Great location and with all rooms facing the ocean you can’t go wrong. We are on level 13, views fantastic, handy to have a kitchenette and a bath in the bathroom, a luxury when you don’t have one at home!

Mmmm… where do I start! We paid extra for what was described as a 'refurbished' studio! Perhaps the refurbishment happened a looong time ago… Here is the list — stained couch, equally stained coffee table, tiles in the bathroom from another era, balcony door doesn't close properly (try sleeping with a whistle coming through the gap — not to mention a bed that rolls away on the tile floor! ), the laundry facilities advertised are not within the apartment, despite 5 days notice for an early check in that was denied, I was told they are only allowed to give one roll of toilet paper at a time, oh and the brown running water in the kitchen sink! Apparently plumbers had been on site that day, though we weren't advised at time of check in. It took about 3 hours to get this resolved. The only good thing were the views. We will NOT be back.

Absolutely stunning views, very friendly and accommodating staff and the rooms are just lovely.

The stunning view of the ocean and an amazing sight of magnetic island. The rooms were quiet and relaxing with a small but peacfull varander over looking the beach. The room was very well maintained and having the blinds open letting the sun and the ocean breeze drift in gave the room an enhancing overall feel.

Just had a great experience dealing with the General Manager, Rick regarding a complex issue with a future booking! Highly recommend this hotel!

Great view, but
"Sugar ants" are apparently a normal issue within the rooms that they forget to mention! When you call them because your room is over run by ants, they just tell you to "spray what comes out as its a normal thing for the climate"
Not acceptable at all.
Do NOT recommend unless you have your own ant kill spray.

An Awesome view, great pool area, convenient to shops & the strand is beaming with activities for children. The building is clean, a great sized apartment, with friendly staff. Kari on the front desk went all out to be ectreamly helpful.

Always wanted to stay here and finally have! This will be my go to place in Townsville from now on as I love it great service, clean, spacious & close to everything. Karee in reception is Amazing and her service is brilliant! Thank you. (views are the best)

Lovely Hotel, Great Spot, Friendly Staff, Beautiful View, Nice and Clean Room… We stayed on the 11th floor and I would recommend this hotel however I do have just 1 issue… Which is There Are NOT Enough Carparks for the amount of rooms… We were Very Disappointed that Every Night (for our 3 night stay) we had to park on the street down the road… But apart from that we really enjoyed our stay here…

Great position overlooking magnetic island. On a cool night you can leave your balcony door open to experience beautiful fresh sea breezes.
Plenty of parking spaces at the back of the building, first in gets a park, free parking on the front and back street If you don’t get a park in the hotel parking spaces. By taxi it’s under $10 to get to the casino. Staff friendly and helpful.
Plenty of shops along the front to serve food, alcohol & coffee etc.

View can’t be beaten and every room has the View.
Admittedly the higher floor have a better view.

Reception staff were super lovely and helpful and the locals that live there are very friendly. Amazing views.

This hotel is located on The Strand in close proximity to a number of restaurants and cafes. The views are amazing overlooking the bay towards Magnetic Island. My room on the 13th floor was clean and tidy. The mattress and pillows were comfortable and waking up to a wonderful sunrise was an added bonus. The staff were pleasant and very helpful. Excellent value for money.

Fantastic hospitable staff that made my staff very pleasant. Nothing was too much trouble and the view and location is premium. Enjoy a walk along the strand literally from the front door!

I loved Aquarius On The Beach until l woke up in the morning. We had the perfect room, well equipped, very clean and tidy, staff were very accommodating and parking is on the ground floor out the back of the motel. Our room was up quite high and over looking the gorgeous ocean, beach and entire Strand; what an awesome sight to wake up to but it was so very hot on the balcony you couldn’t stay out there very long at all and we had to have the drapes closed to stop the heat beaming in the windows so we didn’t get to enjoy the view for very long at all. That was the only thing that put me off this motel and there isn’t any way of stopping it either because every room has the perfect view of the ocean so the sun hits every room and balcony equally. So if you don’t mind the heat then grab a room a enjoy that spectacular view.

Love the location, close to many restraunts. We parked the car, never used it the whole time there… just beautiful to sit on balcony, go for walk.
Rooms are clean and tidy. Only problem we had was people floor above us had a party till after 2am, then got woken by them yelling rooster sounds and yelling at 5am in morning. Didnt appreciate it. Then theres policy, smokers can smoke on balconys but to close their doors, but we had ours open for fresh air, but we got smoked out from people smoking on balcony, as I suffer ashma, I suffered from this. Rooms not very sound proof.

The view is perfect spent about two weeks here! Dont expect much remember where you are geographicly! Townsville is struggling.

Our flight from Brisbane cancelled unexpectedly 3 hours before takeoff. Aquarius were fantastic and let us cancel at late notice without penalty. Service and empathy from staff (Lisa) was outstanding. Have stayed here before and always great service. Outstanding location.

Its a little bit older but has a magnificent view across to Magnetic Island. The tallest highrise fronting the beach. Quite a few eateries just down the road and has a nice restaraunt, ideal for breakfast overlooking the Coral Sea. I would stay there again.

Outstanding view even from the 4th floor. Old building but kept in reasonable order and clean. Close to many places including casino.

Great value for money, in a really nice location with nice views over Magnetic Island from the higher level rooms. Having said that, even the refurbed rooms are a bit dated, and some of the furnishings are a bit worn. For the price though you can't ask much more.

So it’s gone under new management and the main driveway was closed for repairs, but still the best views, price and comfort on the Strand — as long as you get an upper floor and refurbished room. Everything is within easy walking distance if you like a stroll. Great restaurants and bars close by. That’s why Aquarius is our first preference for accommodation in Townsville.

The best hotel to stay at if you want a room with a view. Right in the middle of the stand looking out at the ocean. Parking space is available. Good room size with all the amenities necessary.

Great location, Beautiful view. But bedroom doesn't look like what was advertised. It is outdated. Our bedroom wasn't very clean particularly the bathroom. Terrible Wi-Fi. Not good value for money in my opinion.

Very friendly staff, great view, comfortable beds and very spacious roofs. Perfectly located to the swimming beach, a dozen different restaurants, coles the ferry to maggie and 2 bottle stores. The perfect place for a week away.

We booked this room 7 months ago we have stayed here several times rooms were lovely and staff were lovely this time the 1st room they gave us we walked out of elevator and nealy choked on someones smoke room was smokey also so they moved us to the 7th floor room was warn out dingy coffe table looked like kids had been drawing on it very disapointed. Stuck here now. Aw well. Lesson learnt check room 1st. Very disappointed.

We staying on the 11th floor it was lovely the views of The Strand the hotel room my little dated was actually quite nice had a fridge microwave kettle toaster and all the things you need to basically live at home.

Its right on the strand beautiful view. Rooms are perfect. Restaurants next door. Parking not so great when fully booked. Had to wait for someone to leave didnt want to leave my car on the street overnight.

Pros — Lovely views, every day cleaning service, convenient for walks and swimming, close to cafes and restaurants. Cons — small rooms, common coin operated laundry (4$ for 1 wash & 4$ for 1 drying).

Love staying here! The view is amazing, the girls at reception are super friendly and there are some great restaurants nearby that you can easily walk to.

We booked and paid for a deluxe room with a bath, when we arrived we given a room with out a bath, they changed the room to a standard room with a tiny bath at the same deluxe price. We found the room had a leaking toilet, TV that you could only view if the room was in total darkness, mould around the bath, a tiny little table and two very old chairs to eat on. The outside balcony furniture chairs were torn and rotten from old age (not safe to sit in). So we could not sit outside on the balcony. So for us to sit at the table a chair provided comfortably we had to move the extra single bed to up against the wall just eat. we did report this and we were told you fully booked and the rate stands, he did note the toilet was leaking and the TV was faulty but not interested in anything else and would not reduce the $525. Fro two nights accommodation. Overall we were very unhappy with whole experience. ps the one star was only so we could post this review.

Rooms are a little dated but besides that would come and come again, perfect picturest location, close to dinning and th3 city, family friendly and fantastic service.

In regards to our booking, I did speak to the person on the front counter about the issues with our room 107 level1. Please take note, the curtains were stained and ripped (disgusting) fitting in bathroom were all loose, there was no tea, coffee, sugar or milk for us to have a cup on arrival. Lounge chair was just pitiful and disgusting, cushions on lounge were thread bear.

We visit Townsville regularly and only stay at the Aquarius. The rooms are very clean and the staff are freindly, but the main reason we choose the Aquarius is the amazing views across the bay to Magnetic Island. I believe every room has views as good as ours. Well keep coming back.

2nd time at Aquarius last time 23rd October 2015, both have been great. Fantastic location, close to restaurants, bars, shopping. Great views, we were on 11th floor. Very good value for money, clean and comfortable, receptionist friendly and polite. Would definitely recommend to family and friends. A few minor points: please stock your bar fridge at reception, as it was lacking any chardonnay and a beer listed, but not available, no champagne glasses in room.

I stayed for 5 nights during October 2015 Clean Room, Room Service Every Day was a surprise, Air Con and TV Great, Views Perfect, Awesome Price, would recommend to all. I will stay there again everytime im in Townsville.

My son and I as well as friends enjoyed a 3 night stay here at this wonderful accommodation. Loved the location as we were in Townsville for an athletics State Champ meet so only a 5 minutes walk to the track venue. Kids had a blast cooling off in the hotel pool even though the beach is just across the road. Room was very clean and comfortable and suited our needs and offered great views. Staff were super helpful and friendly. Would stay here again next time we visit Townsville and will recommend Aquarius on The Beach as a great place to stay!

Great position on the Strand — right in the middle of everything and within walking distance. Fabulous view from the 5th floor and the Hotel is everything you need and want in Townsville with great service.

My family and I have chosen to stay at Aquarius on the Beach many times because of the friendliness and helpfulness of staff. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with wonderful views from the balconies. It is located near good restaurants (which are also reasonably priced). On site parking is available for guests with cars; for those without a car, a bus service is easily accessed from a bus stop on The Strand, very close to the entrance to "Aquarius". Guests are able to "self cater" breakfast and light meals/snacks, using simple kitchen supplies in the room. Recently renovated rooms (with a more expensive tariff) also have laundry facilities in the bathroom.

We enjoyed a two night stay at this hotel last week. We found the manager and staff very pleasant and very helpful with our requests. Wonderful location, very clean rooms and overall a very enjoyable stay. Thank you Tony & staff for making our time away a pleasant one. We will definitely be staying here again in the future. Very tired building and rooms. After taking lift to our floor on departing the lift the aisle and room had a very strong musty smell. On entering the room we had to open the balcony door. Handle on drawer very clearly broken, whilst the overhead light was held by 1 screw and wires were exposed. The bed was due for change. Otherwise room was clean enough. The location was magnificent with ocean views and overlooking the swimming pool. I did not think that I got value for money.

Thanks for a great 4 day stay. Perfect position as we flew to Townsville and didn't need a car. Great walking area especially Kissing Point recommend it as a must see when there. Room was clean and the bed very comfortable and clean bathroom. Internet was a bit hit and miss but didn't really need it. Would stay there again and recommend it to friends. Thanks Aquarius. Lyn.

A most beautiful location, probably the best Motel in Airlie Beach. However, when we arrived early to check in, we were told our room was not ready. The staff said that they would contact us when it was. So when we arrived back at the Motel at the proposed check in time of 2.00pm, our room was ready but the young lady would not explain why we weren't called. After travelling for an extended amount if time, all you want to do is get in, it doesn't seem to be a problem at any other Motel. Also, when breakfast is included, it appears it is only continental, but I'm not sure this is clearly set out when booking. After viewing the prices, continental was $19.00, a cooked breakfast was $19.50. I believe the Motel is overpriced.

Beautiful spot Could walk to great dinner spots and breakfasts too, just along The Strand Great bed and view and TV facility too. Loved it. If its is helpful for customer service ideas, we had a disappointing experience with Rydges on Palmer St with losing some very important but inexpensive property due to accidentally leaving it behind in the room and then returning to collect 2 bags in reception and remembering we'd left the item only 2hrs later but alas it was impossible to obtain it back (or even find out where it had been binned) which seemed so silly after all of the good work done by the staff to make the visit joyful, to only be ruined in the final moment when surely its an idea to put aside any belongings of a customer — even if for just the rest of the day checking out — in case they might call back to try and retrieve it. We have just had our 9th stay at the Aquarius over 9 years and will go back again. It is a top place to stay, clean, great view, right on the strand for people of any age to enjoy and close to restaurants and coffee shops. Supermarket and chemist facilities just around the corner. Now. For the staff. They are just great, plenty of friendly banter, very helpful and very efficient. They all do a great job from the front desk to the cleaning and maintenance staff. I love staying at Aquarius on the beach when in Townsville (4 to 5 times a year), Tony and his team are friendly and helpful and the hotel is in a fantastic position to access great local food and coffee. This apartment complex is very nice, the staff are exceptionally helpful nothing too much trouble. The rooms were serviced every day if you wanted if you didn't want the room serviced all you had to do was put the do not disturb sign out and they wouldn't bother until the next day. Everything was spotless, I have recommended this complex to my friends already. We will definitely be going back.

We had a great week long stay at The Aquarius. The pictures you see are pretty spot on to what you get. The bathrooms could use a little repair work on deterioration. The internet was a bit sluggish, but the hotel said they are working on getting an upgrade. Great location with an unbeatable view. The pool was fantastic and clean. Great and helpful staff. Next time we are in Townsville, this will be the only place we will stay.

My husband and I always have a lovely time when we stay at the aquarius. We wouldn't stay anywhere else, very handy to restaurants, shop, airport etc. Also the staff are very friendly and helpful. Glenda salmond.

The hotel was good and staff were friendly and made us feel very welcome, the room was ok but the bath tub had a stain in it bit I over looked that as the hotel was clean and welcoming would stay here again. there could be coffee in the lobby for customers othere than that we recommend it to any one.

Aquarius has a view you simply cannot match in any other accommodation in Townsville. The staff are friendly and knowledgable, the location is central and the room rates are good. Seriously — what more could you want? We loved our most recent stay and we will be back again and again.

The Complex is on a prime site overlooking the Strand and we had lovely afternoon breezes each day. The room was older and had a few 'lived in' blemishes but it was really clean and comfortable and the housekeeping staff did a great job. Reception team were also lovely — nothing was too much trouble. I'd recommend it for proximity to great dining spots, The Strand and the views of Cleveland Bay and Magnetic Island.

Our 4 night stay was very pleasurable. Importantly the rooms were very clean and tidied each day. Magnificent views of the waterfront and Magnetic Island, with a cool breeze at night. The microwave stopped and the staff at the desk were quick to have it replaced so that we could use it when we got home that night. My wife and I will stay there again next year, as its close to a shopping center, and restaurants. In fact this was our second stay. We recommend the place.
