Hostels in TokaiHostel

The view from the room is amazing! I loved it and the private onsen that they offer is also a really great add to the experience! ✨

We chose (海) Umi room with stunning Mt. Fuji view. The room was large with separate toilet and bathroom. They have private hot spring which you can reserve and use free of charge.

Spacious room for the four of us with cooking facilities and lounge area within the room. However there was a larger common room and shared kitchen if required (we don’t use).

I really liked my stay here. The facilities are great, especially the large kitchen and the big common room and the outdoor theme really enhances the experience.

I've really enjoyed my stay at Yanagiya. It's a beautiful, clean, well run guesthouse in a perfect position to visit the town and the surrounding rural area.

This is a lovely hostel run by friendly family. Would recommend to backpackers off the normal tourist destinations.

Sho is an exceptional host, who goes above and beyond for the guest. I have a privilage for visit many countries and cities, but this is so far the absolute winner.

A truly beautiful and peaceful place. The traditional Japanese interior is warm and full of character, with wooden details, tatami floors, and a very cozy atmosphere.

A hostel with a lot of bedroom not too far from the train and bus stations.
There are aso some good restaurant nearby.

A truly fantastic hostel! Hostel Murasaki in Takayama exceeded all my expectations.

Rooms and facilities: Traditional and modern at the same time. Rooms are bigger than most accommodations in Japan. The place is very quiet and aesthetic. Clean, too.

Reasonable price. Room with air con, heated fan, heatable blankets. Includes a very convenient shared kitchen and showers (includes laundry for a small fee).

This place is cool, cozy, and a little eclectic. It has an old, charming aesthetic that is very different from other hostels that I have stayed in. The bed space is good.

Nice place to stay, nice staff and food. It's a 15 minutes walk to the Shizuoka station which is really convinient. I recommend this place if you want to stay in shizuoka city.

Less than 10mins walk from Ujiyamada Station.
Small shack for luggage if you arrive prior checkin time.
Very clean environment.
Owner is welcoming and kind.

Nice comfortable stay. We got a room to ourselves as we have 4 adults. The bed is spacious. Since it is a guest house, the amenities are shared and do keep your volume down when you are in your room.

A beautiful little hostel and diner! The owner was incredibly kind and accommodating, allowing us to leave our luggage prior to check in as we explored Ise.

I went with some friends for a weekend and really enjoyed it. Very quiet and clean, and the Americana decor is very charming.

Loved staying at this guesthouse. The building itself is beautiful and retro. All the facilities were clean and comfortable.

The best pla e we stayed so far from a 3 weeks trip! We simply felt like home…
It was so warm and cosy, if we knew before hand, we might have booked for longer.

The rooms are basic but tea and coffee are available and the host is really helpful offering a lift back to the coach station in the morning.

The receptionist was super friendly. The rooms and the shared bathroom are very clean.

Friendly host, great location, parking available. Nice atmosphere, nice communal area. Breakfast was extra. Japanese style room.

Friendly owners, good breakfast, parking, nice communal and kitchen areas, and great location to the dive centre.

Very good expérience, clean and cosy. They have a rooftop bar, karaoke, I recommend.

Very nice, cozy, and clean. They have a lot of local recommendations and the staff is more than helpful. Free laundry and breakfast too :D.

Perfect stay, good location in the city center and the personal is very friendly! would come here everytime again.

This is a really nice place to stay and the owner is very friendly. The guesthouse is modern, clean, and comfortable.

It was a fantastic stay!
The view was amazing, and the interior of the room gave us a real sense of Japanese culture.

I made a booking there, but then realised I made a mistake. They were kind to accept my free cancellation request.

The space to sleep is very comfortable, all clean, guys at the reception call were easy to find, showers are excellent. But, to go to the toilet you need to change again your shoes, dont know why.

We had a great stay at Backpackers JINYA. It’s a simple but comfortable place, perfect for budget travelers. The atmosphere is calm and welcoming, and the common areas are nice without being noisy.

Check in service was smooth, all online and over zoom calls which was different. The French lady working the online reception was friendly and very helpful giving us recommendations.

The view from the room is outstanding, the window is so big and there’s coffee table and pillow chair for sitting next to window. Because its winter, the view was amazing.

My husband and I stayed at Auberge Yusura to celebrate a special occasion and visit Ise Jingu, and we are truly glad we chose this ryokan. From our arrival, the hospitality was exceptional.

My husband and I stayed here.

We stayed here during winter vacation Jan 1st week. The location is very good, nearby to many ski resorts.

I spent one night here during my trip to visit Takayama and Shirakawago. It was a great experience!

Very nice guest house and the staff was absolutely outstanding. We really appreciated their help as we had some train issues to get there. And very good recommendations around the city. Thanks again!
