I liked it here and I will be back. It's just a simple room with a queen bed and a sink. I loved it, stayed in room 215. I loved the view, the tragic noise all night, and the location. Walking distance to everything! Bathrooms were shared on the same floor, everything was fine. Don't expect fancy anything, this isn't the place for that. It's also not for sensitive, complainy people either. Outlets worked, soap and shampoo packets in the room and clean sheets. I don't ask for much.

This is a nice place 2 stay on a budget. The rooms are very basic yet CLEAN w/ ur choice of a private bath or paying less 4 using the shared the shared bath. It's kind of in a seedy part of town right next 2 the strip clubs, so I wouldn't recommend 4 kids-however there ARE amazing restaurants, the cathedral plus hundreds of amazing China Town shops all around u. Just be forewarned: no lift, lots of narrow nearly vertical stairs& nobody 2 assist w/ ur luggage. There IS a bus stop right out front which is convenient.

Run away please, do not try to stay there, if there is one review to listen to I hope it's this one. We didn't stay we flead. I have stayed in hostals, cars, trucks, dirt roads, benches, parks, hotels all around. And this is the worst. I been in sketchy motels in mexico and they looked 4 stars next to this dump that doubles as a brothel not joking there is a nude bar left and right wich I don't mind but they use that hotel to do business bathrooms are shared and plain disgusting more than Tijuanas bus station bathrooms. Rooms smells bad, the smell will follow you around be aware.

Wi-Fi is non-existent. The staff has no clue how crucial this is to international travelers — giving great irony to the hotel name. No coffee/tea. Extremely hot rooms. Use as a last resort. A hostel would be better if you don't need your own bathroom.

A gaping hole, burgowed souls, howling with the Ssulyans. Get ready.

Great location but strip clubs are loud until about 2 am. No private restroom but was not an issue. No A. C. Unit in room I stayed in. Biggest complaint is the stained sheets.

The place itself is quite dirty and smelly, but not too disgusting. There are plenty of amazing restaurants around, as the place is in close vicinity of Chinatown and italian joints. There are also several go go clubs, two of them on both sides, right next to the entrance, so it might not be the best place for families. Still, I feel it was worth its money.

I didn't like it. Old, dirty, noisy, etc. Good location.

Room 103 is AMAZING staff is attentive and friendly. A neat, affordable find in the city.

This is not exactly a hotel in the modern American sense of the word — it's a series of cubes that more closely resembles a dormitory. The individual rooms have sinks but no bathroom. The bathrooms are in the center of the building — extremely annoying when you have to pee in the middle of the night. Those bathrooms definitely show their age too. In addition, the halls absolutely reek of smoke (various types) and the music from the clubs below isn't muffled much by the ancient building's construction. This was the cheapest hotel that appeared on our search, but it's a 'you get what you pay for' situation.

The people who leave bad reviews here must think they're staying at a 5 star resort. You get what you pay for. There was nothing wrong with the rooms. They even came with a microwave, fridge and sink which I wasn't expecting. There's a giant window to open because they don't have A. C. But you don't really need it. It is above strip clubs, but no one tried to touch us. It's not super loud at night either, like others say. It's right off Chinatown which is convenient for us tourists. It's cheap. The bathrooms are cleaned often. The staff is very friendly and helpful! They even let us check in early! They don't come in your room to clean unless you ask them to, which can add to your peace of mind if you don't like leaving your stuff without a locker. There are tons of great restaurants within walking distance. I likely will stay here again next November and I would suggest it to anyone.

This has not earned a better rating. It's filthy, it stinks pathetic, it's smoky and full of defects on every corner and edge. It was with $70 certainly very convenient for the city centre. So we didn't expect much. But Pothead and junkies in and around the hotel was really corrosive! The communal showers were filthy and defective. Those who have to stay here should be warned, it's just a hole!

If you come to San Francisco and you have low budget is a good place to stay. It is economical, does not provide breakfast but the important thing is that it is close to almost everything. The area has good transport and there are restaurants that suit our pocket. The bathroom is outside the room but it is neat that is what we are interested in. Sl2

You get what you pay for. The room is of an old standard, it is not very clean but just cheap. Free Wi-Fi. Attention: no private bathroom.

A little sloppy, many stairs to climb with luggage, but the location is central.

Checked in was told a different price over the phone than in person. Got to our room, and went to open the fridge and it smelled like mold and did not work. Blanket has burn holes in it. The bed is very hard. So after my boyfriend and I checked the room out, we went downstairs to ask the guy at the front desk if we can get another room and he said no the rooms with shared bathrooms are booked. We asked if we can get a room with a bathroom in it. He said no because we didn’t ask for it in the first place. He was really rude about it. I definitely do NOT recommend this hotel.

A hostel very basic in every way but it has good location (very close to Chinatown) and is economic.

Relatively cheap hotel compared to the rest of the city. However, not a maid, which did not bother me very much. Room clean. Shared bathroom was OK. There is a shuttle to the airport for $15.

The Wi-Fi is pretty much non existent, you don't change the towels, the room was not spotless and the value for money is pretty good although for that amount you expect something more.

Righto, this is an 'interesting' part of San Francisco (or is it all like that? ) but it is somewhat close to everything (except perhaps the BART station which felt like a bit of a hike on the way in and out, since I wanted to keep public transit connections to a minimum). I checked in after 11pm after passing through the security buzzer entrance downstairs, so that was interesting with the security cameras and all — but I guess that made it safe? 24-hour desk up the stairs, so I suppose any issues should be able to be resolved. Check-out is normally around 11am, but having called earlier, I was granted a 12-noon checkout so there's that. Luggage storage was charged at $5 per suitcase though payable by cash-only so that seemed a little odd but whatever, maybe it's a San Francisco thing. The other reviewers aren't making it up — the floor in my room (2nd floor) was sloped at the window, sink & mirror was situated in the corner of the room and not with the toilet and shower so felt a little bit weird/budget. Area around the sink was also wet when I arrived despite checking in so late so that made me wonder about the staff's attention to detail. Toilet roll dispenser was more like a stub in the wall (see pic) so that was kind of amusing but of no ill consequence (but the roll wasn't a new one so I had to request an extra). Just lacklustre all-round for things that shouldn't be difficult — they're not super important things, but they signal a lack of care in general.

I was there for not even 10minutes before I wanted too leave. No ac so the room was hot and stuffy. Dirt everywhere. Very awkward to carry suitcases in, they have a reasonably tall but very narrow staircase and I struggled to carry suitcases up it, they offered no help. There's a strip club next door so really not a great place to bring kids. The only thing this hotel had going for it with me was the fridge. I previously stayed in a 3 star and 4 star hotel and they had no fridge. So this was a very welcomed feature. However my overall impression is very negative. Only stay here if you can't find anywhere that is better and within your budget.

You get what you pay for. The rooms are dated and basic but they are clean and tidy. The staff at reception are very helpful. The shared bathrooms on the floor could do with being restocked on basics like hand soap and toilet roll a little more frequently but other than that it's a great place to just get your head down for the night. Great location, would probably stay there again.

Great location in the Close to financial district — — always felt safe, it's a couple blocks to Bart, and walking distance to the Ferry Building, the Fisherman's Wharf, China Town and many other popular destinations. When we booked we were bit nervous because the price was really cheap compare to other hotels near by however the Rooms were clean and nice. Front desk was friendly and helpful.

I come on a budget. To SF to see and experience SF outside of a hotel room. I don't need 5-star comforts. I am low maintenance. I don't careless if the bathrooms and toilets are shared. As long as they are available & clean (always are every time I go) and have TP (always do) The bed is comfortable (very) when you're up and about the whole day. (or night) this small set up is in the thick of activities. It's where Lil China meets Lil Italy in the day. The next street back is deserted in the night. It's where Colombus meets Broadway. I walk out of regular ordinary doorway. And there is Mexican food, Chinese, Indian, Italian n more within walking distance. There's adult entertainment. I just need a place to drop n keep my stuff n sleep wen I am tired. Europa is where I can do that. No fuss. From my room. Beautifull street view. Day & night.

Worst place ever. Not what pica show. Loud windows are paper thin. You're above 2 strip clubs and bars. Busy hwy. Full size bed. No a. C. Shared bathroom and you hear doors slamming all night and people in Hall on way to bathroom. Rooms smell. No parking had to park blocks away at the cops parking garage to ensure car was safe. Rude check in personnel. Absolutely no sleep. Only reason we stayed is we had tickets to akatraz next morning.

The room is very small and the price is good.

I stayed here for one night (5/29/16) with a private bathroom. The room was small and so was the bathroom. Has Wi-Fi and cable. Pretty decent for the price. Only complaint is that it had a weird smell in the room and the window wouldn't open and when I managed to open it, it wouldn't stay up. Lol. Other than that, Great location, fair price, and ok overall.

Two stars *AT BEST* — the managemnent is poor, the rooms are small, they smell a bit strange (being generous) and the hotel is barely on the edge of being 'well-kept'. I stayed ONE night here because I had to — when I tried to cancel the reservation I had made on Orbitz, the management told me that I couldn't cancel the WHOLE thing, and that I had to pay $81 cancellation fee — _on a $61 room! _. Also, NO GUESTS without ID (which is, in fact illegal in the City of San Francisco) and a fee of $10 (also illegal). Worse still, access afterhours is difficult, if not impossible, and the crowds in North Beach don't help the overall stay environment. I do not recommend the place, and suggest avoiding it. You can find MUCH better accomodations elsewhere, like Hotel North Beach. — SKIP IT —

The Shitiest Hotel For Starters I Checked In There's A Big Hole In The Wall Woah. Later On Through Out The Day I Kept Seeing A Fair Amount Off Roaches In My Room Gross. To Find Out They Were Coming From The Hole Go Figure The Guy At The Front Desk That I Told The Problem Seemed Very Nonchillant And Rude The Overall Rating Oh This Hotel Is A Half A Star Also The Maids Have There Children Coming Inside the hotel roomsAnd running down the hallway that was really unexceptable!

Dennis V. McGuire Tonight, less than 30 minutes ago, I caught some less than rational woman, rifiling my drawers of my hotel room. How was she able to come into the hotel uninterupted, go upstairs, break into my room, then scream bloody murder, when I force her to get out, under a barrage of blows, (girlie blows) but they stung none the less. Loud and the electrical outlets suck (Things don't stay plugged in well), but a great value. Know what you are getting! The cheapest rooms are shared bathrooms.

The hotel operator was very professional, but almost to a point of being bureacratic. The room was ok. Most SF hotels are what they are, no private bathroom, no air circulation. Above a strip joint. With the weather being hot, cheap room fans are a great investment.
