Save your money and use the Holiday Inn! RIP off parking, terrible management, car park 200yds plus from Hotel up a very steep drive, no steps no pavement, smallest double bed I’ve ever seen! Just save your money and go to the Holiday Inn next door!

Incredible place, warm welcoming, beautiful food.

Staff are truly excellent. A very wide range of facilities are available like spa, massages, sauna, steam room, pool, lots of outdoor activities… The Manor House rooms were nice though a bit dated. Interesting history as well, used to be a maternity hospital — I'm glad they've preserved it. Cen restaurant was amazing as a breakfast venue, not too busy as the Manor House is much smaller than the resort.

All staff were very helpful and efficient making my stay a pleasant experience. Thank you to all.

In the convention centre. Good number of toilets and helpful staff. They could have some better signage and guidence around the buildings.

Broken heating, complained three times as room was freezing, no action. Awful Paid over £200

This hotel was booked in bulk for a Team to stay in after completeing the London to Cardiff run. On arrival the Hotels appearance was nice. We had 7 Twin Rooms booked to include a 3 course evening meal and breakfast. Upon arrival our rooms were not set up for Twin Occupancy but all as doubles, This meant that after a 24 hour run we couldnt even get any rest as we had to wait for the beds to be divided and made up correctly. After having our evening meal they attempted to charge us for the evenings meal, it took a while but this was sorted out in the restaurant and then we just paid for the drinks and extras. The next morning we all awake to find our checkout bills under our doors, The amount that they tried to charge us the night before had now been charged to our rooms after previously sorting it out. This then caused us to spend part of our morning debating the issue with hotel management instead of relaxing over breakfast after completeing a 160 mile team run. The organisation and management of this situation was Very Poor. They shouldnt have tried to charge us at the Restaurant for the meal as it was include in the price of the booking and most certainly should not have tried to charge us a second time the next day. I would not reccomend booking with this resort. I would just like to add that the room maids and the staff at the breakfast buffet were very freindly and helpful, Its a shame the management dont have the capacity to follow their employees example.

Lovely place. Room was nice with a great view of the green. Staff was really nice and plenty of bars and food places to visit.

Great golf courses. Rooms were nice but becoming dated. Didn't eat in the resort, very pricey, went to a few local pubs and restaurants near by instead. Great value for money if your golfing — 3 rounds and accom with breakfast was £280 through a golf booking company.

Everything was great. Some say the rooms are a bit dated but I think it's just the choice of decor. Some will like it and some won't. One thing that might have bothered others was that air-conditioning was as dead as a dodo. Had good in the Cen restaurant which was honestly really good. Prices are reasonable and the food was delicious. Facilities were amazing and the ground even more so.

Had a Cardiff room booked for an all day workshop. Excellent service as everything was large TV replaces the projector which is great and great views or the room. Lunch buffet was excellent. Salmon teased great, great selection of desserts and tea coffee with cakes and biscuits available all day Tea breaks were also will catered for.

Fabulous place for a coffee, huge grand room with views over the golf course. Friendly service and not too expensive for a cafetiere of coffee or pot of tea. Sometimes there's live music on the grand piano.

Staying at Celtic Manor Resort hotel for one night, with rounds of golf on the Roman Road and Montgomery courses. Easy to find from the M4 after paying to get across the toll bridge over the river Severn. Grounds and scenery around the hotel are great, especially on a sunny day. Courses are generally well kept as you might expect, and the greens are in excellent condition, and super quick. Inside the hotel, the rooms are plush, excellent beds and Elemis bath products (Went down well with the wife! ) Service from the hotel was generally excellent all staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was superb, as you might expect from a hotel of this type. Buffet hot and cold, fruit, cereals, and a harpist providing relaxing music. For anyone not playing golf, there was a spa, pool, fitness centre, crazy golf, laser clay pigeon shooting, archery and a Go-Ape style tree top assault course. Bar was expensive, which is to be expected, and the burger they sold us was very dense, not our favourite, but all in all, and enjoyable stay, and good value for the money we paid.

Attended a friends wedding at the Chairman's Marquee. Venue was lovely, though path from carpark to the marquee could've been better lit. Marquee beautifully decorated, food good, staff polite. Drinks very expensive!

My work had requested a vegan and gluten free plate of food for me at a corporate event. When it came to lunch, nothing had been prepared. When I was eventually given some thing, with only 5mins to eat it, it was some dry bread with just a couple of slices of cucumber, tomato and some of that nasty bitter frizzé lettuce. It was beyond poor for a 4 star resort. I was made to feel like a 2nd class citizen due to issues I have no control over. Unfortunately I have to visit this establishment due to work. I will always take my own food as they are completely inept when it comes to catering for such complex dietry requirements. Poor show Celtic Manor.

After a very traumatic time over the Xmas and new year period I was treated to an over night stay with breakfast here, I was very excited as I just never do things like this, the hotel was nice and so was was the spa, gym and breakfast. So what was the problem I here you asking! At check in my partner was asked would he like any extras charged to the booking card or different card, he wanted to use a different card and a holding deposit was made on that card to cover the mini bar and parking etc. On check out my partner settled all extras on his card or so he thought! A couple of days later I notice the hotel had taken monies out on my card which I had not authorised so I called the hotel and spoke to a guest relations manager (Dawn) who basically spoke down to me made me feel stupid and also implied that my partner had used my card! She would not listen and expected me to know how the hotel booking system worked talking over me at one stage I had to ask her please would she just listen! The payment that the hotel took put my account over drawn something I haven't done before so I was very upset. I contacted my partner and after she had argued with me that my card was the only card they had she then admitted there had been a mistake and they did have the other card!

Staff in the hotel great but reservations and client relations team crap. Unacceptable queues to check in and to get breakfast. Rooms need money spent on them. Looking tired. 3*** hotel. Manky breakfast. But can't deny it is a convenient conference venue. Another visit and an improvement. Still can't recommend it though.

Arrived to find out you have to pay £15 on top of your stay for the car Park by paying almost £200 for a night stay you would think this would be waivered. Food in the olive tree was poor didn't even too proud glasses up with tap water. I asked for fresh cauliflower cheese to go with my carved beef as the cauliflower cheese that was available looked as though it had been there for a week looking all limp wet and brown. To be told it was coming 10 minutes later nothing no sorry from the member of staff. Only to have desert and find that even half hour later after eating my cold food that had been going cold on my plate after waiting for the cauliflower cheese to find that the old stuff was still out and I could have been waiting at least half hour! Mc Donald's would have been much nicer and much cheaper I'm sure. Get to room and it's cold although it should be warm as our thermostat is on max. Rooms dated and dark not all bulbs working Wont recommend this place sorry guys. If you like class stay else where.

The hotel is far more beautiful inside than out, and my wife and I benefitted from the stunning views of our 10th floor room. We visited the Merlin restaurant around mid afternoon which turned out to be the most disappointing part of our stay. There was no service provided to our table initially, so I walked to the bar to alert the staff of where we were sitting (twice). Eventually, someone came and took our small order of 2 Afternoon Cream Tea's. The order came quickly but we had never experienced something so disappointing. We're not complainers and I'm never one to make a scene but it was truly awful. It tasted like the scones and welshcakes had been baked on a meat-soaked oven tray. 30 mins passed with no sign of any staff, so another trip to the bar was required to let them know they were needed. I told them about our experience and they graciously wiped our bill. Dinner was okay in the Olive Tree restaurant but not to the standard I would expected from the Celtic Manor. We retired to our room which was a great experience. Vintage furniture and décor was a nice alternative to the modern comforts of Hilton. The bed was comfortable and we got a good night's rest. The morning started with a visit to the Health Club pool where we relaxed in the Sauna and Jacuzzi and admired the views. After, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast buffet and had our fill. The selection of food was fantastic. A leisurely checkout for 11am was a bonus.

Have to stay here at conferences. Crap hotel. Charged me for mini bar I didn't have. Took 5 emails to get a refund. A common tactic. 25 minute queue to check in. 40 minute queue for breakfast. Threadbare towels. Really. Very expensive food which is average at best and poor value.

Stayed in the signature suite on the 6th floor with my other half for our 1st year anniversary. I loved it, one of the best and most relaxing stays ive had, I would recommend to anyone for a quick getaway. The food at steak on six was perfect, and the staff were great very friendly and caring about your stay. The room was lovely, with a balcony and the chocolates and wine on arrival in the room I made light work of. All in all a great stay definitely a thumbs up.

Had afternoon tea with my wife and an unexpected 4 year old. The staff were fantastic and catered for our 4 year old girl amazingly who loved every minute of it. Thanks Celtic Manor.

Just had lunch in the bar and could be better. Service poor. No one asked whether our meal was good or not. It was poor. The bread with my burger was stale and inedible, the chips were luke warm and to cap it all my teacup was dirty. Come on Celtic Manor. You are a 5 star hotel. This is not good enough.

I stayed here for a work conference back in November 2015. Afterwards, I was charged £19 for items from the mini-bar that I did not have. I have phoned them 3 times, each time I was promised a refund to my credit card within 10 working days. It never appeared. I then submitted a complaint through the website "contact us" form and also wrote a letter, addressed to the manager and sent it by post. I have not received any acknowledgement whatsoever of these 2 things. Still waiting for my £19. The hotel is ok (quite old fashioned). But beware letting them swipe your credit card "for security". Once they take your money, don't expect to get it back!
