Clean and comfortable room. Close to POW Hospital and food outlets.

Great location to stay with newly renovated clean rooms with easy access to city, moorepark and coogee.

My daughter (11) and I arrived at 9pm ish, to find that our booking was not confirmed. We had made this booking in February, date of arrival was July. We were accommodated, however it was a lengthy process. I feel there was a substantial miscommunication, in terms of our agreement to 'tentatively' book the next 2 nights, without a cancellation fee. We were told that as long as we informed the person at front desk that we were/were not staying extra days, we would not be charged. This was not the case. We were refunded for one night, however; not the other. Unfortunately the desk clerk was not able to direct us to a local taxi rank (she infact had never heard of one, ) and although offered to look it up, I found this quite disconcerting, to work in this industry, yet have little local knowledge. Despite being the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in (or the equivalent), I would not stay here again.

The room was generally well presented and comfortable. The reception staff were fine. The main problem we encountered was the mixer tap in the bathroom didn't work, all we could get was hot water or nothing. Too bad if you wanted to get a drink of water…

The room was too small for two. Before we entered this room we hadn't realized how small it was. The wardrobe was too small to accommodate even hanged shirts. I would suggest for proprietors of this hotel not to provide this room for guests at all. It should be used as a storage room.

The room was very small. The Capboard was able to receive only very few items. We had to keep everything in the suitcases and on the floor. The Sta. Olina of Ukraine did not want to apply the 20% discount that was offered to me by email days before arriving. The size of the bathroom and the sink in particular was unacceptable. We could not brush our teeth because the shelf prevented being able to put the head on the sink. We found the litter bin full of junk from the previous guest… In short a very high room price for the category and status of the Pension, because it does not reach hotel category.

Very conveniently located — close to shops, cafes, Ritz Cinema, Coogee beach and plenty of transport. Pleasant, helpful staff. Good little in-housecoffee shop. Clean, attractive, quiet, comfortable room. A little small for a couple but it worked out OK. We enjoyed our stay at Perouse Lodge. Thanks.

They had a group of 10 guests do a late check in at midnight, and they were so loud… with some of them going on till 2AM. There was one group who kept their door open with a child running around and screaming. If you're looking for a good nights sleep look somewhere else. You could take the risk, but if it happens to you, you'll have to wait till 9am because there's no one at reception till 9am.

Great hotel. Very clean and tidy with all the essentials. Is in a very central location with fairly easy parking in surrounding areas. A little noisy but is to be expected.

Hotel just renovated. New but very small rooms. We have chosen it for the proximity of Generale beach which is ragguinge comfortably on foot. The area is very nice, lively and full of bars and restaurants.

Small room and very small bathroom. Partly friendly people at the reception. Not always cleaned properly. Limited and slow Wi-Fi (devices and MB). Overall quite expensive.

Cleanliness is a disaster. There's no reception all the time. But especially the housekeeping in the room is unfortunate. They leave the pajamas lying on either side including the floor.

Was clean and convenient. I would recommend to others. The hotel is quite small, guest rooms are very small. We really lucked out with double single room at end of hall. Much larger than other guest rooms. Could not get clean glasses, had to wash our own in basement kitchen. But is was very comfortable and close/walking distance to many wonderful restaurants in Randwick as well as to Royal Randwick Center and to UNSW.

Everything was great except the room cleaning. Cleaners came to organise the room around 5pm both days… most inconvenient as this was when we were getting ready to go out again for the evening. Standing outside while the room as cleaned was far from ideal.

Rooms were very nice and reasonably priced but quite small. Took a long time to check in even after multiple visits. Staff were very friendly though and the location was ideal for shops and restaurants.

— Great location, great facilities! — Friendly and knowledgeable staff — It's a really short walk to the next bus stop. Located relatively close to Coogee Beach I walked the distance on a few occasions, took me probably 15 minutes, other times I took the bus. You can also take a bus directly downtown, without making a switch. — I was able to do laundry in the basement, washing machine and tumbler are available. — Flatscreen TV in the room and a decent size one at that, is provided. — The Bed was comfortable and the glass enclosed shower has a real good shower head. — Breakfast was not included, but the in-house coffee shop made a great Cappuccino. There are plenty of places to eat in the vicinity.

Yummy breakfast, the staff were really friendly and the food and drinks came out relatively quickly.

We came here for breakfast at the cafe, and it was great. Tasty food and quick service. It's a little small inside, and limited tables, so be ready to head elsewhere if it's too busy.

I wish I could give 0 stars! The booking was listed as "FREE Wi-Fi" and then when you get here they limit it to 500mb. With no solution to fix it and explaining the manager is away for two days. The hallways smell like pot. The rooms are tiny tiny. Just wow… do yourself a favour do not stay here!

Was very neat and tidy lovely little spot and convenient walking distance to the shops and hospital. Which is why I was there. Only complaint I asked not to have a room near the lifts. I was not accomodated with this request and was very close to the lift.

15-minute walk to Coogee Beach. The room only had basic amenities but it was clean and comfortable. The front office staff was also friendly! Overall, good value for money.

I booked a single night stay at this lodge and I definitely enjoyed the place. The room was kept clean, tidy and the recent renovations done to it were excellent. However, like all places, there is always a downside to every room and service… The mini fridge/bar in my room only had those tiny dairy farmers milk containers and nothing else and that was a disappointment. You'll have to bring in your own snacks if you ever decide to stay here as they don't offer anything else. Secondly, you're only offered 500MB of free internet for the night. If you exceed that limit, you'll have to pay upon leaving. 500MB is barely anything, especially when there's not much else to do in the room besides watching TV. It's a good place overall and I was happy with the services I received. But it could still improve.

Very clean, tidy and comfortable. I was attending a course at UNSW, and so location was ideal; close to uni and multiple options for meals. Some street noise, but it didn't keep me awake at all.

Rude arrogant staff. Inappropriate comments. Charged credit card for stain on mattress that was from previous stays and not caused by our stay without approval or right of reply. Manager was not willing to talk in reason and very uncompasionate about sensitive issues. Was staying at hotel due to sick daughter at royal women's hospital. Sent email about issue to no response. It is wasn't a difficult and expensive time in our lives large extra charges for something not done by us just makes life a lot worse.

The room are well presented and very reasonably priced. Perfect when your focus is getting out and enjoying Sydney.

I worked here in the past and like all my colleagues I regretted it so badly. Julie, the "manager" in charge is NOT at all a people person and I can agree with the comments below. She makes the staff responsible for her own incompetence and mistakes and treats them quite badly with a huge load of verbal threats and aggression.
Run away from this place or any Sydney Lodges accommodation, the place smells, is dirty and she looks like Jason Vorhees from the movie Friday 13th.

Awesome. This hotel is for the people who need to be close to the coogee beach and moore park. A mini luxurious hotel just without room service. Awesome rates.

I have stayed at Perdue Lodge a number of times and it's always been great. Lovely, helpful staff, clean, good value. The renovations have made it look really good. My only concern is the ack of space to use the toilet. If you were on the larger side of the scale, you wouldn't be able to use the toilet as the gap between the wall and the shower cubicle is quite narrow.

Small and expensive room. I have been catching little flies for 2 hours.

Great food! big portions and quick service. A good place to go if your looking for good food, great view of the water, anf good service.

Not usually a complainer but had an overall negative experience that I feel people should have a heads up about. Firstly i'll admit that I booked for 2 nights, was complicated by the QLD floods, tried to cancel the 1st night despite being fully aware of wotif's no cancellation policy but hoping for the best. Was told by Wotif that the manager of Randwick lody called the manager of randwich lodges and she denied the request. Harsh and profiteering I thought given my excuse. Secondly I paid for a master room. They put me in room 212 which faces the street. Room was clean and decent enough but did not get a wink of sleep. Windows are paper thin and the road + pedestrian traffic from the pub next door kept me awake all night. Sure this isnt a 5 star place but I suggested that they make street facing rooms the budget rooms, not premium. Rude response at reception to complaints didnt help.

I wish there was a Perouse Lodge for every part of the world. We enjoyed staying here so much due to the low cost and extreme value for money. It is amazing that we had to find Randwick accommodation fast and stumbled upon this hotel straight away. The rooms were very clean and cosy, but also new and the bathrooms were really great. I especially loved the coffee shop right at the front door where we were able to grab breakfast before heading out into Randwick and Coogee for the day. It was so convenient having such good value for money accommodation in Randwick when we needed it. We will definately be visiting this hotel in Randwick again soon.
