I stayed 2 nights at the Yokikan Hotel as a solo traveler. It was my first time at a true Ryokan and it was a fantastic experience.

This is a unique hotel experience. We have visited several Ryokans (traditional Japanese inns), and this one is particularly traditional.

Perfection.
A wonderful accommodation where everything is of a high standard.
Taxi transportation is available from Ito Station both ways.

Check-out time is 12:00, so you can stay for up to 22 hours.
There are three types of in-house wear: Samue, pajamas, and a yukata of your choice.

Excellent service and amazing food. Used the place on a rainy day the staff was so friendly and holding the umbrella for my wife and son to the parking lot, approx. 1 min walk outside the hotel.

Stayed at the detached Balian room.
A tatami room, bedroom, and Balinese-style open-air bath.
The open-air hot spring bath in the room was amazing!

The sashimi boat platter was amazing.
The bath was private and there was no time limit, so I was able to relax while looking out at the ocean.

We stay here for the golden week trip, free parking was provided. The interior decorations are very beautiful, a mix of modern and antique.

Room was spacious. Bed and pillow comfortable. Clean and tidy. Staff courteous. Free parking. Right in the centre. Surrounded by lots of restaurants and shops. Close to the station.

We didn’t stay overnight at the hotel, but we visited the onsen and it was absolutely lovely. The sauna, along with the indoor and outdoor baths, was fantastic.

A lil bit expensive but quiet and comfort place, bath was so good and quiet also hygienic and well maintained. Rooms need more cleanness but it was just fine.

We had a room overlooking the river, which was serene with the winter setting.

Services were really great. From entering the hotel, staffs cleaning the luggage tires to providing free snacks and drinks. Meals feel like high end Japanese traditional meals.

Property is a lovely family run pension stay. As I was there for snowboarding, it was a fab location as a base for the nearby Takasu & Dynaland ski resorts.

The food was delicious and highly recommended, the place was cozy and had a nice fireplace in the lobby. It’s managed by an elderly lady and her husband who manages the food.

Booked a Japanese room with the intention of relaxing and doing the Magome-Tsumago hike. It was perfect for this.
Room was traditional Japanese tatami.

The room was spacious and comfortable. The service was fantastic and friendly.
The hotel has a nice onsen and a fun area with a pool table and karaoke.

Cool lobby full of manga, I wish I could have stayed longer to browse some. Good location, food on every corner.

My wife and I stayed at Lodge Mondo before mountain biking with Yamabushi Trail Tour (see separate review), which owns Lodge Mondo.

Service was superb. The building itself a bit dated but again well kept. You can book half board with dinner as well breakfast.

At the top of a hill with a great city view is this ryokan. Rustic public and private onsen, beautifully maintained, wonderful breakfast and dinner, friendly and helpful staff.

I recently stayed at this hotel and had a very pleasant experience. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The overall atmosphere was welcoming and relaxing.

The biggest advantages of this hotel are its reasonable price and excellent location.
The room is spacious and clean.
Having a large public bath makes it very convenient.

The hotel rooms were small for European standards (challenging to open the luggage anywhere else than over the bed or unable to open to large suitcases at the same time), with a fairly small bathroom

5-min walk from Takayama Station and Bus Station. I am a fan of Super Hotel. The room is well designed, tight on space but more than enough for solo traveler and it functions perfectly.

Very nice, cozy, and clean. They have a lot of local recommendations and the staff is more than helpful. Free laundry and breakfast too :D.

The rooms are really clean and comfortable and the common area is nice. Our room is on the top floor with nice views of the mountains. The whole place feels homely and cosy too.

The rooms were great. Large shower. Seating and eating area in the room as well as on level 2. Clean and friendly. Close to the train station and restaurants.

Location is strategic. Several konbini like Family Mart and Lawson nearby. Easy to find food. Near Sakae area (walking distance).
