Ike San is a great host. Speaks good English and several other languages. His okonomiyagi is yummy and most order. Home cook style meals and lunch box prepared by his Okāsan is yummy too.

Wonderful stay at Chikatsuyu — totally recommended. Super easy to find after the walk and conveniently located across the bus stop. Excellent hospitality by the owner.

The Hotel feels fresh and new.
Room is cozy (small) with fresh linen and toiletries needed. Note: the reception area has accessories like toothbrush, cotton buds etc.

My wife and I were surprised by the sweet gesture during our stay. It was our honeymoon trip around Wakayama, the hotel was really a cozy, rooms were clean and spacious for Japanese standard.

A most wonderful onsen hotel. The onsen is perfect, with 2 indoor onsens, and an outdoor onsen with a Zen garden. There's a view to die for from the onsen and the rooms.

Great value for money. Clean, modern, newish, efficient, and 5 min walk from the main train station and bus station. It was a great transit point for us before starting on the Komono Kodo trail.

Comfortable rooms in traditional Japanese guesthouse. The owner is very nice and makes a delicious dinner and breakfast. We loved our time there.

This is a wonderful hotel with an amazing family running it. Their friendly hospitality, food and personalised approach to service is exceptional.

Great find. Friendly service, interesting food selection. Onsen facilities inside. Inside decor is a mix of traditional and eclectic. Rooms are the classic tatami mat style.

Lovely facility atop a hill. Warm room with good bedding. No staff on-site, but facility is well stocked. It has a washer and dryer.

A great accommodation with nice facilities, but it requires some work to check in. Three day prior to our check-in date, they sent us a four-digit number to enter a small booth by the entrance.

Spacious room, comfortable beds and cosy duvets. Close to the station.
Stair access was steep to the room and to the kitchen.

The location is excellent 5 mins away from train station the owner runs a restaurant downstairs very convenient as well basic ¥2900 per night very affordable.

Browsing through photos taken more than 10 years ago, guesthouse owner is friendly n thoughtful. He placed two warmer under our blanket during the chilly winter weather.

This is a small but lovely and peachfull hostel. I feel like home here and Kojisan is very kind and friendly. He speak English very well and really willing to help me everything.

I have stayed in many hotels in Japan and this is in my top five. Really top drawer in every aspect. If I had to find something to complain about, it would be the lack of restaurants in the area.

The toilet was interesting, and the room was really good. Highly recommend. The host was really kawaii and omoshiroi.

If you ever wonder how it feels sleeping on the floor as you saw in Japanese movies, this is the house for your group. The only thing short of perfect is that there is only one toilet and one shower.

Pretty basic but good value for money. The only snag I got was checking in early was difficult. Even leaving my luggage was difficult, and they do not offer to store luggage.

Owner stayed up really late for me to check in. Incredible hospitality! Great location next to the shrine and main bus station. Got some food and snacks are free. Very nice to meet new people.
