Had a great overnight stay here. Enjoyed a swim & sauna in the lovely leisure centre. The room was very clean comfortable and warm. Breakfast was self service but lots of nice food, and helpful staff throughout. I would recommend this hotel.

What a lovely place to stay. The staff are all so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. We had a meal in the bar last night and it was the best meal we have had in a very long time, plus the breakfast this morning was plentiful and once again all staff were attentive and welcoming. Would definitely stay here again. Our room was clean and very pleasant although a bit dated it by no means alters our recommendations for this hotel.

Our favourite place for Sunday lunch. Unashamedly traditional with starters such as prawn cocktail and all the roasts with every possible accompaniment. And a sweet trolley (in non Covid times)! And the staff and service is so friendly and perfect. This place can’t be beaten.

We stayed here from 20/22 feb 2020 had a lovely stay happy with room and breakfast provided a choice staff were helpful and friendly would recommend and stay again x.

This hotel is in need of a serious upgrade! And the amount of money they charge when the spring and autumn fair is on at the NEC is absolute disgrace!
The only reason we use this hotel is because the staff go above and beyond to make you feel welcome thank you to all staff at breakfast especially Shelia and Jane and the rest of the girls also David in the main restaurant who also makes you feel very welcome!
Please please upgrade this hotel that’s been 8 years now and still not been upgraded.

Had our Christmas night out with work and it was a fantastic night. The food was of a really high standard and the cheesecake was phenomenal. Lots of fun and dancing after too. A great Christmas night out.

Cannot fault this hotel staff lovely especially at breakfast in the restaurant, facilities good and room clean. Slept well no noise or hard mattress and bath runs nice and deep.

Love it here for Sunday lunch. Lovely traditional silver service lunch served in a beautiful dining room. Easy parking, nice bar area to sit and have a drink, and a really reasonable price. Smartly dressed staff who are really attentive. Will keep coming back.

Lovely hotel with a sense of uniqueness about it. You can tell its not a chain as staff actually care about you and service is great. Quirky in a good way. Would definitely recommend as near to NEC and airport. We had a night stay and a weeks parking.

L recently stayed there for HOYS food and staff were very good but oh dear my bed was broken and l slept in a chair! l have phoned, emailed the manager and have been ignored so l am putting it on Facebook. Disgusted. L have also told Grandstand Media and will never book the M|&M Package again as nobody has come back to me. Take my money and ignore me,

This hotel has certainly seen better days. The staff are really friendly & helpful, the bar has a good selection and is reasonably priced. The food looked good but we didn't eat here. The room I stayed in was very disappointing, a simple coat of paint would do wonders. The final disappointment was the 'shower' in the morning.

I think there was a time where The Arden was really nice and opulence was abound, but sadly that has not been for a while. The rooms are average, but I have probably had nicer rooms at an Ibis or somewhere similar. Admittedly, you do get access to the pool and gym but that's only good if you have the time and inclination to use them. For what it is, I'd say The Arden is quite overpriced.

Great staff. Can't remember staying in such a friendly hotel. Staff were extremely helpful, efficient and kind. Thank you. We ate at the hotel and enjoyed the evening menu and would recommend eating here even if you aren't sleeping. Breakfast was excellent with great coffee. Slept very well. The rooms would definitely benefit from some tlc.

Dined here last night for a family meal with my partner and his family, I was very nervous as I had an engagement ring to propose to my partner and no idea how I was going to do it. After a chat with the lovely girl at the bar she arranged along with the waitresses and manager to have a plate saying “Turn Around” served to my partner and I’d be behind him on one knee with the ring. I’m so happy to say that it went very well and he said yes Big thank you to the Arden and all the staff, you have went above and beyond for us and I will always be greatful. Ps the food was amazing too Steak Diane cooked infront of us was out of this world, can’t wait to come back A massive thank you from my Fiancé and I x.

Great for an overnight stay before flying out the next day. Good menu at the bar, friendly staff and the room was clean and comfortable. Bathroom was a bit tired looking though.

Great stay here over a weekend for the Be Courageous convention round the corner at the Genting Arena. Lovely three course meal in the restaurant. Nice clean rooms, quiet. Comfortable bed. Nice, friendly staff.

This is a very large hotel on outskirts of Birmingham and very close to airport. It has a restaurant which is a bit pricey but food in the large bar area and patio is a reasonable cost and has a fair amount of choice. The rooms are as you would expect in a modern hotel and the swimming pool was a real bonus. There is also a large car park. Only drawbacks, no access to public transport so we had to face the traffic jams into the city everyday and we had to keep renewing the car park ticket as ours ran out every day and we had to call reception to get in through barrier. I would be very happy to stay there again but Birmingham would benefit from a park and ride.

Booked a non-smoking double in March. Arrived in August to find they only had smoking rooms. Reception staff offered no alternative until I asked for a twin room. The room was clean but the beds were small and uncomfortable with no air-con or even a fan. This resulted in a hot and sleepless night. We were given a complimentary breakfast which was fine except the dining room was also uncomfortably hot. On checking out staff forgot to validate our parking so we couldn't get out of the car-park and had to go back in and resolve this. Very poor value for money but close and convenient for the Genting Arena.

Overall a nice place. Few little niggles. Room smelt fusty as if there had been a leak. Dining room needs better arrangement. Guests being allocated tables that were already taken. Staff were friendly and happy to help.

Hotel needs a major revamp! Mattress was completely worn down, so much so that one can feel the springs! Was here for a conference but had terrible sleep because of the mattress, so really didn't enjoy my stay. After a long day at the conference, coming back to this hotel was not something I was looking forward to. Bathroom sink tap was loose and falling all over the place. Thankfully I only for stayed two nights so can't comment on restaurant or food. Room had enough room to manoeuvre, not somewhere you would want to spend the whole day, the bed will break your back!

Stayed here may 2018. Aid a lot of money to stay in superior king. Including breakfast. Food was medioka. Paid £9 for bangers and mash. Food came out and was instant mash with a splash of gravy! Would of paid £4. Chicken was thin and dry won't come back.

Driving to the hotel is absolutely fine, walking from Birmingham International is not ideal. I cannot speak of the accommodation having used only the meeting/conference facilities. The main areas are reflective of the price. Food seemed basic, but fair. Staff are attentive and gave a good welcome. Car parking is sufficient with plenty of overflow parking.

Attended a Virgin fear of flying course at the hotel. Was well located from the airport (only a five minute drive). The conference room was well lit and comfortable. A delicious cooked lunch was also provided. Would recommend for business conference use.

Long wait to check in, rooms very dated, mattresses feel like they need replacing. Ate from the bar menu and was reasonably priced. Excellent location for Birmingham International (within 10 minute walk).

Arrived at the hotel late due to my flight being cancelled. First impressions seemed to be good well mannered lady at reception, everything explained well. I was given a family room as I had my two young children with me. Unfortunately my room was on the first floor and what felt like a life time away from the Reception through 2 sets of heavy doors. (not easy when u have a pram, child and baggage) and I'm guessing not alot people never visit or cleaners clean. The room was so small I couldn't even fit the pram in. Our room was dirty and sheets smelt like damp, the shower was leaking and was loud when I addressed issues with reception they looked disinterested. On arrive for breakfast early the staff where to busy chatting with one an other to get even say good morning, when they eventually did and we got a highchair I had to go and ask for a cloth (blue roll) to clean it as it was dirty. To top of the lack of customer service I contacted the hotel to complain the day after my stay and they didn't bother responding to me. Due to the lack of customer service and cleanliness I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

The Arden is a regular stay for working at events in the NEC. It's around a 15minute walk to the venue, depending on which halls, through the station. The breakfast is good, parking is handy. Less good are the low showers, at 6' tall, I've banged my head on them repeatedly. With that said, temperature and flow are good, and they are adequate. The staff are always helpful, if you do have any queries.

Good place to visit if going to halls one to six of the national exhibition centre as you can walk to them from the gate at the back of the hotel. Hotel has good business meeting rooms. Only thing to watch is arriving by car you need to come down the ramp from the round about. You can not turn in straight off the A45 highway. Useful place.

A little tricky to find but nice once you're there. Advise ignoring your sat nav. Really good buffet breakfast, rooms are reasonably comfortable and quiet.

Excellent food both in bar meals and in restaurant. Service was excellent from all staff. Room was comfortable. Id definitely go back. Down side. Sat nav can't find the hotel even though the hotel said to use post code of the fuel station.

Staff very welcoming. Easy right find Free parking. Food in the bar is good and not expensive. Bed in 137 is awful so I did not sleep well at at all — need a replacement urgently.

The building has been in the years and should be renovated. Rooms were clean. The mattresses too soft. Bathroom still OK.
Breakfast was OK. The sausage, however, had nothing to look at in the counter in the state. For 1-2 overnight stays OK.

Nice hotel within in easy reach of Birmingham Airport. Great meeting place. Could do with a bit more character but that's just my personal impression.

Good proximity to the airport, NEC and BHI. Check-in quick and easy with a friendly reception. Room dated but clean. Massive pillow with no alternatives and an uncomfortable bed. Good breakfast with standard options.

Hotel was ok but needs revamp in places. Paid £129 for a superior twin room which was only half the size of a premier inn room and had to pay an extra £20 for 2breakfasts. Total £149! far too much money for the room for one night. Was expecting something wow for a “superior “ room which it definitely wasn’t. The bar food and drinks were good and didn’t cost too much money so that was a plus. We booked the hotel because it said 0.40 miles to Genting arena but the flyover and the tunnel under the railway line that gives access was closed so had to walk all way to and through station and out other side 1.5 miles in the rain!
Spa was nice.
All in all paid out a small fortune for an average room with no breakfast and no direct access to the arena the reason we booked to stay.

The Hotel is huge. Gym, Bar and Snoker Tables are available. I didn't like the long balls and the numbering scheme could support in which wing of the building is the room. The staff was extremely friendly. The hotel has a walkable connection to the airport, which is another bonus.

Lovely hotel. Food was nice but the restaurant was a bit pricey but it is nice. Rooms are very clean and comfy but the whole place is a little bit dated now. The pool and spa are very nice.

Perfect hotel for working stay of one to two nights. Nice bar and bar food reasonably priced. Rooms are clean and neatly layed out. Breakfast is good, with range for all tastes.

We have stayed at this hotel on a couple of occasions now but this time was most certainly our last. The hotel itself is dated and not in the best condition. It's very overpriced for the quality of the place. The rooms follow the theme of being outdated and on the service look clean but they are not properly clean. The beds could do with new mattresses. The rooms are way too hot during the summer and way too cold during the winter. On our last visit the lights in the room blew late at night and it took staff several trips to the room and wherever else to attempt to fix it. They then called the room to say it was fixed and when we told them it wasn't they said they would send someone else and that someone else never materialised. We fell asleep waiting. After a trip to the front desk in the morning (over 12 hours after we initially reported the problem) it was sorted within 5 minutes. On our most recent stay the staff were rude. When we booked we had a 2 hour extension on check out added to our reservation, this meant we didn't have to check out until 2pm rather than 12pm. At 11:40 a member of reception staff walked into our room without knocking and when she saw me she didn't apologise for just barging in she just asked if we were checking out today. I told her we had a 2pm check out and she nodded and walked out. About an hour later she called the room phone and again said are you checking out today, no apology to disturbing us or anything.

The housekeeping, front of house and breakfast staff were amazing, and that's where the positives end with this hotel, unfortunately. I can't eat gluten and the first night I was there, there was a mix up and I ended up being given food with gluten in it and was really poorly through to the next night, couldn't even keep other medication down, which is absolutely unacceptable. We were offered a free meal, seriously. They temporarily mislaid my bank card, the lady said it was a family member who had done so and then proceeded to lie to my partners face about it. Our food plates were left on our table for FIVE hours also. The duty manager then offered us free drinks (couldn't keep water in). I enquired about a refund, it could only be made by card as that's how we paid, which was unless to us as we'd no way of paying for another hotel at this time of year. We slept on it and are now having to travel back to IRELAND on Christmas eve by ferry from Wales, which we have to get a train to. I got a refund of the hotel (excluding the two nights we stayed) and insisted on a refund of the food too. Absolutely disgraceful service, shocking staff and awful experience to be travelling home Christmas Eve, 84 quid lighter. Never been so upset, absolutely ruined Christmas.

Clean and pleasant but could definitely do with updating, the three course meal was only ok breakfast faired better though. Pleasant evening good atmosphere as there were plenty going on with work's Christmas parties, bar was worked well as there were plenty of friendly staff on so you didn't have to waste time waiting to be served. Never got to use the other facilities but a must if I ever re-book.

Stayed for one night as we were flying early the next morning, beautiful facilities including a gym, pool, sauna, jacuzzi and steam room. The room was spacious and very well decorated, coming equipped with all the usual amenities. We ordered room service, and while a little expensive the quality was superb. Will definitely be back.

Well appointed rooms, if perhaps slightly dated decor. But I suppose that is a matter of personal taste. Breakfast was very good and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I didn't get to use the pool and leisure facilities but my colleague did and found them quite pleasant.

Super room with air conditioning, large shower over bath king size bed — very comfy and view over car park. Sunday lunch very good value and excellent breakfast. N. E. C only £5.00 taxi away using A2B do not use black cabs much too dear. Friendly helpful staff a place I would recommend if visiting N. E. C or Genting Arena.

Decent room, could have been better for the price tho. No fridge in room. Hotel laundry service is ridiculously priced. Cheaper to buy new stuff than ask to get it washed. Free hotel breakfast is great, at the all you can eat bar.

Excellent Customer Service My Husband and I have stayed at the Arden Hotel prior to holiday departures in the past and have found this hotel to be friendly and helpful, as well as very conveniently located for the airport. Bearing this in mind we again booked park and stay prior to our planned trip to Mexico. This trip sadly had to be cancelled at the last minute due to hospitalisation of my Husband. When I contacted the Hotel I spoke to a really nice Lady who not only cancelled my room but said that due to the circumstances they would not make any charge for this. I was so touched by this gesture I actually burst into tears in the hospital car park. Thank you so much for this. We will return.

Even 1 star is not worth it! Check in staff was rude and had such a bad attitude, explained the facilities like she couldn’t be bothered. Room had a massive spider on the bed and smelt damp. Moved to s second room and that had a tiny shower and again a bad smell. That bad that I just left without staying the night.

Stayed on a stay and park deal direct with hotel. Pleasant leisure facilities a great stop over before early flight. Cost the same as just parking! Will use again.

Attending a local exhibition and went to the Arden for dinner, great service and exceptional food. Came back for breakfast the following morning which was an all you can eat with a massive selection of hot and cold food. Highly recommended.

One of the reception staff was rude when my friend went up to the desk, he just went "What? " like he had been interrupted. The reception decor is lovely though but the room (except from the bathroom) — not so much. Also the room was super warm, I'd suggest air con but when the windows were shut, I could barely even hear the motorway and I had an amazing sleep. I didn't get much information on where the smoking area was or quicker way to het to my room, however the breakfast was lovely and the staff were very attentive. One of the breakfast also gave me a map to the train station which was very helpful.

The staff at reception were very friendly and polite. Breakfast was good quality, with good assortment of traditional English breakfast staples such as bacon, sausage, and egg, as well as continental breakfast choices. The room, however, felt very tired and in need of refurbishment. Noticeable cracks in the ceiling, patch repairs to parts of the skirting under the radiator were visible, poor airflow in the room, and the bathroom door was see-through, so no privacy. The bed itself was quite comfortable, however.

It was a last minute booking. The room was very comfortable and the food on room service was excellent and yummy. (we were just wanting 'pub classics' type dishes, not a restaurant meal) The pool looked good but we didn't get a chance to use it.

Over night stay before going on holiday. Did the get chance to use the leisure facilities. Rooms are a decent size and I was Really happy to see gluten free cereal at breakfast. Parking for the week with stay at great rates.

Very difficult to park upon arrival. Looks like its used for the airport. Rooms are clean enough although a bit dated. Bar staff could do with a smile or customer service skills.

Short 10 min walk from station. Excellent ultimate chicken burger. Friendly staff. Gym could do with a bit of updating but all in all it did the job. Pool. Steamroom and sauna were good. Only issue was the room shower would not go cold enough and no air con in room. So 30degree heat outside was nightmare at night.

Was a good stay. The beds were comfy and staff were friendly and helpful. There were lots of facilities to use. Food wasn't too great but it was still good.

This review is for the restaurant. I stay in the hotel frequently for work. Others have commented it is a bit dated and this is true but the staff are great. In spite of myself I love it. Gym is a bonus. I had not eaten in the restaurant but my partner stayed this week and persuaded me to try it. I was VERY pleasantly surprised! I had a leek pie. Came with stacks of well cooked vegetables. My partner had sea bass which she enjoyed but was so impressed the the leek pie she wished she'd had it. With all the veg it is amazing value as well. My partner was impressed with her wine as well and she in not easily satisfied. Will be staying in the Arden in coming months and will now use the restaurant as often as my waistline allows (They've also recently updated the bar and room service menus)

Great bar area and very nice, fine dining, great wellness area. The room was not bad but I found the hallways really in bad condition, lacked the wallpaper in many places, the whitewashed walls were dirty and there were many damp spots. All in all a nice Hotel however I don't understand why getting lost in this nonsense, just freshening up the hallways and they would take the 5 stars!

Attended a course here Venue welcoming Staff professional and helpful Plenty of carparking spaces Considering so close to the airport it was quiet Decorating being carried out but was clean and tidy. A pleasant venue.

I stayed for 1 night at the Arden Hotel. I was very impressed overall with the room, its clean and well-equipped, perfect for a budget stay. The breakfast was wonderful, the waitresses in the restaurant area most definitely provided the best service that I received over the duration of the weekend. Overall, a decent hotel, in handy walking distance to the NEC.

This hotel was in a great location for access to the NEC, the Genting Arena and the Birmingham international airport and trainstation (approx 10 minute walk). The rooms were a nice size and the hotel service and food was fantastic. Have no bad words to say about this hotel. Thanks for the great stay! :)

Booked here for insomnia gaming festival. As we were traveling by train, walking to the hotel was a challenge as we couldn't figure out where we were going. Found it eventually. Staff are really nice and helpful. Did have to have a change of room due to the toilet not flushing but apart from that, very pleasent.

Nice hotel, price worthy for UK, good location close to the airport, nice pool, sauna, steambath and hottub, breakfast fully okay for that price. Rooms are clean and nice. Had to turn off the aircon completely, as it was only heating. Would definetily book it again.

Hotel OK and great for NEC, Gentin arena only problem was noise from party in hotel lucky I was a bit def after seeing whitesnake/ def leppard but whole room vibrated from music.

The room smells like dead fish. And I was told that the last entry to swimming pool is 9:15 but reject to get in at 9pm just as been told there at not lots of people so they stopped everything?! Awful service!

My non smoking room stank of stale smoke, the whole place didn't feel particularly clean and the restaurant was not great. The food was ok but services was slow and not particularly attentive.

Location spots on for nec evenrs. Hotel a bit dated now. Our shower was full of mpuld, there were holes in the sheets and the handle came off the window when we tried to open it. The bar meals were lovely though and the prices for food and drinks very reasonable. Staff all great. Got me extra pillow immediately. Everyone friendly.
