ever had of.
Awesome Beds and Pillows. Slept like a baby. One suggestion since they recently remodeled there was one very important step left out and that is the non slip bathtub w/shower. I did a little dance when getting in but that might turn out much worse for the next guest.
Friendly staff and nice/clean rooms. I had a beautiful view of the city at sunrise. They were under construction during my stay but I never heard it. There is a daily parking fee but if you're a rewards member it's free. Just create an account before you check in.
A place to enjoy a delicious healthy breakfast and nutritious.
The new version of crowne plaza.
They were doing construction the entire time we were there. It was extremely loud and they started before 9 am — on the weekend. I also ordered a coffee in the lobby, waited 30 minutes and was then still charged for it. Staff was lovely and the location was good. Otherwise, not anything special about the hotel. There are certainly nicer ones in the downtown area for a similar price level.
Nice hotel. Good location A 2min from the 16th St and all its shops. A 15/20min walk from Coors fields.
The biggest problem was that when we checked in our first room was dirty. Like snack wrappers in the window, floors were not vacuumed, surfaces still with crumbs. When we went back to the front desk we got an aloof sorry here’s your new room. Only one room key worked the stay. I understand the hotel was undergoing some renovations, which is why I was told the room was dirty; I guess the workers take snack breaks in the rooms. I would pass on this place. Not up to the standards I expected in customer service or generally conditions. The lobby and bar area were both nice.
Smaller room sizes, but very comfortable bed, clean and nice. The restaurant/bar on the first floor is nice. Right across from the outdoor mall which is great! Perfect location!
Stayed on the 16th floor on a Sunday for both business and pleasure. Was very tired and arrived at 1pm but unable to check in until 3pm. As a platinum rewards member though they called me when my room was ready. They held my bag and I browsed the nearby mall and had lunch at the burger spot around the corner where the desk agent recommended. Room was small like most downtown hotels but renovated and very clean. Some public areas like elevator were worn but there is obviously renovation going on. The food at the Lockwood is fantastic. Had a burger and Cobb salad delivered. Lovely service and presentation. A block from the Paramount theater for the show I went to, can’t beat that. The only downfall: you hear everything. Above, on the sides, in the halls. Sex, bathroom farts and the room next to me had a party and I was not well rested for my 8am meeting. I called at 130am to report this to the desk. Within a few minutes, I heard security knock on their door and talk to them. They quieted down but I could still hear the beat of the music and laughing but it was better and I was back to sleep by 230am. I appreciated the service. Would stay again.
Wow! I really liked this hotel! The staff was great and the location was perfect. I was able to walk to my convenrion as well as to a lot of food options. If you are a shopper then you are right next to the mall. I did show up late and my room wasn't clean so it took them an extra 25min to clean it. They gave me a drink at the bar while I was waiting which was nice and needed after a long drive in. I'd go back.
Looking for a hotel near 16th st and found this gem, great location at the heart of 16th street. All others were booked and super expensive. This is the only one that was available and they had excellent customer service. It was cheaper than it said on the Trivago. I think we got a discount. Room was very clean. Updated. Bed was comfy. They had a crazy water leak but it didn't affect us in any way. I love this place and when I come back. I'll probably stay here again.
Very good hotel and clean…!
Love this hotel!
Beautiful rooms, friendly staff all around and very helpful.
The restaurant has great food and a nice bar. Even though they get quite busy, service is still very exceptional.
Comfortable beds, nice big HD TV. Nice view, in the heat of downtown, shopping and great restaurants are just steps away!
Our favorite hotel to stay in Denver!
Horrible costumer service. We went to an event on Downtown Denver and reserved this hotel. We had paid in full for it months in advance. When we got there around noon we decided to try checking in. I worked in a hotel not long ago so I knew if they had rooms available then we could check in. We were told that there were no rooms ready yet, alright, we understood it was an event weekend and it was noon. So we just ask about how long the wait would be since we did need to be somewhere fairly soon. The woman at the front desk was very rude about it and refused to give us any form of time length. We really just needed something so we knew if we should just get ready at a friends hotel or just keep waiting. She finally told us no more than an hour. Ended up taking us three hours and we had to get ready in their bathroom last minute. The worst part of this was the housekeepers were only cleaning the single bed rooms and leaving all the double bed for last. We had to sit there and see every single single bed guests being given keys. We finally got into our room after three hours and the place had damages and stains on the furniture, again, fine whatever its downtown and that's expensive to replace, however mold in the bathroom was an issue for us. As the weekend went on we found we needed a few things, we called the front desk for a cork screw, a few glasses, and an extra blanket. We were told no for each one.
My room was nice and the staff was great. The meeting rooms are a bit too small and become too long and narrow if you need to put them together. Our meeting was large enough that we overflowed to a second building, which wasn't ideal. The restaurant was fine for a hotel bar. I'd stay there again if ever in the area, but I'm not sure it'd be my first choice for hosting a meeting.
Nice place great location breakfast was awesome. Staff friendly and courteous I recommend Crown Plaza.
The front desk staff is absolutely Fantastic! The location is great with only a 5 minute walk to 16th street. The rooms are spacious and very functional. Overall great hotel!
I am staying here now. The room has been clean and everything and all has been great until 5 a. M. This morning. There is a constant thrumming sound like a giant truck idling that is basically vibrating the whole bed. I thought it would go away after a few minutes but it's now 7 and is still here. Not sure what's going on but it sucks!
Good location. The room very clean. Ideal for 4 people. Attentive Staff.
So many better hotels in walking distance. They actually tried to charge me for hot water (I didn't want to use the coffee maker in my room bc I didn't want my tea to taste like coffee. There was a hot water container downstairs for a conference. Hotel employee stop me and said I could buy tea at the restaurant. I had the packet from the room. Just needed hot water. Bush league. Restaurant food was over priced for below avg food. Thank goodness walking distance to better restaurants.
Room was updated but I was woken Early to drilling next to my room. I couldn't go back to sleep. They had signs letting us know there was construction but seriously maybe a heads up when I checked in would have been nice? Or assign someone that room who was leaving earlier in the morning? Good location. Parking is $33/night.
Beautiful hotel! Secure keycard access elevator. Pets allowed. Nice bar downstairs. Perfect location central to Denver with restaurants and everything you need a 5 minute walk away. Nice staff and clean rooms!
The hotel is in the process of being rehabbed so I will be mindful of that. The room is what you would expect, it was clean, stocked with towels and the usual amenities and adequately supplied with electrical outlets and USB ports. I was on the lowest room floor so the view was fair. You must use the elevator, the stairs outlet to the street but have a sign claiming they are alarmed. The restaurant breakfast buffet was well above average. Fresh fruit, oatmeal that looked good and various items to add to it. The eggs came in the difference varieties, not one tasted like it came from a bag as I have had in other hotels. My room was not ready at check in time but I was able to check the bag. The gym has dumbbells a basic bench and lots of aerobic stuff. It is convenient to the shopping and local businesses.
Excellent location. Modern Hotel, very clean, good service and very good breakfast. The room is of normal size and with coffee available.
If anyone is looking for a great deal on hotels you can check it out on HotelRaven. Com Booked a room on there and they had the best rates around… We booked with a tour company who screwed up our reservations and started our trip off horribly. The front desk staff here fixed it. Thankfully, they weren't at capacity and we were able to get a room. They called our tour company directly and got it figured out for us, taking the stress off of me. Thank you for the great service. The hotel itself is what it is. Older. Clean. Accessible. Expensive parking. But there's nothing really wrong with it if you only intend to sleep here.
Amazing place to stay for a great price. The pool was amazing with the skyline view. Plus the beds were comfortable as heck. This will be our new place to stay every time we come to town. Not to mention 16th Street Mall is two blocks away.
Very nice hotel, well located.
We booked with a tour company who screwed up our reservations and started our trip off horribly. The front desk staff here fixed it. First and foremost thank you to Kris for a one of kind experience. Seriously, icouldnt have asked for a better afternoon, above and beyond service and personal interaction with someone who really cares about his patrons. The Crown Plaza went above and beyond to make our weekend extraordinary. The roof top pool and bar is second to none. I won't consider another destination for my next Denver stay. Thank You so much!
My room was clean. All very nice.
This place is the best hotel down town. Conveniently located, short walking distance to all major attractions. The best customer service, from all hotel staff. The utmost cleanest hotel I have ever been in. If there were 10 stars, I would of gave them 11.
Location is convenient and walking distance from many hot spots in downtown. Room's were good for the price and should be better with the remodeling currently going on. Hotel services were also quick to respond to any requests.
The front staff very kindly greeted me. Their location is great, however they charge you for everything. I requested some plates with silverware brought up … which is basic is most hotels and they said that they would charge me on my room bill. Location is nice … not far from 16 st mall, but overall quality of service is poor and they charge for many basic things.
Good location to downtown and restaurants. We were able to walk to the many options at the Denver Pavilion. Hotel was dirty. Almost didn't get my request for two beds because I checked in late. I called three times to update arrival time and was assure they would save my room. I got put next to rooms which were being renovated. Bathroom tile looked as if it were installed by the Asst. Night Manager's brother-in-law who means well. Homeless live on sidewalk outside front door. A little concerning when coming and going with family.
Restaurant food is great, bar food is great too. Hotel is quiet and the staff are very accommodating and friendly. The gym is very small and lacks equipment variety. The rooms are dated and the beds are uncomfortable. I will say the bathroom is nice and they give you lots of free samples of all sorts for things. I am sure this is not typical bit window is cracked and the A/C unit is noisey. If they update the rooms and fix the gym I would have given them a higher rating.
Hands down the best hotel for when you just want or need to get away from the world and not be bothered! The hotel staff are curtious and polite. The cleaning services respectful of privacy. All in all five star from me!
First, the location is great. Close to so much and places to eat. Had a bad headache last night and they brought me up some Advil straight away! Comfortable room. Good Wi-Fi and decent TV and movie selection. I would come back here.
Hotel stay overall was good. Room felt comfortable. However, the restaurant was not well staffed. There were 20 drunks and 1 waitress.
Decent room, limited food menu, OK internet. Nothing to make this place amazing above the other, but certainly not. Bad either. Very friendly staff. Would probably stay here again.
Awesome location for Broncos games, shuttle takes u right to the stadium. Also located perfectly for walking around town shopping, bar hopping, dining. Staff is SUPER friendly, and very accommodating. Rooms are very clean, and there's a Starbucks in the lobby-all around great hotel. No complaints! We will definitely be back to stay here next summer when we are in town again!
The location was great for our needs. Our room size (King bed/mountain view) was nice. The bathroom was quite small and not as clean as it could be. The parking was expensive.
For the prices I paid I was highly disappointed. First I reserved two king size rooms but when I got there they said I had one king and one queen. And that's supposedly all they had left. But on my receipt it said two king rooms. The rooms were outdated but seemed clean. The hotel restaurant was horrible. I spent $100 for four people and it was the worst food and the waiter didn't bring us water. We had to ask for it. Also it costs $25 to park in parking garage which would have been fine if I didn't spend so much money on the wrong room and horrible food. I would never stay here again and do not recommend. Also when we got to our room at 10pm there was loud music and women yelling happy birthday from next room. I did call for security and they was quiet but it took about 20 minutes.
Was there for business travel. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Restaurant staff were awesome. Housekeeping was terrible, bed was not made up, no vacuuming done, shower curtain wasn't placed back and toilet seat up. No water was replinished nor was the one that I drank put in the trash, room service napkin was still on the table. Hotel needs a overall, smells old and bathroom ceiling looks like it's getting ready to start leaking.
This hotel was a true disappointment. Upon arrival I was told that they didn't have any rooms ready since I was there prior to the check-in time. Someone else in my party checked in ahead of me and got the last room. After going upstairs and discovering how small it was he returned to the front desk where I was still waiting for a room to open up. They gave him another room. In other words they did have other rooms ready but they were presumably too disorganized to know what was going on. During the course of my stay, the housekeeping staff was completely inconsistent. They would fail to restock the coffee or the bottled water or other amenities in the room. There was a piece of fuzz on the floor during my entire stay so I know it wasn't vacuumed. Additionally the carpet in the elevators didn't look like it had had any attention in quite some time. Another annoyance is that it seemed like I had to have my room key reprogrammed every time I tried to use it. They told me not to place it near a cell phone or near credit cards. Even when I placed it in a pocket by itself it wouldn't maintain its magnetic encoding. I got two replacement cards while I was there and they behaved the same. I've never had that problem in another hotel so I'm not sure what was up with that but it was annoying. I know at least once it was human error when the person at the front desk told me the card had expired prior to the end of my scheduled stay.
Will never stay here again, not only did the elevators stop working but went down 3 times during the weekend, then was charged for an extra night that I never booked and they were suppose to credit my meal plan back to me due to the quality of the food, they never did. Still waiting! Never again.
We just stayed at the Crown for four days in late June of 2015. My husband was leery because some reviews said the hotel was outdated and the price was one of the cheapest in the area, and according to my husband you get what you pay for. Well I will say we got more than what we paid for. We had been on long road trip and were excited to finally be in one place. The room and hotel I felt was stylish, the rooms are not huge but we weren't spending a lot of time in them. It was enough for our family of four. I loved the pillow treats; a de-stress kit. The bed was very comfortable and the room was cleaned meticulous everyday. Downtown Denver is the place you want to be if you want to take in the sights. This hotel was close to all the action, we took the free mall bus and walked to the ball game, aquarium, museums, movie theater, and tons of places to eat!. The pool is a bit small, but the comfy patio furniture made it feel like we rented our own pool area. The hotel staff were always friendly. They would great us in the elevator as we entered and left. I would highly recommend for those who are traveling and are planning to see the downtown Denver area. My only con was the parking cost for each day is $27 per day but it seemed pretty standard. There seemed to be a lot of homeless in the downtown area, something I didn't expect, but there wasn't any around the hotel grounds. I was most happy to tell my husband I told you so! We'd stay again. Thank you Crown Plaza.
Terrible customer service, booked room 4 months early, took 7 hours past check in time to get us a room. Pool closed until spring, it's may right now. Misplaced our reservation, didn't notify us when our room was ready, can hear neighbors through the vents, bathroom dehumidifier doesn't work. The effort these people put into messing up our vacation was outstanding. The restaurant employees were rude, uninformed about prices, and tipped themselves from the change we should have gotten back.
I bought this hotel blindly through Hotwire at a discounted rate. The rooms are nice enough and comfortable. The hotel has a great location, a block away from the south end of the 16th Street Mall downtown. But what most impressed me is the staff. When I checked in, they were having some trouble with the computer system, which wasn't encoding keys properly. So they asked me to wait a few minutes, and because I did they gave me two free drinks at the hotel bar and three free breakfast buffet coupons. When I used one of the drink coupons, the bartender gave me a second drink free. And there's no reason for them to have treated me so nicely since I hadn't paid full price or even chosen the hotel specifically, but they just seem like nice people. I recommend staying here.
MOLD, TRASH, UNSATISFACTORY CUSTOMER SERVICE, UNCLEAN ROOMS When we walked up to the hotel we were not greeted by the one hotel employee standing outside of the hotel. When we entered the lobby it was very nice and spacious. They even had complimentary hot chocolate and plenty of seating so you don't feel over-crowded. The elevator requires a room key which helped make us feel safe. When we entered the room we looked around a little just to make sure it was clean. To our dismay it was not. The front of the tub was very dirty. The light shining through the window showed us just how dirty the windows were, but also how dirty the desk was. It was very oily and showed no sign of even being wiped down. We noticed some small black specks on top of the bed. They were easily seen since the comforter and sheets were white. We also notified them of the spots that were above the shower that looked like mold. Jenna, the front office manager told us that we would be moving to another room, and that she had been inside to make sure it was cleaned first. When we went inside that room we found an old deflated balloon and an old peanut just under the edge of the bed. I asked Jenna if they clean under the beds after every stay, and she said yes they are supposed to, but that they must have missed those items. We looked inside of the bathroom in the new room, and noticed quite a few spots above the shower. I asked the office manager when the last mold inspection was done.
I'm solely basing this review on my quality of sleep, since that's the main purpose of a hotel. I've yet to try the restaurant, fitness center or any other amenities. I'm here for business, and I wish I were at another hotel. I find myself in a corner room, that is very odd shaped and cramped. I can't open the main door without it crashing into the closet door and the room/furniture is in a zigzag pattern that is annoying to navigate around. Nonetheless the things that have made my nights sleep very unpleasant are: the bed and the heater. The thermostat needs to be recalibrated because it will blast hot air until the room is quite hot, then stop until it gets so cold I'm frigid. All the while the thermostat says its maintaining one constant temperature. The air conditioning unit itself does provide nice powerful air, but the electronic control unit that tells it when to turn on and off doesn't properly sense the temperature to maintain it within a comfortable range of my selected temperature (ex: I set it to 68 degrees, and throughout the night it felt like it was going from the low 60s to the mid and upper 70s). And the kicker — provides very dry air. My sore /dry throat is testimony. My biggest complaint though would be the sheets on the bed. You would think being in Denver on a winter night having a somewhat thick or plush comforter would be nice to curl up under, instead I have a starchy sheet which isn't soft and crinkles loudly when you move under it.
They were very accommodating and it was just lovely and the location just hangover.
I travel around the world fly fishing and book high-end fishing trip for folks from Russia to Tierra del Fuego, Argentina. I have to say the service at the Crown Plaza Denver Downtown blew my socks off! My hat is off to the team of this fabulous hotel, you set a new standard in my book on great hotels and fantastic customer service. thank you! pjp.
I have been to a lot of hotels in my life, and I have had various experiences for all of them. I have never been so impressed in my life as I was when I stayed at this Crowne Plaza in Denver! First off, the view is beautiful from just about any room. You can see the moon setting over the mountains in the mornings and the most beautiful Colorado sunset in the evenings. And of course you can enjoy it through the huge floor to ceiling windows in every room! It's simply breathtaking. Second, their restaurant, Off Sixteenth I believe its called, is PHENOMENAL. I went there every day for breakfast. The price is right, the portions are huge, and I was greeted by several of the employees, including the managers and they all learned my name and really treated my grandma and I as though we were the most important people in the hotel. The bar remembered my coffee order every morning and I was always greeted with a smile, and a sincere interest in my life. Third, the employees. Never in my life have I seen such a close knit, hard working team in my life. They are always willing to help each other out and really work as a team. Their communication is spot on and you can tell that they all really care for one another. The hotel was fairly busy because of the stock show and the team here didn't miss a beat. This is a great hotel. The price is right, the rooms are big and beautiful (I LOVED the two bathrooms in a suite!
Great overall experience. I'm glad I didn't read some of the reviews posted 8 months to a year ago or I might not have stayed here. The price was right and the service was great from everyone. I was upgraded to a suite immediately because of my hotel club status, and the parking fee was waved — Nice!. Breakfast buffet was a little pricey, but dinner in the hotel was reasonable. Food was really good too. I would definitely stay here again. Whatever changes the Hotel Management made based on the older reviews, they were good ones.
