Rooms are dated and tired looking. Blue bathtubs… need I say more. Nice views though of the mountains.

Awesome place, clean, amazing views and great staff would definitely recommend this place and will definitely return in the future.

The shower curtain in our room had mildew and pink algae on it, the grout in the shower was filthy and the small table fan was caked in dust and looked like it had never been cleaned. We also noticed small blood stains on the duvet which was only covered by two flat sheets which wouldn't stay in place. Would not come here again.

Excellent choice to visit Lake Louise and other tourist attractions. The staff is very nice, as I have rarely seen. Really, I loved it. The room is spacious and large. Good choice!

Can't say enough great and positive things great things about this place. We are a family of six who feel spoiled from the staffs help, and eagerness to make our stay the best ever. Tobogganing, bookingthe whirlpool. Recommending restaurants… so happy! Upgrade to a family room was awesome too!

We received by far the best service ever during our stay at Mountaineer Lodge. The staff were incredibly accommodating, friendly, and customer service oriented. Thank you! We will be back soon!

It was nice. But we spent 500 on a room and they didn't tell us that the satellite was down so we had to sit in the room with no TV with 4 kids. It really isn't that bug of a deal but they should've told us on the phone that the satellite was down.

Awesome staff! went above and beyond to welcome us! Also affordable and rooms meet all needs, quaint breakfast options and super covid conscious.

Stay was great and location was so convenient. Less than a 10 minute drive up to Lake Louise. No bells and whistles on this place but if you're going for the hiking, definitely not your top priority anyways. Bed was comfortable and bathroom was clean. Wifi access was available and the BREAKFAST was my favorite thing about this spot. These people know that hikers need a nice big breakfast. They had all the options for all ages buffet style — eggs, sausage, french toast, yogurt, fresh fruit, muffins/bagels, etc… coffee and tea for adults and cereal for all the kids. Staff was super friendly and there was plenty of space for everyone. Would stay there again for sure!

Rooms clean and updated. Beds new and comfortable. Parking was tight. People with mobility issues should request a ground room. Breakfast was good but not accessible for people with disabilities. No elevators.

We stayed at Mountaineer Lodge for a night as a convenient place for access to Lake Louise hiking. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable — those were the main requirements for us. There was a decent breakfast included… Nothing crazy but it did the trick. It was about a 10 minute drive up to Lake Louise. Depending on the rate this hotel would be a good value.

Good and spacious rooms. Ours even had AC! They said they were redoing all of the rooms one by one. Breakfast room was surprisingly spacious and had a lot of choices. Nice and close to the lakes and right off the highway. Vending machines were short stocked but other than that overall nice place and stay.

This was one of the worst rooms I've ever had. It smelled really bad and we asked for a different room and found the one they then showed us was even worse. Spraying freshener in the air does not take the smell out of the carpet and furniture etc. It is long overdue for proper updates and renovations and walls, ceilings, flooring and fixtures to be in bad condition. Beds were not good either. They have been able to garner a very high price due to the town it is in, we have stayed in far better rooms for a third of that price. If you are going to charge those prices, spend some money on improving the rooms instead of taking advantage of people wanting to stay in the area. Better to stay further away in nicer hotel for less money and drive in.

Very nice quaint hotel. The rooms were clean and comfortable. There isn't much aound Lake Louise but I'd visit again.

I went here during the winter. The location is perfect if you are visiting Lake Louise. The rooms are beyond expectations (not luxurious but what we got for the price of the room is wow). Free breakfast and Wi-Fi. The room we got was relatively cheap. We got 2 TVs. One in the "living room" and the other in the bedroom. It seems like a little home. I definitely recommend and if we ever come back, I'll try again to come here. (Could use some intructions on how to operate the fireplace)

Exactly what we were after, beds were comfortable, room was clean. We were only here to already. If you come to Lake Louise for the rooms you should stay at the Fairmont. We came to hike and enjoy the outdoors.

This is a nice clean hotel with free breakfast. Rooms are spacious and staff was very nice and helpful. There also is a steam room and jacuzzi you can use. Great place to stay in Lake Louise.

We loved this place so much and plan to go back annually. Friendly staff. Kids loved the kids club and pool. Great food except the Italian restaurant. Loved all the drinks, activities, and beaches.

Beautiful environment, quiet, free breakfast style is simple and rich, small and beautiful, spa pool can relieve the fatigue of passengers, next time will want to stay again.

Comfortable and clean room but looking a bit dated, rooms could do with a make over, fine for us as we only slept in the room. The only negative was the breakfast whilst some might deem it ok, the offerings could be better. Especially the Hot food, we stayed for 7 nights and the food was the same each day, Burger! Egg Bread and a small Omelette, how about adding some tomatoes, mushrooms, scrambled eggs. Overall Good Value for money.

Amazing place to stay. Chloe was great and very knowledgeable… she made me want to return next year to make it an annual trip :)

We had a very good stay. Room was clean and bigger than I was expecting. Good breakfast too. Nothing over the top but very good. Hot tub is awesome. And we'll maintained. They need to do some work on the water pipes. Our room had a lot of water hammering noise. My only complaint.

Not the newest hotel out there, but super friendly staff and the rooms are always clean! The continental breakfast is really nice too! Not the conventional just toast and cereal, they also have french toast, hash browns, eggs and sausage. An affordable place to stay and saves you money on not having to pay for breakfast!

Nice updated rooms that have USB plugs by the bed to charge your devices. Very clean, modern, and friendly staff. Don't let the outside fool you. Wi-Fi included, and there's a hot tub.

Nice accommodation for one to two nights. Significant differences between the rooms in the new and old buildings. Room in the old part slightly worn but quite cozy.

Great place to stay close to everything you need. Staff are great and the breakfast was the best for the trip. Well done would stay again highly recommend.

The hotel is old but clean. Provides free breakfast to all guests. There is no elevator available, so be prepared to carry the luggage if you are assigned a room in second floor. Parking is free and accessible.

Fancy no but everything you need is there. Shower could be better the fan makes a lot of noise. The bed was good en the room was clean. Across the street you can find the mountain restaurant with very nice food.

Overall, pretty nice lodge. Location was nice and only a few minutes from Lake Louise. Breakfast was really great. Rooms were a bit crowded, and pricing was a little high, but it was a nice experience.

You're just off the highway but can't hear it, you can walk into the village centre and a few light dining options, and a couple of more substantial ones. The whirlpool is spacious and nice, the room is cool in summer and the blackout blinds work well. One thing this hotel can't do anything about is the 24hr operating train line nearby. Also, unfortunately, they just straight up charged too much for what they offered.

Nothing fancy, but did the trick. Bed was super comfy and the free breakfast was great. Shower was horrible, and the bathroom fan was super loud (so much so you couldn't watch TV if someone was in the bathroom) and you could hear everything in the hallway. We were in room 106, so maybe if you have a room in the other building you may fair better. Was decent overall, but could have been better for the price.

The Mountainer was a great place to stay! Clean rooms, friendly staff, great complimentary breakfast and even a shuttle that takes you to the ski hill!

Old fashioned motel style accommodation but was centrally located in the village, staff were friendly & the room was fine for a short stay.

Comfortable, clean rooms and accommodations. Best part was the showers had great water pressure and unlimited hot water.

Friendly staff. Free buffet breakfast. Affordable. But not Air Conditioned. Also no pressure balancers on showers so shower water temperature tends to vary.

I've loved it. Rooms are neat and tidy, Wi-Fi works great, (Huge bonus as some Wi-Fi in hotels are garbage. ), breakfast was tasty.

A bit pricey, but reasonable for what it is. Decent hot tub.

Room was comfortable, beds were great. I liked that there was a fridge and microwave in the standard room for us to use. Continental breakfast was perfect with waffles, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, cereal, bagels, toast and fruit. Free Wi-Fi and all day coffee. Thanks for a nice stay:)

The rooms are decent. The exterior of the building is really nice. The service is friendly. The hot tub is nice would be better if it was outside or with a pool though to cool off. Overall good experience. Breakfast is alright.

The room was barely adequate. It was unclean, noisy, and the furniture and drapes were dirty and worn-out. It was not worth the price paid.

Having no other place to stay, my friend and I got a room here. The room was clean but not anything worth the price we paid. There was no cooling system in the room and the room was uncomfortably hot during the night. When we wanted to make a cup of tea or coffee we found that coffee whitener was all that was supplied in place of milk. (An unhealthy option and not at all what one wants to have in a cup of tea) With a fridge in the room it would not be unreasonable to have the little cream and milk containers that are found in restaurants. The bathroom grouting was peeling and falling out. The place is looking tired and in need of some TLC. Power points were so loose that the plugs fell out. The breakfast was what I would expect at a hostel, not at a hotel, although it seems that the general standard in many hotels has dropped considerably. I am giving this review because the price we paid was not up to the standard of the facilities. I am sorry to say that I believe the price of this facility is mainly because of location. If there had been vacancies further down the road we would have bypassed this one.

A very pleasent place to spend a few nights. Rooms are spotlessly clean and comfortable. Could use a few more TV channels for those rainy days, but this is a minor thing. Even though the hotel itself has no restaraunt, there is a full selection within a five minute walk — everything from inexpensive family food to fine dining. The lake itself (and the far more expensive Chateau Lake Louise) is a five minute drive up the hill.

As others have written, this is a very delightful and relaxing hotel. We found the staff to be very helpful and our room was very clean, spacious and affordable. We had debated whether to "upgrade" to a more expensive hotel, but I am very glad that we did not because I suspect that this was a much better quality then much more expensive facilities. We would definately stay here if we return.

My family has been coming to stay at the Mountaineer for over a decade now. For weeks at a time we enjoy Lake Louise and the surrounding mountains with this hotel as our base camp. Relative to other hotels here, and there aren't many, it's a bargain. No phone, or free wireless? Not a problem — some people obviously need a reminder that you don't come here for those things. You're in the middle of paradise. The rooms are just what we need, the staff are helpful and friendly.

I get the same room with a superb view of Mount Temple every time I come. The staff welcome me back and make me feel at home. They always endeavor to provide anything we might want. I have a very high maintenance wife, and she is happy here. Sure we would like a few more amenities, but everything is available nearby, and the economy of The Mountaineer Lodge makes it possible for us to have our family reunion every year through lean times or other.
