Our room is nice and the staff is great.

I loved how quaint it was and the staff was amazing. My only complaint was the noisy woman who sat outside of our room in the courtyard until 3 in the morning!

I love the quaintness of this place! The staff is AMAZING! It's close to everything that you wanna see.

Let me first say how amazing the staff here is. My daughter and I had a wonderful girls getaway and Darren was a joy to talk with every day. They made sure we were comfortable and taken care of. The complementary breakfast and evening wine and cheese were a great start and end to our day. The location was also amazing. We parked our car and didn't need it for our entire stay. We could easily walk everywhere we wanted to go. We will definitely stay here again.

We had a fabulous time! The room was beautiful, but what made our stay was the wonderful staff! Darren was our Charleston guru. He made our stay absolutely fantastic! Gerald was so friendly and made gorgeous plates for Happy Hour. The room fresheners went overboard to make sure my husband was kept in chocolate and the breakfast crew was so helpful and nice. We will only stay here for our future trips!

Best place I’ve stayed at possibly ever! Loved everything about this place from the first time I booked it up until not wanting to leave! The people who work there are nothing less than incredible! I felt like I knew them all & could carry on a conversation with them like we didn’t just meet or something lol. Any request I had they made it happen! I loved it there can’t wait to go back!

The location is amazing right in the heart of Charleston. Beautiful courtyards and rooms while older were still very
nice. Where this inn really shines was an incredible staff.

Staff is very accommodating and the rooms are clean and quiet, we have truly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this Inn.

The staff are very helpful and friendly. Beautiful historic inn with great views. My husband was having trouble walking and the staff continually offered to drive and or pick us up from our destinations/ reservations. Very accommodating and pleasant. Highly recommend this establishment! Its close to everything and yet is quiet. Parking was not close but didn't pose a problem. We were able to walk/wheelchair to many sights. Beautiful rooms. Central location to everything. Parking is a bit of a struggle but otherwise this is an amazing hotel.

We’ve stayed here 2 times. Both times the staff has been extremely friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean. There breakfast and reception hour was very impressive.

Great historic place to stay. Right in the middle of everything Charleston has to offer.

Quaint small hotel in a wonderful location. The staff was the best part of our experience. Darren and Archie could not do enough for us. The breakfast was a great way to start out each day and the wine and cheese gathering each night started our evenings.

There are only 2 things that should be fixed: more silent AC's and the Wi-Fi in the rooms are terrible.

Such a cozy retreat right off the main street. Charming rooms, ask for a haunted room. Outdoor jacuzzi. Nice breakfast, peaceful fountain courtyard. I have stayed here twice and look forward to coming back.

We stayed for one night of our honeymoon — beautiful location. So many wonderful sites within walking distance. Helpful and friendly staff. Clean and historic. Great value. Officially our go to Charleston hotel!

This is our second time here. So far the same charm and hospitality, that we enjoyed, our last visit.

Lovely hotel. Nice room with balcony. Love the courtyard for breakfast. Nearly didn't discover that the little "pool" is a spa. Wow.

This rating is three stars for a Three star inn. First thing is parking is a public lot 1/4 mile away from front desk. Soooo… drop your bags at the desk, then drive car to lot rain or shine, upon check out repeat. I understand this is a historic very old building. Having said that, lots of peeling paint, mold in the bathroom, squeaking floor boards. Room feels like a 40 yr old holiday inn, musty, damp. Spent the previous night in a 200 yr old b&b in st Augustine, no comparison. Not a bad stay, just not what I expected based on reviews.

Liked being right in the middle of the historic district. Breakfast was OK but ran out often. Parking is not at inn but a couple blocks away. Quiet place. Worth a try if you like Charleston.

Historic inn, great staff, comfortable rooms. It feels it's age a bit, could use a spruce up, but all in all a great find right in the middle of everything. Would definitely stay again.

Stayed three nights this week. Very disappointed. Room was extra small, air conditioning worked intermittently, breakfast from 7 to 10 but everything was gone by 9am even the milk for cereal was empty. Air conditioning drains in front of the elevator making a slippery and dangerous entry into the elevator. Parking is a 10 minute walk from the hotel. I was charged $10 per day more than my reservation was booked. Never stay again.

I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The free breakfast was great and they changed it every day I was there which was nice to have something different. They also had a complementary 5-6pm happy hour with wine and cheese. The room was nice and comfortable. Location is great for restaurants, activities, & walking around. The only downside for me in the summer was no pool but they have a jacuzzi.

Super friendly staff — southern hospitality through and through. Incredibly charming property. Perfect location — central to everything we wanted to walk to. Bed was so-so (ours was super high but they have a step stool), pillows okay. The rooms could use some updating, especially in the bathroom. FYI — the humidity can set off the smoke alarm so keep the bathroom door shut after your shower and keep the ac blasting or you may be rudely awakened at 3am.

Friendly service, clean room comfortable bed. Everything we needed. The spa was nice with absolutely no foam. If you let your room get too humid it will kick off the smoke detector so keep the ac cranked.

We booked this hotel for our stay during our February 2018 wedding weekend in Charleston and used it as a sort of "home base" for our guests to gather throughout the weekend. The entire experience was sensational! First off, it's the perfect location — it's so close to bars and restaurants, the historic district, and shopping. The hotel has a wonderful southern charm that really enhances the experience of being in Charleston. It is clean, comfortable, and well-maintained while still preserving it's historical character. The outdoor patio seating was the perfect setting for our guests to gather, mingle, and relax. And the staff is absolutely incredible! They were so friendly and accommodating — they made us and our guests feel right at home. Their breakfast is wonderful and make sure to catch the complimentary wine and cheese "happy hour. " Meeting Street Inn helped make our wedding weekend absolutely perfect; we can't wait to return!

Beautiful historic hotel. The night we arrived we had meeting time in the lobby with wine and cheese and a wonderful breakfast in the morning. Great start to our honeymoon! Love all the old decor.

This place is so charming! Great location, within walking distance of so many places. The Inn’s daily breakfast and happy hour are terrific for meeting other guests and sharing your Charleston adventures. Darrin and the rest of the staff were awesome. Can’t wait to come back!

The front desk agents were not friendly at all. We booked the room for two days but they did the check in for only one day, did not ask for a contact phone and next day they were looking for us to see why we do not check out. The place can use a little paint… in our room the ceiling was peeling. On the positive side we liked the atmosphere, good continental breakfast. Five star for the rest of the staff.

Stayed in January. Very nice place to stay, great location, immaculately clean, very responsive staff, great breakfast far beyond "continental", nice wine reception in the evening. Probably not a place to "stay in the room" but accommodations are adequate and patio facilities are excellent. Great skyline views from the upper floors. No complaints at all. We have stayed at many other hotels in Charleston (some of which we will not revisit) and this is definitely a "best value" and very good quality.

Have stayed other places before, but since our first time here this is the only place to stay. Across the street from the open market, and within walking distance to too much to list. Service and atmosphere is unrivaled!

What a wonderful quaint place. Darren (inn employee) was a wonderful part of the experience. Always happy and enriching guests experiences. We will be back. Thanks Darren! Wonderful ambience can only imagine how wonderful it must be when Charleston is not plagued with historic snow and ice!

Enjoyed our stay, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Hot breakfast plus wine & cheese reception was very good and much appreciated. Parking is included, which we had not assumed, making the rate seem all the better. Housekeeping needs to do a better job cleaning off surfaces. Ours was dusty and still had crumbs from a previous guest on table tops. Updates needed: More outlets in rooms for computer, etc. Most significantly, room locks need to be updated with new electronic card entry system. Old fashioned keys with room numbers are still in use could be duplicated and then used later to reenter rooms. I was not comfortable leaving any valuables in the room, even with a small room safe. Keys are not well safeguarded at the front desk, but left in open bins. If a clerk stepped away for a moment, someone could take them. What happens at night? Otherwise, the location is great and we really enjoyed it. Would we return? Yes.

We just spent Christmas at the Meeting Street Inn. We had stayed here about 25 years ago and we were pleased to find it was still as beautiful and quaint. Very clean, very comfortable and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Breakfast and cocktail hour were great. It gave us the opportunity to visit with other guests and we met some wonderful people. Now it isn't a modern, fancy hotel, but it sure gives you all the charm of Charleston. Plus you couldn't ask for a better location. Don't change!

In late October, 2017, we stayed at the Meeting Street Inn. We were overjoyed and awed by the Inn itself, the great location, and the efficient, attentive staff. Our spacious beautifully appointed room was even more wonderful and relaxing then we had hoped for. Additionally, each morning we were treated to a different and wonderful breakfast. Each afternoon delicious cookies appeared in the lobby. And much to our surprise and delight each evening at 5:00 p. M. We were spoiled with wine, crackers and cheeses accompanied by the most restful and delightfully calming music in the lobby. It made us feel as if we were truly transported to an earlier Charleston, SC southern gentile time. The Meeting Street Inn is so centrally located in the old town area that you can walk to almost everything shopping, dinning as well as tours and other activities. We could not have been happier or more impressed. We would not hesitate to return and would definitely recommend the Meeting Street Inn to anyone who would like to experience a relaxed and pampered stay in the heart of old town Charleston, SC.

The Meeting Street Inn looked great when we did our on line research. The facility is charming and pleasant as was the staff. Location is great. Room need a good cleaning. We would have loved to spend a 2nd night here but did not because the room that we were in, needed a GOOD deep cleaning. Most of the base boards were very dusty. I personally cleaned the grantee counter tops. I went over the tops 4 times and every time more dirt came up. The bead posters were dusty, under the bead had not been vacuumed for what looked like a year +. As was noted in another review I saw two reaches. A big disappointment. We make a trip to Charlestown once a year we can not recommend this facility. If the room had been clean we would rate The Meeting Street Inn at a 4 Star+.

Great rooms. Bed were comfortable and stately. The desk staff were friendly and very helpful. The hotel is located right in the middle of everything. Food is all around, as is the historic district. Would stay there again!

I love this place. It is within walking distance of everything. The atmosphere of the Inn is wonderful. The rooms are beautiful and the beds are so comfortable. I could use a step stool as the top of the mattress comes up to my waist. The staff is so friendly and helpful. A terrific experience.

Got room 201. Good sized room. Nice bathroom. Historic building so window unit for air conditioning and cabinet for closet space. Room is on end over street. No noise issue from traffic but sun shines in through shutters on the morning. Don't expect to sleep late.

This hotel was great! We enjoyed the wine and cheese hour and the very tasty breakfast in the morning. Rooms are comfy and spacious. Only downside was the off-street parking, but that wasn't a huge deal.

Great service. Continental breakfast is nice, afternoon wine and cheese is a must, complimentary cookies in the lobby all day, and chocolate brought to our door unannounced? Couldn't ask for more. The room is very nice and clean and had a southern charm feel to it.

Lovely historic inn in the heart of Charleston. Rooms are compact but comfortable with antique furniture. Upscale guest amenities including a good breakfast and a wine-and-cheese reception each evening from 5 to 6.

Firstly, I loved the atmosphere of this place! I was a big fan of the rooms and the outside porch and the wine hour in the afternoons. Also, an amazing location. We walked to everything. The downfall, two of the nights I woke up to use the restroom and found a cockroach scurrying across the bathroom floor. I never saw any other signs and the housekeepers did do a good job of cleaning the room each day. In addition, one morning I went to eat one of the provided yogurts and it had been expired for over a week. Other than that, I enjoyed the food and the employees. Everyone was very nice and helpful.

Truly one of the world's finest hotels. Josiah met us as we arrived and is an amazing young man. Everything about French a Quarter is exemplary. From the welcome when you arrive to your departure is absolute perfection. Be sure to go to the wine and cheese reception.

Parking two and half blocks away. Glass on bathroom door, no curtain. Had to take one off closet door to use on bathroom door. Outlets in closet and bath not secured to wall, so wires exposed. Hole in closet wall. But, the worst was the terrible potpourri odor in the room from what we were told was the cleaner used. Sitting on porch with room door open to try to air it out. Paint blotches all over floor. Breakfast was outstanding!

Great room, great staff, great place. Very pleased with the stay. I worked in the high-end hospitality industry for years, and truly this place should be a 4-Star, not 3. The room was beautiful, the complimentary breakfast was scratch-made, and the evening reception was done with care. I also loved the breezeway through the first floor, with nooks for reading and a cozy little hot tub in there as well. The GM is fantastic and was around for most of our stay. Only thing to note is the parking, which is a bit tricky. Take some time to learn the rules and do it correctly. Nothing much to do with the hotel, but downtown Charleston is very strict in regards to parking. The city parking staff are your standard no-BS local government hourly employees so make sure to learn the rules and stick to them. I'd stay at the Meeting Street Inn again in a heartbeat!

We used the Meeting Street Inn for our November wedding guests! The staff was excellent and our guests were very pleased with the accommodations! A great location with a wonderful atmosphere. We can not say enough about how easy they made the whole wedding block process. A delight to work with!

Loved this quaint little hotel with my wife. Very full of character and great staff, we enjoyed the extreme walk-ability to shops and sights in Charleston. We felt like the price to feature ratio was great!

Had pretty high expectations of this place, but was a little disappointed. Some of the hardware in the room was broken, the outlet in the bathroom didn't work — meaning we had to detach the hairdryer from the wall and use outside the bathroom, and one of the chairs on our patio was an inside chair that was ruined from getting wet. I think you're really paying for the location, which is really great. Biggest resentment to this place was the lack of parking (and having to pay for it). We had to park three blocks away on Hassel St. (oh, the irony) and it made our quick weekend vacation a pain! The parking lot we had was shared with a public lot, and really the only thing saving our spot was a traffic cone with a 'Meeting Street Inn' sticker on it — not to mention there was no one attending to the lot. Someone easily could have moved the cone, parked in our spot, and we would have been in a pickle. For fear of losing our parking spot, we decided not to leave downtown regardless that we did want to travel to Folly Beach one of our days. We did use the shuttle service to our car upon leaving and the driver was very courteous. Breakfast was great, and it was a really nice touch to get to eat in the lobby or outside in the shade. We decided to leave one night early. Place was not bad, just wasn't great and not really worth what we paid.
