Cheap hotels in Tokai

Although the building looks old, they have worked very hard on the interior, service, and hospitality. The breakfast and buffet, which included Shizuoka Oden, were of a higher quality than the price.

The staff were kind and accommodating. The customer service was so polite that I couldn't believe it was a business staff.
As other people have posted, the breakfast was delicious.

Amazing host, nice spot on the hillside just a 30 minute walk out of town and 10 minutes down to the beach!

Stayed here for a night.
I wish I could have stayed longer. The rooms are compact but very warm.

Clean and easy hotel which close to Shizuoka station, staff are helpful and friendly!
Like their laundry room, you can check machine availability online before you go to the machine!

This place is cool, cozy, and a little eclectic. It has an old, charming aesthetic that is very different from other hostels that I have stayed in. The bed space is good.

Nice place to stay, nice staff and food. It's a 15 minutes walk to the Shizuoka station which is really convinient. I recommend this place if you want to stay in shizuoka city.

What can I say… my travel companion had made the reservation. A warm welcome by the owner, and a brief explanation at check-in.

What a beautiful, traditional, quiet and clean guesthouse! Our family of 7 enjoyed our stay at Guesthouse Tessen very much during our 3 day visit to Shizuoka.

The rooms are comfortable and spacious. The hotel interior is cozy, clean and very well decorated. Loved the art on the walls!

It’s a good place to sleep and travel in the next morning.
It’s really clean and fresh guest house.

Great place, way better than I expected.

A beautiful little hostel and diner! The owner was incredibly kind and accommodating, allowing us to leave our luggage prior to check in as we explored Ise.

I went with some friends for a weekend and really enjoyed it. Very quiet and clean, and the Americana decor is very charming.

Less than 10mins walk from Ujiyamada Station.
Small shack for luggage if you arrive prior checkin time.
Very clean environment.
Owner is welcoming and kind.

Nice comfortable stay. We got a room to ourselves as we have 4 adults. The bed is spacious. Since it is a guest house, the amenities are shared and do keep your volume down when you are in your room.

Our stay has been so nice. The staff was so lovely and kind to us. They made sure we felt comfortable and had everything we needed. Thank you so much!

From the moment I arrived, the host was incredibly welcoming — you can truly feel her kindness and generosity in every little detail of the house.

Best part about the property were the owners themselves. They were so nice and kind it was unbelievable. Not to mention how cute the house was, it was very cozy and comfortable.

Property is a lovely family run pension stay. As I was there for snowboarding, it was a fab location as a base for the nearby Takasu & Dynaland ski resorts.

Super friendly English speaking host. Rooms are very traditional Japanese style. Breakfast and dinner are amazing here!
You can also rent skis and buy the ski tickets here.

Location was easily accessible great town, super kind family who helped us during our stay.

Friendly host, great location, parking available. Nice atmosphere, nice communal area. Breakfast was extra. Japanese style room.

Friendly owners, good breakfast, parking, nice communal and kitchen areas, and great location to the dive centre.

Very good expérience, clean and cosy. They have a rooftop bar, karaoke, I recommend.

Very nice, cozy, and clean. They have a lot of local recommendations and the staff is more than helpful. Free laundry and breakfast too :D.

Of all the cheap capsules hostel I have done this is by far my favorite for it’s cleanliness, lobby (and your capsule) where you can charge your electronics, it’s near a station, grocery store not

This accommodation offers amazing value for the price. It’s very clean, and the capsules are spacious.

Checked-in on 25 Dec 2023 with my travel mates. The living space is clean and comfortable. Love the Japanese setting in the living room. Thumbs up!

Such a convenient place to stay at. Everything had been foreseen in the house. It was clean when we arrived, and had lots of modern and handy equipment.

Nice rooms and great kitchen to use.
They rent e bikes.
Great staff.
Could use some refreshment but best value for money.

It is my first time to write review for a hotel.
The host in the guest house is one of the best host I have ever seen, excellent care and really clean, traditional Japanese house.

The room is bigger than those at the Francis Chain Hotel. I stayed for three nights. It is very rare for a hotel to provide dinner, but this hotel not only provided it but also of good quality.

I made a booking there, but then realised I made a mistake. They were kind to accept my free cancellation request.

Check in service was smooth, all online and over zoom calls which was different. The French lady working the online reception was friendly and very helpful giving us recommendations.

The view from the room is outstanding, the window is so big and there’s coffee table and pillow chair for sitting next to window. Because its winter, the view was amazing.

The space to sleep is very comfortable, all clean, guys at the reception call were easy to find, showers are excellent. But, to go to the toilet you need to change again your shoes, dont know why.

We had a great stay at Backpackers JINYA. It’s a simple but comfortable place, perfect for budget travelers. The atmosphere is calm and welcoming, and the common areas are nice without being noisy.
