Check was very difficult — several phone calls before anyone answered. No parking. Not well insulated from outside noise.

Close 2 prince of Wales hosital and randwick shopping centre. Very central goid Wi-Fi access.

Pictures on the website are misleading. I understand the lodge is a low price but the overall appearence and condition was very poor.

Unimpressed! The parking situation is terrible, drove around for at least half an hour before we could find a carpark. We were blocks away and only in a three hour parking bay. The receptionist was not only completely unsympathetic but quite rude and patronising. When we had rung Avoca Lodge to question the parking we were told there was plenty. The beds were comfortable — only good thing I can say. Definitely won't return.

Room was tidy and clean when we got there for an early 11am check in. Unlike some reviews, Avoca Lodge is very nice for its price. The only downside would be the outdated floorboards which creak on the second floor. The staff is great and overall a great experience.

Dirty room booked was 2 bed queen beds got 1 bed plus hard pull out sofa for a person with back injury $195 per night cold room lung cancer patient not as advertised or web site at all will post photos on my fb page.

We (mum with 2 teenagers) have stayed here twice while my husband was in hospital after a work accident, which gave us a break from the stress of travelling back and forth from Gosford. The location is truly excellent, and we have always managed to find a good car parking space not too far away. We had to stay at motels a couple of other times, and they were much pokier than this place, & nowhere near the hospital. This is much homelier. Other guests were very loud from 6am onwards the second time, but that's not the Lodges fault. The same could have happened elsewhere. We'd definitely come back. Staff were very friendly and helpful, facilities were clean. Having the kitchen is a major bonus. You couldn't ask for more for the price — the person that complained is very unreasonable. If you want more, then pay what it takes. Not all of us can!

Good value for money. Bathroom as new, large bright airy. Close to Randwick shops. Wi-Fi has limit of 500 Mb. I commend it and recommend.

3 star. Must be a rating out of 50. Whom ever runs the show needs to visit not doctor photos so premises appear to be far far better than reality. Would have rated lower but can only have chance of commenting by rating something. Stood on a cockroach and was transported across the room. Photos cannot lie, BULLSHIT.

For the price that you pay you cannot go wrong with Avoca Lodge. I would not want to stay for an extended period there, but for only a couple of nights it great. Close to Randwick shops, The Spot, and public transport and not that far from the city one cannot complain. The staff are always friendly and the rooms are clean — that is what is important for a place like this.

I was looking for Randwick accommodation and happened to find this great small boutique style property on Avoca Street. This place was small and very quite for a hotel in Randwick. I have stayed alot in hotels in Coogee and found this to be much better and new, and great value for money. The property was recently 're-done' and feels very new and modern. I surely didn't think I would be able to find such amazing accommodation in Randwick or Coogee, at least for this price. I would definately stay here again.

This hotel is brand new, cheap and quite simply unbelievable. I personally think this property should be a lot more expensive than it is. The rooms are great, clean, very new, bathrooms light and stylish. Just WOW! We wanted a place close to the Prince of Wales Hospital and UNSW and this place was perfect! A million thumbs up.
