We stayed one night here at Tommy's Guest House and it was a lovely experience.

I came past the cafe and grabbed a sandwich and a hashbrown to go.
The best sandwich and hashbrown I have had in many years!
Very nice owners, cute cafe.

Responsive host, really fun stay at an adorable train station, beautiful sweet rooms, nice place to stay when visiting Koyasan if you don’t care to stay at the temples.

Very nice and friendly person to deal with. Location is superb short walking distance from railway station. Cozy and clean atmosphere. Will still choose this property if I ever come back again.

I loved my stay here. The guesthouse is simple and quite remote, but extremely peaceful, with beautiful nature all around. The room was traditional japanese style and everything was perfectly clean.

Simon is a very caring host. The room is a traditional Japanese room with a nice view. Great point to start the Komano Kodo if you are hiking!

It looks a little run down from the outside but the rooms have been recently renovated and are clean and spacious. Staff were very kind. We stayed in the Japanese style family room.

Went for 3 nights and it was a really nice stay! The receptionist and all those i've stumbled upon during my stay have been very warm and welcoming!

Comfortable traditional Japanese lodging. Wonderful host. Close to Asso station. HIGHLY recommended.

For the price, this hotel is unbeatable. The room does look dated but it is clean nevertheless. The onsen is decent and has a lovely sea view.

I don’t know why people gave 2 or 3 stars. I think this one is the best hotel in that area. Service is great.

Modern hotel and rooms are very clean. Good sea view. Complimentary onsen facility next to Kushiro market, about 10 minutes walk from hotel.
Hotel is very strict about check in time.

You can enjoy fresh seafood by BBQ in the facility. There is a beach nearby, so Kuroshio Onsen is the best place to let the tide on your body flow.

Budget friendly. The private room had a squat toilet but bath is common.
No complaints for the price.
And the guy manning the reception speaks decent English.

This is an old-fashioned guesthouse. Very convenient as close to train station. The host Ken is very friendly and speaks English very well.

Absolutely wonderful from arrival to departure. Food, views, hospitality and accommodations just perfect. Would have loved to stay longer.

If you ever wonder how it feels sleeping on the floor as you saw in Japanese movies, this is the house for your group. The only thing short of perfect is that there is only one toilet and one shower.

Starting the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage being hosted by Giovanni and Yutaka is a privilege. They run a beautiful farmhouse with gorgeous sunset.

Amazing! Best meals of our trip and so cool to stay in this old Japanese home. Make sure to check out the goat farm and the sunset. Very kind hosts made you feel right at home.

Staying for 2 nights. Just the the very first day already feel the staffs are very nice & helpful. Have staff who is able to communicate in english. Room though small but clean, cosy and equipped.

This is a hotel with limited parking space and without a lift.
But the atmosphere is great and the room is clean.

This is a fun hotel! Nice size room and great full deep bath perfect after long day of walking. Even has a TV in the bathroom. Very friendly staff and good value for money.

I recently stayed at this hotel in December 2025 and now I’m considering traveling to a similar place in another town.

We really enjoyed our stay at Musashi. The hospitality was next level and we felt so welcomed by the staff.

If you are looking for a place to rest after hiking all day and near the train station this is a perfect spot.

There's so much going for this hotel, but it's one of those don't judge a book by its cover.
The ocean view from the room is spectacular. The buffet breakfast and dinner, awesome.

Aside from its rooms and service, smorgasbord lunch and bakery shop are famous. Also, "GIANT" bicycle shop is at the gate. Even if you do not stay, this place is worth to visit.

Stayed last night with my family.
Very nice view from all rooms to the bay, as the hotel is located uphill.
Service was fine and my kids were happy to stay there.

Pros:
— Great view from all the rooms.
— Good sized onsen with a variety of baths.
— Near bus stop, or front desk will call a taxi for you.
— Rooms are a great size for the price.

Very close to Wakayama JR station. The staff was very polite and the room was massive actually. I was so surprised by how large the room was and I booked a standard one. Clean and spacious.

I met a guy called the Hatter there. He said we could do anything we want as long as we play some kind of games. Then we played a Game called Witch hunt or something like that. Great experience btw.

It was FANTASTIC! I was at the pool area then I realised a game had started. 10 of hearts? anyways I rushed to the main building and everyone was panicking.
