Great fun at the Gunn Family Reunion. Great service, great location and great food.

The hotel and waiting staff where lovely and the food the rooms was perfect lovely and quite. The only compliment I have is regarding the bar staff or the lack off. It was very very poor. I was there on the 13th and 14th of May on a hen party and I and many of the residents had to wait 10 mins to get severed. On the sat night there was only 1 barman. On the sat evening I and my friends and other guests found it hard to get served. On I occasion he left the bar unattended to collect glasses and never said why? he just walked passed myself and at least 10 of us we were left very surprised and bewildered to why he didn't tell us why we where left waiting. Hes manner was very bad no personality no please or thank you. He just pointed at me for my order. I was very annoyed at this stage. Plus the bar was very badly stocked. We didn't leave the hotel on the sat nite we had our meal there we where happy to stay there but where very upset about being treated the way we where treated. I would stay there again because as I said it was a lovely hotel but I certainly wouldn't use the bar I'd go to another bar.

Right in the center of everything, wonderful room, very quiet at night. Lively music scene in pubs surrounding. Great breakfast.

Just home from a fabulous stay in the ormonde Hotel Kilkenny and omg what a fantastic place to stay. Rooms were tidy and beds very comfortable. Food was absolutely delicious. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Great location so close to the town.

Great location for families and couples, everything you need is there and you're walking distance to all kilkenny has to offer. Staff are very friendly and the hotel restaurant does fabulous meals and cocktails 🍸

We are just back from an amazing few days at the Kilkenny Ormonde Hotel. I cannot recommend it highly enough. The staff are fabulous nothing was too much trouble their service was exceptional. I was celebrating a special birthday in Kilkenny, the staff facilitated our every need. Can’t wait to come back.

Staff are very helpful. Whole experience was positive from making the reservation through Niamh through to checking in and the stay itself. All staff very professional from Lobby to Bar to Breakfast. Will definitely book again, favourite place to stay in KK n walking distance to everything.

Just returning from a stay in Hotel Ormonde with three children. Ideal central location, pool and gym is great, club room very spacious and clean and couldn't fault the place. All staff were very friendly but especially the lady in the breakfast room who went out of her way to make sure we were all happy. Definitely recommend it. Thanks to all.

We stayed at the Kilkenny Ormonde Hotel this past Monday and Tuesday as a treat during our summer leave! It was fantastic that things have opened back up and we were finally able to spend a night at the Ormonde! The staff were fantastic! Anne in particular paid us personal attention during our stay and even arranged for an upgraded room for us to enjoy our stay even more. The hotel location is excellent and everything is at your fingertips and is within easy walking distance! Our time in the leisure centre swimming pool was so much fun and it was great to have access to the sauna and steam rooms! We can’t wait to return sometime soon! Thanks to all the staff at the Kilkenny Ormonde for making this such a fun stay for us!

I am a hospitality manager myself and although the customer service was not perfect I would like to commend the staff for their efforts on what is completely new for us all north and south. The manners of all the staff was impeccable under a lot of pressure.
The rooms and toilets were a1.
A special mention to the lady who was looking after breakfast. Had a lot of time for us. We stayed from Sunday to Wednesday there.

I found out about Kilkenny Ormonde from a current employee, who was being blatant and openly racist on their public social media. And it seems this employee has held racist beliefs for a while at least since 2014 before they were hired by the company. It really made me wonder why a four star establishment wouldn't have a social media policy in place for their employees. It sends a bad image when you find out about a hospitality establishment due to their staff being racist, but it helps to know to avoid the place in the future because if you have one you probably have others. All people of color should probably avoid this hotel for a while. If you dont like being told "They all look the same" Or have an issue with jokes about Slavery. :/ I hope you can do better Kilkenny Ormonde.

Lovely staff. Beautiful room. Really nice breakfast. Also the kids loved the size of the pool. This hotel is spotless. Will be back.

Beautiful hotel, staff so friendly and helpful so clean and covid guide lines in place with information leaflet. Total recommend this hotel beautifully pool. Right in the centre of the town. I'll definitely be back ‍♂️

Beautiful hotel and rooms with really friendly and accommodating staff and right in the centre of Kilkenny.
They were taking great care to mind the health safety of the guests and at the same time managed to make us feel very welcome and relaxed.
We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it.

Stayed here for 3nights with my sister who has special needs and never again, on arrival got the key to the room but wasnt even shown the room, had to ask for someone to bring up our bags ridiculous. Room was stuffy and dusty carpet choking as ive asthma, window stuck had to ring for someone to come up and fix it, beds high mattresshard ididnt sleep in 3nights there room noisy outside. Breakfast buffet the next morning staff wasnt very helpful or friendly to myself and my sister. Ibrought down cups one morning from ourroom to give to one ofthe staff in the breakfast and she gave me adirty look ifound that ignorant. Dinner menu too expensive expensive hotel, adinner should have been included in the price my sister paid but it wasnt had to get atakeaway down town way cheaper. The manager of the hotel wud want to hire friendly and helpful staff and bring down the hotel prices. Overall iwouldnt come back wasnt worth the money, no music at night either cheaper hotels elsewhere and nicer staff.

Really pleasant, good location near to the castle and lots of traditional small pubs with great food.

Wonderful weekend at the Ormonde. Lovely room, great food, top class service, very friendly and helpful staff, but must give a special mention to breakfast restaurant manager Mags Foley, who made us feel welcome and very much looked after, one of many reasons we will certainly be back again. Thank you, Mags, and the entire Ormonde team!

Such a friendly, relaxed environment. With nothing too much trouble for the lovely staff.

Rooms were spotless, the swimming pool changing area was warm and clean. The receptionist was lovely and efficient and the breakfast was good. Very central with car parking facilities. I've stayed before and I will definitely be back again.

We had Afternoon Tea which was really lovely. The staff were excellent really friendly and couldn't do enough for us will definitely be going back.

Love this hotel! Been coming here every month for the last four or more years for a one night break to chill out! Only live half an hour away but love it! Pool and spa treatments are great! Meals are lovely and the staff are super friendly and helpful! Located in the centre of Kilkenny therefore you can just walk out to all the places of interest and the shops. Car parking is opposite in the Ormonde street car park! Perfect!

Lovely place we came with 4 Coachs and the staff were really nice. And looked after us with the nicest food. Thanks so much.

Our rooms are not renovated. Old with writing on the ceiling from past guests. Bathroom drains clogged… Rather dirty… Carpet filthy base boards rotting away… All this for the mere price of 190 euro. Don't stay here. They chuckled when we complained and said only first floor renovated… But a giggle does not an alleged 4 star luxury!? as they claim make!

Had a really enjoyable experience for our debs yesterday. The hotel and Deirdre and Gill who we dealt with couldn’t of been more helpful in giving us a night to remember! The layout of the night and the friendliness of both staff and security was amazing! Would recommend Kilkenny Ormonde as they are really professional in their running of debs.

Had my daughter holycommion here. Fantastic choice of food and all delicious highly recommend and staff were brilliant definitely be going back.

This is our second time staying here. We are a family of 5. To say we were impressed is an understatement, the family rooms are very spacious, probably the most generously sized we have stayed in. Hotel location is ideal for walking to and from the city centre. The staff are accommodating on every level and the breakfast is top class.

I was the photographer for Sarah & Michaels Wedding and the staff could not of been nicer, I was given the wedding meal and on telling them I am Gluten Free they went above and beyond and nothing was trouble to them. Extremely polite and considerate towards the couple and myself and for photographs there was no rushing around. The food was delicious and service was attentive without being obtrusive. 5 stsrs.

The location is ideal, and the beds are on the firm side (my preference). The breakfast selection was impressive and the hostess was amazing; out of sheer kindness she made me a latte well before the opening time of the café. The bar staff was friendly and helpful. I give a two star review for being stopped by night security from bringing two guests I met at the pub up to my room. Apparently you need to sign guests in well in advance (in the event of a fire, it was explained) and I found having guests turned away by security to be highly embarassing. We were assured that our orientation was not the issue, nor was skin color. I think that the guest policy should be made more clear in advance. I’ve never had that experience before and although security remained polite, I disagreed with some of their rationale. We ended on fine terms but the experience was unpleasant at best. Edit: after having my concerns addressed I am raising my rating from 2 to 4 stars. 3.5 is most accurate but the kindness of the breakfast hostess was above and beyond, and leaves me more than comfortable rounding up.

First time in the Ormonde hotel for afternoon tea and I couldn't recommend it enough the ladies serving were so friendly and accommodating. The food was well presented tasty and lots of it. I brought my mother for a treat and she thoroughly enjoyed every minute would definitely be back again.

I love the Ormonde Hotel, I've stayed there a few times this year with the most recent being last week for a wedding in the hotel. The hotel is so central to the city, loads of parking with a discount if your staying with the hotel. The staff are all lovely and the breakfast is A1. Fantastic range of food catering all needs. The rooms are perfect, everything you need is there and if you did need anything the staff will do their best to accommodate you. If your stay is for a girlie night or a night away with the hubby this hotel ticks all the boxes ps it has a leisure centre and spa with a great deal on treatments! Wouldn't stay anywhere else!

This hotel is situated perfectly in the heart of the city and easy walking distance to almost all the attractions as well as numerous shops, restaurants, etc.
The rooms at the hotel while fairly large are appointed with very basic, to cheap looking furnishings. My bed was lumpy and hard and the towels coarse.
The food at both restaurants was average to poor and service was friendly enough, but not very attentive as our first night we waited more than 30 minutes after our me…al to get our check.
One of the rooms in our group of three friends had black mold and mildew in the bathroom. A car park is located across from the hotel at a cost of 10€ per day. There are numerous options for hotels in Kilkenny. On my next visit, I'll be sure to try one of them. You should too.

Very nice. Breakfast great. Room large and clean. Staff very friendly.

No A/C, the day we day we checked in was warmer than normal. Check in early was put in room 130 that is the third floor. The lift could only fit two with bags. Room over 85 degrees, window only opened about three inches for safety reasons I think. They did put us in a floor fan 2 1/2 hours after I asked. They did move us down stairs next to the people we were traveling with the next day. After we came back from dinner and asked again. They kept blankets and bed covering in the stairways. Hope there not a FIRE. Breakfast was good and that wait staff friendly.

Went to the restaurant for my wife's birthday. Service was impeccable as was their choice of wine for my wife. Atmosphere was a 1930s laidback jazz lounge but decorated with quality pieces I would find somewhere outside of Kilkenny. The food was top notch. Again, the service was just unmatched in terms of quality.

We had amazing time staying here the staff brilliant one stud out and that was mags couldnt do enough for us. Everything from the moment we arrive was catered for to we left. Looking forward to staying there again. The wedding we attanded on 17/06/2016 was amazing the staff and the service is to a very high standard.

Loved it stayed here with my partner and 3 young children in July staff were lovely, rooms spotless and the kids club was great our kids loved it and the 2 girls in kids club were lovely. Will def be back.

Really nice, comfortable City Centre hotel with everything on the doorstep. Loved the shops and the castle. Ate in the hotel both mornings and one evening, service and food were excellent.
