My youngest had a snowy cancellation to a bachelorette weekend. We called the Kings Courtyard and within three days notice they made it happen! They were accommodating, professional, timely in response and went beyond to help them have a wonderful experience. They were helpful with local information and recommendations. All were exactly as stated. The rooms were beautiful, spacious and comfortable. We were even given an upgrade at no charge! The girls had a relaxing fun time! The hotel put them in walking distance to lots of Charlestown charm. The hotel made them feel welcome and safe. Thank you Kings Courtyard. We will absolutely return. The 'McGuffins.

This was the most perfect place to stay during our visit to Charleston! It was close to everything we wanted to see! The complementary water bottles in the lobby were also a welcome perk. The innkeeper, Tom, was not only incredibly friendly and involved in the daily operations of the inn, but went above and beyond for us in every way possible. Our room was charming and spacious, and the view was incredible! The staff was attentive and friendly as well — and we absolutely loved our breakfast attendant, Takia. She remembered our order every morning, was so fun to talk to and made our entire experience extra memorable. I would highly recommend this inn to anyone wanting a lovely historic downtown Charleston experience.

My favorite place to stay in Charleston. The people are always friendly and extremely kind. It is within walking distance to all of historic Charleston. The courtyard is so peaceful… I can work from here or just relax. The nightly wine and cheese is just one example of the simple things they do to make each stay a little more special. I highly recommend Kings Courtyard.

Great atmosphere and ambience feels like you are truly in the south.

The BEST customer service! We stayed here for 5 nights when we got married. The entire staff was so helpful with everything we needed. The free breakfast was so good! Complementary water bottles were a great perk! The courtyards are beautiful. We heard very little street noise. The only complaint is that the bed was a bit firm but we managed. We will certainly be back!

Friendly and helpful staff. Carolyn was great in getting our room reserved. Jessica was helpful getting our tours setup and giving us information we needed to know. The continental breakfast that is served is much more! Service is great! The Inn is beautiful and quaint. Sits right in the middle of the historic district and by the market. Walking distance to many shops, dining and attractions. Great place to stay!

A classic Southern Hotel. A great place.

Charming little inn! Friendly staff always willing to answer questions. We loved the bottles of water on the way out the door each time we explored the town. The wine and cheese reception was lovely in the early evening. Thank you for a great stay!

Beautifully updated inn. I love all the courtyards, the staff is so helpful and friendly. Nice continental breakfast that can be delivered to your room or eaten in the lobby area. Also a nice wine & cheese cocktail hour each evening. Best of all, you walk out the door and you are in the center of it all, Kings St, where all the best shopping is! Love this place!

Location is great here for shopping. All staff are nice and very helpful too. Rooms are okay not great but we didnt spend much time in it anyways. Free breakfast and wine happy hour are a nice perk as well.

Great service and amenities at a historic hotel in downtown Charleston. The parking is extra, but it means you don't have to hunt for street parking. From the Kings Courtyard Inn your are only a great blocks from great shopping and dining and from the water. The staff is very friendly. This is a great place to stay till see historic Charleston.

I got married here on June 9 2018 in their Tabby Courtyard and had a fantastic time. The staff was so friendly and super helpful during my event and they worked so hard to make sure my special day went perfect. If you are looking to have a small wedding and reception in downtown Charleston then this is the perfect place. The hotel is within walking distance of basically everything from the market to waterfront park. I also stayed in one of their beautiful suites which had some of the softest pillows I've ever felt and the bed was so big they had a step stool available to help crawl up there. Here's a big thank you to all the staff here at the Kings Courtyard Inn, you guys are amazing and I can't thank y'all enough!

I wanted to point out an outstanding employee from this hotel who went out of her way to help us even when she wasn't on the clock at work (I believe her name was Courtney). My husband and I were looking at an area map trying to locate where we are near the market vs where we wanted to go. She saw we were having issues and went out of her way to assist us. She gave us great recommendations and some fantastic places to see. She mentioned she works here. I thought it was so sweet and kind that she took it upon herself to help us! I hope all of your employees do the same guest of the city whether they are staying at that particular hotel and clocked in or not. She was fantastic!

Awesome little place to stay. The rooms are little as expected in this historic hotel but very nice. Staff was great and the place was clean. Would definitely recommend.

I have come and stayed at the Kings Courtyard for years and have always had a good experience. You can order breakfast to come to your room. Also everyday they have wine and cheese between 5 and 6 pm.

I am giving this hotel 2 starts because it needs some TLC in the common areas and the staff although nice could have been more enthusiastic and welcoming. Our room was well-appointed, clean and updated, but the common areas were rundown and lacked any kind of attention to aesthetics. The outdoor patio and indoor courtyard would have been so much nicer with some updated decor and plants, really anything that might have added some comfort and interest. One exception was the main lobby that was nicely furnished. But beyond that the rest of the hotel looked a bit run-down and in need of some updates and decoration. The location was great, and again our room was nice, but the price tag was not worth it.

My daughter & I had a delightful stay here. Charming very clean room & such a relaxing atmosphere. The wine & cheese hour & the breakfast were excellent with friendly staff & other guests so friendly & helpful. Such a perfect location for touring downtown. Would gladly stay here again.

Charming Inn well situated in the King Street shopping district and within walking distance to many fine restaurants. About one-third of the rooms feature fire places. Ours had a mini fridge.

We were there meeting up with my brother and his family and they had made their reservations at another big upscale chain hotel long before we did. We had to find somewhere close to them and selected the Kings Courtyard Inn. Our room was comfortable, the continental breakfast was tasteful and the staff extremely courteous and helpful. We took advantage of making reservations through the hotel for Circa 1886. My brother and his family along with us said it was one of the finest dinning experiences anywhere. I gave my brother a quick tour and he commented that when they come back they will be staying at the Kings Courtyard Inn.

This hotel could not have been more perfect for our getaway weekend for my birthday! Especially if you love historic hotels, you will love the charm of this place combined with beautifully decorated and modern rooms. The location is absolutely unbeatable in the heart of King Street shopping district, and their parking area is very conveniently located behind the hotel with direct access from the parking lot into the lobby. The have a lovely wine and cheese hour from 5-6 each day, and breakfast and coffee can be delivered to your room at no extra charge! Our room came with a fireplace which was romantic and functional and kept the room very toasty at night! We would absolutely stay here again next time we come to Charleston and highly recommend if you’re looking for charm and comfort in the heart of downtown Charleston!

This place has charm and class. Prime location near the most beautiful sights on the streets of Charleston and great attention to detail in the room.

Absolutely LOVE this gorgeous little inn! The manager, Carolyn, even gave us a full tour, and explained all the historic, charming little things you might not normally even notice! The service is fantastic, the location is incredible, and the rooms are just amazing. It had that perfect mix classoc historic but with modern touches! A must stay in Charleston!

Great location, center of the city! Wonderful staff! Great breakfast! Our last day of our weekend after we had turned in our room, we got hit with a tropical storm, the staff allowed us to clean up in a vacant room before our flight. What a great company!

We had a great time there. The place very nice and a up dated room with a working fireplace. The hotel was central located to all attraction. There isn't any restaurant there, but a very nice one two doors down. The staff was helpful and are very willing to make your stay comfortable.

We were a group of 6 celebrating a friends 50th birthday! We were very happy with our stay, your hotel and the amenities. Highly recommend!
Wine & cheese each evening was very nice and a great way to unwind after a day in Charleston and relax before dinner. The breakfast staff was excellent and food was good for a Continental Breakfast. One of the guys even served us outside in the courtyard, which was nice.

The hotel was a neat experience. It was much older which gave it a different type of vibe than I am used to. The room was clean along with the rest of the hotel. There was a wine and cheese tasting for the guests in the evening, along with complimentary sherry later on. There is a neat little courtyard in the middle of the hotel that has a small fountain and some plants. I thought it was a relaxing place to sit and a nice touch. Dogs are also allowed at the hotel which I thought was definitely a plus! Overall I had an enjoyable time and loved being in the middle of alot of popular places. I would definitely go back.

One of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. The staff is amazing and friendly. The breakfast brought to my door was fantastic. They were all super sweet to my pup I had with me and the rooms are beautiful. Not to mention the ideal location it's in.

I would have to dis-agree with the other reviews… Rooms are way over priced and the room cleanliness by house keeping was poor. Our patio was filthy, hair on the bathroom floors upon arrival, had to ask for towels daily. The checkout staff was non-receptive. The only thing nice about the room I can say nice was that the bed was comfortable and fireplace was romantic. We left the hotel and spent our last 2 nights at the Belmond Charleston Place which had the best accommodations on our trip. Very elegant & up-scale…

Neat historic experience in downtown Charleston. Not sure what the other rooms looked like; though ours was super charming, with an updated bathroom, and a gas fireplace. If you aren't used to something old, this place can be a little intimidating, however, they are nice clean rooms. Totally recommend having your complementary breakfast sent to your room, and eating breakfast in bed.

Loved my stay here, the courtyard is beautiful and it is very convenient to everything. I love the historic preservation of this hotel, and the staff was very courteous and helpful.

Can't say enough great things about this venue. The rooms are spacious and the decor is appropriate for the historic downtown location. And speaking of location, it is absolutely fantastic. Central to everything you want to see in Charleston. Easy walking distance to Market and Lower King. Only about a 15 minute walk to some of the trendier spots on Upper King. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I cannot recommend this property highly enough. Do yourself a favor and stay here on your next trip to Charleston. You won't regret it!

My husband and I visited Charleston for the first time and enjoyed every moment! The Kings Courtyard Inn is where history meets southern hospitality. I can't say enough great things about Kings Courtyard — from the friendly and professional staff, sun-filled courtyards, close proximity to shopping, this Inn has it all! We will be back soon to enjoy a trip with the entire family.

To celebrate our twentieth wedding anniversary, my wife and I spent three nights at the inn. The staff was top-notch; everyone went out of their way to be friendly and accommodating. Our room was just as pictured, although a bit darker and smaller than expected. The amenities were many. The breakfast was nicely served in either the period dining room or one of the brick floored courtyards which feature fountains. The atmosphere is tranquil and inviting, the breakfast is deliciously cooked to order (if you choose to order off the menu), and the complimentary morning newspaper and evening sherry is just the touch one would expect to receive when staying at a friend's home. Our favorite part of our stay at Kings Courtyard Inn was the central location to shops, the market, restaurants, historic house and walking tours, as well as nightlife, galleries, and museums. One note to new visitors to Charleston, use one of the free trolleys to navigate the town when it's too hot to walk or if you're too tired. They loop through several neighborhoods and reach all corners of the city.
