We love the lemon tree. The courtyard and pool area are beautiful. The staff always friendly. The rooms could be refreshed but as they are they're still warm and inviting!

Spacious, clean rooms with a little private outside seating area and pool view.
The room was well equipped with iron and ironing board, hairdryer, mini fridge, safe etc.
We arrived just after 9 PM but it didn’t stop us to have a cheeky dip in the pool. It was awesome.
The free parking space outsider our room is also very convenient and hassle free. Definitely recommend this place.

As we were passing through on our drive to San Diego from S. F we stayed here for a night. Nice big room with a cozy bed. Nice pool area. The bar, the service and the IPA beer was super!

Good value for money, the rooms are clean and big and it's the first bathroom with shower instead of tub! We had overlooking the pool with patio and garden (for a few dollars more) and there is also the restaurant. The location unfortunately and far from the center but we had cars and parking is included.

I love this place, the court yard is beautiful! Service was great! Price wasn't bad, not far from the beach. We are walker, so we walked to the beach, about 3 miles away.

We were traveling from LA to San Francisco and we just happen to stumble across this wonderful restaurant! The food was amazing and the service was great. We enjoyed it so much we ate there on our way back to LA.

1950's style motel that has been renovated. The draw for us was the pool area. It's tropical and with the ground floor walk out rooms, was very accessible. The room was standard size with medium quality furnishings. Our bathroom had been redone and was clean, large and functional. There is noise from other rooms, particularly if they use the deck. We also had an issue with the next door neighbor smoking. The front desk addressed it well by explaining to the guests where the smoking area was. The neighborhood has a ton of good cheap restaurants but is a drive from major sb attractions.

Not worth the price, kinda run down, peeling on the ceiling in the bathroom no fan, tattered curtains. Hot tub rail needs repair. Very loose. Almost dangerous.

Most of the hotel was fine — what you would expect from a basic place. The bed was comfy and the bedroom was clean. The big issue was with the bathroom, which is sorely outdated and deteriorating. The paint is chipping off the warped walls, there is mold and spiders. The shower door was broken so water splashed into the toilet area. Both the handles in the shower were marked "H" but one was not hot. Housekeeping took towels when they cleaned, but did not replace them. They weren't delivered when I requested them from the front desk either. It wasn't what I was expecting for the amount we paid to stay there. Because of this, I will not be recommending this place or staying there again.

I love coming for summer vacation. They always have great deals. I can't wait till I come again soon. Would definitely recommend to all friends and family.

Great quality interiors, metallic roof at entrance a bit old and rusty, needs maintenence. Safe parking, clean rooms. Friendly staff Very noisy. We asked front desk how the noise levels are before we booked, he said it is quiet… Couldnt sleep all night. Need to work on the insulation. Their restaurant is closed as well, so no food or breakfast available.

Crocodile Restaurant is excellent! We had a large group, ranging in age from 2 to 86. Ordering off the dinner menu was great, something for everyone! And everyone raved about their dishes, pizza, tacos, pasta plates, all great. I had the lemon chicken salad and it was delicious! The restaurant is beautiful, I'll return for a romantic dinner with my husband!

Booked this inn on my California road trip. Was not expecting much and yet was pleasantly surprised. Nice clean rooms, nice patio area, great pool/hot tub area, amazing staff, extremely fair rates. Stay here was so good we booked an additional night because we just didn't want to leave!

Had the most amazing stay in this hotel is really lovely and relaxed. Food in the restaurant was fab! And lovely to relax round the pool after a busy day!

Simple but solid motel little bit outside of the city centre of Santa Barbara. The common areas like pool and restaurant are nice. Rooms are quite spacious, clean and simple. Don't expect something extraordinary but it's a motel. Prices vary super much, especially weekdays versus weekend.

Good location, amenities and drive away from the hub! Staff were accommodating and friendly! Some rooms need a good clean, furniture re-placements! Some warmer refreshments.

We had a lovely experience! Our TV in our original room didn't work, so we were quickly moved to another room. The hot tub was very nice and open late! The front desk staff was also very helpful and nice.

It's a lovely quaint place. The Bar & Grill is very nice. Doesn't look spectacular from the street. The courtyard is great. Hotel management does not understand customer service so it's basically up to staff that day how your service may be. Patience recommended.

A little bit away from the center but it is a quiet place. There is a good restaurant in the hotel. The big pool and a hot Jacuzzi.

I am totally impressed with The Lemon Inn. Lovely neat rooms and bathrooms. Toiletries, tea, coffee provided. Room is also equipped with a safe. Beautiful swimming Area. The Crocodile Restaurant is also on the premises and sells delicious food. And it aent called the Lemon Inn for nothing — there are Lemon trees all around the Inn Service is really good and professional.

This is a great hotel if you're driving through Santa Barbara and need to stay for the night. The rooms are super clean and the floor level rooms surround a pretty nice pool. The lemon trees and garden around the pool create a pleasant outdoor experience, especially at night from the guest room patios. We ordered takeout food from the restaurant and it was really good. The only thing I can complain about is the strange shower design in the rooms. It creates a huge watery mess in the bathroom, so be prepared to go through a lot of towels. Other than that, highly recommended and we will be back.

Exceptionally sweet and helpful front desk staff. Gorgeous gardens. Lovely pool. Great room; clean spacious and view of mountains. Private patio with furniture. Full Bar. Great restaurant; good food, great service, jazz music and vibe. We live here and enjoyed a stayvacation We will be back.

This is such a lovely place and the landscaping is exquisite Their gardeners are masters! Jose Luis was my server in the lounge and he exceeded my expectations of service! Leo and the other staff members helped me at the front counter and the customer service could not have been better! Even housekeeping was courteous and helpful!

Nice hotel with green, well-kept facilities. Very welcoming. Our room was equipped with a connecting door, through which we could hear the excited young ladies quite loudly in the neighboring room. We quickly clarified that. Otherwise, the rooms are quite clairvoyant, but still the stay was pleasant. Rooms large and clean. Even the bathroom was great.

Clean, staff very good 8 out of 10 for service. Good pool well maintained. Rooms are very good with a terrace over looking the pool with nice table and chairs good view over pool go's well with a glass of wine. All in all good all rounder.

It was nice enough for the price. Room had a private balcony, private parking lot that was free, clean and quiet rooms. Staff was very friendly. The Wi-Fi was kind of spotty on my side of the hotel though, and the wet room style bathroom meant the shower left a puddle all over the floor and soaked the bath mat. I would happily stay here again, but it wouldn't necessarily be my first choice.

The outside area with pool and hot tub were GORGEOUS! Very lush and relaxing. The room was ok, old with chipped tiles and cracked doors, no fridge, there was a used soap in the shower and half full bottle of shampoo left instead of a new one. Also the bed had no fitted sheet just a flat one so it came off and was irritating. We did tell the front about this and they gave us a good discount. All in all would go back, was reasonable and like I said the gardens were magnificent.

We had a pleasant experience staying at the Lemon Tree Inn for a couple of nights on one of their renovated rooms. It was very clean, updated, and comfortable. I liked the 2 big glass doors that provided a beautiful view into the lushly landscaped grounds. Most of the time we kept our glass doors open to our private patio area, and we enjoyed the resulting indoor-outdoor feeling. We were busy working and visiting friends, so we didn't find the time to dine at the restaurant or use the pool, but they looked nice. The bed was very comfortable. I bring my own Tempur-pedic travel pillow, and I was glad, because the pillows were too firm for my liking. The worst thing I experienced was I *detested* the odor of the cleaning products when I initially walked into the room. It smelled of cheap, synthetic fragrance. Also, I think I may have been allergic to it, because my nose became itchy and runny. I immediately opened the doors to air out the room, and after a few hours it was much better. I requested no room cleaning during our stay, so I wouldn't have to deal with the cleaner fragrance again. By the next day the scent was gone, and I felt back to normal. That said, I would possibly book at this hotel again if I got a good price (like I did this time). I paid less than $100/night, including all taxes & fees, and I think it was a great value for that place and probably nicer than other motels in the same price range.

I love this place. We stayed here on a busy Labor Day weekend. My husband and I had the best sleep we've had in years. The beds and pillows are extremely comfortable. The hotel is mid century modern and the porch outside the room was a relaxing place to enjoy the landscape. The rooms were clean and air conditioning perfect. I thought I lost a necklace there but later found it in my suitcase. The staff searched high and low for me and were extremely accommodating. The restaurant served a delicious breakfast. We stay here whenever we visit Santa Barbara and I highly recommend it.

Nice room in a convenient location. The room was too bright with the outside hall light on all night. No way to make it darker. Very clean room, but also very plain. No art work. Lovely shower but no rugs and the tile was rough. Not a plush, spa-like stay but worth the money.

This Inn has such great potential. Beautiful grounds and fantastic pool. However, the rooms have no appealing style. Boring colors, nothing on the walls, drab bed colors, and very minimal bath products. Very expansive for what you get.

Nice spacious room with full bathroom and balcony. Saltwater pool with lounge area and neat and nice service staff. Restaurant was not used therefore there is no rating. Location is actually ideal by bus a maximum of 10 minutes to the city centre.

The lemon tree in is pushed from a 4 star in to a 5 star one by it's sublime location in Santa Barbara. The weather is perfect year round, and it's right by the beach, the mountains, AND the Channel islands. The crocodile restaurant built into the hotel is absolutely fantastic. I am staying here while looking at colleges, and find this to be the first time that I have been truly relaxed during the process.

We came here so we could just visit Santa Barbara. We arrived a little early and our room was not ready. But when we told the gentleman at the front desk we were tourists he became the concierge. He was so helpful showing us where the highlights of the city and the best way to get there. Our room is very nice and it is very big. It is a older inn but the rooms have been refurbished. We had breakfast in the inn restaurant. The service was great and the food was delicious.

The room was clearly very old and the restaurant charged us twice for our meal, once as the Crocodile and once as Lemon Tree. I'm sure it was an accident but I almost didn't notice. Walls/floor were thin, we had to call the front at 1am due to noise above us and the guy said they had other complaints. Great service at the front however.

I like this hotel a lot the rooms are a bit dated and the shower pressure was horrible but I like the patio view and rooms size — that's what made me give it 3 stars also it feels very secluded and low key which I really dig!

The backyard of the hotel is very beautifully designed, lots of lemon trees (of course), a pool, palm trees. Looks good. The rooms are cozy and clean, the staff was nice. The Restaurant / Bar connected to the hotel is pricey, we've had 2 cocktails which sounded nice on the menu, but weren't done well.

Friendly front desk. Rooms were very clean, but smelled a little chemically if you have a sensitive nose. Our room had a nice balcony that overlooked the pool. Not impossible to walk to the downtown area, but it's not close.

Last minute booking got us a great price. Staff was very pleasant. Large, quiet, comfy if somewhat dated rooms. Has a 60's road trip kinda vibe. First floor rooms all seemed to have patios facing the pleasant saline pool area. Lots of families & seniors relaxing. Restaurant was fine with reasonable prices. They mentioned special pricing if you are in town for treatment at Cottage Hosp.?

I personally did not book the hotel. I met with friends who were staying there and visited the room. It seemed a bit tired; There was a hole in the wall caused by the door handle opening too wide by a previous occupant. The furnishings looker newer but the bathroom was very basic; I would have chosen a more updated hotel.

Nice atmosphere, very good food. Doesn't look like it from outside, but the restaurant here is very good.

Nicelycely upgraded property. Comfortable and modern decor and furnishings. Wonderful citrus scent in the air outside from all the lemon trees in bloom.

The place is dirty, there is a strange smell in the rooms — like warehouse detrrgent — the tap in the bathroom had white sludge (toothpaste? ) on it … no refrigerator / mini bar — The bare essentials is all you get for a $150 bucks — what a fantastic rip-off — I got a $50 discount and the tap was cleaned — this place is drab as well.

Beautiful room with french doors onto a lovely patio. So so comfortable. The bar makes a good gimlet too.

The location was near the Santa Barbara Bowl. The entrance was nice and the attendant was friendly. The room I had stayed with my girlfriends needed improvements. The bottom floor rooms had bugs coming inside the bathroom such as mosquitos and crickets. There was no ventilation fan inside the bathroom and no windows as well to allow the moisture from fogging up the mirror. The beds were lumpy and the pillows needed to be changed because they didn't provide comfort. Called the operator to let them know that a flourescent light needed to be changed. I had to call them 3 times to have it done. The cleanliness of the grounds was good as well as the housekeeping of the room. Overall, I would have looked to have stayed at another hotel.

The hotel staff was very friendly, and they made our trip much better by suggesting things to do. The hotel, however, was extremely overpriced for the dirty room. At near $300 a night, one would expect basic amenities such as tissues in the room and more than two towels in the bathroom. It was also cold and dark. I noticed the owner mentioned that his prices were comparable to other local hotels — are your rooms comparable too? I highly doubt that. For that much money one expects a certain level of comfort. If you are looking to stay in the area, go closer to the beach where you can get a hotel for $229. We found this out after we booked this hotel.

The rooms are spacious and all pool overlook.
Bedding is excellent, bed king size and firm.
The pool is very nice and bathed in Sun.
The staff even arranged us a late check out on simple request (1 p. M. Instead of 11: 00).
The location on state drive is good. It is the street that leads to the city centre where you will find shops and restaurants. On the other hand we take the car to go.
Parking available and free.
For what is less good, I found the bathroom clearly indented with a dated shower valves covered with limestone and a rickety shower door. Too bad.
Lack also the breakfast which is not included with the room but it seems fairly standard in the USA.
Otherwise it's all good for me.

Poor dingy hotel! Room not clean. For $300+ per night, you'd think they would have tissues in the room! Only (slightly) redeeming feature was the overpriced breakfast next morning and that was spoiled by the time it took to serve us. Overpriced, under managed and under cleaned. Stay somewhere else!

We stayed there 3 nights, great location (we had a car), spacious rooms and the pool area is very relaxing thanks to all the trees and plants around. The reception girl was kind and friendly. Room was clean and pleasant. Pool and jacuzzi were a little dirty (dry leaves and bugs in the water), but we enjoyed them anyway. Wi-fi was very very slow. Overall we had a good experience.

Lemon Tree has become my favorite place to stay in Santa Barbara. The location is excellent, only a few miles from the great Hendry Beach (most of it a leash free dog beach) and the local Boathouse Restaurant and Bar right on the beach. You are also close to downtown and shopping. The Lemon Tree Inn grounds are beautiful. The rooms are large and very clean with a large terrace in a tropical setting. The beds are comfortable and the amenities are good. The personnel are very friendly and helpful. I love this place.

Great view to the pool, clean rooms, Parking, clean service once per day. I heard the people in next rooms and that made me uncomfortable.

We got a clean room on the second story with the view of their pool, restaurant, palm trees, and the Santa Barbara mountains as a backdrop. I couldn't get the Wi-Fi to work very well on my iPhone. Check in and check out was painless. King bed was comfortable. Reason for four stars was I wish they had a better/higher shower head, I'm over 6 ft, but I managed — The walls are pretty thin, but outside noise was minimal. Being right next to downtown was great. Overall good stay.

Excellent for the price. The room was smelling good and quite clean, equipped with two decent beds, mattresses, and a beautiful view to the inner garden of the property. Check-in very quick and efficient.

A very nice spot to stay. It's a bit aways from downtown Santa Barbara but there are enough restaurants within walking distance and it's right along a major bus line that heads into the main part of town. Facilities are nice and the rooms comfortable. I would say my main issue with the layout is the odd placement of the soda machine which was quite a walk from my room.

Stayed here March 17, 2013. Excellent service, staff is on top of things, willing to help. Understand this is an older hotel, and they have done a major remodel. The exterior is well-presented and the pool was perfect. Kids loved it. Hey, it's a budget priced hotel so don't think you are staying at Four Seasons. Easy to walk to Trader Joes, Ralphs and small restaurants, like Petrini's. Good Place.

An adequate m/hotel let down mostly by being far from downtown area and yet pretty expensive. Good sized pool though, so the kids were happy.
