Ike is a fantastic host / owner / chef. We had the traditional style room and it was more than satisfactory.

We checked in on November 4th, 2025.
The manager Ike-san was great and his helper was too. Ike-san was very fluent in english, and it seemed he has some knowledge in Chinese.

The Hotel feels fresh and new.
Room is cozy (small) with fresh linen and toiletries needed. Note: the reception area has accessories like toothbrush, cotton buds etc.

My wife and I were surprised by the sweet gesture during our stay. It was our honeymoon trip around Wakayama, the hotel was really a cozy, rooms were clean and spacious for Japanese standard.

A most wonderful onsen hotel. The onsen is perfect, with 2 indoor onsens, and an outdoor onsen with a Zen garden. There's a view to die for from the onsen and the rooms.

Spacious rooms, very well organized. Great large bath — onsen with outside area and magnificent view.
Delicious breakfast with a lot of options, including western food and fresh fruits.

Great value for money. Clean, modern, newish, efficient, and 5 min walk from the main train station and bus station. It was a great transit point for us before starting on the Komono Kodo trail.

No humidifier in room. Also check out at 10.
But free and decent breakfast.

This is a wonderful hotel with an amazing family running it. Their friendly hospitality, food and personalised approach to service is exceptional.

Great find. Friendly service, interesting food selection. Onsen facilities inside. Inside decor is a mix of traditional and eclectic. Rooms are the classic tatami mat style.

Comfortable rooms in traditional Japanese guesthouse. The owner is very nice and makes a delicious dinner and breakfast. We loved our time there.

Lovely facility atop a hill. Warm room with good bedding. No staff on-site, but facility is well stocked. It has a washer and dryer.

A great accommodation with nice facilities, but it requires some work to check in. Three day prior to our check-in date, they sent us a four-digit number to enter a small booth by the entrance.

Browsing through photos taken more than 10 years ago, guesthouse owner is friendly n thoughtful. He placed two warmer under our blanket during the chilly winter weather.

This is a small but lovely and peachfull hostel. I feel like home here and Kojisan is very kind and friendly. He speak English very well and really willing to help me everything.

We absolutely loved it here. The staff has put in so much effort to all the details, in terms of aesthetics, food, hospitality… Everyone was very friendly. We hope to be back one day 🫶

I have stayed in many hotels in Japan and this is in my top five. Really top drawer in every aspect. If I had to find something to complain about, it would be the lack of restaurants in the area.

Great quality for the price.
Room was large and clean.
Japanese breakfast was great with rice, miso soup, multiple small dishes, coffee and tea.

Nice central location, not far from the station. The room was spacious, and we heard no noise from other guests. The breakfast (both Japanese and Western) was really delicious.

I loved my stay here. The guesthouse is simple and quite remote, but extremely peaceful, with beautiful nature all around. The room was traditional japanese style and everything was perfectly clean.

Simon is a very caring host. The room is a traditional Japanese room with a nice view. Great point to start the Komano Kodo if you are hiking!

Rather off the beaten track. But still convenient in front of a bus stop. The nearest lawson is a 800m walk away which isn't too far.

Hotel building is old and who cares. The food and service were fantastic. Found this place by chance. Very good choice. Hot water of the termal is very silky as they say. Managed very well.

If you ever wonder how it feels sleeping on the floor as you saw in Japanese movies, this is the house for your group. The only thing short of perfect is that there is only one toilet and one shower.

Pretty basic but good value for money. The only snag I got was checking in early was difficult. Even leaving my luggage was difficult, and they do not offer to store luggage.

Owner stayed up really late for me to check in. Incredible hospitality! Great location next to the shrine and main bus station. Got some food and snacks are free. Very nice to meet new people.

Budget friendly. The private room had a squat toilet but bath is common.
No complaints for the price.
And the guy manning the reception speaks decent English.

This is an old-fashioned guesthouse. Very convenient as close to train station. The host Ken is very friendly and speaks English very well.

Very clean and well managed. Although the rooms are all shared, I was the only guest so I had the room by myself which was nice. There's 2 shower rooms, 2 toilets and a shared kitchen.

Not the cheapest one, but definitely one of my favourite hostels of all time — thanks to the host Robert.
