Matera Hotels

Hotel is well located a short walking distance from the sassi as well as downtown. Rooms are comfortable although the bathroom is small and tightly packed.

Had to leave Scilla at 2am and drove to Matera arriving around 7:15am.

Great stay right on the outskirts of the historic centre. We got a discount for the restaurant located right below the apartment (no noise issues) and a parking space some 500m away was provided.

On a recent holiday to Matera, we stayed here, and we were so lucky we did, from the moment we arrived until we left a week later, the owner could not have done more for us, from giving us a briefing

We stayed here June 2025. Giacomo is a wonderful host. The rooms are great. The location is right in the middle of the Sassi. So amazing! He also has an agreement for parking in the new area of town.

Giacomo immediately made us feel welcome and was available and willing to help with anything we needed.

I don’t feel like the host (Irene I think) was very helpful. It felt like we annoyed her. They didn’t want to help me order a taxi when I asked for help.

Great location and view from the balcony. The room itself is a bit dated but it's ok.

Very kind and helpfull host — welcoming us with a glass of fresh cold tea and snack, guide map and explaining all the view points in Matera. Also, reserving a table in very good restaurant.

This was absolutely perfect for us overnight. The interior is so cleverly designed and it’s only a short walk to the amazing centre.

Fantastic location. Host is very friendly and easy to communicate with. The room was great and with a beautiful view of the city. Breakfast was something incredible with local baked goods.
