Where to start
The bunks are kids bunks not adult beds
No ladders so injuried myself climbing onto the top bunk
The bathroom is on the other end of the property and never has any soap or paper towel to wipe hands
The kitchen has no equipment to cook or use after reception closes
People being loud and carry though out the night
And also have a rash from what I think is a bed bug glad I brought my own sleeping bag to sleep in.

Nice double room. Friendly staff at the reception. Rooftop pool is great. Bathrooms are not the best.

The hostel is clean and tidy. The kitchen must-have fridge because some rooms (where are the small fridges) are really far from the kitchen.

Good accommodation, drove from here to Magnetic Island, could leave our car here for free at the hostel parking.
Rooms are clean, the staff is friendly.

Good hostel. Had a double room. Unfortunately many of the showers and Klos "out of order" and not the cleanest. Beautiful entrance area and in the morning free instant coffee, tea and toast with jam or butter. Community space far from inviting with broken and dirty sofas, were eating out. Wi-Fi didn't work.

This backpackers is one of the best I've come across. The staff is very professional and you can expect a warm and genuine welcome. Very clean rooms and facilities. Very affordable and close to the many wonderful places Townsville has to offer.

Avoid this place. This place was ok when I came here just over three years ago and thats why I came back for my 10 days holiday in Townsville but not anymore. Paid for a week but left after a few days. Iwas told I could only stay in a single room only. The room is just a bed and a fan. Aircon is not cold. Had to open the window and had no privacy as a result. There was no fridge to put my food in. Ask reception and was told every room has a fridge, she laughed when I said I didnt have one in my room. I asked again the next day and was told they'd put one in my room. Waited all day and still no fridge and my food had gone off in the heat as a result. Do not go swimming in the pool as the tiles are loose and cracked, one girl cut her hand bad as a result. This place should not be called a backpackers anymore as it is just low cost housing for the unemployed of Townsville, I wouldn't even called it holiday accommodation. The carpark is not secure and anyone can walk in off the street. Ive stayed in some bad hostels around the world and this is one. Im very disappointed for coming back here. Would be better sleeping in my car.

I never do reviews but for this place is a must. What a meth den. Gross in every way and I have never felt so unsafe in my life before. If you love doing crack this is the place for you. Hope you guys get shut down.

The single room represents a prison cell (not that I have ever been to jail before). The Aircoin unit is way too small to cool the room which its designed for. Some of the showers don't work. This is just a place for 1 night to sleep. Look around at other places first.

Although the rooms only have the necessities, for the price you can't complain. It has a rooftop pool with nice view's. And the manager is very friendly. It's very close to the city and not very far from the strand. Great location.

Good value place, but bathrooms where miles away and the ambiance was 'carpark chic'. Everything was clean though and staff where super helpful and friendly.

Beds small and uncomfy but that's not too uncommon in hostels. After reception closed the kitchen basically unusable as there aren't any useful utensils.

Clean, comfortable, quiet, helpful staff, friendly guests,! good showers and handy to amenities and walking distance to places of interest.

Nice rooms, good clean showers, swimming pool and a gym. Free breakfast in the morning and very helpful and friendly staff. It's cheap as well, I couldn't ask for more.

Bad. Avoid. See reviews. Obviously the same obnoxious creep with serious anger issues who runs the Reef in town. Refuses to improve the situation. Everybody else's fault in his case. Perhaps less time stalking genuine reviewers and more on actual maintenance? If you must run his gauntlet the reef is far preferable to this! Far more convenient at least though no parking. Minimum stays recommended if at all. Townsville Guest house is sane and long term accommodated. Orchid Guest House in the city is good for short stays and also abuse free!

Adventurers backpackers took me in when I needed a place to stay after being evacuated off Magnetic Island. Their hospitality and kindness is always at a constant high :) the beds are fresh and the rooms are perfectly air conditioned. This hostel is the best place for backpackers to stay in Townsville with low lodging prices :)

Stayed here back in late 2010, place was a dump, nothing worked, and location was a long walk from anything useful, I also got sprayed with a fire extinguisher by some local kids whom could simply walk in and out of the place, no security at all. Only good thing is that its spacious, all rooms are big.

Worst place ever! Ac didn't work. Kitchen was terrible and stoves didn't work. Had to stay on 3rd floor. We booked 8 days but checked out after 1. They quoted us $40 per night but charged our card for $58 per night. Manager was super rude to my wife. They clearly don't know how to run a hostel. We ended up staying at orchid hostel and the lady that owns it is super nice and its a clean nice spot ground level.

Hi, Im an Aussie moving around a lot and needed somewhere quiet and affordable away from the hype where I could re — group. This place is perfect! Its like a big queenslander building. The rooms have there own fridges, they are cool (no need for air — con) and clean. The pool is decent and the kitchen is massive. Friendly and very helpful ladies to help out at the desk or just hang out with while you enjoy a tea or coffee. Its a short walk to the city centre and in my opinion, on the more comfortable side of the marina. At $46 per night for a private room with double bed I can't fault it. Oh and there's ample free parking!

Nice place to base but could be better maintained. The staff apparently did not understand the meaning of service. Prefer another institution.

There is no soap in the toilet. There are no utensils in the kitchen from 11-1 pm and early night while we need to cook.

One night, not more. An apparent laxity of management to backpackers for longer stays. I just get a room occupied for a long time by the same occupiers (including one french), this one is in a terrible state for the eyes and the nose. If you are sensitive to hygiene, avoid this hotel.

Google gives false high rating, almost all reviews are negative! Hostel has much room for improvement.

First time I have ever stayed in a backpackers. I found it quite pleasant, fairly clean rooms, cheap, comfortable stay, pretty peaceful, owners where very on top of things and seemed to run their business quite well, they are quick to deal with any issues that come up. Thanks you II will definitely stay again if the need arises.
