When you do check in, I was attended by miss Mabel, sac a tab with my name and a room number assigned, to deliver my passport, crossed out the room number and wrote another. When you get to the room 6218 the access door was picked up and brushed against the ground, he was able to open the trunk after several pushes. The closet door of the room was stuck, wedged in the lane. The bath was quite dirty, (attached photo). The bathtub not cleaned in the four days of the stay, or fixed roulette of the thermostat I guess that will remain the same. The hotel has a stage for shows with good performances, good swimming pool and easy access to the beach, where the personnel in charge of security and the boats are very nice, I congratulate the chef of the kiosk from the beach for burgers and kabobs which were delicious and the waiter in front of him.

Where should I start? This was such an amazing and memorable holiday I can’t find the words to praise the staff. I traveled on my own and I felt like I was surrounded by friends I had known my entire life. Cuban people will make you feel at home so don’t hesitate and go create a lifelong memory. As for the facilities: my room was comfortable and had a nice pool view; the beach was SPECTACULAR; food super tasty with lots of choices, the chefs know how to pamper you! Lobby bar had a cool chill-out atmosphere. All in all this was a 5 star plus holiday that I recommend to anyone who is longing for a sunny and relaxing holiday. See you next year for sure!

Love this resort! The staff are amazing and they are the main reason we keep returning to this resort. The grounds are well kept, the rooms are clean, the beach is beautiful, the food is good and it is a great size resort. Looking forward to going back again.

This resort is perfect. Everything is close so you don't have to walk far to get to the beach or pool or the lobby. The only issue we had was the band that played every night in the lobby was so loud that we had to sit outside to be able to talk. Otherwise a great resort. I will return.

The resort is very clean. The employees are kind and polite. The animations at day time is always fun and the shows at night are fantastic! We had our wedding there and it was perfect! Thank you so much! We will go back.

The staff are friendly and accommodating, rooms are clean. Food was good, Entertainment was. Well I was expecting more. Hotel has one large pool. The visit was fine, I would not go back to this hotel.

Been there 3 times and not coming back Most of employees are really nice people however there are some bad apples in the basket, workers who made you feel like intruder, simply saying they are spoiled. But you may be lucky not meeting them. It's adults only resort so it is not for families with children below age of 16. Descriptions of rooms are vague and usually price reflects what view you gonna have.

Before: Yes, Cuba is different; Yes, we have a different standard in Europe; Yes, most people are bitterarm; This is not an assessment of the country and the people who live there. It is my subjective view and opinion of the hotel to inform people who have higher expectations: The grounds are very nice and well maintained, the public areas have already come in the years. It is reconstructed in small portions. In the rooms vagitosis is enormous (humidity and climate). Because of the bad stench, we had to change rooms after one night. In the "new" room the Müffelgeruch was still tolerable. New towels for the room are only available on request or once a week. The sweaty sheet or The ceiling has not been replaced once. For this, a beautiful swan is formed from the coating — also great. Water bottle (1, 5 litres) usually gets to the room once a day — or not. I was sick and got myself, after two calls at room service and 1, 5 hours waiting, my water myself.
You can argue about the food, see photos — We expected more (not from the selection, but from the quality). Hygiene does not matter, no cook or other staff wears gloves. Even the pizza is filled with bare hands, cut and served. Staff, who were tipped in advance, behaved much friendlier than staff who didn't get any. Also at the beach bar, where you could eat burgers, skewers etc, there was no hygienic requirement.

Unfortunately a little run down. The service at the bar is very slow. The same entertainment programme every evening.

The hotel is in the beginning a bit of getting used to, but after two weeks you had the feeling of leaving friends behind. Although it is an all inclusive hotel, there is amazingly much Cuban culture to experience. The staff is incredibly nice and helpful. Be it the waiter who always brought drinks without prior tip, as soon as you took a seat or the animation team with Maria, who beckoned from afar when she saw one. I would especially like to highlight Yudith, who has served us several times in El Conuco. Their friendly helpful style is very pleasant. Also the ladies and gentlemen at the lobby bar have done a great job. Coffee and cocktails were always excellent. Here, Candido and Roberto are very commendable. It is a pity that the evening entertainment is always far too noisy. In part, the system was oversteered, so it did not even listen well. After a trip, the security at the entrance did not want to leave me on the system. It wasn't until I demanded his boss that after 5 minutes I was reluctantly left on the ground.

Beautiful resort. Fairytale beach. Swimming pool, tropical garden, Jacuzzi. Food great. Exquisite welcome.

Beautiful hotel and outdoor layout. Great beach. Very frindly and nice staff. Great food. A big no no was the cold pool and even more worst, both hot tubs are cold as well.

Very quiet to go with family the beautiful beach! The Cuban day we ate a delicious typical meals! Breakfast is a bit repeated and the dinner also the room quite modern the drinks of the bar of the entrance Hall great, they have good whisky the ones in the pool I didn't like the rooms are quite far from the beach.

The beach is awesome! The staffs are friendly, and rooms are clean. Good choice to stay here.

For our 4th stay in Cuba, we were thrilled at all levels! Stay from December 21 to 28, 2017.
Very well appointed hotel complex, great cleanliness; Room clean, nice and comfortable; Varied, excellent and well seasoned food; Staff smiling and always at the front of our needs; Chairs in sufficient quantity at the pool as well as at the beach; Varied shows with very talented artists. In short, a place that we recommend without hesitation!

It really is a very nice hotel. I spent 3 nights and had a great night. The food is very rich and varied. The service is impeccable. They should improve the Wi-Fi that doesn't always go well. Excellent cleanliness. The hotel is large and full of activities. And the beach is really beautiful. Clean, big and with lots of umbrellas.

After a rebooking as a result of a construction site in our original hotel, we opted for the Melia Las Antillas. We don't regret the decision. Some who have been there and have been criticizing negative experiences about condition and service must not forget that 4 or 5 stars are not comparable to the standard of 4 or 5 stars in Europe or America. Cuba is just a communist country and has been closed for decades. Now to the hotel: the complex is spacious and well maintained. A pool is available, several bars and the beach is not even 5 minutes. Our room was mostly clean and daily came room service. The food was good but after a few days there too monotonous. A currency exchange desk is available as well as a hairdresser, gym and three restaurants. The service staff are very helpful and always friendly. We would do it again.

The beach of this hotel is very beautiful and quiet, the rooms and facilities very well however it is always the same food at the buffet and the A la carte restaurants are little varied. I was during the hurricane Irma and even though the pool, the beach and the restaurants were not in good condition and you could not access the fare was the same. The staff is friendly but not helpful.

Beautiful location and nice place. But very very average food.

First time there. I know it was just after the hurricane but the hotel conditions are definitely not as described. The restaurants were closed and we mainly ate in the main buffet. The housekeeping forget about us systematically. 2 days I went to the reception to someone who exchanged my towels. Cockroach in the bathtub. No alcohol at room bars like they wrote. We will definitely not go back. However, the beach in Varadero is beautiful.

Went in October few weeks after Irma. Some obvious damage but cleaned up nicely. 24-hr kitchen not available due to roof damage but should be fixed by now. The resort shows it's age, some common garbage cans took a week to be emptied. Annoying parts are sulfur smell coming from the pond, some of us are more sensitive than others, just be aware. Also safe we had was not digital but key'd, somewhat annoying to carry extra thing around. Small lobby with only one bar, sharing coffee and drinks, but never busy. Lot more positives. Superb beach, fine layout, compact and close anywhere, friendly staff, didn't experience any rudeness mentioned elsewhere and most importantly good food, above average for Cuba for sure. Great mojitos;-)

Nice beach But the rest is terrible. Cockroaches in the room. Ants in the rice. To avoid.

Food : 7 / 10. Beach : 10 / 10. Staff : 8 / 10. Room : 8 / 10. Good place for the price. The store in the hotel is ridiculously expensive. Food is getting better.

Beautiful resort. Grounds are well kept. Beach can't be beat. Pool is amazing. Drinks where good. Plastic cups the bar uses a little small, bring your own reusable coffee mug to help with the waste of all the plastic and for bigger drinks! They do have an amazing premium 24 hour bar off to the side of the lobby. Food was good. Sure it could have had a bit more flavor but overall food was good. The 24 hour restaurant made great burgers. Staff were great. The only real set back of this resort was the rooms. They were very clean and big. But need updating. Nothing luxurious about the rooms. This resort along with staff and guest is 95% only Spanish speaking. Bar staff and front desk people speak English and maybe other languages. However as an English speaking person I had no problem getting by. Overall great resort. Would visit again. Oh if you're someone who likes using the gym, the gym sucks. Old, musty smelling and warm. The massages are highly overpriced.

Unfriendly bartenders. The bartenders indicated they were unhappy at there jobs. This level of service was at all bars. All eating areas had friendly staff. We were told the mini bar in our room would have one liter of water and two beers daily. This was not the case. We fought daily for these things up until the the last three days of a ten day trip. Our room was kept clean daily, however the bed was broken and the door leading to the mini bar. The food was the most bland food I have ever eaten. Once in a while there was white fish put out. When the fish tray was empty it was never refilled. I have good news, they have the best swimming beach I have ever found. The resort has along way to go with their service.

The Melia Las Antillas is a very nice hotel, I stayed there for 2 weeks and can recommend it to anyone. I have never met such nice people as the Cubans. The staff no matter if it has been the cleaning power or the staff at the restaurant. All were very nice and accommodating. Of course, if you've got a tip, you were very grateful and you took care of something else. Therefore, I recommend a tour every time to Cardenas so that you can live them like these people and then it becomes very quick to realize that you prefer to spend some money.

Love every minute of my stay there. Found the staff to be the most incredible human beings I've ever met. Can't wait to come back. Love you Natasha. Leo my bro. Jorge you're my bro.

We just go back home from our vacation at Melias Las Antillas and want to thank the kind people at this resort Everything was perfect We will be back next year!

We stayed only two days at this hotel, would have liked to stay longer.
We were pleasantly surprised: clean rooms, high levels of comfort, extensive and varied tasteful care. I would like to highlight the friendly, helpful and courteous staff. The surroundings, such as pool area, bars and restaurants and beach are in best condition. Can definitely recommend the hotel.

We went in Feb 2009 had a great time the food was a little bland but was very good and lots of it. Had a fantastic time no kids when we went not that it would have bothered us, The Beach was amazing the best that we have ever been on. The resort very clean and the service was great. We went with our son and his wife everyone treated us great. No vultures like mexico trying to sell you packages or things just great, went to Havana had a great tour and saw a lot of old cars went on some tours had a great time would go back in a second. I can't say enough good things about the trip. It is a very special place to go maybe partly because it is a communist country. I never had any thoughts about being unsafe at any time. I hope this helps someone if they have any worries.

The positive: they have the best staff. Polite and always willing to help. Waitresses such as Ms Odalis Hernández, Rafael, Mr Makai, chief of food control Carlos, great. The Divine Beach, the hotel is good. The shows are nice, a little romantic dancing is missing for couples.
What I didn't like: 1. I got an ugly room in the back which wasn't that I had bought in my Latam package. I showed it to the entrance and the receptionist did not answer the complaint. 2. I did not like the lounger's ushers even though I tipped him 2 and 3 CUC daily (SR major), place other people in the same umbrella to earn other tips (I saw it when I did) and then it went … 3. I was invaded by a poorly educated German. I said it to the security and did nothing … the food was good in the romantic and Don Giuseppe, the general little varied; Those dry, disastrous noodles. The wine sucks. 4. Internet a disaster in these times is basic, they did not have a printer to print a Chek in.
It is a place that would return but previously agreed the place within the hotel …

Wonderfully relaxed adults only resort just outside Varadero. Staff are experienced and professional. The entertainment is lovely. The rooms, while dated, are clean and well-kept. Worth considering.

Excellent clean good food apartment with good air conditioning and comfort we had a very nice staff the manager present all the time serving asking the passengers if you have any problems.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the food was very good-we positioned this hotel as a gourmet hotel. I'd love to come back here again.
