Thos motel was one of the best on our road trip! The rooms were nice and clean, big, very spaciois with a balcony. The fridge, microwave and coffee maker were very welcome. We received a warm and friendly welcome from the gentleman at reception. Very dedicated employee! The breakfast was a free bonus!

Really nice, quiet and clean place. A nice continental breakfast was included. Andy at the front desk is really friendly.

Great views. Nice location not far from the beach or boardwalk. Staff is friendly. Pool is cold but still nice.

One of the beds was broken and the nigh shift worker didn't do anything about it. We had to fight to get an extra cot and he still wanted to charge $15 to use the cot. Also the ice machine in the hall was broken. Overall beds weren't comfortable and there was almost no outlets to chrage phones of other devices.

I would give this place 0 stars. If I could do a negative I would! I had to get a place quickly because my air bnb cancelled! This is Probably the worst hotel experience in my life. This place has The coldest most unfriendly service, and rigid rules. On top of the 100 dollar deposit there is also an ugly sign in the bathroom telling you not to damage towels and listing towel fees. The rooms are bare. It feels like prison with a queen size bed. There is this awful heater hum, and stains on the walls. Do not stay here! Xo.

The room was cheap, but you really get what you pay for here. We had no vent working in the bathroom, so when you showered the steam stayed in the room. The floor was warped because of the steam. The beds are very springy. The nice thing was the 2 doors out of the room and some rooms having 3 beds. Might not be our first choice staying here again.

Decent place to stay. Super convenient and fair priced. Wish it was a little more updated. Overall, not bad.

Great place to crash if you are looking for a cheap room in Santa Cruz. The place is old and a little shabby and run down. However the manager was very friendly and competent and the rooms were clean and quiet. The T. V. In my room was ancient and they didn't offer much more than basic cable but if you are looking for a place to lay your head it works.

Clean, quiet, the bed is not that comfort but its clean and keeps you nice and warm. Front desk staff is nice. No complaints, i've been staying here for a couple of weeks due to my job. I would recommend this hotel, I haven't tried breakfast but its the standard cereal & toast from what I can see. The most important if your working on a low budget its affordable during week and prices go up on the weekend especially saturday with $100 deposit.

The odd stains on the walls next to the bed are a good indicator of why they have a help wanted sign permanently affixed to the office window. This place is comfortably in the budget zone, with a capital u, so if you want nice, try the three hundred other higher costing places all near by. Rooms are huge and clearly a poorly qualified carpenter was hired to upgrade the bathroom. But I have high ceilings and a large bed with all the basics most hotels have. All in all, I'm happy cuz I paid half as much as the places around here. If I need cheap, I will be back. This place is five stars in a two star world.

You definitely get what you pay for. Cheap bedding/towels. Small shower. Outlets didn't work. Charge for balcony access. I would recommend in a pinch or if on a low budget and aren't expecting much more than a place to crash.

I love staying here! I was between apts for a few months so I stayed at a lot of hotels. The Oceana is definitely in the top three. Plus the price is great (I usually reserved a room online but then if I ended up staying longer they would give me the online price). I also really like how all but four rooms have entrances on the inside of the building. It feels more private and safe. There's a beer/snack store right across parkimg lot also a couple of restaurants as well. Oh, and they have a pool.

We spent too long at the Oceana Inn due to being displaced. We booked it because they had about the lowest rates in town due to ‘construction pricing’. It's a fairly large Inn, and the low pricing meant it was often quite busy and loud, but for under $50/night, I WAS willing to shrug that off. The hotel is nothing to write home about but sheets were clean, no bed bug experiences, and they have a decent, clean pool and working showers, etc. PROS/CONS: We booked King sized bedrooms and on the front side of the building had a door to the parking lot. Rooms were large on this side of the building/downstairs. The bathroom was large and the shower had good pressure. There is a small shelf on which to load your toiletries. This room had bath and shower. The hair dryer in the bathroom was broken but there is a working safe. They tell me these will all be removed soon. Bathrooms have new tiling and flooring—not perfect, but clean and decent. Bedroom floor in is a peeling faux-wood. This room also has a newer, flat screen television. An outlet by the desk doesn’t work and the desk drawer has been removed. If you're inclined to use the coffee pot, this could be a problem because the pot rests on the desk and the only accessible outlet is the one below the desk. There's a small fridge and microwave in each room. The air conditioner works, though old and loud.

I will not go back or recommend to anyone. Tv didn't work so I called front desk and they said they were having trouble with TV but will be fixed and they never came to fix the tv. The pool was closed and that should have been said or I wouldn't have stayed at this place. The bed blankets had hair. Overall not a good place to stay.

It wasn't what we expected, had to wait for room to be cleaned like 4 hours and when we tried to get in room we couldn't we had to go around through another room to unlock the latch that was on door. And when we tried to watch TV we didn't have any cable service it took another 3 hours before we were able to watch TV. And when trying to connect to Wi-Fi it was a very weak signal. But all in all it was basically clean and the short amount of time you had to grab coffee, juice, milk, toast, cereal hot or cold was a little short but good.

Excellent service, good prices, and very quiet and comfortable to rest. Very good place.

Worst motel I ever stepped into in my life. Other people's hairs between the sheets and on the towels. Dangerous neighborhood. In the evening people arguing in the hallways of the motel. Avoid this place if you want to enjoy the holidays.

Zero stars. Do not stay here, go accross the street and stay in islander. Same price and great! oceana inn. Horrible owner. She was so incredibly rude. I could not believe the way she was speaking with me as a customer. Please stay away from this place.

The price says it all… I wanted to use the pool but it was not possible since the whole time was closed.

We needed a place to stay for one night and we ended up at Oceana Inn. It was a little run down, but pretty clean. It's right off of Ocean street so it was convenient to where we needed to be the next day. The free breakfast was a bit lacking and the parking was scarce, but we did pull in very late. They accomodated our late check in just fine. I wouldn't neccesarily stay here long term, but for a night it worked for us.

It's not the Taj Mahal. However, for travelers and vacationers its priced rite. Is it clean? To me it's clean. Is it immaculate? Nope. It won't give you a social disease. The maids work hard. And guest turnover is huge here. I agree about Aaron's comment on breakfast. No space to sit and eat. The pool is clean and always operational.

Location was great, within walking distance to bars/venues and restaurants. Room was okay, the blankets need updated, they looked a bit worn out. Service was okay but my medical marijuana went missing after house cleaning showed up.

Good hotel for the price. Room and bedding we're comfortable. Needs to have more breakfast options for longer time period.

Pretty much just a roof over our head. Walls were thin so we could hear everything our neighbors were doing at 4 in the morning. Breakfast was just cereal and juice.

Hotel room was decent nothing special really. I only slept there for a couple hours then got out of there. Heard there was a continental breakfast but I had too much to do to stick around. Management was unwilling to give me an extra blanket and pillow. Rough part of town as well.

The site of which the hotel was booked through, was not accurately described. On the site, was stated that the office was open 24 hours. It was only open until 10. Site stated pets were ok. Sign in the window stated no pets. Upon checking in, they required that we give an additional $100 deposit on the room in case of any damages or what not. That was not stated on the site. The room had potential. However, upon entering, using the restroom, there was water in the sink that did not drain. The toilet clogged after first use which was light. And the shower drained was slightly clogged which started to fill with water immediately. Hardwood linoleum was places throughout main area of room, was warping and peeling, and slightly damp, at area near bathroom door. Pillows had cases on them, and there was mold around entry door to room on the inside. Not to mention, the ceiling had not been completely painted one continuous color. So many problems that are simple fixes and lack of transparency.

Dirty bed sheets, dirty towels left in room by previous people, microwave is missing a key component so it didn't work with no help from staff besides them saying all of them are like that, there was no soap in our room, they don't have trash bags in their trash cans. This is definitely not worth the price. I've stayed at better Motel 6's for cheaper.

Fairly decent room. A bit dated and some of the furniture had been poorly fixed. They requested a deposit that they said would be refunded 3 to 4 days after checking out. The room was a good size with 2 queen beds that were not right next to each other, a real nice setup. They had no bath only a small shower leaving the bathroom with a lot to desire. There was a small balcony that made up for where the bathroom lacks. Staff was decent however nothing special. All in all if there is another place to stay I likely would but in a pinch I could stay there again. Enjoy your trip!

I found that the rooms were incredibly dated and fairly dirty. There was blood on the curtains. Not a lot, but it had been there a while due to the coloration.

Eh. The pillows were terribly uncomfortable and the TV was SUPER small. I don't care much for fanciness but an inn should have at least a comfortable place to sleep, which it didn't. It doesn't deserve a terrible 1 star but this place was far from an enjoyable stay.

Most horrific hotel I've ever experienced. They did not tell us the hotel was under construction when checking in. I spoke with the front desk after being awoken to demolition next door and asked why he didn't tell us at check-in. He said "his mistake". When I asked about any type of compensation after being awoken to the sounds of demolition he said no. I asked if he cared at all about his customers or their reviews he literally said "we do not care". I wouldn't stay here again if paid after that response from their staff. Do not recommend.

Very good price for new year's eve! They were also very accommodating when we needed more pillows! Great location. Only a couple blocks from downtown and also near the freeway.

I booked a room with Oceana Inn over a week ahead of our stay. There was an issue with the payment so the staff called me on the day of our stay to inform me that the reservation was canceled. I called back instantly and said I would like to rebook, no problem, but they raised the rate over $30. I said "thats a bit ridiculous" on the phone and the guy took serious offense to it and refused to book me the room, even after I apologized. I don't like giving poor reviews and I rarely do so because I'm a generally optimistic and positive individual, but this was truly horrible service. I cannot recommend this place.

I like the Oceana a lot. Unlike all the lower Ocean St and beach flats motels, the Oceana is always clean and has the best rates in town. Idk why everyone is complaining about the $100 deposit but if you pay cash, that's standard in SC. Actually most of them want more. The Oceana will work with you if you don't have enough. The rooms are clean. The owners are cool and so much better than a lot of the hotel owners around here. They're always nice to me :-)

OK but not luxury.
The pool closes too early, the location is not too bad but the car still needed to go to the beach and parking is then very difficult or very expensive on-site
to have a place in the alleys
Very good restaurant just to 2 not Italian very friendly waitresses in efforts to talk with us in french it was pleasant.
