The location was perfect. Walking distance from all of the must see places in town.

SF Plaza was a good fit for my work trip. The beds were comfortable and it was clean. The only dowsides were the outside noise and the showerhead being too low to easily wash my hair.

Good location in San Francisco. Don't expect a modern, upgraded hotel.

Hotel is clean and staff is pretty friendly. There is a continental breakfast. It's not much for breakfast, but it's fresh. Hotel has ok Wi-Fi, not as secure as I'd like it, but it's not bad. Not many outlets in the rooms. No central air, but there is a ceiling fan and the window does open.

Very well located at a reasonable price, Sandy and Nathan were really helpful, Cris always acted smart, they only have fans and no ac, they have shuttle buses to the airport also which was quite nice.

Clean room, good service and breakfast. I'm taking off one star because of the inconvenient airport shuttle service. They don't have shuttle to pick you up from airport, and they only can give you a ride to the airport from the hotel. Thing is that, my flight was not until later the night after I checked out, and they do not have space to store my luggage until i'm ready to go to the airport. So I took my luggage with me and store it else where, but in this case they won't give me a ride from elsewhere.

I rode my bike from work to the hotel only to find out that I couldn’t keep my bike in my room. They wouldn’t make an exception. Fair enough. The gentlemen at the front counter would not let me leave my $1200 bike in the lobby for 15 minutes while I changed. I under stand policy, but the ability for him not to help me out for 15 mins is inexcusable. I will not be staying at this hotel again.

I stayed at a nice hotel years back called the Astoria near the Grant entrance to Chinatown. Is this the same place? Everything looks different.

Good location If you don't know English well don't worry because the staff doesn't know much either.

Cris was an awesome host. Made me feel very welcome. Rooms and elevator were a bit old fashioned but that was not an issue. Love the location as it was easy to walk into Chinatown for a quick bite. The lady in charge of breakfast was rude. I warmed up some noodles for 3 minutes and she came and yelled at me and said it was too long. She made "tsk" noises while she tried to change the time to 2 minutes. I came for a vacation, I didn't come to feel like I was at home with my mom teaching me how to cook my noodles. I'm old enough and I have a child of my own… I know how to cook and of course I'm Asian so we know how to cook our noodles. I like my noodles to be a little softer and I didn't have time to wait for my noodles to cook itself; especially not while I'm on a vacation. I would have rate it 5 stars if it wasn't for that one rude staff who didn't make me feel like I was wanted.

Room is small but clean, and certainly old fashioned. Steps from Dragon Gate, parking across the street for a fair price. May stay again, although not the Ritz, and right on a main street with all it's downtown clientele… not too bad. It's obvious they try to keep up the place.

This was the worst hotel ever. We had a room right next to the Düftigen breakfast room where the staff spoke loudly each morning and we couldn't sleep anymore. The breakfast was extremely inferior you never felt comfortable. The room has only one radiator, no air conditioning. There is no hair dryer in the room as mentioned. And they made our room just every other day! They did not have hotel parking because our rental car was towed when we parked in front of the hotel, the receptionist did not even help us or gave us a telephone number. The hotel was always stunk and in front of the hotel were always homeless who asked us about cigarettes. And one of the receptionists asked us every day whether we still have his so à la, the hotel is anyway sch * * * * e How can you stay here for so long?

Rooms were fine for the price and only a mile from the piers.

A very good place to stay either for a weekend or entire week. Its location almost at the heart of SF FD: at a walking distance from the Union Square, Embarcadero, "shopping district" of the Market street is an advantage for those who travel. Have I not mentioned the famous Dragon's Gate hugging the hotel's building and saxophone concerts down Grant avenue in the evening? The rooms and elevator are somewhat old-fashioned, like those in many other buildings in Chinatown. Nevertheless, it creates that impression of old SF and unforgettable atmosphere. The hotel's room service and breakfast facilities are good enough. If you feel romantic sometimes and passionate for travelling, this place will probably suit you.

Great location, good service, spacious rooms, clean towels and bathroom. But, very limited choices in complimentary breakfast.

Room was small with no AC and smelled musky. It was a nice and relatively clean place and the location was great to get to union square and bars nearby. Breakfast room was awkward and cramped. For one night this place is alright. For anything more I would recommend something nicer.

Hotel just at entrance of Chinatown. It's quite noisy, even with closed windows. Half of the receptionists are not friendly (others are). The corridors and the rooms smell not so good. There is no air-conditioning in the room. When we opened the water in the bath, some brawn water fell in the beginning. Despite these bad points, the hotel is well centered.

The staff was nice. The rooms are a little out dated. Very small for the price you pay and no A/C. Normally San Francisco is chilly but A/C is still nice instead of opening a window. TV in the room wouldn't even turn on.

Affordable, clean, pleasent and kind staff.

Terrible beds… Like sleeping on the floor… Bathroom was tiny and toiletries were minimal at best. The continental breakfast was a joke! Never again…

Over priced. Unclean. Not maintained. Cheap Furniture, Expensive rooms. Bad Place don't stay here unless you're paying $50 a night with breakfast. Lots of other hotels near here that is much more worth than here. Mosquitoes will never let you sleep at nights.

The receptionist was rude and was slurring her words. The room was hot and had no air conditioning besides a small heater and a window that didn't open more than two inches. It was a horrible hotel and we had to pay for parking which was almost $60. Wasn't a good experience.

Think bare minimum. I had to discover the 1 outlet. No air conditioning (it's the hot week in SF). No fan. The room phone didn't work to call the front desk. It's supposed to be non smoking yet the hallway smells of smoke and the front desk didn't care. Bathroom meds to be scrubbed. Spend the extra cash and stay somewhere else. In addition, I have numerous (more than 20) bug bites (they look like mosquito bites) from sleeping overnight here. Front desk staff didn't care.

For the state of the hotel, I thought it would be cheaper than it is. I guess the location is very good but for the price I am paying I would have expected a slightly higher class of hotel.
