Position the strong point, even the cleanliness is fine, modest room but staying around all day, not bad as long as the bed is comfortable. Only flaws asking for a deposit on the room in my opinion excessive (100th) but above all poorly specified in advance.

Literally my worst hotel experience ever. Clock radio is also USB charger that is easily set to go off at 6am if lightly nudged while plugging in. Alarms around the entire floor therefore went off simultaneously at 6am. The ancient steam heating is stuck on 'cook everybody alive'. The room has cheap threadbare curtains that let in plenty of light. There is NO parking despite contrary claims and only one staff member on duty so can't imagine how the expensive valet parking might work. The area is extremely noisy and the room was directly over a loading bay. Someone was loading recycling onto a truck in the street until after midnight, morning was reversing trucks and general clatter. Conversations in the corridor were loud and go right through the door, exacerbated by people waiting patiently for the single elevator. In the morning there was a strong smell of someone smoking in another room. Room is tiny, decor is dated, there are no facilities, shower is over an ancient narrow claw foot bathtub with a 2 1/2 foot step up that actually rocks while standing in it which is terrifying, sink has one tiny and fragile glass shelf for toileteries directly over the toilet. Toilet paper holder is literally on the other side of the bathroom and unreachable without a walk. Only 3 towels were provided for the 4 of us.

The marketing for this hotel is inaccurate. The rooms are suffocating and hot with no ac units. The entire place is uncomfortable and small. The hostel around the corner is much nicer and you can stay at the Marriott for less than what we had to pay. We booked the hotel within two hours of checking in and once we walked into the hotel room and knew we could not stay at this hotel due to its extremely uncomfortable and unsettling atmosphere, we kindly asked for a refund as we would be staying at a different hotel. The woman at the front desk had zero remorse and an extreme lack of empathy. She sounded like a robot exclaiming “that is our booking policy” “sorry that is our booking policy” over and over. Once I asked to speak to the manager, she put me through to a woman who was much nicer and understanding who tried to offer me a 30% refund. After I exclaimed I would not accept anything less than 50% due to the inaccurate marketing of the bedroom, she accepted. However, we should hvs received a full refund as this is highway robbery in my opinion. The woman behind the front desk was rude and barely spoke a word once I was off the phone with the manager as we waited for the printed confirmation. As I mentioned, stay at the hostel around the corner which is much nicer and have extremely friendly customer reps, or pay less than this hotel and stay at the Marriott down the street. Unsatisfactory customer service.

Great location! Don't bring a car and just bird or Uber everywhere. Rooms are small and no ac but didn't stay during the summer so can't attest to how hot it might get, stayed in April and did leave the windows open and fan running the whole stay to stay comfortable. Plesant staff, reasonable price.

Very comfortable hotel with new beds and adequate bathrooms. Great location, convenient for everything downtown. Would stay again!

Great location and clean rooms. Other than that this is a very basic hotel. There is no AC, just a ceiling fan and an old room heater. No microwave and no breakfast within the building. There is free coffee. The hotel is in a great location and the area is relatively hobo free. Lot of good eating joints nearby. Good hotel for ppl on a budget. Overall I liked my stay here but next time I will choose a full service hotel.

I loved the stay at this hotel, although it was only one night. Very cozy, clean and central. Excellent staff.

Great location off of Union Square, just half a block from the China town Dragon Gate.

Good service. Room is small but comfortable and clean. No free bottled water, they charge 3.50 per bottle. Valet parking is an extra 50, and they do not have any parking for the hotel. Good location in the financial district right next to Chinatown.

Great location, near Chinatown. Quality rooms affordable for San Francisco.

Good location. The only problem is that the heating was not going and the temperature was somewhat below what we would have liked.

Great location, service, cleanliness, price, nice views from some of the room. No breakfast but Starbucks and other cafes close by, good for short stays. Free coffee and wine nights in the lobby!

A great hotel. Good price. And close to the downtown and Chinatown. The personal is very nice, but they should have more information of the tours of the city or attractions. Also it lacks a snack and soda machine, which are useful when you arrive late. Anyway, I will recommend this hotel. Price and location are great.

It's OK. Stayed in Rm1006 on a business trip. Beds are really comfortable, pillows are amazing. Slept really well but but the rest of the room is starting to feel really dated. There's no climate control or AC, bathrooms look and feel old and the Wi-Fi connection in my room (which was top floor, in a corner) was utterly awful. No faster than 700kb/s. I didn't pay for the room but I heard it was the cheapest hotel room at the time so I can't complain much really considering SF prices. You get what you pay for.

Room was nice & clean. Good size for a two bed room, good condition for an older building. Service was good, no wait for valet. Shower is small, but it's a boutique hotel, right? Hallway smells kind of musty, but again, it's an older building. Cool lobby, modern, but still holds the original feel of the building. Liked the touchscreen TV, was able to send a selfie via email. Great location, Uber pick up wasn't hard. Great place.

Hotel. Our room was spacious but still big city hotel small. Everything clean. The Bagelladen around the corner is great for breakfast. For a few days SFO we found it good.

Charming little hotel. I had a really nice room with plenty of space and a nice retro feel to it. Chinatown and Financial District are really close. Couldn't have asked for more.

Center of metropolis. Decent area. Small, plain, clean rooms. Blank, and standard. Great for business trips. Near gates to Chinatown and many city tech offices.

This is a great hotel, it's small but I love it. It is extremely clean with a frendly and attentive staff. No air conditioning but the ceiling fan is great and beds are comfy and it's close to many popular places. Simple but comfy and everything you need.

Cute hotel and nice employees. Loved the idea of guests getting a bottle of wine in their rooms! Elevator was a bit troublesome (and small) but otherwise a very enjoyable stay.

Wish I had booked more than one night. Great location, felt safe walking around late a night alone. Definitely recommend.

Coffee comes out of a syrup machine (freshly brewed? ). Bathroom amenities not restocked on our second day. Hair on towels and bathroom floor when we walked in our first day. Would have discussed with front desk staff, but it may have been too early for them. They were unavailable.

Negative experience. The hotel is located between Chinatown and union square. Good location. However, the hotel looks very old and room is very small, which is common in SF. The tub in our room is clogged. Your feet will soak in water in 3 minutes. No coffee machine in the room. Generally speaking, they don't have any amenities and services that you can think of.

Do not stay here! Their affiliated food service provider recorded my credit card information for a food purchase and used it fraudulently. They placed multiple charges on my credit card before my credit card company stopped them! The hotel has done nothing to ensure that this affiliated service is secure. Do not stay here! Besides this most egregious offense, the beds are hard, the heat doesn't work and the rooms could be more clean.

Very basic room. Clean and tidy, road noise will get to you after a few days.

We went in mid-august. the hotel's location and cost CANNOT BE BEAT. We got a room with queen bed for under $100/night. The hotel is located right in the center of it all. Steps away from the china town gates and union square. the room was clean and simply done while having the main basics available for guests. The concierge/front desk was very helpful and friendly. one downside I saw was paying for Wi-Fi. And when you paid for it, it only allowed one computer on at a time. Alternatively, you could just head over to the starbucks, grab a drink and sit down with their Wi-Fi. overall, the value could not be beat and I would certainly book there again.
