When we checked in, there was an issue with your machine. I had to call my bank and confirm it wasn't them, which they did. The lady at the front desk was VERY nice, though, and sat on the phone for an hour to confirm next steps. She was able to manually charge my card and have me sign. I appreciate your staff taking care of it! Only minor complaint about my stay is that the AC unit wasn't working very well. Could only feel cool air if I stood next to it. Didn't really cool the room, though. Kind of uncomfortable sleeping while it was warm.

The location was close to town so as to make it a very useful location. The room was exactly what you expect from a Motel 6, clean, tidy and all you need for your stay. The Staff were very friendly and happy to help, in fact they went out of their way to offer help on more than one occasion. Being close a one of the main roads in to town was also very useful without it being noisy. Our stay was comfortable and easy and I would stay there again for sure.

Room was perfect for traveling with our dog. Exterior and interior were very clean. We spent the day at the pool which was very clean and refreshing! We will definitely return the next time we stay in Santa Barbara.

Well located hotels but housekeeping not done properly. Hair by ground and floor not washed.

Very clean, love the laminate flooring, much nicer than carpeting, staff very friendly and welcoming. Great bed, very comfortable. Very quiet and peaceful.

Is a crap is better the BES Wes in.

The room was clean. Every motel I stay at these days has hair dryers. I asked for one from the front desk, and they did not have any. There was a big draft coming if from the door. I realize that Motel 6 is an inexpensive motel, but in SB we did pay $200 for one night. I hoped for a coffee or hot water maker in the room. Every motel I stay at has that.

We were evacuated from Carpinteria and needed a hotel at the last minute come to find out the Motel 6 was such a great experience Debbie the manager there was absolutely fantastic and everybody there the coffee in the morning any question we needed even an extra pillow was provided immediately just unbelievable exceptional great service we highly recommend this hotel on Upper State Street the Motel 6 number to and again to Debbie and her crew thank you for everything you made our stay very pleasurable and made the tragic experience not so bad for us thank you so much again Rick and Alexis thank you.

We arrived with nothing of resevacion and thanks to them they had rooms deaponibles. The room was clean, cheap, and served pa what we were. Still, we were the clients of hell. We wore expensive extras without paying, and we went out late without the denial being brave. The workers are respectable and see behave in a professional way. I'm recommending PA when it's urgent.

The front desk staff was responsive and polite, and housekeeping did their job appropriately. Unfortunately, the facility is run down, and even after renovations the rooms have issues that make it feel squalid (ours, for example, had a toilet that would tilt about 10 degrees to the left when you sat on it, a sewer smell, a leaky showerhead connection, a small shelf that was hung crookedly, paint from the renovation smeared on the headboard, etc. ) The biggest issues came from frequently failing room keys or room door lock system, and the fact that attractive prices brought in an unattractive, noisy weekend crowd. I have stayed in many other Motel 6's that cost less and were in normal working order. So, while I recommend Motel 6 in general, I do not recommend this location unless someone from a high level of management in the company comes to oversee the renovation situation for awhile.

I like Motel 6 because we can bring our dog. That is so important to us. We have stayed at this Motel 6 several times. They are updating the rooms which is nice. However, the floor in our room was filthy. I think housekeeping forgot to mop it. It was really gross!

This was the nicest Motel 6 I've ever been to. All of the staff were extremely nice and helpful. We even got a phone call that we had left my son's watch in the room… who does that anymore? We will definitely stay here again!

This room was nothing more than a barren inhospitable place to lay one's head for the evening. No pictures on the wall, sparse bathroom with lack of counter space, antiquated showers. There were 2-things good about this place: 1-desk staff and location. I have stayed at Motel 6s in the past and this is the worst one. For $35 more we could have had breakfast and much better ambience.

The motel is very close to the beach. The room itself was dirty. It did not seem to have been cleaned after the last guest. The floors turned our feet black. My daughter crawled into bed and she could feel the sand in between the sheets (not from us. ) We had a blanket and pillow from home so we slept on top of the covers and used our own linens. The room smelled of cigarette smoke. It was quiet but we hardly slept because of the smell.

The lady who was the front desk attendant was awesome and very friendly. Generally the prices at Motel 6 have gone up way too much on the last couple of years. I'm not sure how much longer I'm going to stay Motel 6s as I am finding cheaper prices at better hotels.

The staff are very polite. They treat my friend with respect, even though he presents a scruffy, dirty appearance. He is a homeless man. A friend of mine, I take him to Motel 6 on days/nights when it is forecast to rain. Both my friend and I appreciate the dignity with which he is treated. I can assure you he is much cleaner, and less scruffy when he leaves. I wish there was a way to help more homeless people come in from the rain and enjoy a hot bath.

Regular Wifi, small towels and no soap or shampoo.

I have stayed through out the years at this Motel 6 and have had no complaints. This time I would not take a shower as the tub looked like it needed cleaning and it looked like mold around the tub. It was not mold nor did the tub need cleaning, on closer inspection the tub needed replacing. I was too tired to ask for a room change and had to leave for the airport in a few hours. The staff as usual was very helpful and friendly, but I will not stay again unless the room looks like it is clean.

Unlike my experience at Motel 6 in Stockton, My stay at Motel 6 Upper State street in Santa Barbara was wonderful. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful and I enjoyed my interactions with them at all different times of the day. Comfortable bed, friendly staff and safe surroundings… what else do you need for a delightful stay!

We reserved 2 down stairs handicap access rooms with fridge and microwave. Upon check in they only had one room down stairs that fit our reservation and they pretty much were not sorry. A take it or leave it attitude. Pretty lousy. Toilets are in no way handicap compatible, beds hard as rocks, and over all just a bit dirty. The positive is the location is good, and it felt like a safe place. Guess you cat expect much from a motel 6.

He lacks breakfast. They only give coffee. 4 room good, nice bathroom. They give towels. 30 USD a night.

I travel a lot and this is one of the worst places I have ever stayed. The room had a very strong odor of cleaning supplies. There was no closet. I could not even iron a shirt as there was no iron or ironing board. The bed was uncomfortable as it was a single mattress on a wood platform. The bathroom had no place to put my stuff except a 4" by 2 foot ledge. The room was basically a 10 x 10 foot room that you would see in a jail. Management should be ashamed for charging $200 dollars for this room. Especially with zero amenities.

The location was brilliant and also suited my last minute booking. Check in was a breeze. The room was a little cramped compared to similarly priced motels so one star off for that. The AC was quite noisy to the extent that it took us more than half an hour to fall asleep in spite of being very tired. We had realized after we had unpacked hence we didn't want to move rooms. Plus it was a busy weekend, we are unsure if our request to change would have been accommodated. I brought it up during check out, at least an apologetic reply would have been appreciated. But I felt like I just gave an information which is useless.

I stayed at the Motel 6 Santa Barbara a few days last month and again a few days ago. It's what one should expect… low income motel. Mattresses are hard as a rocks, cleaning jobs are about 70% (last one had last person's spit and toothpaste all over mirror), and it's noisy. I knew what I was getting when I registered but this second time I had to leave and cancel second night. I stayed in a first floor accessible due to spinal injury and inability to lug luggage up stairs to 2nd floor. As a woman traveling alone, my preference is always the highest floor but this time couldn't do it without an elevator. Floors are wooden, not carpeted, so whoever assigned a guest above me was not thinking clearly. They assigned a family with little kids above an 'accessible' room. People with disabilities have enough to struggle with, then to add a loud noisy family with little kids jumping off beds, above a 'disabled room' on top of that, was just too much. They need to be more cognizant of who they put above disabled rooms, especially with wooden floors. I'm a travel writer so I understand that in the hotel business they want 'heads in beds' no matter the cost but this time the cost was a customer leaving and getting a refund, a bad review, and telling everyone about it. It was not my best decision to stay there but finances dictated (they are the cheapest), and it was not their best decision to put a young family with little kids above a disabled room.

I know the facility is non smoking now, however the room still smelled like smoke. A complete cleaning a removal of old drapes and carpet is needed to remove the smell. I think it would be reasonable to have coffee makers in the room.

We drove down the coast for the night. Just needed a clean comfortable room for the night post Santa Barbara Bowl Show. The rooms are sharp and clean and the pool was comfortable. The beds are not the softest but better than the nearby small local hotels. Motel 6 is always a good option if you simply want a clean comfortable place to crash. Oh and the service is always good!

The staff was amazing and Debbie was very accommodating. I love that they allow pets because they were one of the only ones who didn't charge a fee. I also love the new look, it's very functional and contemporary. But I took 2 stars off because the sheets weren't comfortable and I was itching all night so there might be bed bugs. Also there was a leak in the ceiling and trash under the bed.

I have been staying at Motel 6 State St. Santa Barbara once a year for the last 12 years. This location is the best for doing my annual physical. Even though Sansum Clinic is expanding, opening new facilities, the state st location is still central to most Clinic locations. I try to be there in May because the summer brings tourists and an increasing high rates. The rooms are always clean so my stay is always good. Thanks.

Clean — basic motel 5 — expensive for the experience.

Pack your own shampoo and conditioner. Bring your own hair dryer. If you need a bath towel a larger than a common hand towel, bring that too. Bring slippers since the floors are cold linoleum. Be prepared for your mattress springs to make lots of noise if your average height and weight. And if you expect to get your AARP discount, don't forget your card at home.

Very quite, clean. Much cleaner than most Motel 6.6th year staying here…

Inevitably had to find accommodation and opted for this. Staff was very nice and helpful, room was very clean but slightly used… Only the extremely noisy room neighbours have disrupted.
Nearby, there are some good eating opportunities.

Everything was clean. The staff was very friendly. The towels were very small! Over all worth the money.

Nice place near Dennys free Wi-Fi and walking distance from motel The Wi-Fi is not free at motel $110.00 on Friday & $179.00 on Saturday it should be? $2.99 or $4.99 a day is ridiculous Rooms are clean the smell in room is cleaning a agent they use Free Wi-Fi would have given it 4 star's.

Bring on the TNT, we stayed in this place at the end of July 2015, the only reason being there was no other rooms available anywhere. A charge for internet, the only hotel we stayed in on our 2 week trip that charged for wi fi, the shower had no holder, water ran hot then cold, the carpet had not been cleaned for I don't know how long, breakfast consisted of a cup of cold coffee at the reception desk and to add injury to insult we were charged 140USD, WHIC WAS A COMPLETE AND UTTER RIP OFF, would I recommend this motel to my worst enemy, most certainly not!
