My husband and I stayed here to celebrate our 24th wedding anniversary. As soon as we drove up we were immediately impressed with the friendly staff and it just continued throughout our stay. They pay the upmost attention to the smallest of details to ensure the safety and comfort of their guests. When we returned to our room we were surprised with a complimentary chilled bottle of champagne. I’d highly recommend and hopefully will be back very soon.

So much to love at the beautiful French Quarter Inn: champagne welcome, pillow menu, complimentary bicycles, plentiful breakfast, afternoon happy hour, evening milk and cookies with a port nightcap… never mind all the friendly staff! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay last week.

We stayed here this past weekend and would highly recommend it. The only issue we had was with valet (recommend calling down in advance) and that was because it took them a longer than normal time to retrieve the car.

Absolutely the best. I loved the hotel and all the staff. I can only praise the staff from Check in to Valet. Wonderful people and the room was beautiful. Southern hospitality at its finest. This hotel should be a 5 star. Would love to stay again.

Absolutely gorgeous hotel. Service was top notch from every worker I encountered. Champagne at check in and they had sparkling cider for my daughter. We stayed in a junior suite and it was spacious and very clean. Wine and cheese in the evening and delicious cookies and carrot cake with a sweet port later that night. Upon returning to our room it was turned down and treats left on the table. The location is great, right across from the market. We took the recommended horse carriage tour and learned some interesting history of Charleston. Will definitely be returning next time we are here.

My wife and I stayed at the French Quarter Inn from August 5-8. This hotel is without a doubt one of the finest hotels in the city of Charleston. The rooms are well appointed, the staff was courteous and responsive, particularly Anice and Josh. The location of the hotel is superb. Without question, I plan in the near future to visit Charleston again. I would stay nowhere in the city other than the French Quarter Inn. I did experience one rather minor issue which I think should have been handled differently. I put a shirt in to be laundered. The printed form indicated that the cost would be six dollars. I was instead charged eight dollars. The explanation finally given was that there was an up charge because the shirt was linen. This was no where stated. I think this should have been handled so that I as a patron would not have to pay more than the stated price.

My husband and I stayed at the French Quarter Inn one night for a couple's night away. We actually booked with The Spectator, but due to some unforeseen problems with some of their rooms, we were booked with French Quarter in their King Deluxe Suite. Upon check-in we were poured a glass of bubbly, nice touch. We also saw the wine and snack spread which looked lovely, but we didn't partake. The room was spacious with a great view of the Charleston skyline. The bath products by Deep Steep were wonderful — I've never loved a hotel toiletry until this stay! Breakfast spread was beautiful. Despite the disappointment in our hotel of choice not being available, we came away very pleased. Cody, Front Desk Supervisor, was professional and courteous.

We had a great time at The French Quarter Inn. We booked a transportation package to pick us up/ drop off at airport which was definitely worth it. The location is perfect to everything in downtown Charleston. The hotel is one block over from the market so it's definitely central. We received champagne on arrival which was an unexpected plus. The have a continental breakfast that's different than most places but still good. Water, tea, and coffee are available in the lobby all day. They have a wine and cheese hour everyday as well as a milk and cookies hour. The only downside was they have no kitchen so you can't order food on site. That was a bit inconvenient but not terrible. The room was clean and large. The one we had overlooked the market. Our view was much better than some of the other views from the balconies on the property. But I guess that's what you get in a city. All of the staff was friendly and helpful. They booked some tours for us gave restaurant recommendations. The cleaning ladies were awesome too. Every employee there spoke to you when they walked by. Extremely good service. Some of the best hotel service I have ever had. We enjoyed Charleston so much we're planning a trip back. I would definitely stay at the French Quarter Inn again.

Beautiful Charleston hotel, located in the heart of downtown Charleston. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Clean rooms, and bathrooms. Just around the corner of the downtown city market. And other great Charleston attractions. They really go out of their way to make sure that your stay is up to your complete satisfaction.

We stayed here while we were visiting the area and loved it! We were also celebrating our anniversary. The staff was amazing as they helped my husband order a beatutiful surprise bouquet, recommended a local company to use for a sitter for our daughters, and booked us reservations for a romantic dinner. They also surprised us by just showing up at the door with a bottle of champagne on the actual day of our anniversary. They have a great complimentary breakfast that they are happy to deliver to your room, champagne upon checkin, wine and cheese in the evening, and cookies and milk at night. Needless to say, our two seven year old daughters loved it as much as we did!

Every element of this hotel is outstanding. Customer service — professional, accommodating, friendly, authentic. Housekeeping — probably the best I have experienced in any hotel — friendly, helpful and take their time to do a superior job. Amenities — excellent. From the delicious, gourmet continental breakfast to the thoughtful extras such as available water/lemonade/coffee and so much more — overall they provide everything you need. I laughed when I saw the pillow menu but ended up trying a new pillow and admit to loving it more than my pillow at home. Location — convenient to everything from our favorite restaurant, Cru (walking distance) to shopping, etc. We visit Charleston annually for Spoleto Festival and have stayed at another property for the last 7 years until this year — this is definitely our new home away from home.

The French Quarter Inn is a great hotel! Every detail is amazingly addressed. From our check in experience with a glass of champagne to the nightly turn down service this hotel gets it right! The location one block off of the market is perfect for those flying in to town without a car. Everything is within walking distance of this centrally located hotel. We also loved the provided breakfast each morning, the cheese and wine happy hour and the late night milk and cookies. Our room was excellent! This is truly a 5 star experience!

The location of this Inn is superb! RIGHT in the MIDDLE of everything! Easy walking distance to the water, near by restaurants. The market that is open year long is right around the corner. All in all, a very central location.

Had some snags during check-in but management made it right. The hotel is truly lovely and there was not one member of the staff we encountered that wasn't courteous and responsive. Breakfast is as wonderful as advertised, the quiche were a particular favorite. Guests should bear in mind that parking is a premium in this area of Charleston; the hotel offers (borderline mandatory) valet service and I found it more convenient to just order an Uber or walk and enjoy the city than to try to deal with parking at secondary destinations. My companion would like to point out that she appreciated the thorough and detail oriented work of the staff performing the room cleaning and turn down services. A special mention to Anice and Sandy who went out of their way to take care of us and make us feel like their very special guests during our stay. Thank you all for a lovely time.

Charleston is a very special place. This is our 2nd visit, and I am pretty sure that we will return, probably within a year. We chose to stay at the FQI. Based on reviews, (like usual) and it does not disappoint. Everything about this place is simply incredible. It is without a doubt the FINEST hotel we have ever visited, and we travel a great deal. Staff, comfort, cleanliness, price, location, etc. Make it just about perfect. My wife and I both love this place. We don't need a reason to visit Charleston, but the French Quarter Inn makes the decision to come back again very soon, very — very easy…

Our stay here was unforgettable! Jessica, a hotel representative who works on site, delivered the highest level of customer service that we have been longing for from previous accommodations. From check in to check out she made sure that everything was exactly to specifications. It was surprising the level of detail Jessica had. Request were catered to promptly and thoroughly. She and her team are supported by a highly competent valet, maintenance and serving staff. They all have friendly smiles and are always looking to lend some insight on their local favorites. They offer their guests a nightly assortment of beverages both alcoholic and non-alcoholic to go along with a high-end appetizer buffet. We will be letting our friends and family know where to stay when they plan their next visit to Charleston. I know we will most certainly be back very soon. Thank you all!

Location is great, however the rates are incredibly high for this quality of this hotel. The service at the front desk is lovely, but the in-room service is sub-par and the hotel itself is nothing to write home about. Being our first visit to Charleston, I relied on reviews and online recommendations. When arrived we were sorely disappointed having spent over $1900 for three nights. We really thought that we would be staying in a hotel of higher caliber for this high a cost. I would readily spend this for a Four Seasons or Mandarin Hotel, but certainly not for this hotel. I hate to give negative reviews, but this was outrageous. Disappointed beyond description.

Very cute hotel! Great service and they treat their guests to daily wine and cheese as well as other foods. One slight downside is that the walls are a bit thin so you can hear a lot of what's going on outside. They were kind enough to upgrade us and send us some champagne though!

Very nice hotel HIGHLY recommended! The staff go above and beyond for everyone. Valet service was very accommodating and customer oriented. Best continental breakfast I have ever seen. I was expecting cold cereal and cold donuts, nothing was farther from the truth. Pastries and Quiche were great. Coffee was excellent, want a mimosa for breakfast there is the items to make it. Wine and cheese in the afternoon, Port and cookies in the evening, And they will even deliver breakfast to your room if you choose not to socialize as that was part of the room package we purchased for bed and breakfast. Cleaning service will make sure that you have everything you need, when they go in to turn down the beds, used towels are replaced. This was great because in the August heat, we would take a midday shower from being outdoors. Steps from the City Market, what more could you ask for?

Hands down the best all-around hotel experience I've ever had, as well as the only hotel I've ever given a solid 5 stars. The breakfast is delicious, fresh, and healthy with a multitude of options, not to mention the wine and cheese (among other snacks) they serve every night ended up being something my family and I looked forward to every day. Immaculately clean rooms, decorations are beautiful and the entire atmosphere is welcoming, charming, and delectably fancy without feeling snooty or overdone. Best of all the staff members are phenomenal. The front desk staff are warm (an absolute delight to talk to) and experts on the city. They seem to know how to get you excited to go explore Charleston. We asked them about recommendations for dinner and within minutes they had a car picking us up and taking us to an incredible restaurant we would have never found on our own. Valet staff are all super sweet too. You couldn't possibly regret choosing this hotel.

A fine example of Southern Charm and Hospitality! If one word could easily describe our stay at the French Quarter Inn ("FQ") in Charleston, it would be, "Exceptional". The accommodations were top-notch; the room, the common areas, including lobby and terraces, were beautiful, and extremely well-maintained. The staff was beyond courteous and helpful, from the doormen to the concierge to the housekeeping staff; our every request was quickly and perfectly fulfilled, from arranging transportation, to making recommendations for dinner ideas to making reservations. The FQ goes the extra mile with complimentary continental breakfast, wine and cheese tasting and evening snacks of fresh baked cookies and ice-cold milk, daily. Turn-down service each night was another very nice touch. Our stay was truly perfect; we look forward to returning to Charleston again and will definitely be choosing the French Quarter. They spoil you from the moment you arrive until checkout. It's a perfect getaway whether you stay for one night or a week. The rooms are big and beautiful and you can select your pillow from a pillow menu with seven different types. The beds are comfy too. There's coffee and tea available all day. Milk and cookies come our at night for a bed time snack. We enjoyed our time there and will definitely be back.

We had such an amazing anniversary get-a-way at this lovely hotel! The staff is welcoming, friendly, and helpful. We were greeted with champagne at check-in. (Always a plus! ) The decor throughout this hotel is beyond beautiful and the location is prime for touring, shopping and dining. Our room was well appointed and featured a superb mix of old world and modern decor; a boutique vibe. We enjoyed a phenomenal complementary Happy Hour followed by dinner at a local favorite, Husk, that the concierge was able to get us into. Upon returning from our evening on the town, we enjoyed complementary Port and late night snacks before retiring to our room. The turndown service was wonderful; robes laid out, a tray of local sweets, and water. We opted to have our breakfast brought to our room the next morning. (The breakfast was included with our room reservation. ) A tray with fresh flowers and tasty breakfast options that we preselected the night before was promptly delivered at the time we had requested. We will definitely be returning!

Amazing hotel in the heart of downtown Charleston. The facility is immaculate, and beautiful. Champagne at check-in. The furnishings are of the highest quality. The beds are super comfortable. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. Free breakfast. Drinks and snacks all day. Wine and cheese at happy hour. Port and dessert at night. They even have a pillow concierge to pick your favorite type of pillow. Highly recommend.

Horrible. After a long day of travel… had booked a suite for four days, arrived at hotel at 3:50pm, room wasn't ready so they took our phone # and told us they'd call to let us know when it was. We waited until around 4:50, hadn't heard so we checked on them. They'd forgotten, told us it would be another 10 mins, got into the room at 5:20, had a dinner at 6pm. Suite was a bit smelly, old, worn furniture, weird layout. Small bathroom, one sink. Definitely not worth the extra money. Manager told us he'd discount the rate but did not do that, either. Old hotel, would definitely not stay there again as we saw a few other newer and nicer places.

Very comfortable hotel, located in the city centre but very quiet, wherever is convenient, such as markets. Service here is attentive, milk and cookies are delicious. I give it four stars, because it is much bigger than I thought. Taking into account the prices here, if small, I would be more like it.

We stayed at the French Quarter Inn this past weekend for our anniversary and loved it. Service was great, hotel is clean, and staff was very accommodating. There was breakfast in the morning, wine and cheese in the afternoon and cookies and milk at night before bed… everything was yummy. The hotel is in an excellent location, close to everything. We didn't even need to rent a car, it is walking distance to shopping, restaurants, bars, and the water. They offered free bicycles if you're interested. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will be back next time we're in the area.

What a fantastic stay we had in late August 2013! Beautiful hotel and a wonderful southern hospitality experience. Many things from champaign at arrival, wine and cheese receptions in the evening, turn down service, pillow menu and the list goes on. The staff was beyond exemplary. Special thanks goes to Scott, the Service Manager on location. We will never forget all he did to make our stay memorable. He is a true professional in the industry! The hotel itself is beautiful, yet it has a quaint and comfortable feel. Much due to the attributes of the staff. We will be revisiting when we return to Charleston. Completely satisfied.

Although I typically do not bother with posting reviews, I would be negligent if I failed to properly recognize this truly outstanding establishment. We recently contracted with French Quarter Inn and Tristan to host a rehearsal dinner for my Son's wedding. The food and service were nothing short of superb. You can search high and low for a venue to host a similar affair but you will not find one with better food or service. In addition to the behind the scenes staff which produced this delicious food, I would like to recognize and thank Rachael, Caleb, Josh, Hannah and Melissa for the efficient, pleasant and professional service they provided which made this an evening we will never forget. Needless to say, the French Quarter Inn and Tristan have my strongest possible endorsement.

Our experience at the French Quarter Inn this past week was wonderful. The service can't be beat; the friendliness of the staff was excellent and very accommodating with each need we had. Location is perfect. Only complaint was that the bed was too soft for me; I sleep on a Tempurpedic mattress so nothing would be good enough for me. They did what they could to help but nothing is like home. I understand their sister hotel "Harbor View" has Tempurpedic mattresses if you feel the bed might be an issue for you. In a nut shell the hotel was "awesome".
