Very cold, heating not working in the middle of cold freezing winter night, rooms are very smelly, BED BUG'S are crawling all over me, RATS in the hotel running on the cealling horrible service, disgusting breakfast and very expensive, DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL! There are lots of better and cheaper options in Newport. This place should be closed down to safe others from suffering like a do now! We arrived at this hotel at 6am and had two rooms booked starting at 6am… Had to wait for long time before someone opened the door bicouse reception is open from 3pm.

Great place spotless clean great rooms better than all your normal 2.3. And 4 star hotels.

Clean and tidy did the job for us.

Lacks bed side lamps and adequate arm chair seating in the room. There was no coat hook on the room door. Free Wi-Fi and comfortable clean room were ok but the toilet flusher button was broken. We would have appreciated clear information about local restaurants and bars. Hit chocolate was missing or just not provided. Breakfast was excellent and coffee very drinkable.

For the price and location top marks. Although the TV diddent work but other than that it was perfect for what we needed and it was very cheep £55 for a Saturday night was bang on. Nice staff, very relaxed would stay again.

Decent rooms in my experience but don't bring many clothes as in my experience you will get between 0 and 2 coat hangers, after many times of asking for more they never came.

Budget hotel was ok breakfast included breakfast waitress very helpful.

Freindy helpful staff. The rooms were nice but a change of matress might be a good idea.

Clean room and a decent shower, if check in could take less than 15 minutes the score would be higher.

Room was ok. Wifi non existent. Weak breakfast. Had to chase for days to get a receipt as their printer wasnt working.

It had an en-suite in my room which was very clean, it was a double bed for me on my own, big tele, kettle and iron hair dryer, (the ibis budget up the road didn't) the bad reviews this place got obviously haven't stayed in some of the places I've stayed in, yeah they own two buildings on the road and call it the same hotel so what, all the carpets and room doors looked new, parking is awkward but it's gonna be on a main road in a city, I got my van in safely and I was well comfy after 15 hours at work… the guy on reception just seemed a bit shy to me & I don't need chaperoning to my room!

Basic hotel rooms, popular amongst workers that need a room for a couple of nights. Cleaning is one of the main issues and maintenance would be the second problem. The place is not managed well and things are not addressed immediately.

Thought the hotel was well run excellent food clean modern tidy rooms.
Would definitely stay here again.

Because I am in a room that smells of damp. Still counting sheep even after a long day at work. I wouldn't recommend it or ever stop here again. What is the point of tea and coffee when the room smells. No window to get some fresh air.

Room smelt, bare plaster exposed, holes and mould on curtains. I have never had a worse nights sleep in beds that are only suitable if you are 5ft. The staff barely spoke upon check in and the parking arrangement is ridiculous. The noise coming from the road is constant all night and the room actually vibrated when a train or bus went past. Never again!

Worst kip I have ever stayed in. Place is filthy. Little bugs crawling around on breakfast table. Rooms are dirty, room was tiny. Staff not the most helpful. My advice is Dont Stay Here!

I arrived quite late on 15 april they offered me a twin room but the receptionist said it was at the front so might be a bit noisy however he gave me single room at the back which was perfect the room itself was perfect. Will definitely stay again when I'm in the area. Thanks.

Small rooms that are too cramped, room smells really bad, most the lights didn't work, dirty walls, plaster on wall from where there had obviously been a hole in the paper thin wall which had then been plastered in and left like that! Crack on another wall, no shower curtain just a rail but not that I would dare use the shower anyway as the whole room felt dirty and disgusting! Only 1 glass and no soap, bare electric cables hanging out of the wall! Possibly live?! Guy on reception was dull rude, some friendly polite customer service wouldn't go a miss! We booked a double room but when we checked in they said they made a mistake and there is no room so they dumped us in a tein room out the back! Thought this was a good price for breakfast included but no way not after I compared the misleading online photos to the trashy reality! Didn't even have the breakfast as the hotel put me off! When we went to checkout the next day we couldn't even get into the entrance as they keep it locked and there was no one on reception at 11:30am to let us in so we posted key through letterbox and drove off. Good riddance gateway! Wouldn't ever stay here again I don't know how they have any buisness.

Small rooms. Smaller bathrooms. Microscopic meals. Worst of all it stinks.
