The bathing facilities are what makes this place special and memorable. Lots of people walked around in colourful bathrobes (Yukata), giving the place a relaxed atmosphere.

I choose this hotel because the location is great, near the train station and shopping arcade. You can feel the hotel is old but clean and tidy.

Normally, I go to Ryokan with my wife, but this time I decided to go alone. I have to say that is place was an absolute delight from the fun to the onsen!

Everything here was perfect. Probably my best Ryokan experience I have had to date.

Friendly staffs in the front desk and also pick us up and send us back from/ to Toba Station.

I had a great stay. The owners were very nice and I felt very wellcome. The hotel itself is charming, has two onsen with a great view over the coast. I also liked the view from my room.

The view is adorable, service is good, the staffs are cooperative and nice. Enjoyed the stay was comfortable and relaxing with the natural onsen and beautiful environment.

We loved our stay. The service was excellent. We arrived by car, but the hotel also offers a convenient shuttle and luggage service.

Cute little Victorian inn perched on the hillside. You can see the ocean from the balconies. The staff were lovely and spoke English fluently which helped us a lot.

Stayed here for two nights and had a great experience. The ocean view from the room was beautiful, and the traditional tatami setup was cozy and clean.

Amazing place for an in room onsen with spectacular ocean views also enjoyed a private dining experience.

Excellent service and food.|This is a hidden gem. |Before I had even arrived with my family Hikari the concierge had been assisting me with transport, tour guides, luggage concierge.

I’m about to finish up my stay here and have seen enough. It’s a beautiful property, very clean and on the beach. We were upgraded to a corner room with 2 balconies and it has been fantastic.

The staff were all extremely friendly. They were always helpful, constantly making the trip more delightful.

This hotel has a very nice bath where you can see the sunset over the sea from the hot spring on the top floor. The newly renovated rooms are bright and very comfortable.

I had a pleasant stay in koko hotel. The bed was absolutely plush and great area with close proximity to tourist areas.

Nice hotel with a very comfy bed. We were on the 6th floor by the elevators and we didn't hear any noise from the corridor.

Room compact but utilises the space really well. The under bed storage is a good idea. Mattress was really comfortable and shower water pressure fantastic.

We are loving our stay at Base Layer Hotel Nagoya! The rooms are spacious (given they’re a Japanese double) and provide plenty of room for a couple.

The room size is just nice and the bed is very comfortable. We had a good rest in this hotel.

This place gave us a huge upgrade for free, we just asked. Such a beautiful place, only disappointment was that the pool wasn't open.

Another great traditional style Japanese lodgings. Rooms and communal facilities were good, breakfast and dinners included, and an absolutely lovely hostess. Top marks!

Please be aware that this style of accommodation is quite common in Japan and you should not be judging it on western hotels. If you want them then they are easy to find.

I had a great 2 night stay after my initial 3 nights in Tokyo! Tried both the dinner and the breakfast. They are both traditional Japanese meals with many small dishes.

We stayed at the Nippondaira for one night during our trip through Japan, and it was a unique experience. Our room was classical Japanese-style with tatami mats in all rooms (except the bathroom).

Simply stunning! We visited in January and stayed in the superior japanese style room. Room was huge and had Mt Fuji view. Breakfast was delish, you can choose either buffet or japanese kaiseki.

This 溫泉旅館 is situated on top of a cliff overlooking a large sea inlet between several islands, and the view from the room was really incredible.

I didn't have to pay to stay here so my review might be slightly biased, but I genuinely had an excellent experience. There are three public baths, including at least one with an outdoor bath.
