Our stay at the Marriot was amazing, our girls loved their first stay with you. I have been before but this time took my daugthers. The staff went above expectations with requests made for my youngest daugther and made them both feel at home. The pool is amazing, clean and just perfect for the kids. The rooms were clean, beds were comfy and the family room was the perfect size. The food in San carlo and hotel restaurant was delicous, the staff all round were friendly, helpful, always smiling and were there for us when needed help or advise. Highly reccomend and look forward to seeing you all in the near future. Our daugthers are already planning their next visit.

Hotel nice staff really helpful but breakfast absolutely awful food cold and tasteless man on desk for breakfast check in rudest person I have ever met will not be returning.

Despite no information on the booking confirmation through Bonvoy and in the app on a particular quirk in policy by Marriott. We didn't arrive because of the Spanish lockdown. We had paid with my loyalty points. The hotel refunded my loyalty points and stole £109 out of my bank account utterly disgraceful. Spoke to iris on the phone who was rude unhelpful and put the phone down on me. Shocking behaviour considering there are huge bail out for hospitality coming because of covid-19 outbreak from the treasury. Marriott see fit to grab money out of my account as well no offer of a refund no contact from management terrible service, punishing the people that have the least.

This hotel is a class above the others. We came here to visit my mum and have enjoyed our stay here thoroughly. It’s very relaxing and the atmosphere is amazing. As a family we obviously wanted to use the pool and other facilities and we found it very clean and the pool was so warm and lovely. My 3 year old didn’t get cold like in other pools where they are freezing so he really did love it. The rooms are very big and it also has a bath as well as a shower which is always a bonus. Lots of boiling hot water. The breakfasts are good also as they have a buffet full English (the sausages are amazing mmmm) and also an al a carte so you can order omelettes or eggs el grande which is what I went for. Tonight we are dining on the Italian restaurant which is on site here. Can’t wait!

Only staying one night before flying to Orlando, great place. Booked a 1bed plus sofa bed room for 3 adults but been upgraded to a mini suite with 2 king size beds and sitting area. Room 2001.

No store for newspapers or a snack or drink. Very limited menu at restaurants can’t just get toast and tea for breakfast it’s either a buffet or full breakfast. No coffee shop. Restaurants are not affiliated with the hotel although you can charge to room. Needs a coffee shop and a store. Nice staff though.

Very nice hotel — the room was fantastic! Airport shuttle was great! We were able to reserve a time slot the night before (when we checked in) which guaranteed us a spot at 730am. The breakfast was good — only downside was we requested breakfast to be delivered at 630 to our room (as breakfast doesn't start until 7am). Breakfast never came so we went down around 7 to check out and get breakfast. A little rushed to eat but staff were apologetic and removed the charge from my room for delivery! Definitely would recommend staying here! Staff were helpful and friendly!

Had a very disappointing experience at the Spa today — the first time I made an appointment and arrived at the Spa I was told they were having a training day and due to sickness there was no-one able to do the treatments I had booked for but they hadn’t got my number on their system so had been unable to call me to tell me! Today I went back for my treatments. The pedicure was perfunctory to say the least and I was left in the chair afterwards without being told that there was a relaxation area with comfy beds round the corner just yards away from where I was sitting! 20 mins or so later I had a very relaxing massage but when I was escorted back to the relaxation area, I discovered that my nail polish had all smeared as a result of me being face down on the massage table. The nail technician was summoned but decided that rather than taking it all off and re-applying, she would just put another coat on top! I should have insisted she take it off and start again but to be honest I couldn’t be bothered. This was at 2.30 pm. I had open toed sandals on until 7 pm when I went to play tennis. Upon removing my socks tonight at 10 pm, my toe nails were stuck to my socks and the nail polish is smeared and has been come off in places! I can’t believe how bad my toe nails now look and I shall be demanding a refund. Although both girls were very pleasant, I would not recommend the spa area at all.

Well I won’t be booking the Marriott Hotel Spa again. This is the 2nd time they have cancelled on me for a spa day and the same reason of “short staff due to sickness”. How absolutely shocking. What a way to ruin a birthday was so looking forward to it. Last time they cancelled it was a few days before my wedding and it took 3 months to reschedule. I’ll make sure I’ll tell people to avoid. I’m so disappointed.

We had our works do here the room was great decorated lovely the hot buffet was really nice and plenty of it. The waiters were so friendly tables cleared quickly great venue.

Great for early flights. Decent prices for rooms and parking. Food is overpriced in my opinion. Watch out for the little extras they add without telling you that's it's gonna cost. I love the fact that your car stays where you park it and you don't leave your keys.

I stayed there for one night on August 2nd before flying to NY in the morning. The room was nice and clean and the reception staff was wonderful. The problem I had was that the AC was not working and it was a warm night in Manchester. After complaining twice to reception, they were able to bring us a small fan at 2:00AM which worked well untill morning.

Really nice pool to have a relax and play in — staff very friendly too! Have been visiting for 8 years now and have not had a single bad experience! Come on down if you would like to be satisfied.

South Wales coach party and we have have stayed on numerous occasions and found it generally acceptable however on this occasion was disappointed. Firstly the price if drinks was extortionate; secondly for our evening meal we were placed in a conference room with no laid tables, the room was cold and when the meal eventually did arrive it was cold and with little choice and quality of food was very poor. First time we felt like second class guests.

Absolute worse hotel ever if I could put pics on here I would put us in a room that wasn’t even cleaned then put us in a I bed room bearing in mind there was two adults two kids customer service none existent the staff weren’t bothered didn’t get to stay to see anything else got our money back and left thanks for spoiling the start of our holiday if to stay in the premier in now.

Excellent hotel near to the airport. Very clean large room and bathroom with fluffy white towels. Comfortable bed with great pillows and soft sheets and duvet. Staff helpful and polite made you feel welcome. Restaurant undergoing refurbishment so did not use. A very nice place to spend a night before or after travel and will definately use again.

The Manchester Airport Marriott location is currently going through major renovations. The rooms are small but clean and I could not hear any construction noise in my room. The staff was kind and helpful. Renovations are not their fault. But to get to the rooms you have to be a good navigator. Winding hallways, up stairs, down a hall, down stairs… The restaurant is moved to a conference room in the back of the hotel. Difficult to find it and more difficult to get served food or drink. They seemed under staffed or overwhelmed. After 39 minutes of the sever not visiting our table to take orders we left and ate in the Italian restaurant around the side of the hotel. The Italian restaurant was wonderful. I highly recommend it. The gym was even more difficult to find than the restaurant. But the gym was huge! A really nice gym and tons of space and exervise equipment. I travel for work and it was 20x bigger than any hotel gym I've ever seen. There is a high end neighborhood on Hale Road. An eight to ten minute walk will find a small town area with shops and a grocery store. The walk has lovely large homes.

Struggled to walk round this place as need to use a walking stick. No refreshments, toilets or seating anywhere near reception. No lift in areas we used for meeting so faced with up and down two lots stairs and a maze of corridors twice to access toilets in conference / leisure area at other end of building. Staff either didn't understand or care about walking problems. Maybe facilities will improve once work is done but doubt staff attitude will.

What a dump! The hotel was under renovation without any mentioning of it in advance on their website. It resulted in a huge mess with loads of noice from early morning on, facilities closed or moved to temporary grounds. Restaurant served very basic meals not fit for 4*, none of the options were veggie. There were no shops anywhere near either! After complaining several times we were finally told that the hotel also had an Italian restaurant, but we were only able to get to it from outside at the moment. However rooms were clean and spa was nice once you were able to find it.

Hotel covers a huge area and family rooms are furthest away and have several steps on route. Great if you don't have walking difficulties. If you do, seek a room closer to the reception area. Main upset here was we left a costume hanging in ourcroom bathroom but when we notified reception no costume had been handed in by the maids. My refurbished room was excellent and the independant Italian restaurant on site is a must.

I use the leisure centre here, not often enough some might say :). The facilities are great with one loud the best leisure club swimming pools in the area. The gym is extensive with every type of machine you could want and there are a good range of classes and personal trainers. The only slight grumbles are that there could be more evening classes and towels could be provided free of charge (at the moment your have to pay extra for them).

Hotel with everything you need.

A very pleasant hotel with well appointed rooms. We made a few last minute changes and the reception staff were extremely helpful. Breakfast is a full buffet with a large choice of freshly cooked items. Our room was spotless. Disabled parking is available, and disabled access to some rooms was easy. Wifi is available and easy to connect to. Highly recommended, and great value for money.

I stayed here for two nights from 23/02/18 I was overly disappointed in my stay here. The price did not match the expectations and therefore I feel I could have got better for my money elsewhere. When I checked in the man at reception was quite rude and I was very shocked that you had to pay for parking which was £11 a night and Wi-Fi which was £15 a day. I have never known a hotel to charge for both of this so that was a shock and a disappointment as this was not stated when I booked. The hotel room when I checked only had one small towel to which I had to ask for more and the room was advertised as a double deluxe, don't be fooled there is nothing deluxe about the room, it looks like a standard Premier Inn which would have been a lot cheaper than here. The only enjoyment I had at this hotel was the pool area it is lovely, very relaxing big pool with a sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi. The spa looks lovely too but unfortunately I did not book due to me having spent on other things that I was billed on (Wifi and Parking). I will not be staying here again, I would only come next time to use the pool only. Very disappointed Marriott hotel : (

My mum, sister and I had a lovely stay and the Marriott hotel Manchester airport. The only thing I have to say negative is there was a problem with the boiler on our first day and that meant the jacuzzi was freezing, the pool was colder than normal and the pool area was very cold. We went for a swim but it was too cold. That was a bit upsetting as it was a special weekend for my 50th birthday! Bad timing for us!
The staff are very friendly, attentive and professional.
I thoroughly recommend the spa treatment as the girls there are really lovely and we had some fantastic treatments done.
The staff at the leisure are also extremely friendly and helpful too.
I will definitely be coming back again. Thankyou.

Good hotel. Huge place. Food was excellent in the bar. Great place to stay before flying the next day. Left our car in the car park for the 10 days & hotel organised a taxi to the airport. Staying again in May before our America trip.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Marriot Hale Barns for a number of weeks between at the end of November and into December 2017, in a junior suite. The size of the room was excellent although bathroom was across the living area from the bedroom, so not very convenient. However, the staff were all extremely friendly, especially Joey on the front desk, Katya in the Executive lounge and all the housekeeping staff who looked after us. I spoke to a number of residents whilst there and many of them were repeat visitors and impressed with the staff. I also overheard someone on the train who was staying there over Christmas saying they were there because of staff service. I would highly recommend the hotel.

Spa treatments (back massage and facial) very good. Pool area good although air temperature a bit cool and showers not hot. Got good value for money spa package.

Nice hotel. The person at the front desk was great and got us checked in early we no extra cost. They have a good spa attached to the hotel which has steam room, jacuzzi and reasonable size swimming room. Rooms are a bit dated though and seems impossible to turn the radiator off in our room.

I attended a conference recently in the hotel itself. The room and the facilities were of a high standard. The room is good as were the acoustics. I also had the opportunity to use the well positioned Starbucks in the reception area. This of course is busy with people holding meetings with others who have traveled into Manchester. However it doesn’t feel overwhelming. Certainly a very good location.

We only stayed four hours but it was relatively easy to find! The staff were quite cordial, pleasant, helpful, polite and prompt with the Wake up call. We did not eat there due to our time constraints they called for our taxi gave us a number the taxi arrived, the driver called out our number and that was it within minutes, five to be precise we were at the airport. The parking for the Marriott hotel is not at the hotel! It is at the skypark which is a few miles away! Google maps had us turn in at a gated building before it, this had a bell you had to press but they were polite and informed us that it was the next building on!

Excellent staff and very nice short stay. The only issue for us was travel costs; there is no Airport Shuttle service. They do have an arrangement with a local taxi company which reduces the cost of a trip to the airport to £7 instead of the usual £9 but this needs to be factored into the room cost. The San Carlo restaurant which can be reached easily indoors along a corridor serves very good Italian food, in very comfortable surroundings. A good tip is to use the room service option for breakfast. Breakfast is delivered to your room at your chosen time which serves as both an alarm call to make sure you don't oversleep when there is a plane to catch, and saves the long trek to the restaurant and waiting to be served there. All for a modest 'tray charge' which we didn't even notice on the bill!

Lovely reception staff great food. Rooms are clean stylish and comfy. Staff on bar were good but we had a long waiting time to get drinks, perhaps need a few more staff on. I had a glass of malbec, it was nice but the £12+ price tag for a large glass was excessive. I should have checked the wine list I know, but it would have been helpful for the staff to point that out.

O my go to the gym. Well the husband and kids do. Really friendly and nice staff. Generally Marriott is very nice and pleasant to go to. We wouldn't go to any other gum in Hale.

Went to the Marriott for my 7 month old's swimming lesson. The staff were brilliant and very friendly, and the place itself was really pleasant. Would definitely stay there!

Room was very big and nice and clean. Bed was very comfortable. Pool and spa facilities were really good.

Really enjoyed our stay — it was our wedding night and the staff went above and beyond to make our room extra special. The breakfast was delicious with lots of choice and the staff were friendly, helpful and polite.

Cozy and quiet place.

Hotel was used for a stay before heading off from Manchester airport. Was able to leave my car there for the duration of the trip and taxi transfers were included. The room was comfortable and the service at the bar was good too.

Check-in was efficient, room was perfect for a quick stopover. Staff were really helpful in setting up a cot. I used the park and fly for 8 nights which was great.

Disappointed. Rooms were fine, facilities were fine and it's convenient for the airport but don't rely on the early alarm call or the transfer taxi to be on time. We complained and promised an upgrade on next visit to make it right but then our email to book wasn't answered. They have too much competition to get it wrong.

An absolutely fabulous example of the Marriott brand. The staff are all amazing and extremely polite. Some corridors are a bit maze-like because rooms are numbered in blocks. Currently undergoing major refurbishment, the room we had was recently renovated and is beautiful.

Excellent Hotel, very comfortable rooms and the beds are very comfortable, the best sleep I've had. It's a very well run hotel close to the airport, taxi fare is about £7.00 to the airport which they arrange. The restaurant is nice, great food to choose from, which is an additional cost. The breakfast if choosen is very nice, just what you need before an early start. This hotel is very well run, reception staff are polite and curtious and take care of things to make your journey easier. I highly recommend this hotel to stay at and it's well worth thinking about staying at if you need a lovely hotel close to the airport whether your travelling by plane, visiting Manchester or passing through, Brilliant service.

Great hotel. We stayed at the hotel using their park and fly offer. Used this hotel several times before, prior to a holiday and just for a night away. It really is a great hotel, friendly staff, nice rooms, good facilities.

The hotel was lovely, reception very helpful and friendly. The rooms were very nice, comfy beds and the leisure facilities were superb. What let it down was that Carlo's restaurant was fully booked as it was Saturday night, so as we had eaten at Rompers a 2 minute drive down the road, wanted pizzas. We had 9 in our party, so ordered 4 pizzas, but the bases were extremely thick and had equivalent of cheese on top. The majority of which wasn't eaten. They kindly did not charge us for the pizzas.
At breakfast we were given 2 tables side be side so that our group could sit together and the breakfast was excellent, freshly cooked and plenty of choices. We will definitely go there again.

We arrived just before 5 p. M. Hoping to have a nice plunge in the pool and a relax in the jacuzzi before dinner. No such luck, as it was New Year's Day and the pool closed at 6 p. M. We had an upgraded excecutive room (as I am a platinum card holder) on the ground floor level, but very disappointed that the room didn't have a fridge, and very surprised when having a shower that there was no rubber mat in the bath. Having a shower meant having to hold on to the bath bar at the same time as trying to wash my hair, not something I expect in an excecutive room. Also, the public rooms were freezing cold, I would guess no more than 15 degrees, this includes the excecutive lounge, which was just too cold to stay in (we tried for 10 minutes, but just had to leave) and the coffee machine didn't work either… If you are trying to save money by putting down the temperature on a cold winter's day, Marriott managment, I think it is a poor priority! Also there was not one single pen in our bedroom — is this another way you are trying to save money? On the positive side, the Polish receptionist upon arrival was very accomodating, room service was good and the staff at the breakfast restaurant gave us wonderful service! I'm so happy with Marriott in general, so putting this one down to several cases of bad luck… I hope…

We stayed here for one night prior to catching a very early flight. Booked alarm call did not happen and the taxi we booked did not turn up as hotel did not arrange as requested. Stressful start to our holiday! Hotel itself is fine but our experience marred by this poor service.

We attended for a wedding. Lovely venue but only 2 staff on the bar with 28 people waiting. Not great.

The guest rooms are wonderful with comfortable beds and plenty of space with wonderful front desk staff! I ordered the Steak Caesar Salad and the steak arrived extremely bloody and the croutons were soaked in the blood from the raw steak. The blood spread all over the cheese and lettuce dominating the dish. The Steak strips also smelled rotten. I requested a Chicken Caesar Salad and it was sub par. Moral of the story… Do NOT ever order the Steak Caesar Salad and if you do ask for the blood on the side.

We stayed over after a friends wedding day and enjoyed our stay. The only thing that let it down was the hairdryer in the room not working.

New air conditioning in the room I was in, free Internet access as well. The hotel is comfortable and the room service food is very good. The tray charge for delivery is a bit excessive now. Very comfortable bed, quiet rooms with black out curtains. Well maintained bathroom. In all a very good hotel, I stay here quite a lot.

We use the hotel pool for our daughters swimming lessons. Facilities are lovely and the staff are very helpful.

I so wanted to give this hotel 5 stars! I will explain why I only gave it 4. Wish I could do 4.5. Oh well. Customer service is GREAT! Everyone who I came in contact with here was friendly and helpful. Rooms are EXCELLENT! Nice furniture, nice bathroom. Modern television. Cool carpet. Comfortable. The facility in general, is above average. Biggest flaw and why I rated the hotel a 4.5 is that despite the hotel's name, it's not super accessible to the airport unless you have a car or use a taxi. I believe there should be shuttle service, but there is not. Google Maps says it is a 45m walk from the Manchester Airport Train Station… Grr! I used a taxi which should cost £7 each direction. Not super expensive… But… I feel "nickled and dimed" because of this. In other words… Spending small amounts here and there on *REQUIRED* things which can add up. Taxi driver said that the walk from the airport to the hotel should have sidewalks the entire way. But still… With dragging luggage with you, it might not be so fun. I haven't tried it… but thought that may be useful information to someone thinking of booking a room here to know. Especially if you are like me and wanted to hop on the train and hang out in the city for a bit and then come back to the hotel. I'd recommend a stay here… Just keep that transportation information in mind. The staff are EXCELLENT. The room and property are EXCELLENT.

The last time I stayed here the place was a construction site due to a remodel. This time the remodel is done, and it looks great but lots of issues with the bathroom and the internet, and the staff could not be less helpful. Luckily the bar is great — you need it. I will never stay here again. As a matter of fact, if I can avoid Marriott the rest of my travel days, I'd be happy. I average one week a month in a hotel, and this past year has not been good for Marriott. They can keep their rewards program.

We stayed at this hotel because it was close to the airport and we just needed to sleep and leave again. We were a bit worried the airport would be loud, but we didn't hear it at all. The bed was comfortable, the staff was friendly and helpful when needed.

Worse hotel I stayed ever, and for Marriott for that matter, I even paid for a suite with lounge access. Lounge isn't open on Saturdays and limited hours on Sundays, the lounge was dirty. Bad mobile phone reception through out every corner of the hotel. Breakfast quality poor. Slow service from staff. I left my jewellery behind by accident (I do blame myself for that), when I rang to enquire, they said there was nothing left behind, hmm… not is so not true as other guest with me also am sure I left behind. I stayed in Heathrow Marriott by Slough twice, huge difference, better food quality, prompt service from smiling staff all the time, and I paid less than half of what I paid in Manchester for same space in standard room! And this is an airport hotel for Marriott for that matter. I would actually recommend Radisson Blu Manchester Airport in stead, for a bit more price for the business room, and the lounge is more like airline lounge.

Internet (Wi-Fi) is pathetic in room even though you pay for it.

Worst hotel I ever slept in. 140 GBP the night and an extra of 8 GBP parking. Facilities is really old and the whole building feels like a labyrinth. No chance getting any food before 6 AM. Never again.

What a joke, how the hell did Marriot agree to put their name on the outside of this building. Reception is filled with cigarette smoke as people stand right outside the door smoking. Staff have no idea how to make you feel welcome, they talk to you as they are a robot. They are only interested in charging you as much as they can for anything and everything. The hotel is filthy, litter everywhere, along the hallways, in the lounge are bar area. The rooms have virtually no soundproofing, are in very poor condition and my bathroom was covered in black mould. People running around the hotel until 5am and front desk unwilling to do anything about I fear of getting into violent situation. When questioned the reply was welcome to a UK hotel on a Saturday night. Dont waste your money there are lots of better hotels close to the airport that will guarantee you have a good nights sleep.

Pathetic. I called from India on the night of October 11th 2014 at 0138 hrs. After 38 seconds, phone was picked up and I was asked to press 1 for operator assistance and after 98 seconds, another voice came asking to dial ext no or press 0 for operator assistance and than after 143 seconds I was advised to call back later. Very good business and flight crew hotel, close proximity to airport and easy motorway access make it very convenient. Room layout is a bit of a maze but better signage will help, great staff especially in the Executive Lounge, Reception and bar areas — thanks everyone.

The staff make this hotel. They are very warm and friendly, but are normal in a non corporate kind. The Wi-Fi is good and the rooms comfortable. The car parking is also very secure, which is appreciated.

On the whole the massage was good. My gripe is with the fact that they decided to charge me more for the full body massage than what I had been led to believe. The response I received was 'its on our sheet'! I was not told this when I called to make arrangements for the appointment nor was I corrected when I asked if I could pay the advertised amount! The sheet was not provided when booking through Living Social and the thing I am most annoyed about is that I was promised a call from the manager, Laura to discuss my concerns to which I am still waiting for! I have chased them twice and feel that I have been fobbed off. Although the massage was good, I do not think I will be returning.
