Orchard Garden is one of my most favorite hotels ever. Comfortable accommodations. Super friendly staff. And free, fresh, cold, filtered water whenever you need it! :) We had a view of an alley and that didn’t matter at all because everything else in the hotel was amazing! We’d definitely stay here anytime we’re in SF.

Convenient location but rooms are not much to look at and view was not great from room. Pull out couch was broken and they wouldn't bring us a cot. From roof great view but no restaurant/bar up top. Bring your own booze/speaker it could be nice. Very conveniently located right next to China Town. Easy walk down to markets by the Pier (pretty far from Pier 39).

Great and beautiful hotel. Wish breakfast was complimentary but that doesn't take away from the atmosphere. Staff is friendly as well.

Stayed here for Bay to Breakers and it was PERFECT! Reasonable prices, beautiful hotel, super nice staff.

Great place stayed there for our demo in SF bay. Its the best price for this location we walked everywhere for our meetings.

A great hotel with very high standing, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the hotel is ideally located in the very center of the city! The staff is extraordinarily nice and helpful, and the breakfast served at the restaurant has a large variety of delicious dishes.

Decent hotel for the price point. Bed was comfortable but nothing lavish. My room, fishing but Street, has lots of natural light. Missing some Modern amenities like outlets or USB ports on bedside lamps, on the other hand surprisingly had Google Chromecast on the TV as well as Netflix and Amazon Prime apps in the TV. Also the elevator was surprisingly fast and responsive even though I was on the 8th floor and constantly coming in and out I never had to wait more than 15 or 20 seconds. Valet parking offers free in and out but it does take about 20 minutes to get your car as they park it down the street. Also it's $55 a night which seems to be about the range in San Francisco. If you wanted to self parked on the street you probably could save 20 bucks or so per night, but read the fine print since not all places offer free in and out.

I appreciated the hotel cleanliness and room comfort. I however felt the light-honey birch wood furniture paired with the flower details throughout made the place feel like a hospital.

I booked this through an offer on Hotwire for 4 stars and above hotel in Union Square district. The beds are comfy, room size is good, and has all the amenities one needs. What I didn't like was the very loud doors that woke me up when people came in and out. I also found at least in my room 303 the lowest volume on the TV was very loud. They do have a great shoe shine around the corner from lobby you should try out.

Stayed here for Dreamforce. Everything was great. Quiet night sleep. Nice clean and modern room. Nice location.

Pretty nice hotel with pretty friendly staff. It does not really have a gym that one could call a gym unless a treadmill is all you need. Also for a 4 star hotel, the TV in the rooms need an upgrade — what they have I would have given away on Freecycle.

My new preferred choice for San Francisco/Union Square area. Stayed in a few hotels nearby, this is by far best to my liking. I prefer modern, elegant hotels. This one is all of that plus takes care for the environment (' Green Hotel '). The room was spacious and clean and well equipped. Location is very good, a lot of attractions nearby. Free Wi-Fi, a free bottle of water for welcome and some sweets — small things which can make a difference. And all for a very reasonable price despite holiday season.

I have booked this hotel through Expedia and mistakenly have chosen wrong dates which happens. Called within 10 minutes of reservation to cancel it or rebook for the following day and zero cooperation from any of the managers I spoke with next day (none of the managers were present who have authority to make any changes to reservations are on site after 10pm and start working at 8am). I have stayed at hotels in multiple countries in Europe and USA and this was the most uncooperative encounter of all. Two stars just for the nice receptionist who advised me on how to proceed with my claim in the beginning. UPDATE: the orchard garden hotel reply below is a complete bogus. I booked through Expedia and their rep with me on the line was calling hotel multiple times asking to cancel reservation and it was the hotel rep who did not wish to do anything. Expedia did a top notch service with follow up calls, etc. It's a shame how the orchard garden hotel tries to shift the attention to third party.

Rooms are very comfortable even if they are a little small. It's not bad for a big city hotel in this sort of location. Right next to Chinatown and only a short trip to north beach, little italy, and the piers. The staff really makes this place great. They are extremely friendly and helpful and really want you to have a great experience. The closers and bathrooms are roomy and the shower is fantastic. I think this hotel is a great choice if you want to be right in the middle of everything San Francisco has to offer.

The location is great for access to the financial district. Plenty of bars and restaurants within 5 minutes walk. Less then 10 minute walk to subway. Literally next door to the Dragon Gate and Chinatown.
The hotel is a little dated and the restaurant is only open for breakfast.

The hotel staff was nice, the beds were comfy and it is right next to the gates of Chinatown but our window looked out into a homeless camp and the whole energy saving thing is good.

The hotel is nice and well situated. Rooms are not looking super fresh but do the job. 3 stars only due to the car valet: it took over 45 minutes to get the car back outside of any peak hour. It would have been nice to know it would take this long so we could ask for the car before check-out or find another solution.

Hotel was fine until on two separate occasions they over charged us 4 nights two separate times. And refused to return the funds. Told us we need to call our bank and take care of it
They offered no assistance what so ever. Our account got locked on the 4th of july holiday because of all the strange charges. So we were stuck in sf woth no cash and no way to get home. Front desk said thwy would call back its now yhe fifth and we have heard nothing.

It was my birthday day weekend an the people were rude the only person that had good customer service was the server when we went an got breakfast other than that they treated us like people who couldn't afford to stay there.

Great they take pride in being GREEN with just about everything in the hotel. Rooms were kind of cramped but the beds were nice and the front desk is very accommodating. The hotel carpets could use a very deep cleaning or should be replaced more often.

This is one of the many hotels in the touristy part of SF. It's close to a lot of shopping. They claim to be the greenest hotel in SF. The rooms were fine, not particularly nice, but in general they were good. The staff was very courteous and helpful.

I give the 4 stars to the employees, not the hotel. I would rate the hotel 2 stars if it wasn't for the amazing people who bend over backwards for your needs. The amenities were dated (no HD programming and there was a DVD player in 2016 in one of the biggest metropolis in the US), drawers refused to stay closed, scuffed baseboards, mold/mildew in the shower and sink. To reiterate: the staff is amazing, both the front desk and doormen were incredibly helpful.

Fantastic service. Excellent front desk and doorman. Room was clean, linens fresh, and LEED certified (energy efficient). Downsides included lackluster water pressure, outdated tech (old TV, no HD programming, and a DVD player? ), mold/mildew in Bath corners, scuffs on baseboard, a dresser drawer that would not close at all and kept popping open. I would stay here again just for the friendly and helpful staff, but not at the general room rate. Location was ideal as it is centrally located to downtown and convenient.

Great location in the heart of it all. Near Chinatown and within walking distance of plently of places to eat, see and do. The rooms are very nice and the bed is very comfortable. This is the greenest hotel in San Fransisco, or so they claim. You must insert your door card in a terminal near the door to activate any of the lights, etc. That was a bit confusing at first when I tried to use the restroom in the dark but it feels like it makes sense. Overall great experience.

Very hostile. Treats their employees like garbage. I heard the doorman scream at the busser for being too loud cleaning the dishes. Appalling.

Long time waiting on check in due to not having reservation in their system. Generally good experience.

The location was ideal since it is a 10 step walk to the entrance to China town and is a good central spot for downtown. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable. I think the price I paid for this hotel was worth it. I'd stay here again.

Great service, the rooms are very clean.

Great Hotel located right on the edge the financial district and right next to China town. I stayed here while attending conferences in the mascone. The walk is about 12 minutes and easy to do. I would easily stay here again. The rooms were basic and comfortable. Who needs anything special when you spend all day at a conference and dinners. There are also some excellent food choices surrounding the hotel.

Terrible place! They lost our reservation even though we booked six weeks in advance, had a confirmation number, and even called to confirm with their employee! At least they had the decency to send us to another hotel and call ahead to make us reservations there.
