Reviews of Fairmont Château Lake Louise 4*
Great service and food with a view 😎
Rude, unhelpful and very judgemental staff in all restaurants and bars. Slow service, poor cleanliness and very disappointing in all areas. Tired looking decor inside and looks like a prison block from the outside!
Great guests service, wonderful food and friendly staff.
The Fairmont Gold room with the lake view is the only way to go! The top floors were fully renovated, and the service was excellent. We even got a welcome drink, and priority of the hotel resturants. The atmosphere is very tranquil here. We avoided the overy busy town of Banff all together.
Beautiful and romantic hotel. Best birthday escape.
This is by far the most majestic view I have ever visited in all of my travels! The restaurant and its natural ambiance is breathtakingly beautiful. I never want to leave this enchanting shangrila!
What a perfect place to spend our wedding anniversary! Gorgeous hotel with amazing scenery and definitely worth getting a lake view to watch the sunrise. The restaurants/bar are great too as hotel guests only allowed to use them so not over crowded, added to the relaxing ambience and setting. It was 100% worth the money! And I can’t believe you had my favourite wine on the menu in the Fairview. Greywacke from NZ. Just perfect.
Stunning views and property. Exceptional service from all staff. Wonderful hotel. Nothing bad to say.
We picked a bad weekend to visit, Labor day! Although we had the most beautiful room and the staff were without a doubt superb. The service for Fairmont Gold guests on the 7th floor was exceptional, however the restaurant we had booked in for dinner "The Fairview" was over booked and there were queues outside it with no where to sit and relax while you waited. We stood for over half an hour past our booking time and then we gave up! very disappointed as this was to celebrate my 60th birthday. Also we were under the impression there was a dress code for dinner, this is not the case and people were dressed in ordinary day wear jeans and tee shirts. Not the standard we would have expected A great shame.
Incredible place, 5star service, food was great, meals with a view. Absolutely loved it, worth the spend 👏🏽
Wonderful trip with my Mom! The hotel, amenities and views were simply amazing!
So beautiful. Lots of activities and beautiful rooms with comfy bedding. Great food. And again sooooo beautiful 🤩 Picture from bedroom view.
This hotel is amazing! All the staff are friendly and helpful! They are very knowledgeable about the hotel and the surrounding areas! The amenities at this hotel are fabulous! They have several activities that are just for hotel guests! You also can not beat the views! For me, there isn’t anywhere else to stay in the area!
Lovely hotel in a beautiful setting with attentive friendly staff.
Very pretty view from our room overlooking the frozen Lake Louise. Dinning room at Fairview was great food & service.
Spent my 50th birthday at the FCLL. It was the absolute best hotel experience I’ve ever had. My husband had champagne, cake and balloons in the room for our arrival, the staff did a beautiful job setting it all up. The views were stunning, the hotel and grounds were beautiful, but the staff is what made our experience absolutely amazing! Kind, friendly, helpful, and interested in where we were from. Wasi at the Lakeview bar set the standard of service from the very beginning. And then we left. We checked into our hotel in Banff when my husband realized that he left his passport and all of my birthday gifts in the safe, in our room. He called and the operator immediately got in touch with security. 1 hour later we got the call that our belongings were safe. He then told us that they were having our belongings driven down to us…an hour away, in Banff. Upon his arrival (the director of housekeeping, I believe) my husband tried to give him a tip and it was refused, he simply said that it was his job. I wish I knew the names of all of your staff that we encountered, because they were ALL simply the best. Can’t wait to see you all again! ♥️
There for a work retreat. Lovely hotel and amenities!
Beautiful hotel with excellent service. The views of the lake are amazing. I definitely recommend this hotel.
What a beautiful location for a hotel. Nice views throughout the hotel. The afternoon tea, and frozen bar is a must.
Stopped by to have lunch and was truly amazed. We had the tomato soup and calamari WOW 😮 Absolutely the best calamari ever! The service was also very friendly and with excellent service. Great customer experience for us today. From the Montreal boys 😀 Cheers.
Friendly staff. Great food.
Unhelpful checkinn staff, the hotel has great history but unfortunately they hire people that doesn't appreciate customers nor the beautiful history of this place. Lake Louise is fantastic, unfortunately it will always be remembered with the bad experience of this hotel. I stayed for 3 nights.
Beautiful breathtaking view
Excellent service
Friendly staff.
Spectacular view, friendly restaurant staff and beautiful hotel!
We had the best waiter at the Fairmont Lake Louise restaurant, Nicholas. He recommended the best drinks and lunch menu options, which were absolutely delicious! I highly recommend dining here if you get the chance.
Not worth the money. Hotel is very old needs updating. The front desk staff is not very friendly.
Great views, great service.
Best hospitality staff were very professional and kind left us a welcoming surprise in the room once we arrived and a welcome treat from the lake view restaurant manager had my best birthday experience 🥰🥰🥰
Great experience ever. Also, loved the food on our lunch and breakfast.
This is an amazing place! Without a doubt, my family’s most favourite hotel we stayed in. Every staff member with whom we came in contact was extremely pleasant, helpful and professional. Our room was wonderful with breathtaking views. The Fairview Restaurant was outstanding — stunning scenery, hospitable and delightful host, super delicious dishes and beautiful presentation. We had a fantastic experience at this property. A true example of excellent hospitality.
Had fun and went on a sleigh ride which was so fun!
Awesome, pay the price!
Beautiful place with historical stories, excellent customer service.
Incredible. Lakeview lounge has amazing food. The views are worth the price. Dig it!
What to say — it provides exactly what you should expect from a luxury resort. The attention to detail and service is fantastic and perfectly compliments the unspoiled natural beauty just outside the doors.
What a fantastic hotel! The location is simply the best you can get. We got a lake facing room and the views of lake Louise were spectacular. The food was a big let down. The services at the hotel were outstanding. Polite courteous and knowledgeable staff at the front desk and concierge. Helped plan our sightseeing with brochures and maps. I will definitely go there every time I am in lake Louise.
Our stay at this hotel has been nothing but amazing. Highly recommend it.
Very good Covid protocol in practice. Food is great, scenery is breath taking and best of all Staff is super helpful and hospitable.
Great place to revisit. Staff are friendly. Outdoor garden is awesome and the Lake view is a sight to behold.
The staff was exceptional! Clean big rooms and amazing views. The food at the resturants were absolutely delicious.
The view is amazing. Amenities are great. Overall, this resort is well worth a visit.
The beauty, the class, the atmosphere, the activities, the food… everything is just so perfect!
Excellent 5 star service I love everything a dream come true I miss the breakfast and my personal omelette shef and rides around the lake with horses my happy time in the barn dance and steak meals with live music the amazzing songs. The rooms in the hotel are perfect we loved the big window view with bar and tea and cakes a big thankyou for our dream holiday love peace health see photos on our facebook.
The grounds are fantastic, with so many activities. The hotel is immaculate and iconic. The rooms are fantastic. As always, however, it is the people that truly separate the great hotels — of which there are many — from the truly exceptional. The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise has some of the most genuinely helpful, friendly, and caring people working here. They provide the warmth and human touch that make this place truly world class.
So wonderful, my daughter had broken her wrist snowboarding, they gave us great service and a wonderful room upgrade so that my daughter had enough space to heal xx.
Excelente concierge service. Delicious and delicately prepared dishes with great view to the lake. Fantastic drinks. Great atmosphere.
Incredible location, beautiful rooms, service is spectacular… we are very lucky.
Great food great staff. Will definitely be returning.
Beautiful views, very friendly staff, and a large selection of food and fun.
Incredible service and a view unparalleled.
The Chateau has been our favourite anniversary destination for many years. Magical, magnificent, romantic. Professional and accommodating staff. Excellent food in all of the restaurants. Great shopping. Our stays are always perfect and memorable. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Always an amazing experience. The Afternoon Tea is scrumptious — and enough food to satisfy 16 year old twins. Such a relaxing experience with a drop-dead gorgeous view and delightfully attentive service. Such a lovely way to spend the afternoon.
Best ambiance for your money, delicious finger food, friendly staff…
The service with attention to detail was wonderful! The food in the restaurants was ok, although there were several disappointments (and room service food was very disappointing). I would be nice to have more options for "regular food" — the Deli is very limited there. Sometimes one just wants a simple pizza or burger. But the hotel's location and views are beyond stunning. Already planning a winter trip as the Christmas/New Years celebrations sound magical.
Incredible place! Absolutely beautiful, we didn’t want to leave. We stayed on the 7th floor and the staff couldn’t be more helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Our room had a fantastic view of the lake! The breakfast options were fabulous. The walking trails were great, loved rowing on the lake, so much to see and do. Its a little piece of heaven.
One of the best hotel experience we have ever had, not to mention the mesmerizing turquoise blue lake view from our suite on gold floor. Literally everything was perfect. That being said, my wife and I made a pact that we would come back here again in regular basis. Thank you all again!
Beautiful hotel with amazing views, excellent restaurants and a comfortable stay.
Great location, good service, excellent food and spectacular veiws.
We had a lovely waitress in a lounge that overlooked the lake.
Having non-alcoholic cocktails available was great, there are often so few options available. Well done.
Fabulous site just like a Fairy Castle. Excellent large rooms with everything at hand. The food was so good! The location was stunning — we had travelled half way around the wold to see this beautiful World Heritage lake and wonder of wonders — it was frozen over! Staff were friendly loved that u employ a bit of a League of Nations. Certainly a Bucket lList destination. Will recommend The Chateau Lake Louise to all!
One of the most beautiful places in the world! The lodge is amazing and the staff here are so kind and helpful.
Beautiful scenery as well as excellent staff and service, great food and services! Always enjoy the stay in such a Majestic setting!
Could not compliment the hotel or staff enough. Very impressive.
Asher who looked after us at dinner in at Walliser Stube was excellent in his position, so lovely, helpful and made us feel like we were special. Thank you Asher and the rest of staff.
Look forward to returning some day.
Lee.
We had a wonderful experience at Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise specifically at Poppy Brasseire because of excellent staff. We had the great pleasure of having Julia Badiola assist us when we had dinner one weeknight in July then brunch the following Saturday. She went above and beyond her call of duty to make sure we had a great dining experience. Carol, the manager was nice and friendly as well. Salute to the friendly, hard working, amazing staff. Free parking when you have brunch there is a plus as well. Of course, the views are spectacular.
Lake Louise is a really beautiful lake and the most well kept area for an easy hike. The views are really nice. However, parking is a huge issue and if you do not arrive early or late in the day than you are out of luck for parking purposes. There are shuttles that run from most popular sites and it will definitely be worthwhile to look into taking shuttles to this place. It does get chilly here even in summer sometimes so do keep a sweater just in case if you are hiking to Lake Agnes or spending some time here.
I didn't stay at the hotel, but visited the lake. The five stars is for the lake. It's an easy less than 5 minute walk to the lake though, so at least the hotel's location is good. The view of the lake and mountains was so beautiful, so the hotel is probably worth it if you can get that view from your room. Also, the hotel building looks very grand from the outside and the lobby area of the hotel looks elegant, like you are walking into a castle.
If you come to Banff and could only do one thing — this is it! Don't let the long line at the canoe hut deter you, it moves fast and it's worth it. What a beautiful picture perfect place. The lake, the hotel, the trails… The food in the restaurant is amazing and it's absolutely fabulous all around. Parking in the hotel is comped if you dine there so take advantage of this amazing place and go for the day.
Beautiful hotel, and service was excellent. The bell boys were very helpful with our luggage and our rooms were very luxurious. However their age shows and the rooms are a bit worn out. The beds felt lush and were very comfortable. Of course the views of Lake Louise were unbelievable. Beware of the crowds we were there during prime season and there were A LOT of people.
We stayed here for the view and paid extra to face the lake. Our room was small but the bed was comfy. A lot of great food available at the restaurants which is, as expected, not cheap. The gym was great. The salesperson at the bookstore was very knowledgeable in local history and suggested good books accordingly. There are also a few trails starting at the resort.
Just a magical.
Great view, but a lot of people.
We had a beer and an artisan plate while we admired the absolutely gorgeous view! The waitress we had was excellent and very helpful. We were entertained by a cute little chipmunk who dropped by a few times while we were there! Doesn’t get much better!
Hotel is spectacular, the backyard is Lake Louis, watching the sunrise is more convenient, do not have to work hard early. Did not go in to live, any price every night to $800-1000 the coin, low season also want three hundred or four hundred yuan. The lobby on the first floor is stylish, and there are many shops selling luxury goods, rooms are small, toilets are small, windows are small, if it is for fame or lazy people and rich hope to see Lake Louis convenient, then live here, even if later I am a billionaire, I will not live here, comfort is the level of ordinary hotel!
Well-trained staff—hospitality and food/drink staff. Very comfortable room. Consistently wonderful satisfaction. Absolutely beautiful location and views. Wish I could live this lifestyle all the time!
The hotel is OK. The rooms are beautiful. There's too much tourist.
A place of exquisite charm. The words are so lacking the site is breathtaking!
The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise is a stunning property, situated on the shore of Lake Louise. The hotel's backdrop is the glaciated mountains which form part of the Columbia Icefields. The hotel is very well appointed, as you would expect from a Fairmont property. However, if you are looking for a quiet stay, this may not be your ideal location. Given the main draw of Lake Louise is the lake, upon which the property is situated, it draws many tourists, and not just into the lake, but also the hotel too. Reservations can sometimes be a challenge, given the large tourist parties which check in on a regular basis. The rooms themselves are comfortable, and for a premium, a lake facing room sets a wonderful backdrop from which to wake in the mornings. Having stayed here a number of times, from a basic room to a suite, each offers its own personality, with few rooms feeling cloned (even though many are). The restaurant serves wonderful meals and breakfast too is a delight and experience to enjoy. The staff make all of the guests feel welcome.
Little late posting the review, but this is truly a wonderful place. We spent a week last March and still cannot get over the experience. Staff, service and food were all great. For a couple of Texans who see maybe a few inches of snow a year this was a trip. Gotta love the "Texas Gate". We will return.

What an incredible place. Such beauty of the mountains and the hotel it elegant. Wonderful. The hotel staff a super helpful and the concierge are supremely helpful! They booked us on the complimentary lookout walk — such a great walk in the snow. Our guide, Ross was knowledgeable and helpful. Hey all… if you are a guest and want to go out walking on the trails but need ice cleats — they are available free of charge from the guide cabin or through the concierge.
The food is not wonderful, but it is compensated with the exceptional scenery, in any case I put to the food 3 stars.
Historical and Beautiful place. Jumped into the lobby bar for a few drinks and some food. The ginger old fashioned was excellent. The bison burger and tomato soup were great and even just sitting having a coffee at the end of my meal was an amazing experience!
Very nice hotel, extremely comfortable beds, very good staff attention, highly recommended.
Historical and beautiful resort. Situated directly off the lake! Good service, nice shampoo and soaping products. In winter the rooms were warm, quiet and offer beautiful views of the mountains and snow. Housekeeping staff was very caring and reminded us about the dryness of lake Louise and offered us humidifier. Restaurants in the resort were of great qualities — we dined in Poppy, Alpine Social and the seafood restaurant next to Alpine room, all tasty and pleasant! Ski shuttles to the slopes were punctual and the drivers and concierge were super nice and helpful. Bed was super soft, which might be preferred by many people but didn’t work for my poor back and poor neck : (
Nice experience, very interesting to visit, but the room is expensive for what it is, we pay for the view and the history. ;)
Nice hotel to match the scenic destination. Still has the charm of the old villa, with classic wood furnishings. Staff is nice, location is perfect and well utilized. Not bad for price (i hot a deal). Can use better upkeep in a few places. Old places need a lot of care.
This is a very nice place. I'm glad that my work was flipping the bill as there is no way I would be able to afford to stay here. The employees were very nice, even when I noticed people yelling at them. They were nice back to the mean man and continued to perform their job as they were expected to. The food in the restaurants was very tasty and the views are fantastic.
The view was stunning and you could walk very nicely there.
Excellent location, views, staff and hotel! The food is excellent!
This place is 5 star all the way. The hotel was incredible, the food beyond excellent but most importantly the staff incredibly well trained and helpful. We were there for 5 days and each day was better than the last. The views are also incredible. I can't wait to go back and possibly even in the summer when it is not — 20 degrees.
I think the amazing thing about this place is the unparalleled location, you come out and you have that beautiful scenery.
It's a fabulous hotel. English-style. Impeccable and exquisite taste. Framed in a landscape as few. Forest. Snow. Mountains. And the majestic Lake Louise. The Queen Elizabeth of England and renowned artists stayed there. He just pointed to Marilyn Monroe. A must for travelers visiting Canada.
Great views around the hotel (even in winter). Plenty of things to see and do right on the resort (even shopping). I love the history and architecture of the hotel. Good food and drink on the resort. Extremely pet and kid friendly. They offer in-room pet and babysitting services as well.
Very beautiful hotel with Lake Louise as their backyard. I went during the winter so the lake was frozen over and we rented ice skates in the hotel. There were also pretty ice sculptures including the ice castle. There are also pretty hiking trails and a running creek that are all picturesque. They have free shuttles to the Lake Louise ski resort about every half and hour. It's a lovely place to visit, however very pricey if you want to stay here and it's quite far from everything like downtown.
Exceptional place like all those in the Fairmont chain. But immense as all that is in North America. There are very luxurious and refined rooms. There is a good restoration. Prices are as a result of but if only to see Lake Louise it's worth stopping by.
Just checked out after 5 nights at this fantastic hotel. It is a beautiful property in a gorgeous location. The food is good. The staff are unfailingly polite and helpful. We enjoyed the skating, ice sculptures, snow shoeing, hiking and sleigh ride. No one could ask more from a winter vacation.
It's just a spectacular place!
Very disappointed in this place. Firstly, our room was not ready when we arrived at 4.30pm even though they said it would be ready by 3.00pm. Second, the customer service in the breakfast bar was atrocious, and we were forced to give a minimum of 15% tip. Third, the room we were moved to was tiny, we had a king bed, but the bathroom was so small we couldn't even have 2 people stand in it. Furthermore the cost of this hotel is ridiculous, even at the discounted rate we ended up paying over $1000 for a room that we barely stayed in for 3 nights. Finally, 3 days after staying and several phone calls, they still have a hold on my credit card, which absolutely sucks as we traveled north to Jasper for a few days, but can't afford much due to having a $1200 hold on my credit card. I'm definitely not impressed with their service and definitely will not be staying there again.
This is the best hotel to stay at. Rooms are great and the scenery is amazing. I've been here to work as a musician and also stayed as a guest. The service is top notch and professional. You will not be disappointed on your visit!
The historic hotel occupies the best location of the Louise, the hotel has a lake-view afternoon tea, high quality steak, gym, spa, all kinds of snow items, as long as the willing to pay, enough to enjoy life.
My husband and I got married at the Chateau this past august, and for anyone looking for the perfect venue for their own wedding, it is an absolute dream location. We could not thank the staff at the Chateau enough for their attentiveness, their kindness, and amazing service. As a bride before her wedding, it would normally be a very stressful time, but the staff at the hotel did everything they could to be helpful. They printed off my thank you speech for me the night before the wedding and had it delivered to my door within 15 minutes, even though it was 2am when I had finished writing it. They went out of their way to find me a clothing rack to hang my bridesmaids' dresses for photos. They even quickly fixed two blown fuses the morning of the wedding (caused by the 12 girls getting ready all in one room! ). After the wedding, many of our guests had also commented on how friendly everyone was at the hotel — we had no complaints. But the best part of having a wedding at the Chateau is Brittany Skov, the Wedding & Catering Manager. We ultimately chose the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise over other hotels we were leaning more towards because of our initial meeting with Brittany. She was so friendly and welcoming and we knew working with her during the year leading up to the wedding would be easy. She exceeded every expectation and was beyond helpful every step of the way. She was always quick to respond to every request or question that we had and was very organized.
Went for a walk along the lake and then drinks at the restaurant at Fairmont. They have a couple of places, both with gorgeous views! Great appetizers and drinks for a perfect late afternoon snack. Friendly staff and a couple of fancy shopping places — — you'll spend plenty of time at the Fairmont. Can't wait when the ice rink opens!
Good dinner, only problem in the toilet no table was long for changed baby. For a hotel of this class these really damage.
Amazing place with a view of the lake. You might think you're in a movie:)
I love Chateau Lake Louise. This is my second visit and it's still so magical. The staff at the hotel is very friendly and professional, it is always available to meet our needs. I will certainly come back in the future.
Luxury hotel with small details that add up to an amazing experience. Eat those amazing croissants! Every staff member was beyond helpful and courteous. Even though the fitness centre is small and lacks equipment, the eucalyptus towels, cucumber and mint water, granola bars, and apples gave me an incentive to actually want to use the facility. I can't really complain about anything when I'm surrounded by beautiful mountains.
Amazing views and friendly people.
! It is a perfect place to celebrate our 20 years of marriage! In 1965 they filmed here the film "DOCTOR ZHIVAGO"
Had a great lunch here with the travel group. They served so well. Really enjoyed the time. The cheese cake was very nice, not over sweet, which made me like it. And the toppings on the cake were nuts and almonds, tasting delicious.
OK… this place is drop-dead gorgeous… and my wife and I have travelled a 'bit'… spending our kids' inheritance. If you stay here: before opening the curtains when you go to your room… stand back and draw the curtains together. If that doesn't knock your socks off…
This place is like a fairy tale castle. Lake Louise has to be seen to be believed. It truly is the color you see in the photos. One of nature's great wonders. And the chateau is the place to enjoy it from. Special service, wonderful food.
My wife and my most favourite place in the world! Lake Louise and we always stay at this hotel. Service is always perfect. The location unbeatable. We have stayed in Summer and winter — both are wonderful experiences and we keep going back. This place is magical, better (I think) than the more famous Banff Springs Hotel.
The place is great, especially for Lake Louise, but the building is also very beautiful.
We visited here for the long weekend to enjoy the scenery. The Lake and Hotel are beautiful. There were lots of tourists but Parks Canada had things very well organized to handle all of the vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Staff at the hotel are very kind and helpful and the hotel was clean and well kept!
The location is amazing. There's few other places as beautiful as lake Louise and to stay on the lake front is truly exceptional. The Fairmont experience is definitely present in all the hotel. It's luxurious and good service. The food was fantastic but the table service of Alpine social restaurant was mediocre. I understand that they are busy but for the prices charged I expect a little more.
This place is great! I haven't actually stayed here but they have been awesome! So I proposed to my partner by the lake and to celebrate we went in for a drink. We were seated and our waitress took our order. We ordered a bottle of champagne as the situation demanded. They were out of the bottle we ordered and gave us a complimentary half bottle of another brand, This was such a nice gesture! Then we ordered a small snack while we drink this. So we come to get the bill and our great waitress tells us it's all complimentary! This made a special day even more special. We were not guests but they looked after us like we were. Next time I'm in Canada I will go out of my way to stay here. We can't thank them enough for adding to our special day.
Our visit to Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise was a wonderful experience. The hotel was large and spacious. There were spaces, such as the lobby, that had a gothic or medieval atmosphere which I enjoyed. The food served at the restaurant was very good. The most enjoyable part of the stay was Lake Louis itself. We were assisted by the friendly staff members Christie M. And Andrew M. They were friendly and thorough in their safety and rules. The lake was a magnificent site, and canoeing on the lake was truly a pleasure. However, I did find the canoe ride to be a little expensive, with the ride costing around $110 Canadian dollars an hour. Also, the one hour time limit was "limited" since the lake was so expansive and we weren't able to row fast enough to the other side. Overall, I really enjoyed the stay. With a few tweaks here and there, this destination is a tourists' dream come true.
A truly world-class hotel. The staff are exceptionally warm and well-informed. The Fairmont Gold accommodations are wonderful. Given the large number of people staying and visiting, the facilities do not seem overcrowded and so are very pleasant. When we save enough money to finance the trip, we will enthusiastically return.
All right, but the sandwiches not from the crust to the $13 tuna at the deli are not worth it.
The toilets were cleaner than the ones in the campground.
Very nice place in every sense of the word!
Beautiful View
Horsebackriding was very cool but had to stop there was a grizzly!
Great Service
The only thing is there is a lot of tourists bus, so lots of people.
Beautiful view,
Nice riding activity, but we had to cut short as there was a grizzly!
Good service but I found the menus not so amazing.
Great location. More the concept of high class rather than high class service. Enjoyable in any season. We went during winter and it was less busy.
Extremely disappointed by a recent stay here at the Lake Louise location. Basically the value proposition doesn't add up staying here and I've had better service experience staying at 2 or 3 star inns and lodges. Having driven 4 hours to get here, our room was not available at the advertised check in time of 4pm, and we didn't get the key until 5.40pm. No apology from the front reception person — she displayed no empathy nor did she offer any drinks vouchers by way of recompense. My Twitter comment on this to Fairmont also went unanswered. On another note, the reception area was a hellish scene from Dante's Inferno with people packed waiting to check in. Upon getting our room, it was unexpectedly dark and we had to call for additional lamps. Apparently, room had been renovated recently and they forgot to add lights, which I find incredulous. "Complimentary" items were missing from our fridge but I'm not a fan of cream or Belgian chocolates so I'll let that go. Dirty room laundry bags littered the corridor outside our room for most of the evening. If find this unacceptable. This place is living on it's name and history. The hype in our experience, doesn't match reality and I will not go to any Fairmont location if Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise is representative of the chain.
This is an incredible location. The only hotel on the lake. It was beautiful and clean. Rooms over looking the water were unbelievable. The service was wonderful. They were all very kind.
Fairmont at Lake Louise is most breathtaking scenic view on the planet. Enjoy coffee while seeing six glaciers plane. Love it!
We didn't stay here but visited. Lots of tourists here as it is right on the lake but the hotel is gorgeous of course. Top notch service and amenities from what we could tell. If you can afford to stay here with a view of the lake it would certainly be breathtaking but you'll pay through the nose for that privilege.
Service was a 5 star, however I was a bit dissapointed about their burger with porkbelly. The porkbelly stole all the flavor from the burger itself, so it tasted more like I was eating pork with the consistency of ground beef. The bun was a bit dry… I ended up just taking it off to eat the meat separately. The view was amazing and so was the beer!
This place is packed with tourists and guests alike. Everyone visiting Lake Louise usually ends up in here for a drink or a snack. They also have a great dine in restaurant with views of the lake and outdoor seating. I ate food at the faster deli inside as there was quite a wait to get tables at the dine in restaurant. The prices at the deli were quite fair and the staff, mostly Australian, were awesome. Very friendly and caring staff, even though I'm sure they have to deal with the crazy tourists year round. Keep up the good work and make sure to stop in and enjoy a chocolate croissant!
The view is out of the ordinary.
A wonderful place to stay a while or just visit for the day. With the endless hiking available, great restaurant outlets and friendly staff on hand, I could not recommend this location more. If it's on your bucket list, make sure it gets checked off.
Went for afternoon tea, with a reservation. The tea selection was varied, but it was luke warm by the time we got our desserts and sandwiches (~45m after sitting down). We had to ask for hot water (twice — the first time they just used the same luke warm water we were served initially). They also ran out of scones, so they were served until another half hour later (over an hour and 15 minutes after our prearranged tea time). The desserts were also not equally portioned — although most of the snacks were served in 5 portions (for our party of 5), one confection was missing 3 servings. We had difficulty getting staff attention as well. They compensated us with a 50% (! ) discount, but they didn't really step up their level of service throughout the meal.
The Chateau Lake Louise is an amazing hotel! It's located right on Lake Louise, with the Lakeview lounge offering a stunning view onto the lake and a great spot for a drink or bite to eat. There are 4 different restaurants (I believe) and the tiny village is only 10 mins drive away. The rooms are large and well appointed, if you can, request a Lake view room, waking up to the view is breathtaking. The staff are friendly, knowledgable and plentiful and the hotel is an icon of the area so even if you don't stay, come visit Lake Louise and the Fairmont Chateau, it will not disappoint! A truly memorable few days spent and will come back in Summer to experience the area in the warmth.
Words cannot describe how amazing the Chateau is. We came here for our honeymoon and from the moment we stepped in we were treated with the utmost care and attention. The grounds are stunning and very well maintained. The hotel itself is a gorgeous vintage building that exudes history. Every aspect of the location has placards that detail snippets of time and the important figures that have walked the halls. The staff are some of the friendliest and well trained we've ever come across. Anticipating every need we might have come up with, it's like they employ a fleet of psychics! The concierge at the Chateau are top notch and are able to schedule and coordinate anything you'd need. The awesomeness continues when they give you your printed itinerary which helps keep you organized. Thank you Fairmont Chateau staff. You made our honeymoon memories truly memorable.
$mall rooms, $mall bathrooms, Horrible Hou$ekeeping… notice a theme? Everything here is top dollar. I've stayed at multiple Fairmont properties (all with great reviews) and these guys just don't care. We had guests come to the hotel for less than 5 minutes only to be hit with an unadvertised $20 parking fee. We understand its paid parking but they only have a day pass option which is not listed anywhere. Hand out another $20 there! Would not recommend, stay at the Post Hotel if you want to be taken care of.
Surrounded by beautiful massive mountains and on the edge of a skateable frozen lake. The hire ice skates are a bit expensive but worth it as they are premium skates and comfortable. Definitely worth the trip.
Great service. A top hotel. The ski card discount is getting expensive though, it used to me mucn more affordible.
It's the Fairmont. Went for pond skating and came in to have hot chocolate at the deli. It was good. I will likely go back. The hotel does a nice job of being luxurious while also being welcoming to all and not pretentious.
Service was excellent. Food wonderful and there were a number of activities on the lake including skating and hockey. Sleigh rides and apple roasts. Great weather. Great weekend.
Very warm and peaceful, not to busy, staff are very helpful and informative. Have great restaurants and the skating is also a great amenitie.
This place is very elegant. We went there to watch the Ice Magic Festival but stayed for a while to have a hot chocolate and a snack. We taught the price was going to be expensive, but it actually was a fair price. However the food quality was just great! I love this place and can't wait to go back again.
Rooms are great. Service is fantastic. Beds are comfy. Restaurants are very busy and make sure you book in advance. However, for a mountain resort, there really should be more effort spent on the pool/hot tub area. The pool is small, dated, and overcrowded. The hot tub is so small that you inevitably give body rub massages to your neighbours. The fitness area is full of old equipment and needs to be refreshed. Not up to the standard of other Fairmont hotels.
It is a dream. One haven of both architectural… How the… Nature becomes infatuated in that place…
The best that one may live is a dream.

The hotel is in a breathtaking location and the views are amazing. The room was comfortable and well appointed. As I was attending a conference I can’t comment on the standard dining options.
