Beautiful room and very British pub. Perfect for stopping if you arrive late in the evening at Manchester Airport.

Lovely room, great food and live music as well. Well worth spending the night rather than a silly o'clock start for the airport. £3 a night if you want to leave your car whilst you're away and around £10 for a taxi to the airport which is 10 minutes away.

Excellent food and large garden area for the kids. Nice cocktails too.

Great atmosphere, relaxing place for a few beers, great beers on that note, I've met some really nice people there including management and the staff, good allround.

The Bulls Head, is a nice pub, with a huge beer garden and great food and beer. As a Robinson's pub the session beer is Unicorn, which I enjoy but there is also a full range of the popular bottled beers and ciders as well as other Robinson's cask ales. It's a very heavily planted beer garden, so you really feel like you are in a garden. It's also a popular place to stay for those looking to explore the area, though I have no idea what the rooms are like. Locals are always in here and I can confirm that the food, though not cheap, is very good. Its definitely a venue if you were looking to go out for an evening meal.

Went for a birthday party and had the upstairs room and food. Great area for a private party and you also get access to the outside area via your own steps. Only downside was having to go down to the bar each time for a drink and slightly slow service. Otherwise, all great.

Sunday afternoon 25th Feb 2018 4:50pm the place was empty. Was told it was fully booked and could not do a table for 4. Won't be wasting my time returning. Felt embarrassed for them saying that. Im not joking it was empty. They'd be better off being honest and saying tons of space but not staff to serve (for whatever reason) Beyond poor situation. Beyond poor excuse.

Oldest pub in England — we stayed a night at the pub. Amazing stay. Lovely spot, close to everything. Staff were happy to make your stay the best experience. Great gin and tonics, food amazing.

Large-ish village style pub. Friendly welcome with nicely presented, tasty meals. Fairly standard pub food on offer. Mid priced. Overall I would return. Probably if eating it would be to try their 3 for £10 "small plates".

The Bulls Head in Hale Barns is hugely expensive and the food/service is dreadful. We will not be going again, and wont be recommending it to anyone!

Food was very nice and staff very friendly I really enjoy my experience and would definitely visit again live music also on a Thursday which was a nice addition to the meal.

Amazing place! Amazing food and service! Just hired the private room here for my partner's birthday and everyone went well out of their way to make sure everything went smoothly and to keep the surprise. Excellent service would definitely recommend for any special occasion or surprise! Oh and the pies are delicious.

We went for a lunch on recommendation but what a total let down. The waiter was attentive, friendly and extremely warm and helpful but that's where it ended. I can only assume that there was a cook on duty, not a chef, as the food reflected it. The servings were generous but certainly not spectacular to reflect the prices. I ordered pate but very overpriced at £7. My mum had very watery, tasteless, over salted soup. Mains were worse, I had the curry, albeit piping hot, was bland and lacked anything exciting. My mum had the cod, but she chose to have new potatoes instead of chips. There were 8 large potatoes on the plate, an extra large serving for an 84 year old lady. The peas were exceptionally salty, which she left. We ordered a plain ice cream desert, which was the best of all the courses; delicious. We would never go at lunchtime again, but we thank the waiter for his attentiveness, 10/10

Nice pub with nice outside area. Had a couple of drinks here after a wedding at the church over the road. Beer selection could have been better but overall a good experience and would definitely go back again.

We stayed here overnight before taking an early flight out of Manchester Airport. It is ideally located within easy reach of the airport and has adequate facilities for an overnight stay. The room we had was nothing special, but had the basics. It was located on the 1st floor, but there was no lift so it was a good job one of us was strong enough to lug several heavy cases up the stairs. The bar/restaurant area was pleasant enough and cooked breakfast was nice enough, albeit nothing special.

Went for lunch with my Mum. The food was poor and overpriced. Mum's chips were supposed to be "thrice cooked", I think they forgot two if the processes because they were pale and soggy. I ordered a salad of grilled asparagus. When it came I thought I had ordered a starter! I don't call a small bowl of leaves with 5 halves of cherry tomatoes, 5 sticks of asparagus (not a grill mark on them), a tiny poached egg (stone cold) and a few parmasan shavings a main course salad. The best bit was the coffee, at least it was a decent cup size. If you want a proper meal go to the cafe on the corner!

Went with family for dinner. Was quite hopeful as they had recently renovated. The food was very bland the menu very limited. The curry advertised as hot was less than mild. I had a teaser salad with rump steak extra. What I got was a bowl of salad with a smidgen of ceased dressing and cut up Luke warm bits if rump steak overdone rested on top. Disgraceful. A lemonade tasted awful so queried with sat. They said nothing wrong with it. End of story. Awful place awful service will not be going back.

The Hotel was nice, however the fire alarms went off three times in one night due to kids messing with a e — cig. No real complaints about the hotel however the restaurant is a completely different story. The staff didn't acknowledge us, our tables wasn't cleaned. Every table except ours had waitress / waiter service. When we did order our food we were given no cutlery. In the morning for for breakfast there were no staff around, I knocked on the kitchen door several times and shouted twice. When I was acknowledged it wasn't particularly nice. I felt more of a hassle than a guest and there was no apology for the delay or poor quality of service. Would not recommend this restaurant but did like the hotel.

Fabulous refurbishment from Robinsons Brewery. Brilliant food and beer garden along with an extensive range of drinks. I cant fault the pub at all! Will definitely be back.

Definitely not impressed with the NEW Bulls Head. The decor is nice, although I'm not sure what boats on the ceiling is all about. However, the food was very below par. I had the cheese pie which was burnt on top and consisted of watery, cheese and leeks inside. My sister had the trio of fish and was hard pushed to find any fish amongst the batter. My brother & sister-in-law also visited on a separate occasion and they too were unimpressed. The pub, which we frequented often, used to have a nice friendly vibe and you could just pop in for a very tasty meal cooked by the chef Scott. Now there is an air of pretension and a feeling of snobbishness about the place. As soon as you walk in, the head waitress stops you from going any further until she has ascertained whether you have booked. We hadn't and it became a farce of 'well we are very busy, let me see if we can fit you in'. We were 'fit in', right by the back doors which were constantly opening and closing by patrons and staff taking food outside. It was a very memorable visit, but for the wrong reasons.

Had a fantastic May Bank Holiday at the Bulls Head, very clean and fresh, the staff were sublime and the Sunday carvery was second to none.

Enjoyed a lovely carvery, that was piled high! Unfortunately carvery was all they had on, no sandwiches or alike. We were only looking for lunch but very nice anyway.

I came over to watch the football match and stayed for the food. The food (fish and chips off course) was a typical pub fair, but tastey. The service was formal but efficient. The Unicorn beer was good. Surprisingly the cost was over 20 BP, a bit expensive. Overall its a fun place to watch sports and beer.

First class fireworks display ever year, and all for the price of a pint. Very family friendly. Eat elsewhere. Decor hasn't changed in about 432 years.

Staying at premier inn and decided to go out for dinner. We read other reviews and decided to try this pub. Lovely old wood features inside and tables outside in the sun on the grass (where I am right now! ). Service was quick and friendly, steak baguette was wonderful, three of us had them. Generous steak, lovely sauce. Our son enjoyed his chicken and Bacon on white bloomer. Service was quick. We'd definitely come back here if we travel this way again. We benefited from other reviews so we felt we owe it to the people who wrote them to give ours. Hopefully you find it useful.

Having just landed at Manchester airport from our holiday, we wanted good, simple, value pub grub. I asked Google what was in the area and the Bulls Head already had good reviews. It looks and feels very ye olde worlde inside and out. Dark decor and typical country pub trinkets around. The food is reasonably priced — sandwiches £4-7, mains £5-9 plus others. We were expecting reasonable quality but our haddock and chips and belly pork with mash were excellent, surpassing expectations! Staff friendly and polite and agreed to serve us literally 5 min before finishing food for the day. Definitely recommend for anyone in the area looking for excellent quality pub grub at a reasonable price.
