Paola, our hostess, is a treasure! Every detail she attends to is impeccable. She has exquisite design sense and a warm heart. Breakfasts were extraordinary, changing daily. We will definitely return to her Airbnb and tell everyone we know to do the same for an unforgettable Matera experience. Brava Paola💋💋💋

After a hectic few days in Naples, Matera was like a Shangri-La. Solosud is in a great location and Paola is a wonderful host. She provided a warm welcome and and made us very comfortable. She also gave us lots of good tips for sightseeing and eating. Our ‘room’ (Le Limme) was spacious and well-appointed with a sofa, dining area and kitchenette along with the sleeping area. The attention to detail is evident in the furnishings and in the dining/kitchen ware provided. Everything was very clean and we had daily ‘housecleaning’. Paola provided a lovely breakfast each morning in her little courtyard, with fresh pastures, fruit and coffee. Solosud is close to lots of restaurants and sights. There is also a very good supermarket nearby which has a deli, fresh produce and a small selection of prepared meals. A few steps outside and you are overlooking the ravine. Highly recommended for a warm, hospitable stay in Matera.

The owner/operator is an incredibly gracious hostess. She communicated with us before our arrival and took the time to orient us when we arrived. She made herself available to answer questions and assist us throughout our stay. The facility was remarkable and well maintained. Located in a former cave dwelling it has been renovated yet maintains and respects its origins. The bathroom for example is modern. The linens and bedding are new, clean and fresh. The decor and furnishings are updated yet authentic to the Era. The location is perfect, situated a short walk from St. Peter piazza, cafes, restaurants and yhe stairs leading to the Sassi walking trails. We quite enjoyed our time in Matera and a large part of our wonderful experience was the beautiful accommodations. As seasoned world travelers we are quite comfortable to say that if you want to truly experience a genuine Matera stay, this is the place. We cannot recommend Solosud enough.
