Very Friendly and owners go way beyond their duty to facilitate you we traveled from Ireland and stayed here 11th June 2019 after stopping to visit a friend who lives in Santa Barbara while on our way to San Francisco nice clean tidy bedrooms we had no complaints whatsoever we hope to visit this place again in the future when we return and wish the owner and staff every success for the future John & Karen Moore Belfast Northern Ireland.

Nice rooms and very clean!

The rooms are not amply but clean and functional. There is all you need: fridge, microwave, etc. The price includes a nice breakfast which you need to take to your room. The owner is extremely helpfull and friendly. The cons are the limited parking space, the significant street noise even duringthe night and the relatively high price.

Nice rooms all very clean and really o. K. For a short stay. You have fridge, coffee machine and microwave oven in room. Even coffee and milk are free to use. Only a little bit loud due to close street and thin walls but as a German I am used to stone houses with thick windows which is mostly not the case in USA.

Nice clean motel if you are going out sightseeing or busy. There is no pool but it's ten minutes from the beach.

You can hear all the street noise from the busy road next to hotel. Sheets are old and pilled. Not fancy at all. More like a motel.

Amazing place! I had booked on hotel tonight. And when I got there they said the room was with two twin beds! I was on a anniversary trip and she felt bad hotel tonight booked me two twin bed so she upgraded us to a beautiful suite no charge! I can say I’ll always come here when I am in town. I have stayed at most of the hotels in town and this is my favorite now! So friendly and close to town!

Very comfortable rooms giving a sweet nights sleep. The staff couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. Great choice and value for money for the area.

This was the cutest motel I have ever stayed at! The woman working the window was very kind and sweet! The room was so cute and fresh and clean! It was a nice change from the CA hotels we had been in over the past week! I would highly recommend this motel to anyone looking to stay in Santa Barbara! The bed was very comfortable and the room had this cute little mood light on the table! The heater was quiet and state of the art! I loved everything about this little motel!

Very frustrating experience. We had a reservation for 2 nights. On our way to Santa Barbara, we found that the 101 was closed. We are from Nevada and had no idea about the road closure. We were told that we would have to go around and that would take an additional 5 hours. I texted the Agave Inn and explained what had happened and that we would have to cancel. We were just too tired to drive an additional 5 hours. The lady at the Agave Inn texted me and said she would give us a refund. What she didn't say, was that they were still going to charge us for the second night. That was very misleading. I noticed a $104.68 fee on my credit card so I called her. I was very nice and she was very nice, but she refused to refund the money. Fortunately, price gouging laws were put in place for times of emergency, and the road closure was due to a flood emergency that had caused a lot of damage. Hopefully my pursuit of price gouging will result in a refund. You be the judge as to whether you want to patronize a place that has no business ethics. And one more point, just to put things in perspective. We were on our way to Sansum Medical Clinic for a biopsy appointment. Sansum did not charge us for the cancellation. Update: The Agave Inn did end up refunding the rest of the money after I texted that I would be contacting the Attorney General's Office. I am thankful for the refund.

Very quaint, and uniquely decorated. It can be a little noisy however staff is very helpful and friendly.

Room was very clean. Staff was very nice. Located in state street so only a few minute drive from all the shops and restaurant.

As far as inns go, this is probably as good as you can get. Rooms are modern and clean despite the outside appearance of the motel seeming a little dubious. Good service too.

Amazing little place! The staff were amazing, so many helpful tips about restaurants; both near the hotel and nearer the beach. The hotel was great value for money. It had parking, air con and most other modern facilities you would need. Decor was simple but modern. Although it appears near the main road it was very quiet and had thick windows to kept out any extra noise.

When I visit my daughter's I always stay at the Agave Inn. The staff is not only helpful but genuinely friendly. Susan is always a pleasure! See you next time.

Booked this room very last minute. Arrived and host was ready to check us in. Very friendly, welcoming and helpful with local map — told us great local food places and sights to see. Room is immaculate — quaint, small hotel with small rooms. Perfect for 2 people. Very clean, neat and eclectic. Updated, online pictures are very accurate. Within minutes to all main attractions in Santa Barbara. Small continental breakfast offered in the morning. I would stay here again in a heart beat!

Excellent for the price. Older motel that's been renovated a bit. Pros: — inexpensive — great suggestions from staff on local food options — free breakfast — air conditioning Cons: — door lock felt a bit cheap — not fancy.

Expensive and ridiculous breakfast over a cabinet… please stop calling "continental breakfast" to coffe + cookies.

This is a really cute place. It's got an old-timey Mexican feel to it that reminds me of a Mexican vineyard. At the same time, the rooms are really colorful, with modern touches thrown in like the see-through plastic chairs. Our room was sky blue. It's a modest, small place and I love the look and feel. It is so quiet, you can hear a pin drop. They're so friendly. When we stayed there, they checked up on us in the morning, and they had breakfast ready for us. In fact, I'd stayed there once last year, and when I called to book our reservation for June, the woman at the front desk remembered me and my name. That kind of personal touch makes this place even more special to me.

Visited this place about 2 years ago. Feel in love. Cute/sophisticated little place. Rooms are good size, nice decor and perfect for the weekend. Probably the only downfall is that right behind the hotel is a greyhound location. So its not the best view to look at. Other than that its great walking distance to the gas lamp district, house of blues and other bars. Hoping to go back soon!

The Agave Inn was a small but wonderful motel. The staff and accommodations were both great.

I've stayed here several times throughout the last 5-6 years and every time I am more and more impressed with what the owner has done with the place. All the rooms are completely modernized and the Inn is located perfectly across the street from the best bakery in town. There's also a Gelson's market in the same shopping center which always comes in handy during my stays.

Stayed in a one bedroom king for two nights. Fair price and neutraly located to downtown and UCSB. Comfortable room and bed. There are definitely better hotels in the area but you can't beat this value.

Seems like it was an older model that was renovated with some flair to it. About a dozen rooms. Located about a mile off the 101 and conveniently next to markets and restaurants. It's about 5-10 minutes away from downtown SB. The rooms are small, but not overly so. It was nice to have a fridge and microwave. Continental breakfast in there mornings from 8-11 consisted of fruit, pastries, coffee, and OJ.

Wonderful retro place to rest your head when in SB! The room and the staff were wonderful!

It was a nice hotel but way over priced. I got it through hoteltonight and with a discount I paid $200. The shower water smelled like chlorine the moment I turned it on. Although It was quiet and convenient, the amenities don't justify the price.

Best motel in Southern California. Very clean, kids-friendly and breakfast is included! It also has a TV, a microwave and a fridge. What more could you ask for.

The Agave inn is a cute little motel, very clean, stylish and decorated with style. The lady at the reception was adorable, helpful, sweet and super friendly. Been to a lot of motels in the states, lots were nice, but this one had beautiful rooms with very comfortable beds. And the rates are the cheapest in Santa Barbara. Very good value, strongly recommended.

This was a great find. I was in town for work and ended up having to stay over night. When I arrived I met Susan who was very kind and accomodating. This was the cheapest motel in the area and probably in the whole city. The rooms were well kept and the bed was more comfortable than those in most other hotels that I have stayed at. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is planning on visiting the area. If I am in the area again, that is where I will be staying.
