This was our second stay at Hotel Santavenere and it did not disappoint.

We spent 5 nights here for our honeymoon and had an incredible stay/experience. The hotel itself was magnificent and decorated in a classic style.

Location was perfect for the old town and the staff were brilliant. The spa was incredible, could have easily spent a whole day there, I can understand why they cap it to one hour per guest per stay.

The staff (reception, breakfast service, housekeeping) are very friendly and attentive.

I am writing this from the bed in our room. I would say this is probably one of the best hotels in Matera. The view from the rooftop terrace is spectacular. The spa is spectacular.

Fabulous luxury hotel. Terrific location. Room 210 has a large patio with a defensive turret in the corner, a private outdoor spa, and a fantastic view of the sassi.

Stone floors and stairs could be a problem for some.

We stayed at the Giorni Resort in the 2nd week of October. We picked it because we wanted to be in the countryside and it was rated so highly and looked beautiful.

We came to Matera with friends for a few nights before heading to Puglia for a bike trip. Matera is a UNESCO world heritage site, known for its sassi (limestone rock houses and neighborhoods).

Beautiful elegant hotel with excellent friendly service. Rooms are extremely comfortable. Delicious breakfast. Atmospheric courtyard for aperitivo.

Very clean house, with attention to detail and with everything you need (even more), welcome kit for each guest.

The host is very hospitable and offered me some great help, the room is very clean and feel like at home. It's 10 mins away from Matera landmarks on foot. Really recommend it!

We had a wonderful stay at Lamia Room Rentals. The location is situated just a short walk from the historic center, making it the perfect base for exploring Matera on foot.

This was absolutely perfect for us overnight. The interior is so cleverly designed and it’s only a short walk to the amazing centre.

This was our first stop after landing in Italy and what a wonderful way to rest up and acclimatise to the time change. A beautiful property — truly like visiting a Palazzo versus staying in a hotel.

In a magical Matera we found this excellent accommodation, and even if it is not located in the Sassi it is still suggestive.

Located in Matera Nuova, it is a 10-minute walk from the Sassi. We stayed here for the Immaculate Conception weekend, we miraculously found it after searching a lot. And what a lovely surprise!
