The description of the hotel quotes on its website: "clean rooms". Nothing further from reality. Simple hotel, something old. Well located.

Free breakfast is coffee and assorted pack of danishes. Room was half cleaned; two used towels were crumpled on the bathroom floor, clearly dirty. This is a property that clearly shows it's age, which wouldn't be negative if it was better cleaned and maintained to a more reasonable level, even accounting for a two-star budget hotel status.

Good hotel. Well located everything is close by (15 to 20 mins walk depending on your speed) go up the street and you go straight to the crooked street (is an upward walk). Parking is small so do try and arrive at 3pm check in so that you have better chance in getting a front side parking. Staff was very nice and helpful. They to take 150.00 dls just in case there is damages, so have that in mind (a lot or most hotels in the bay area do that) They will return them at check out if there is no incidents.

Rooms are comfortable and have air conditioning. Bathroom is clean and well kept with all amenities expected. Breakfast was slightly disappointing — coffee and donuts is not what I would expect. But the staff are friendly and it was fit for purpose and in a good location.

A hotel that is in a good location with parking and breakfast sounded good. Breakfast cannot be described as this one. It's a great pity just a doughnut and tea that's all.
The rooms are clean and spacious but very noisy and the mattresses (feather core) very uncomfortable.
Price quite expensive but for the location apparently normal here.

On the first day a erbaermliches room, 2 meters next to the street on the ground floor, after the room exchange… it was better. Per night $300, after all with parking.

We stayed two nights over the weekend. Pros: The Inn was at a great location on Lombard street and it seemed to be in the middle of everything. We could walk to the coast and piers and it was a short ride to the Bridge. The parking is free, which is a huge plus in SF. They provided breakfast, but it was just doughnuts and coffee/hot chocolate. The rooms were pretty clean and well kept and the bathroom was pretty big. The beds and pillows were pretty comfortable. Cons: The window in our room didn't seal all the way shut, so we could hear traffic and people all throughout the night. There was a huge verbal fight our second night that kept my whole room up for an hour because The window didn't seal. The shower was meant for a short person — the shower head was unreasonably low and they had a bar for the door I kept hitting my head on. The sink had hot water but the directions were opposite of normal. There is smoking allowed on the balcony, so you smell it as you walk to your room (I couldn't smell any smoke in our room though). The radiator was a pain to work with — you either got super hot or super cold air, there was no in-between. It's also extremely loud. We left it on the warmest A/C, but we still froze and had to turn it off during the night. We tried the heat the next day but it was unbearably hot. The staff wasn't bad, but they didn't really make me feel welcome or as a valued guest. Overall, this was definitely not worth the price.

We were making a joke about it being the "haunted elevator" sometimes it's fast and sometimes it's slow but it is definitely old! It was a pretty cute place needs a lot of work but the location location location was great!

This is an older hotel on a busy street corner that is very close (walking distance and we don't walk much) to the Wharf. It is affordable and exactly what we expected as it worked very well for us. There is a neighborhood market across the street that is run by a very charming couple. If your expectations are of all new and perfect… Go to an all new hotel and pay more. Thumbs up from us.

Staff were awesome: friendly, courteous, and all-around helpful. Rooms are a good size. They have a small fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and old AC/heater units. NO closets though! Beds are not the best, but are good enough for a good rest. Sheets smells like bleach; guess that's proof they do wash them though. Lol! Hotel itself is a bit rundown and can definitely use renovations and decor updates! Location is the best part out of this hotel/inn.

Perfect for a good location with walking distance to tourist sites. Not an excellent hotel, parking is rough but is there and free. Perfect for when you just need a place to stay.

Check-in was quick and painless. The room was basic, but has a small fridge and microwave as well as an iron and ironing boardboard, but no safe. The room was relatively clean. The "continental breakfast" was simply donuts, so don't stay here expecting an actual continental breakfast. The area was a bit loud with street noise as well as people in the parking lot.

Just what you would expect for the price. It's close to everything and that's important. The bathrooms were very nice and clean. If you stay on the side that faces Lombard St. Then expect some traffic noise in the early morning but it's not horrible. I stayed here on a Thursday night and on a Monday night and I had a great night sleep on both nights.

Stayed here at the last minute and got a good price. The room is average, staff was polite and helpful. There is parking but it fills up fast. Park and walk or use public transportation. Nice walk to pier 39. Overall I liked of though its not a too notch hotel.

For the price, location, and as a last minute booking, I give this place 4 stars. For a 2 star AAA rating, the rooms were clean, the staff was friendly. I think they deserve a three star rating from AAA, being in the hotel business myself, I know what to look for. Very pleased with our stay.

Unfortunately not so good experience…! Not available too paid rooms… Middle of the night without so say solution stuck with 2 kids on the street… So what can not be… Hotel pushes everything on tickets…?! What's there to push for a paid room…! Unfortunately quite poor… Otherwise dieht the plant on the photos better out than in Natura… Hotel is located next to bus stop demendsprechend rather loud… Super old native from the price even cheaper to recommend the COVA hotel…

Thanks to a last minute cancelation we were able to get the room. It was clean basic hotel furniture, plus it had parking even though we had to leave keys in the lobby. Guest friendly.

Hotel staff was very friendly. I had read some reviews from previous stays and people said their reservations were lost etc. My wife and I had no problems at all. The location and the price are unbeatable. Short walk to most attractions and sights. Definitely would recommend this hotel.

Great hotel staff on the front desk very helpful. Location in a fantastic place 15 minutes walk to fisherman's wharf. Room very clean and nice size bed was lovely. Would recommend. Me and my partner was very happy B-).

DO NOT STAY HERE! By far the worst hotel experience I've ever had. We ended up here through a hotel aggregator site. On check in, they tried to move us over 2 miles away and up charge us because their sister hotel didn't offer a similar room. The front desk was indignant and discourteous. I was so pissed, I wanted to burn that mother down! I told her I'd accept her deal and leave a bad review on every site I could think of online. She promptly cancelled our reservation and told us we were trespassing and she'd call the police.

Well located, Porch bus. Hotel OK but no notion of luxury but large bathroom, shower and bathtub, hairdryer, fridge, microwave in the room. Zero Noise Isolation. Average value for money.

I booked this hotel originally for one night on a Monday. The price was reasonable for a SF hotel once my AAA discount was applied. I had to call to add a second night (Tuesday) and the nightly rate was $10 more for the second not. Not much, but this part was a little frustrating. I opted for 2 double beds, as to upgrade to 2 queen beds was an additional $20 per night. I felt this was a bit over priced. Upon arrival, we were pleased with the overall curb appeal of the hotel. Check in was smooth. A plus was that there is private parking for hotel guests. Most are small and tight if you have a large vehicle, but a few are bigger. The rooms are very small with a large bathroom. The TV is small. Our remote was only programed to the cable, not the TV so we had to manually adjust the volume and power to the TV. The cable connection was poor and cut out a lot. The full beds were comfortable and they provided 4 pillows per bed, which was a nice surprise. There is no closet, but a small coat rack over the refrigerator, microwave, and coffee pot. Free Wi-Fi was another perk, although we found it to be somewhat slow. There is only one ice machine, which is located on the bottom floor next to the front desk. The continental breakfast was small and basic but looked decent. We didn't partake. There is no "do not disturb" sign for your room so we assumed there was no maid service for multiple night stays and didn't bother with putting away personal items. Wrong.

Fir the price, this place is hard to beat. It's a 15 min walk to fisherman's wharf and 2 blocks to lots of restaurants. Location wise, it's great. The room was a little on the small side, but it looked clean. The bonus was that there as a mini fridge and microwave so no worries about taking leftovers. The kind size bed was nice, and somewhat on the firm side so getting back support while you sleep is possible. The breakfast is nothing to rave about, tucked away in a little room, you get some pastries, orange juice and coffee. The parking is free but sometimes you'll have to double park. So if someone is leaving in the morning, you'll get an unexpected wake up call in your room. Free Wi-Fi is always good and the signal was dodgy at times, hit and miss. If you're focused on getting a good location at a reasonable price, this is a place worth considering.
