We have stayed here on numerous occasions on our travels and can wholeheartedly recommend this hostel, we have always found the owners open, friendly, and hospitable. They have always gone to great pains to explain there policies and always provide us with a wonderful stay.

Relaxed, super clean, nice staff. A great place to stop on your way through or to stay for some time. Would happily recommend anyday.

Great place to stay and meet new people, central to everything and an easy walk down Flinders Street to the bus hub to access other parts of the City.

Quiet clean hostel whenever im in Townsville if I need a hostel to stay this is always where I stay I wouldn't stay at any other hostel. The kitchen is awesome I like this place becuase its so clean and the owners work hard to keep it like this. Chill out areas with tvs and fans and cold water dispenseralso close to everything.

Great backpacker stayed for close to a three weeks all up & would stay again! very clean and has that warm and cozy feeling! Great staff always willing to go above and beyond & best of all the free pancakes every morning :) Huge kitchen, great lounge areas & plenty of awesome people who came through! Close to the ferry terminal to magnetic island, Clean, wonderful kitchen, air condition in the room, pancake breakfast included
Bad:
No charger/light next to each bed, we have to share the single one and far from everyone bed.
Wi-Fi performance spotty (even at 5am)

Could not fault it, comfortable, great amenities and the best location and nice people running it.

Wow! If you want to stay in townsville for a bit the reef lodge is definitely a good place to choose. The staff is super helpfull und friendly. Besides that it is just a place with a good vibe. Nice people, a great commenarea with sofas and hammocks and a clean kitchen.
Also a good location to visit magnetic island because its pretty close to the ferry.

Atmosphere was very chill, nice rooms, Wi-Fi wasnt the best and not a lot of people there.

The Best Backpackers ever I've stayed. I stayed just one night. But, Every stuff and room, the mood was so perfect. Also, I really impressed with the arrangement of buildings and detail of the interior and stuff (like the sanitary bag, hair dryer). And everywhere was super clean.

Such a great hostel! The cleanest hostel kitchen I know, clean rooms and bathrooms.
The area is really beautiful, many places to chill. It is very green as well.
The staff is always friendly and the hostel is really guite.
Gym, Movies, Games… You will not feel boring. Close to supermarkets, the beach, cafes and restaurants.
I can recommend it completely!

Best hostel I have stayed in on my East Coast trip so far to be honest. Spotlessly clean (rooms, kitchen, communal areas) chill out areas are awesome and well set out. Ideal location. Very well looked after place, I really do recommend it.

Stayed here on and off for 3 weeks. Very accommodating friendly staff. Cleanest hostel I've ever been to and Wi-Fi is at warp speed!

Was fine, though was only there very briefly. Late check in process was pleasingly straight forward. Convenient location for the greyhound bus and ferry.

An amazing set up when considering it's in the heart of the city. It has everything you would need. Kitcken, Wi-Fi, laundry, shower and even TV facilities. Perfect if your travelling by yourself but even better if you're travelling as a group. Overal a great experience and the owner is very helpful to guests that don't know the area very well.

Could do with an update. Tired old mattresses and bedding make for an uncomfortable sleep. You wouldn't put up with it at home so why would you expect your guests to? Yes its cheap but that does not mean it shouldnt be comfortable. Not enough power points for charging your phone. These are modern times. This joint is lagging.

Only stayed here for one night but what a great hostel, the man on reception (didn't get his name) stay open later for us to arrive even though he had been there since 8am (12hrs) an was so friendly and welcoming, the facilities where very clean, the rooms have air conditioners, an comfortable beds which is rare for hostels. I would recommend this hostel to anybody! I will definitely be back!

I loved my stay at this hostel. The atmosphere is peaceful and positive. The cosy inner courtyard, the stairs and trees make you feel in a little Mediterranean town. The facilities are clean and work great. I got more than I expected.

Dean the manager was one of the rudest people I have ever met! I was taken very ill while traveling and instead of helping me I was treated to extraordinary abuse! No real amenities either and CERTAINLY NOT A GOOD REPRESENTATION FOR TOWNSVILLE TOURISM! People wanting to stay up and talk etc after 11pm on Saturday! night were also unpleasantly treated and most chose to go elsewhere pdq! Yes, Dean, I DO have "issues" with the abuse of sick/disabled/women and disabled! But not a concept you could understand unfortunately. Baaaad. Well this charming fellow shows his true colours with his passive aggressive replies! Note the subtle threat lol! Sociopaths do have such problems with criticism! I urge you to read all the reviews. I am not alone in this experience. I travel a lot for my work and have never seen anything quite like this in Australia at least. Townsville is sorely lacking in adequate eaccommodation at the low end of the market. Especially for disabled people! I will be addressing Council about this. Meanwhile, I can recommend Townsville Guest house for longer term periods of months if you wish. And you will be treated calmly and fairly there with no shreiking and threatening abuse! Orchid Guest House in the city for shorter term is recommended also.

Rooms are really clean, mattress are comfortable, kitchen it the best I came across on my travel, Wi-Fi is great. I will definitely recommend this place!

Great place to stay. Close to town, beach, night clubs and island ferry terminal. The price for a stay is very good.

I really liked this hostel. It had a chill atmosphere and everything was really clean. The only change I would make would to make it more clear when people are booking on HostelWorld that not all the rooms have A/C.

Very comfortable, relatively quiet hostel. Very good kitchen and good showers/toilets. There is almost every evening free popcorn and a movie and Sunday free pancakes. Rooms are well air conditioned. Nice staff.

Nice place, clean and well run, very quiet but nice for a chill. As for the town its in… soooo dull, everything closes on weekends, castle hill and magnetic island are the only good things here.

Missing this place like crazy 100% the cleanest hostel in Qld perfect location amazing staff. The owners are so laid back. Great place to meet fellow travelers.

It is not is good place for those concern about your credit card security. I need to provide EVERY card information when I request a late check-in (after 8pm). Room and kitchen look clean but I can still find a big cockroach moving fast on the wall. TV lounge has good movie every night. And every room has lockers. However they won't allow people to store their baggage after 12:30pm for the day checkout. Besides, I still need to provide my personal information eg: home country contact when I checkout. What a stupid policy!?

One of the best hostels we have inhabited on our Australia trip. Very nice staff, who cares about his guests. At the Movienight there was popcorn for free.
Very clean, quiet and cosy hostel with a well equipped kitchen, which was thoroughly cleaned every day. Bathrooms and showers were also very clean compared to many other hostels.
A supermarket, the city, the ferries to Magnetic Island, Premier/Greyhoundbusstation and the beach were within walking distance in Max. 10-15 min.
