I would recommend as a good budget hotel. The room was clean and tidy with towels and soaps provided, also kettle/cups. The shower room had recently been refurbished and was spotless. The bed was comfortable and location of hotel was great. The staff were friendly and offered us free parking again on the day we were leaving if we needed it. The decor is a bit dated but was expected as its budget. The outdoor area of the hotel was well maintained. Was concerned due to previous reviews but my room was absolutely fine. On arrival at hotel reception you type your car reg into computer/tablet to validate the free parking. Its displayed on notice boards on parking entry on how to validate and can't really be missed at reception either. Absolutely no probs. Thanks.

DO NOT use this hotel its the worst ive ever stayed in even after 14 years of being a contractor. check the reviews on trip advisor and don't look at the good ones they must be faked and brought rooms via the hotel itself to add a good review. our room was damp smelly mouldy the springs were in my back all night the toilet was unstable we fell threw the floor of the bathroom the shower tray had holes in it the toilet leaked the curtains had big rips in the window seal was hanging out we had snails in the room my clothes now stink the list is endless. we had 7 rooms and nobody had a good word to say about the room and neither did the countless people I spoke to. it ruined my experience of torquay and it will for many others until this place is shut down or falls down which ever comes first. please do yourself a favour even if you're tempted because its cheap dont do it to yourself ive seen better maintained shanty towns in Africa… and I will add this was our second room change from the first one we were not changing a third time so cut our losses and left early.

Manager not bothered.
Keep well away at all costs.

Poor communication, they cancell our reservation 2 hours before arrival, I don't reccommended!

Absolutely the worst experience of mine and my families life. The rooms are disgusting we had damp all around furniture was broken and stained with what looked like coffee. The bed had tobacco in the matress. The windows were filthy and the the plaster was cracked with damp above the window. To top it off my 8 year old sons foot went through a loose floor board casing him to fall and scratch his leg. The staff were very rude and not one bit apologetic or understanding. The owner walked round with his trousers undone and no shoes on whilst pretending he wasn’t the owner but a worker. Never in my life have I experienced a hotel like this it ruined the 1st day of our holiday whilst only having 4 days here! Would recommend people to definitely avoid this hell hole!

Absolutely filthy place… dead flies in the dining room window sills. Mould on my pillow. Rubber seals off the windows hanging down. Curtain rail broken. Toilet rocks when you sit on it and the place smells dusty and damp. No head boards on the beds. Food ok. A very run down hotel in need of modernisation.

Had a fantastic time at The Sherwood Palms. The food was delicious the entertainment was great. The room was lovely. The staff are amazing they are so kind, friendly and caring. Special thanks to Veena for making us feel so welcome. Had a great time and met some great friend. Hope to see you all again soon will deffinately reccomend xxxx.
