This place was nice. Very comfortable. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. Told then I wanted to stop by on our way back down but it turns out there is a week long convention in town, so we'll skip SF and go farther south to stay. I would deffinately stay here again. Great location, rooms, and staff! Thanks!

We stayed on the recommendation of our family and it lived up to reputation.
Cookies and coffee on the way back in after a long day top it off.
Also ask about driver, Cholo is just as good. We will be back.

Perfectly central location for shops and food. Adorable themed and really fun place to stay with a family. There’s so many things close by that you can walk to. Continental breakfast is provided and although there isn’t a place to eat it you can always grab food to go or take it up to your room. I stayed with my family of four and we all enjoyed the bright colors of the entire place, hammocks, and lit up palm trees. It was too cold to swim when we visited but the pool looked clean and inviting. The bathrooms were a bit small but very clean and updated and modern. I would definitely stay here again!

This was the only place we could park our uhaul when moving to the city. In that respect it worked fine. But otherwise it was incredibly expensive, almost 400 dollars, for a upgraded motel. The soap dispensers are bulk sized and the conditioner didn't work. It did not come with any bar of soap for washing hands. Service was good with a texting service and free breakfast.

Lovely place to stay, especially if you need parking when staying in San Francisco. The staff were super helpful and accessible through a texting service that allows guests to text them before and during their stay. They also put out pastries and refreshments all day!

Great location. Room had a living room with a couch and dining table. Then a separate bedroom and a separate shower. The room was Giant for the nightly rate. It was in a relatively good location, right along Union Street where there are lots of bars and Nightclub spots. It is also right next to the marina which is beautiful. The staff was okay, nothing special. All in all I definitely give it at Four Star review. Would definitely stay here again for work or just a night to get away! My only real complaint is that the rooms were not very well lit, but the size of the room and the accommodations really makeup for the poor lighting. I definitely would stay here again.

It was clean. It was quiet. The pool was nice for the kid. Staff was helpful. Parking was convenient. It was close to the Presidio which was where I needed to be. All in all, it was a solid experience.

Great stay nearby marina. Not to mention that they're a dog friendly location that cares about their four paw guests. The staff are amazingly friendly and care for details.

I visited the hotel for an art event. It was pretty cool as each room hosted one artist and their work. The rooms seemed nice.

I attended an art show where all the rooms were used as display spaces. It was a great venue. The rooms are unique and pleasant though a little on the smaller side. Inwuld recommend this hotel to someone who wanted a something a little more eclectic than your usual motel.

Lovely family motel with lots of retro charm. Nicely heated pool and good service. Great value for proximity to tourist activities.

Love the location! They are under construction, earthquake retrofits, but it's still fine.

Location of hotel was very convenient. Rooms were fine. No fridge or microwave but they did a! ways have coffee and some sweets available in the lobby. The only thing was that the hotel was under construction, so parking was limited and at $30 a night quite expensive. We did luck out and parked nearby on the streets for free and safe.

Hi I really enjoyed my stay at hotel del Sol. I have to say that the breakfast was simply incredible. It was crammed in the reception area but the range of items was unforgettable. You could also take things with you if needed. Very close and handy location to the city attractions. The best destination to accompany your stay is del Sol. Don't miss the best. Don't miss del Sol.

The hotel is currently undergoing earthquake retrofitting so the elevator is out of commission other than that the place was clean the staff professional and courteous. To describe it best I would say it reminded me of the eighties television show Miami vice minus Tubbs & Crockett.

Hotel Del Sol has been a great spot for our family for years now. The staff is friendly and down to earth, we can bring our dog, and the kids love the Family Suite with their own space to play. One day we'll have to come in the summer and swim in the pool and lounge in the hammocks under the palms.

Nice clean hotel. Staff were very good and helpful, we got a lot of good local recommendations from them. And amazing fresh cookies in the afternoon. Great value for money.

Great place for what it is! Fun decor and a pool on the central courtyard, clean rooms, and, best of all, super close to Lombard and the Golden Gate Bridge, which was great for my commute up the 101 in the morning.

Amazing staff very very friendly, feels like a cheap motel… defiantly not hotel feel. Has a nice yard in the middle. They offer parking for $30+ tax room had a smell, elevator is old and crappy with a smell… but if you can handle the smell, then this might be a good option because the staff at the front desk are extremely friendly and helpful.

We had an amazing few days in hotel del sol, not too big or too small. Pool was super fun to come home to after a day trekking around San Fran! Loved it!

Fun little hotel quite well placed for Fisherman's wharf. The best beds we experienced on our 2 week multi hotel vacation. Quite expensive and pool tends to get over run with noisy children. Great staff.

Very cool motel layout in a great part of SF. Wonderful fun when they have the art show and convert all the rooms to galleries.

Not a good sign when they tell you to take everything out of your car when parking in their lot because it might get broken into. The bathroom door hits the toilet if you try to open it all the way. The rooms are lacking power plugs to charge stuff and wires are run around door frames instead of in walls (pretty sure that is illegal). The single elevator has its safety certificate displayed but is 3 years expired and I don't know if it would pass inspection now. Not the best for sure but not the worst I have stayed in. The location is great and makes life easier if you don't want to use a car (that costs $30 a night to park in those​ protected stalls). Don't forget about the $50 a night extra charge for staying in San Francisco (I am guessing that this applies to all hotels) so add in at least $80 a night if you have a car.

My family loved this hotel. It's so charming! Like I was in the 70's with the great art, lite up palm trees, heated swimming pool. We loved the complimentary breakfast and how close it was to do many restaurants and parks. We will definitely be going back. Rhe staff was also so nice.

A ten minute walk from Fort Mason, where we attended the San Francisco Vintners Market. Nice to have a comfortable room and bed to relax in after being on our feet for 4-5 hours! Fun area for food and drinks. Beautiful Water Front. And such a GOOD price!

Excellen service! Beyond expectations. We booked this hotel oiy of the blue and were blown with great service. We stayed here for our 5th anniversary celebration. Oscar was great and went out of his way to buy us a bottle of champagne for our anniversary. We weren't expecting it and it was a great little gift. We are definitely coming back!

This is such a cute hotel — it's not the most luxurious place but for the money, the rooms were clean and comfortable. What makes this a 5* for us is that thanks to the orientation we were given we found two areas to discover and eat at, which really enhanced our stay in San Francisco.

Cute and quirky hotel, nice and helpful staff. Rooms are clean and basic. More of a motel feel in the layout and amenities. The lights coming through the blinds at night made it hard to sleep. Can be noisy.

5 stars because of value. One recommendation though, before booking from any site give them a call and mention the price you see online, they will be happy to match or beat it and give you a room upgrade if possible. We didn't and overpaid by booking from hotel tonight. About service, the night manager that checked us in was amazing, the guy in the morning made us feel invisible. Maids were helpful and polite. Room OK, decent mattress, decent bathroom. Quiet.

Cool venue with a great courtyard and pool, great walking location to the Marina district.

Quaint. Got a nice unique vibe. Used to be apartments I think. Rooms are clean and comfy. Not top shelf, but a solid place to stay.

Rooms are a little compact but it is good. Kind staff. They have shampoo and soap in dispensers! Afternoon cookies and milk along with bagels and other morning pastries. Shower is very small but it's doable. My room didn't have a refrigerator but I believe other rooms do. Rooms here just like everywhere else in sf will get very pricey. Parking was $25 daily. The entrance her is very small and easy to miss. In the end this is a nice place.

Real pleasant hotel stay; affordable, clean, and friendly. I was upgraded to a larger room for free (off-season). As others have noted, it's more of a nicer motel than a "hotel", but for the convenience and price it can't be beat. Pool, outdoor amenities (hammocks), and continental breakfast are pluses.

The hotel has a very cozy ambiance. The staff is very nice and helpful. It's located near the north side of San Francisco so walking down to the beach for a view of the golden gate is not far. Dog friendly. The rooms are clean and fairly spacious for the price with a nice closet and TV. The ones we stayed at did not have microwave or a fridge, which was not a big deal.

Hotel del Sol was very clean and accommodating. The rooms are a great size and the atmosphere is fun. Close yo great shops and restaurants. I will be staying here again!

We just completed our fourth stay at Hotel Del Sol and can't imagine staying anywhere else when we visit San Francisco. Love the location within walking distance of Chestnut Street (Peet's coffee is MUST) and Union Street. And access to the Marina and views to the Golden Gate are a plus. The staff is always friendly, accommodating, and the rooms are just right. But what I love most is the fun styling that touches everything about the hotel, from the art on the walls to the hand painted murals, the colored lights on the palm trees (just tacky enough to be cool) and even the mosaic room numbers on the door. And the free pastries and coffee in the morning are a special treat. Do I sound like I like the place?
