This is a retro hotel that is walkable to the shopping arcade and beach. Although older, the hotel was extremely clean. Rooms were like apartments — larger than expected.

The location is near Atami Ginza tori, not vary far from the Atami Station, about 10 min walk.

Wonderful hotel with superb facilities catering for all your needs. Spacious, luxurious room with a fantastic in-room onsen overlooking the ocean, and free drinks.

My stay at Pearl Star Hotel Atami completely lived up to its reputation as a "scenic view hotel. " Every aspect was designed to showcase its stunning seaside setting.

We had a fantastic experience here! The room was very spacious and extremely clean. I loved the traditional style living space.

Beautiful room with private onsen (hot spring) at a nice location. Nice steep walk up from the train station to get to the hotel (could be challenging with heavy luggage).

These rooms are very nice. The owner let's you play table tennis, tennis for free. There are many complimentary drinks. In the morning he beautifully serves coffee.

This is a self-service, airbnb type place run by a sole proprietor.

Stayed here for 2 nights to do the basic Nakasendo way from Magome to Tsumago. Well preserved old house located right in the middle of Magomejuku.

We had an overnight stay with two people. The stay was perfect from the initial welcome to checkout. The house is beautiful, the food was impressive and very tasty.

Made a last-minute reservation for the cheapest single room after an unexpected and harsh first day of my solo cycling tour from Kanto to Kyushu, which I had to shorten to Numazu instead of Shizuoka.

Very good hotel! So friendly staff and so many things for free also. Very costumer friendly :) the mattress was a bit hard, but beside of that everything was amazing.

Stayed here for Mt Fuji climb via Subashiri Trail.
Convenient as the bus station is just across the road for Subashiri & Gotemba Premium Outlet.

Room is spacious but old looking due to its age. Window view of Mt Fuji is refreshing from sunrise till check out.
Service upon check in is friendly and kind.

This is the second time that our family of five has stayed at this hotel.

A very good and convenient hotel. Next to the mall (although there are not many things I can buy there), next to the Shinkanshen. The view is pretty good.

Need a car to get there, or you could use the shuttle. The rooms were of great size, especially in Japan. Onsen views are nice, but the quality was not top notch in the country.

A peaceful retreat by the sea.
We loved our stay at this charming little hotel right by Shirahama Beach. The atmosphere was incredibly peaceful and quiet — the perfect place to slow down.

We are so happy that we chose this for our 3days 2 tonight stay in shimoda, its budget friendly and its near to the beach and one temple.

Stayed at the detached Balian room.
A tatami room, bedroom, and Balinese-style open-air bath.
The open-air hot spring bath in the room was amazing!

The sashimi boat platter was amazing.
The bath was private and there was no time limit, so I was able to relax while looking out at the ocean.

One of the best hotels I stayed in Japan, close to the beach with great views and the staff was incredibly friendly, especially Hiroki san. His umeshu float was absolutely delicious!

We were looking for a small hotel with a friendly atmosphere and ocean views, and Garden Villa Shirahama did not disappoint. We had a lovely stay.

What an outstanding place this is. A beautiful little town with this gem of a place to live up in the trees. And the staff and the owner Jun was always going beyond what you expect.

The rooms were spacious, clean, and very well equipped with everything you could possibly need.

Absolutely fantastic boutique ryokan. Personalised service in a lovely location. Private dining dinner and breakfast were exceptional. Will visit again!

Staying at Tokino-Kairo Kikuya in Shuzenji — the room comes with its own private hot spring bath, but waking up early to enjoy the outdoor private onsen is an absolute treat.

I've spend a night alone in this hotel, the room was very spacious, I was in the Japanese style room. The onsen is really nice, both indoor and outdoor. I really enjoyed drinking the onsen water.

Have a great experience with the hotel. Stayed in as a family of 2 adults and 1 infant. Food was well-served with personalised experiences.

We had a fabulous stay here. We decided to splurge and stay two nights at this hotel, and everything was fantastic.

This was definitely a splurge for us during the trip, but I don't regret this experience at all.

Fantastic place, with large rooms, balcony soaking tubs, great buffet, free drinks, and amazing views. Highly recommend. Hour and a half drive from Mishima Station, but worth the drive.

What a cute hotel! We only stayed one night but really enjoyed the place. Everything looks newly renovated and the rooms were very spacious and clean. The views were also amazing.

As a solo traveller, I stayed there for one night last November.

We had a great 2 night stay.
The location is good, close to some animated streets and the train station.
The walls in the room were a little thin.
Ps: The showe pressure was incredible at this hostel.

The building is old, the floor are VERY squeaky, but it's beautiful. The staff are friendly and explain everything, the other guests are generally nice and you can make new friends.

My 2-night stay at K’s House Ito Onsen was wonderful. The traditional shared room and common area were great with a nice view of the river.

Best location for a reset before we headed to Tokyo. Ride a bike around the village. Visit the salt makers. Go to the cafe. Visit the fish co-op.

Very stylish place with great waterfront view. Largely friendly staff but could improve. Sleepy but excellent town for our one-night stopover.

First, you have the stunning design of the house, nestled in the heart of the forest, peaceful and refined in that uniquely Japanese way.

The most beautifully restful stay. The food is incredible and such a treat (7, 000 yen for a multi course tasting menu! ). Amazing ambience and hospitality — we felt super zen and cosy.
