Love this place, even though we live just down the road. We do try to book a suite here a few times a year as a treat and are never disappointed. Would highly recommend to anyone, whether business, short break, health spa or just taking the family away. So much to do and the food is out of this world along with the beautiful rooms. Can’t wait for our next stay!

Our family treat. We don't come for the golf but for the service, the food, the atmosphere and the local shopping. Great staff. Always helpful and friendly. The best breakfast anywhere. Love it.

Been coming here on and off for the last 10 years. Best golf resort in England and Wales. Clubs and yourself looked after from the moment you arrive. Will need to be an above average golfer to really get the most from 2010. Outstanding course. The Roman Road is no pushover too. All staff make you feel welcome. Great breakfast. Hope to bring my wife and young child one day so we can enjoy the family activities.

What a fantastic place to visit golf courses are absolutely amazing. All the staff were extremely helpful. The food in the Olive Tree restaurant was nicely varied and well prepared. I thought my entire visit was excellent.

Impeccably presented. Very humble and helpful staff, nothing too much. Some great golf day deals. Saw one from £40 including breakfast. Hospitality and conferencing is well managed and I thoroughly enjoyed my business visit.

We had the Spring Afternoon Tea in the garden Room restaurant (along with half of south Wales it seemed! ) Which was pleasant enough. It was very sweet so wouldn't have minded some different tastes to it. Staff were very welcoming too. We had a wander round the rest of the resort whilst we were there and it was busier than we expected and send very popular with families. If you play golf I think this may be the place for you!

Montgomerie course is in poor condition and the bar staff seem to struggle to smile. Everything seemed too much effort, argumentative and rude on not one but quite a few occasions. We was a group of 24 who didn't complain and just wanted to have a few beers in the bar after a game of golf. One of our group just asked for a pint of orange squash and politely asked if they could have a touch more cordial, rather than just top it up the bar manager was more concerned about arguing it was enough and trying to prove a point. The rest of us were knocking the beers back paying £5.80 a pint, surely a touch more cordial shouldn't be too much of a problem. The short guy with a beard was the manager on shift and he is definitely one of the rudest managers I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. This place will never get return visitors and will only keep busy through continuing to sell to new groups considering their venue but that will dry up eventually. I would seriously consider getting getting a new hospitality manager to train and put some life into the staff. A smile can go a long way, every bar girl and waitress looked like they really hated working there. Save your money and choose another venue!

Bad restaurant but nice and clean location.

Stayed in the Manor. April 2018. Stunning hotel. Some of the restaurants were closed, which was odd as I was told the main hotel was fully booked up, so would presume the restaurants would be open. Manor Room had a few 'maintenance' issues, which I was not expecting from the calibre of hotel. Main door did not close smoothly, it was rather aggressive! Toilet would not stop running, unless the button was taken off the wall and reset (looks like this had been done previously due to the seal being broken). Hinge on the fridge broken.

I bloody loves it I do! Food amazing. Room amazing. Spa amazing. It was my dream to spend the night here and my boyfriend booked us a room for my birthday. It was very special. Although I was disappointed that I saw a gentleman wearing a baseball cap at breakfast. I wanted to be all up myself and that made it a bit difficult. I'll make up for it next time!

I haven't seen the bedrooms. It's a great place to meet for coffee or informal business meetings. There's also an excellent spa. I've attended conferences here and the facilities are also excellent. It is huge, so if you're after something intimate this isn't it. However, lovely staff, good parking facilities and a location that makes it central without needing to enter a city make this a place I visit often.

Admittedly visited for a spa break in the Easter break but Celtic manor needs to emphasise they are a family hotel. I expect spa hotels to be tranquil and relaxing. The pool at Celtic manor was busier than my local leisure centre. Standing room only in the changing rooms. Parking charges are scandalous I really don’t expect to pay to park in a hotel where I’m staying. Whilst the surroundings are pleasant, the room was typical of most hotels. Staff were completely uninterested in my feedback. Nice view of a construction site, had trouble booking for a Saturday even though I purchased a voucher on cyber Monday and paid extra to get a Saturday night. In the end they could only accommodate us on a Friday. Had expected great things from the Celtic manor sadly was quite disappointed. Not an experience I’d repeat or recommend.

Rooms n views stunning. Food was amazing… really chilled, pampered stay. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would of given 5 stars but was disappointed we had 2 pay £15 4 carpark for an overnight stay…

Beautiful spacious rooms, friendly and helpful staff. The spa was good with steam room and saunas, very pretty pool. Good facilities for families. We had a buffet style meal and the selection and quality of food was good. Was a really good value for money package deal and I was impressedm I am only dropping a star as the booking process was dreadful, I bought a voucher for an overnight spa stay and it took about 6 calls, each time with a 15 min call centre wait then faults with the system and people assuring they would call back and then not. Would not be keen to go through that again!

Excellent service as always. Stayed on the sixth floor in a Signature suite. Evening dinner at Rafters, an essential for every stay. Fine dining experience in the evening, followed by excellent breakfast again this morning. I have never had a bad experience here, and I will return again and again.

5 stars are not enough. This hotel is amazing. The staff are incredible. Nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are clean and well equipped. The spa is lovely and welcoming and the food is excellent. So much to see, so much to do and just a fabulous place to spend time. I loved every minute. Thanks for the visit. I will return without doubt. X.

Fantastic place for a work conference and the staff were excellent, only down falls I had were the room key didn't work then having to go all the way back to the lobby to sort it. And the other issue was the rooms seem to be over looked in ways when they are 'cleaned' I found letters from a previous stay and also the tea and coffee box had used / open packets of hot chocolate and the tray it was all on was very dusty. But this did not spoil the stay and the view is great.

Can I say for a 5 star establishment the food in the Olive tree restaurant is really quite poor as is the service. Well it's self service and the staff don't really seem to care. I was quite shocked at both dinner and breakfast. I have worked in four star hotel and the service this hotel provides would not of been tolerated. Not sure how the ratings are completed but they got this one wrong. (we have complained to hotel)

Celtic manor, we have stayed a few times now. It desperately needs refurbishing. The rooms are stuff hot and outdated. We requested a fan it took several phone calls and a couple hours later was received. Golf courses are to a good standard. Pool side could also do with and update but it is adequate enough. The breakfast and service is to a very good standard. With all things considered it is three star rating.

We went to the Christmas ice rink. We had a great time skating. It wasn't too busy and the staff were very polite and helpful. My only complaint is about the coffee from the temporary cafe beside the rink. The server did say the coffee was a 'good instant style' type. I tried it and it wasn't even that good.

5 star luxury. Food was outstanding. Room was spacious and clean. Pool was nice and relaxing. Word of warning though — gets quite busy after 4 when the kids are allowed in. Food and drink are pricey but what do you expect in a 5 star hotel. Will definitely visit again.

Overnight stay to break up a journey. We made use of the pool and spa which was excellent and great for the children too. We are in the Olive Tree Restaurant. The food was very good with a large choice. We enjoyed watching the ice skating. The room was very comfortable. The one negative was the lifts which seem to struggle with the numbers of guests. Would have been happy to use the stairs but it wasn't at all obvious where they were.

Celtic manor is one of the most impressive venues in the uk. It has everything you can imagine a hotel resort would have. Spa and massage service is really nice. The rooms are very impressive and spacious, service is very friendly and everything is well signed. The restaurants there are very impressive and nice. Buffet breakfast in the morning is nice a real treat. Golf course is impressive and very popular. Only thing that I found frustrated was the casino night where the roulette man was disgustingly rude but apart from that I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

We went to see santa, went ice skating and had food in the bar. All was really great can't recommend it enough. But considering it is a five star hotel the toilets were disgusting. We visited two separate toilets, the first by the gym was smelly and the floor was soaking wet. Next time I took my son to the toilet by the mall and that to was dirty and had no soap. Small things but I always judge a place by the cleanliness of the toilets. Apart from this we had a great time and the kids really enjoyed.

Played the Roman road golf course. Unfortunately night before must have been torrential rain as course was very soggy in most parts. Surprised it was open to be honest. However still enjoyed our round as it's a course that offers the average golfer a challenge and enjoyed the new par 3 16 over water.

Lovely hotel, plenty to do. Excellent experience overall. Only get 4 stars as I had to wait over an hour and ring reception 3 times to get some clean linen for the bed.

Five stars and I don't even play golf. I love this place, I'm lucky enough to get to go here regularly on business. Generally I get to sit in the resort's vast array of meeting rooms, which are certainly fit for purpose. Where the stars are earned, for me, is the number and quality of the restaurants. Add on to that the friendly staff and the health facilities. Always a pleasure and it kind of makes me look forward to the business trip, kind of…

Took my son to see Santa. That experience was good. My son liked it and all the staff were good. Have given 3 stars because the car park was a short journey away which they had a bus for. A problem with the bus/communication meant my family and I were left waiting for over 30mins on a very cold day. Not good especially for young children. Tainted the whole experience.

I'll get the negatives out of the way. Had some issues where it took us over half an hour to check in and ended up in the wrong room, so we had to move. Stayed in a signature double room which was advertised as a 6ft king bed but actually twins pushed together. This coupled with issues with the air conditioning meant we didn't have a very good night's sleep. Came to relax and ended up exhausted! Nevertheless, the room was clean and homely with lots of room. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was excellent, we had dinner in Cen, and breakfast in Steak on Six which were both delicious. The spa was very busy (fair enough on a Saturday) but the facilities were plentiful and clean. The resort itself has plenty to do and is very well presented.

The experience and the hotel were phenomenal! All staff are so helpful and kind. My only comment as a negative in my opinion, is that the drinks are rather expensive. £3.90 for a pint of OJ and Lemonade which had a large amount of ice and wasn't quite full. That being said it was the best oj and Lemonade I have ever had.

Truly wonderful place. We live nearby (you can see it) and are members of one of the gyms. The whole atmosphere is superb. They have things for children as well! My wife likes it so much we stayed in the hotel overnight.

Comfy rooms which are decent sizes. Six different restaurants to choose from, and a really good breakfast buffet. If you need to be in Newport then it's probably the only place you want to consider. Seems to have a good spa/pool area but I was on business and didn't get chance to use it.

Beautiful place to visit. Staff are very friendly, the resort is very clean and caters for everything and everyone. The food is lovely and always fresh, rooms are cleaned and maintained to a very high standard. Kids have a great time in the swimming pool and at all the activities they put on. Golf is great here on all 3 courses but the 2010 is a bit special to play, they make your visit to the 2010 a day to remember. Can't fault anything at the resort and would definitely recommend.

The Celtic Manor Resort is exceptional! The Sixth Floor Signature Suits are superb. Large rooms with Sofas and Armchairs, super king size bed, enormous marble bathroom with a separate bath and shower area. Complimentary bottle of wine in the room with chocolates, and a further free glass of Proseco in the main bar, Steak at Six. The customer service is first class. On the sixth floor you have your own bar and your own restaurant. Breakfast is a vast choice of cold meats, fruits, or a massive selection of hot food. Scrambled eggs, fried eggs, thick bacon steaks, beans, sausages, mushrooms and loads more. Breakfast is in a glass lounge with forest views, and views over the hills of Wales. Cannot recommend the Signature Suits enough. Cannot wait to book again!

I can only review the restaurant but boy was the food good. There was an island of starters, another of beautifully presented mains and a hard to keep away from dessert island. On top of this was a carvery serving some of the best roast meats I have ever seen. I had the gammon which had been steamed for 5 hours before being honey roasted it was so tender and easily the best I have ever tasted. The beef was hard to resist, glowing rare in the middle and perfectly browned on the outside. I, among others at my table overate. Largely due to the dessert selection, lots of little puddings. When you can't decide and have to have one of each you may suffer for a few hours but it is worth it. My only minor gripe would be the coffee at the end which was a little weak and tasteless. Oh and my daughter got locked in the toilet. Overall a wonderful dining experience. Will definitely go again.

Second time staying here and what a relaxing time we had. Upgraded to the Signature suites on the sixth floor and well worth the extra money. Dined at the Steak on Six as a treat and was not disappointed. Absolutely brilliant staff and the whole dinning experience was second to none. Special mention to James our server and Danielle and Michelle in Customer services. You all made our stay very special.

I went to see santa at the christmas kingdom… Everything was planned out perfectly to see santa there. Ice skating I am so glad I didnt do… The ice skating rink was just full of water, although the staff did try and clear it up there was no place for the water to go… People were struggling to skate. They were falling over and were soaked right through. There is no shelter over the ice rink to cover for when it is raining. Surely for such a nice place and the price they charge for ice skating you would think that they would put some shelter to stop the rain from flooding it! I would definitely see santa again… But would never attempt to go ice skating.

This was a very different experience from the last time went. Last time was great. I couldn't of asked for a better experience. This time however, was anothere story. The mini hard wasn't empty. It had the previous guests dinner in there. We found hairs in the bed. There were stains on the complementary gowns. We had to pay full price for breakfast just so we could have it in our room even though breakfast was included. The breakfast was average and not what I would expect from a 5 star hotel. On the plus side, customer service was good. Everyone was polite and the Christmas decorations were just right. Will we go again? It's difficult. Based on this experience alone, it's an easy no. However, we have been before and it was a completely different experience so we haven't written it off yet. I want to see some major improvements before go again.

Our stay was exceptional, we spent the weekend at the five star resort hotel for my girfriends birthday, the staff were incredibly helpful, the room and spa/gym facilities were amazing & the food & Rafters was exceptional. The included breakfast had eveything you could want & my girlfriend was very happy with the spa treatments we booked. We also went ice skating at the winter wonderland & loved the christmas atmosphere of the whole place! Loved our spa weekend stay & couldn't recommend it enough! Thank you to all the staff you really helped to make our weekend very memorable! We'll definitely be coming back!

A great location on the M4 corridor into Wales. A hotel for Wales to be proud of. Excellent facilities and impressive feel. Hotel rooms good size, with good choice of restaurants although book early to avoid disappointment at busy times. Only negative feeling is that it has plenty of activities for children outdoors but the time restrictions to using the swimming pool was disappointing. No children between 11am-4pm. On a cold winter day that's exactly where the children want to be. Staff very friendly. Breakfast was by far the best food option. We ate at The Grill which was underwhelming, its also not in the main resort.

First room was not clean. They moved us and the second one was better. Still not really 5* worthy. The spa was OK but I was expecting better. Odd they have steam rooms in the changing areas but not one that is shared. My wife and I would have liked to be in one together. The shared jacuzi was also lack luster. Staff were pleasant. We enjoyed the event we went there for.

Appalling treatment at the hotel and the gyms. Whilst some staff are good people, some snr managers are appallingly rude and contemptuous of members of the public who keep them in work. I was utterly disgusted with the CEO, Dylan Matthews' behaviour, and I will no longer use the Celtic Manor in any way, shape or form.

Played the 2010 coarse probably one of the best courses around next to Wentworth. Fantastic condition Need to plot you're way round If you're going there try and get down to the driving range earlier. You have to wait for the shuttle bus from the club house to the range which is next to the first tee. We were only given 25 minutes on the range but it is walkable. Stayed in the hotel. Nice room. Breakfast good. Well looked after. Bar meals & drinks expensive but would go back.

Have stayed at the Celtic Manor at least twice a year for the last ten years and enjoyed my stays, up until last weekend July 17th / 20th 2015. When you pay £170 per night you expect a decent hotel but the rooms need a makeover a. S. A. P. Breakfast was dissapointing had to ask for coffee on three occasions,, no side plates no spoons on the table,, no salt or pepper, when asked for a plate was given a saucer, sorry not good enough. My son was staying at the Manor and they ran out of Breakfast on the Sunday morning. Also they have changed the TV System and now there are no Pay Movies, and as I looked forward to be able to watch the Tour de France, to my amazement there was no ITV 4 and no S4C in Newport, Wales! The staff are really good but the management who make these decisions should be looked at, and to cap the lot was charged £45 for parking! Celtic Manor as it stands is no more than a 3 Star Hotel, get a grip on the situation a. S. A. P. Should mention that the Food at The Le Patio and Olive Tree was excellent!

Thank you for a lovely lunch at Rafter's today. Really enjoyed it food was lovely and staff were helpful and friendly, and thanks to our waiter Wes for looking after us so well.

Disappointed in this hotel — attended for a Conference and disliked the fact that I was asked to deposit £50 against any room charges when I had made it perfectly clear that I was not going to use it and would buy drinks as I went along. However the worst thing was that they told me it would take 5-10 days for this money to be re-credited — shocking. In addition, breakfast was not a great experience — I turned up at 8.30am on both days and on both days supplies were low — does it really take 15 minutes to fill up muesli?! Not really keen to go here again which is a shame as I was looking forward to the experience.

Staff in the hotel great but reservations and client relations team crap. Unacceptable queues to check in and to get breakfast. Rooms need money spent on them. Looking tired. 3*** hotel. Manky breakfast. But can't deny it is a convenient conference venue.

Hotel was good. Dinner was really good. Very good size room. Breakfast was disapponitment. Broken shower door, broken toilet roll holder. It took 4 hrs to deliver the luggage. Lots of noisy kids running around. Not suitable if you want relaxing holiday break.

Great resort, very relaxing. Food is expensive. Inn on the usk restaurant was beautiful. But coordination of services is lacking. Have stayed here twice wont stay again. Many mistakes on billing, spa appointments etc. And when brought to managements attention — nothing happens — nothing. Even when they say they'll fix the problem they don't. I was over charged for my room by 20 pounds I have emailed, called and everytime I get an assurance that they will remedy the issue — nothing. Same with a bad spa experience — " I had to nag and haggle with them. Not cool. Sorry but you have a ways to go in operational management. Stand alone components work well but the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing.

Our stay was a gift from dear friend on the renewal of our wedding vows. We were treated like royalty and I have nothing but praise for the staff and our surroundings.

We had a great time relaxing after Glastonbury Festival. Got a large three room suite for a great price. Staff was very nice, even we arrived dirty and stinky after the festival. Great service, great Wellnessarea.

Was told after a few holes on the Mongomery course that due to adverse weather conditions we would get our money back. 4 of eight came off the course after 9 holes. we reported to reception and they said we would get a pdf credit via email it now been 2 weeks and we still waiting for credit. buggies in a poor state wet and extremely dirty would not play there again in winter months.

I spent four days at a training event at the Celtic Manor and I have to say the building is very impressive, the hostesses were fabulous and the whole event run extremely smoothly. If you are looking to host an event big or small and you are in the Newport area or even not then definitely consider this great location.

Fantastic Course. Top class experience, customer service was out of this world. A cracking night apres golf, in a lively and enjoyable atmosphere.

Confused by the poor reviews on here. There's a long wait for breakfast if you wait to the last minute when everyone else is going. Get there a little earlier and there's no wait at all. Yes there are kids in the spa but there are plenty of adults only time slots. We had dinner in La Patio and had a very nice meal. Entertainment was a very talented singer who was a little OTT for our tastes. Room was exactly as described, very clean and high quality bedding / towels. All of the staff were exceptionally helpful from the moment we arrived. Planning on making this a regular venue for weekends away. Recommended.
