There is a sauna, a pool with warm water. The rooms have old furniture. The staff are very nice.

Even when bar discounts have been agreed in advance the staff might randomly decide not to honour them so if you can bring your own booze do because it's expensive even for a hotel. Otherwise it's a good place. (Edit) I've been back again and this place gets worse and worse. Nowhere near enough staff; after six hours bedding hadn't been replaced and so I had to complain at midnight by going back to reception (no one answering the phones) only to be told they had no more foam pillows. Food sent back because it was cold. Carpets worn and bed uncomfortable. If you want to offer a budget service don't charge premium. This is a shadow of the hotel it was even six months ago.

Stayed here for a business trip and couldn't fault it. Use of the pool and gym, plus sauna and steam room was included and all were well maintained. I ordered steak via room service for dinner and it was great (although the peppercorn sauce wasn't the best). The room was clean, fresh and a good size. Breakfast in the morning was delicious with a really wide selection. Would definitely return and recommend.

Nice hotel, lots of facilities including pool spa with sauna and she room. Most of the bedrooms are up to date and in good condition. Lovely lounge and bar area with a great selection. Plenty of good food available in the bar or as room service. Fees apply to room service unfortunately.

I was here along with 1907 others for ConFuzzled 2018, and I'll have to say the hotel made us all feel amazingly welcome. Service has improved over the years since the convention moved here, and staff genuinely do go out of their way to make sure you feel wanted. Some of the facilities, particularly in the rooms are showing their age a little, and the fact that this used to be two hotels is pretty evident with a disconnect between the two halves, though it doesn't take too long to get used to the layout of things. Upgrades are going on somewhat incrementally; it's pretty odd to have very modern TVs but with an analogue feed that appears to suffer from reflections, for example (but that's probably my electronics background and sensitivity to visual oddities highlighting that). The downsides are pretty minor, though. Everything does work, and the staff are excellent, as is the great breakfast here. An excellent place to host a convention of this size, and very convenient for the NEC, Birmingham airport, Birmingham International Station and Resorts World.

Breakfast was great… But crowded. Hotel is in general pretty ugly… Also staff was not that nice. I've paid less for better hotels this one has just zero charm… Pool seemed nice. It's just. The place is enormous. Feels a bit like a labyrinth.

I come here every year for conferences and events. The service is always great, the staff are very helpful and the place is well run. Conference rooms are very spacious and the AV set up good. Food is always tasty at the hilton, never had a bad experience anywhere. You have peace of mind when using the Hilton brand. Thank you.

I stayed here for a work training course. The room was clean, the bed comfy. The staff were really friendly and helpful with good local knowledge. The breakfast was one of the best I've had in a hotel, with a beautiful selection of fresh fruits, cooked to order in from of you omelets and waffles. Fresh pastries, and the usual bacon, eggs, sausage beans, etc along side more continental options. I would definitly go back and recommend it. (the bar staff were helpful and had a good knowledge of their whiskeys)

Nice place to stay if you’re on business or attending an event at the NEC. The rooms are smart and clean, the bar is excellent, although quite expensive, and the food is good. Check in often takes far longer than it needs to for reasons I have yet to understand. But generally the staff at every level are very friendly and helpful. Parking can get pretty damn expensive if you are staying more than a day or two.

The location is fantastic for events at the NEC it's about a 5 minute walk to the venue and near enough the same to Resorts world. Easy to get to if you haven't been before either it's signposted from the NEC. The room was great nice comfortable bed, shower was great nice and clean. The staff were helpful and got me checked in and out quicky, other then the strange clicking noise I had in my room the stay was great.

Had very comfortable and calm stay in a family room whilst attending an event at the NEC over Easter. Room was spacious, clean and well maintained. Couple of annoying things happened during the stay, hence why only 4 stars. The hotel back door was locked after midnight meaning a long walk around to the front was required late at night. My rooms sofa was inexplicably turned into a sofa bed on the third night taking up most of the room space (was put back to normal on the 4th night) — housekeeping clearly bored and making work for themselves!

Amazingly well managed for such a huge hotel with 1000s of rooms. I was lucky to experience a members evening which was fantastic! The breakfast is very good, the staff work so hard and the toiletries are top notch. For 5 stars however, the beds would have to have been a lot comfier, the bottled water a little more reasonably priced and better temperature control all over the hotel.

Stayed overnight. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Was given a twin room and the bed was as wide as me. Not very comfy. The room was generally clean but the toilet was not flushing properly as a previous customers deposit was visible at the bottom. Room was nice and warm especially as it was 0 degrees outside. Low score is for the inconsiderate customers who decided to shout and scream in the hallway at 2am and also bang all the doors. Then decided they would watch TV very loud. Did not get much sleep. Got woken up again at 4.30am by more banging. Walls are super thin so you can also hear the room next door flushing and making various sounds whilst on the toilet.

The hotel has close access to the Birmingham Business Park, NEC, Train station & Resorts World. The room I stayed in was modern, but did have problems with heating and I was provided a fan heater. The design of the room is unusual with no divide between the sleeping and bathing areas. The bed was comfortable and I had a good nights sleep. The provided breakfast is excellent with lots of choice.

It's convenient for NEC & airport. However convenience shouldn't override quality. This place is verging on a dump. The decor is dated, badly worn & just not in keeping with the building or the Hilton brand. Not just the bedroom which looks like some awful Fawlty Towers-esque era seaside guesthouse but even the public areas have worn carpets, taped together with.

A very large and busy hotel. They are very used to getting large numbers of people moved around this hotel efficiently. As such it left me a bit of an empty feeling. The staff were pleasant with being friendly. My room was a quarter of a mile away from the reception desk and was the smallest room I have ever stayed in at any hotel. It was modern, clean and tidy and as you would expect. The bed, mattress and pillows were plump and comfortable and I had a great nights sleep. Watch yourself on the shower doors though, I got my fingers caught between the handle and the side of the shower cubicle. I wouldn't choose to stay at this hotel in the deluxe rooms or recommend it because of the open bathroom /toilet and problem shower cubicle. Unfortunately because I was running late I used the excess checkout and forgot to tell them about the shower cubicle.

My stay at the Birmingham Hilton has been quite enjoyable. The staff and facility are both friendly and comfortable. The fitness facilities are above average for even a Hilton property and its proximety to the NEC makes attending events there very convenient.

Was here for a corporate event… mixed experience. The catering was good, the event went brilliantly and the gym is better than most hotel gyms. Nice breakfast. Rooms were the weak point… initially in a twin room which had the tiniest, most rickety single beds you've ever seen… I've slept on better canvas fold up camp beds. Asked to swap and it was a hassle… staff just not really interested in helping, although eventually got switched to a double room. The heating didn't work so it was chilly but was otherwise comfortable enough. Big hotel so good for an event, they could just do with a bit more staff training.

Not a safe place for your valued items. A treasured valued jug left at the table after dinner was not kept aside for return back to owner. I went back to the dinning room minutes after, from my room when I wanted to make tea and realized it was left on the table. A steward said he saw it, but can now no longer be found. Really Incredible!

With a little solera but nice. Whenever I go it annoys me q do not have plugs near the bed. The bar is good and in the restaurant they serve good food.

Attended my company Christmas party including an overnight stay. Nice hotel and, although compact, room was spacious and comfortable enough for my needs. Heard that it's not the easiest too get to via the train but, as l drove, I can't say from personal experience if true. Had a very nice buffet breakfast with a good variety as you would expect and overall a good stay.

Room service was very quick — took less than 2 minutes for them to arrived. As a party venue it was great — lots of space and decent food. Rooms are small and beds move when you sit on them or lean on them which is very inconvenient. They are generally clean but nothing outstanding.

The guest rooms (cheaper option) were as expected smaller and less fancy, but what I didn't expect was to have a broker pice of headboard by my bed and a towel ring loosely hanging from a single pin ready to fall of. Other than these issues the staff were all welcoming and friendly. The conference was run smoothly and the catering, especially lunch, was great.

Had a great time here, the room was great although not as clean as I would have liked. Had food to my room which was quick and well stocked for what I needed. I left a necklace behind and they posted it to me which was fab since I'm 3h's drive away. Thanks guys.

The conference facilities were excellent and service was good at all times. The bedrooms were very clean and tidy and breakfast was also very good with a wide choice. There was a constant noise outside my room (probably an air conditioning unit) which didn't help with sleeping and may bother some people more. Other than that it was a pleasant and comfortable stay.

One of the better hotels I've stayed in, in this area. Bedrooms newly refurbished. Staff excellent. Food great. Parking expensive but ample.

I booked 2 nights at the Hilton NEC, but due to work pressures, I decided to drive up early the following morning, forfeiting my first nights stay. The hotel staff, upon my arrival refused to give me access to my room, and claimed "I was not on their system". I managed to stay in a friends room. The following morning I confronted the manager who admitted that she had decided to re-sell my second nights stay — although I had already paid for it. And she was not going to refund me either. She then said it was Hilton Hotels policy. So their claim that "I was not on their system was a lie" and double selling a room questionable. What a sneaky lot!

Great location right next to the NEC which was where our conference was, good service, good food and fairly priced as long as you book on advance which we did. Facilities were top notch with a spa, pool and gym which we didn't use due to our schedules but were available to us if we had chosen.

Pleasant upmarket hotel. Easy walk to the NEC, Genting Arena or Resort World. Rooms are pretty good, but don't have electric sockets near the beds as most recently updated hotels do. Bathroom is slightly cramped, but has a bath with shower built in. All rooms I've been in have had an iron and ironing board. Breakfast is very good. Excellent hot and cold selection with omelette chef and a pancake chef as well. The bar serves good lager and bitters at the usual over-inflated prices, and is a comfortable place to chill out.

The location is great being easily accessible from major routes. The rooms are varied, the smaller rooms are too small IMO but adequate for a single night I suppose. The staff are extremely friendly and there's a welcoming atmosphere in the hotel. The only criticism would be that the bar staff are far too particular about making drinks and so service e is far too slow. There's no need for showing off when opening a bottle…

Stunning hotel with staff that went out of their way too look after our entire company. 5 minutes walk from the NEC, it catered for everything we needed. Rooms are spacious and everything you could need included.

A very busy Hilton well situated within the N. E. C. Grounds, I found the service from all staff to be excellent and the spa facilities well maintained.

Went to a work conference. Not the best looking outside. However is really nice on the inside and staff are very friendly and helpful.

I stayed for four nights. My room was very comfortable and always clean and tidy. The housekeeping staff always did a great job in my room. The staff in all eating areas of the hotel were professional and friendly. Highly recommended. .

The place looks great, I atteneded for an event and they layout was great for that but the event staff where so rude. Reception staff unreasonably snobby. Someone somewhere messed up by booking two conventions in adjoining rooms but queueing on the same corridor. That soon got hot and messy, enter unhelpful staff who on several occasions pushed people. So while this place looks great and is conveniantly located. I would not recomend it for events.

Dated decor and poor air conditioning let this hotel down. Fantastic breakfast however. Rooms are somewhat comfortable, however I had a restless night.

Stayed here again on Sunday night. Upgraded to a wonderful room. That's the good news. From the outside the building looks like either a prison or a parking garage. Inside it is very dated. Air conditioning didn't' work in the room. Hair dryer was built before the invention of a mobile phone. Time not for a makeover, time for a full facelift!

A wonderful & magical experience, just what I needed after a couple of stressful weeks at work. Thank you Living Well team, I've not relaxed like this in a long time. I would definitely recommend you to family & friends.

At least some of the rooms have been modernised recently, even the older rooms are fine if a little dated. Room service and general hotel services are perfectly acceptable, so there's nothing wrong there. Food is varied in both cost and quality with plenty of places to eat. Drinks are a tad expensive and there a little less selection than I'd have liked. All in all, a consistantly great stay year on year.

Nice hotel. Feels a bit old now but the rooms are comfortable and the housekeeping are lovely, even if they do slam doors all morning cleaning rooms. The bar prices are pretty steep as is food. But when it comes to function space it's ample for pretty much anyone. Some of the bar stuff really put their back out to help.

Good place near the NEC, small rooms for the single one. One of the receptionist was very rude when asking about late check out, and was delivering the message that it is not possible for late check out at 2 pm in a rude way even without a smile on his face, beside telling me don't forget to get another credit card as the one you booked with online has been declined in a very rude way… really rude I don't know how can that be done in a hotel like Hilton : (

I visit this hotel a few times a year for conventions. It's always very busy but we love coming back, it's like our 2nd home. The rooms are always lovely and the beds are really comfortable. There can be a long wait for food in the bar during cons but the food stalls they have bought in have been amazing. Parking is a bit expensive but better if you have con discount. Food varies each time I go but the chicken parm I had last time was great. The gym and pool are lovely, great facilities. Always look forward to coming back.

I've stayed in many Hilton properties over the years and this is by far the worse room I've EVER spent the night in. Booked the hotel on points and was given what is basically a dorm room with a pull out twin bed facing loud air conditioners outside. The room is "spacious" 20x7, internet connection is flying at 0.3 Mbps and the toilet is in the same room 3 feet away from the bed. When asked for a different room was told that point reservation entitles me to "LOW CLASS room" Way to treat you DIAMOND members Hilton!

I've stayed here a few times. The main purpose of this place has been convenience to the NEC and it gets 5 stars for that. If you love 1980's decor, you'd give it 5 stars for that as well :) This hotel is a bit dated although it's in the process of having rooms updated. It's potluck what type of room you get — but at the moment, avoid the suites, they are very outdated. Other negative points include the dining. We managed to dine once at Millers and it was quite good. All other times it has been closed and the dining was poor. Also, check if functions are on and what floor you are on. Otherwise you might be included in some kind of all night disco, like we were (we ended up getting moved). I should add that I found the staff to be friendly and professional though. Overall, if location is paramount, then this is a good choice, but it's expensive for the standard.

I've stayed at the hilton during an event that is held there for the last 3 years and quite frankly I hope its never held there again. The management were rude to the guests, they hired a private security company for the first time this year and not only were they rude but they were aggressive as well. On multiple occasions they swear in the face of event goers and guests. They even refused access to some parts of the hotel. I've stayed at alot of different hotels and nothing even comes close to the bad experience I also have at this hotel. I have no idea if anyone will ever see this review but I certainly hope it will make some second guess if they want to stay at this hotel or one of the other much more pleasant hotels near by. I would like to point out that this is my own personal view and im sure that others have had a lovely stay but I personally dislike being in this hotel now.

Large hotel, well run. Friendly efficient staff. Good facilities. It even had some charm, which for a building at the NEC is a neat trick.

Nice hotel, was very busy when we arrived because of a show at the NEC. Difficult to find somewhere to sit and eat especially on a Sunday evening. Got a drink and table watched for an hour or so and found somewhere to eat. Food was good and was brought out promptly. Was able to split the bill for us aswell. This was a stop over for a flight from Birmingham the next morning.

Train station and airport both at about 10 minutes from cab/shuttle. Nice hotel for business stays as its near to the airport but little far from the Frankfurt Christmas Market, Victoria Square (35-40 mins). Hotel provides shuttle service to train station. Conference space is good and so is the pool and fitness center.

I booked a family room at this hotel by paying £239 for one night as we had a 2 years old with us. I stayed in Hilton before in Leeds and London, so of course had a very high expectation. To my surprise the room I checked in to was not even compared to any cheap hotel. The room was really dirty and there were hair everywhere. The Toilet flush and heating system wasn't working at all. Seems that bath tub and the basin was not cleaned at all. The service team came and they tried to resolve the issue, but they couldn't resolve the heating system. After the recommendation from one of service team, the manager agreed to shift us to a different family room with no help what so ever. To my surprise, the other room was in a better condition than the previous one, at least the toilet flush and heating system was working. Other than that, the cleanliness is exactly the same. I didn't want to complain any more but mentioned the feedback while checking out. No response what so ever. Angry, Upset and will never stay again even if been paid to stay there.

The hotel is very popular, mainly due to its location next to both the airport (about a 5 minute car journey) and the NEC (10 minute walk). However, the decor is a little dated, and in some places it does seem a little like 'The Shining'. The food from the bar is the best value on offer — try ordering two sides and you'll have as much food as the main meals. The rooms are fine, beds comfortable and roomy, although the age of the building does mean it can be stuffy on warmer days.

The good part about the stay was the porter at the start thats where the good service started and ended. It took is 55 minutes to check in the checking in staff were slow and very lapse I cant believe it was so confusing to check three rooms. The rooms were a good size however we were woken two times in the morning once by maintenance and another time by house keeping when I reported the guest services manager claimed I had imagined it. I would highly recommend not staying here theres a crown plaza across the road which is a similar price I wouldnt waste money or time on this hotel. I would however state that the only thing which saves this hotel is the exceptional waiting on staff in the club lounge there a credit to hilton. Its a shame the booking system the reception staff and the guest service manager all need a lot more training as they were all very very poor.

Would not advise anyone to go to this hotel. Was meant to pay £159 but they have taken £209 out of my account and are now not answering the phone. The room was dirty, there were no towels or essentials for a hot drink in the room upon arrival. The bath was not fit to wash a cat in let alone a human being. You get a better room and service staying with a Travelodge for the night.

Considering the astronomical prices this hotel is a disappointment. Sadly if you need to stay near the NEC then you don't have much choice, so they don't need to make that much effort. To be clear it isn't a bad hotel, but it is also not a good one, the bar is always jammed so it's hard to get a drink, and when you do expect to pay through the nose for it. The rooms are adequate, no fridge which is disappointing, and again for what you pay I guess you would expect more. We'll keep coming when we stay at the NEC because we have little choice, but that doesn't meen we like it.

Large hotel perfectly situated if your working or visiting the NEC. Rooms are clean but a bit dated. Has a large pool, gym, Jacuzzi which open early. The food is pretty ordinarily and you have a choice of two restaurants and the bar. The drinks are very expensive and the service is atrocious which makes it more annoying paying those kind of prices (at least £5 a pint). The feel of the place is pretty soulless but after the case in large hotels like this. Parking onsite which is chargeable and paid on departure. Hotel has free Wi-Fi.

Friendly staff and good facilities. Gym was great. Executive lounge was useful with complimentary food and drink — saved some money there! Room decor was a bit tired but nothing too major. One of the better hotels I've stayed at.

Hello. I stayed in Hilton from 12 August till 17 august. Everything was nice except a few things, thats why I put 3 instead of 5. First of all the key-cards 4 or 5 times blocked and I had to go to the reception all the time. And it wasnt because I had a phone or something else that could demagnetize the cards, I always kept them aside from gadgets. And this was very unpleasant a few times when I really wanted to use the bathroom. A few times the cleaning staff didnt change the towels and didnt put new douche gel and shampoo. In my bathroom the plug for the shaver didnt work, they gave me an adaptor for that plug after 2 my requests. The breakfast was very delicious. They have very good conference rooms. The staff is 99% courteous. They have good gym room and pool. But for this money, 113£ per night for my room its not worth it. At least for this price they could add dinner or make the rooms better. But anyway I had a really great time, because I was with my friends :) I really hope they will change this inconveniencies. p. S. The place were the hotel is located its beatyful and a nice park with a fine lake.

Was not worth £210 for 1 night when neil diamond was at arena waited 45 minutes at the bar to get a drink under staffed breakfast was poor room was poor and I upgraded to a queen room will not visit again crown plaza is much better and a lot cheaper.

Tiny room, 15 pounds per day for Wi-Fi. The garden is nice, so is the food.

So many function rooms, this place is absolutely THE place to go for BIG events. Partypicz photo booth hire provided the event photography for one of the black and white balls at Christmas where there were over 600 people in the one room, but they have rooms capable of holding over 1200 people! Fantastic.

I love having a huge queen-size bed to myself, the room was clean and comfortable. Bar meals were tasty and reasonably priced for a hotel. Breakfast was great and the staff in the dining room very helpful and friendly.

Absolutely crap I used to work there done 4 weeks felt like hell it's way over priced for what is and the staff are crap they treat you with no respect! Behind the scenes around the back were the public don't see is like being in war zone take a look behind the fire exits on each floor of you do stay its a horrible place to stay! And the food and parking are over priced £5 for a glass of Pepsi and £15 for 2 hrs Parking! DONT BE FOOLED ON STAYING THERE.

The spa reception area is more like a table in the middle of the room. The therapists seem to be aimlessly sitting around with no where to go. However the massage I received was very good and the therapist had been trained very well. I got full use of the facilities and all the staff was very nice.

Ideal for NEC and LG Arena. The twin room was clean and tidy but in need of some redecoration. A little disappointing for a 4 hotel. The staff were lovely and the breakfast excellent. Stayed in May 2014 to attend a concert at the arena less than 10 minutes walk from the hotel.

Great convention hotel, very easy to get to from all over the UK. Pricey on food and drink and quality varies. The Airport next door has places to visit though. Bedrooms are high standard, very clean and comfortable however the TV selection is very poor, it has an HDMI port but no way to access it. Hotel gets very hot so make sure your air con works in your room.
