Review of Arden Hotel And Leisure Club 3*

We have stayed at this hotel on a couple of occasions now but this time was most certainly our last. The hotel itself is dated and not in the best condition. It's very overpriced for the quality of the place. The rooms follow the theme of being outdated and on the service look clean but they are not properly clean. The beds could do with new mattresses. The rooms are way too hot during the summer and way too cold during the winter. On our last visit the lights in the room blew late at night and it took staff several trips to the room and wherever else to attempt to fix it. They then called the room to say it was fixed and when we told them it wasn't they said they would send someone else and that someone else never materialised. We fell asleep waiting. After a trip to the front desk in the morning (over 12 hours after we initially reported the problem) it was sorted within 5 minutes. On our most recent stay the staff were rude. When we booked we had a 2 hour extension on check out added to our reservation, this meant we didn't have to check out until 2pm rather than 12pm. At 11:40 a member of reception staff walked into our room without knocking and when she saw me she didn't apologise for just barging in she just asked if we were checking out today. I told her we had a 2pm check out and she nodded and walked out. About an hour later she called the room phone and again said are you checking out today, no apology to disturbing us or anything. Once again I told her that as I had already confirmed with the front desk that morning we have a 2pm check out but we will be leaving shortly (this was at approx 12:40). She replied with OK and hung up. We left shortly after this. This was the last straw and we will definitely not be returning.
