Great Hotel, the food is good and the staff can’t do enough for you.

First time stay, friendly staff, clean, great indoor and outdoor pools,

We throughly recommend this lovely hotel. Everything is fantastic from the room, staff, facilities, breakfast, restaurant plus it is pet friendly with fantastic views.

Only spent one night at Abbey Sands but the staff really were very friendly. Had a great breakfast. My wife is gluten free but they got her some bread. Nothing seemed too much trouble for them. Great location for the seafront and town. Definitely coming back again😀

Awful hotel, dirty, falling apart and not family friendly. Avoid this hotel like the plague, refused to refund us for nights that we couldn’t stay because of how awful it was, feel completely scammed!

Came for a 'spa day''There is no way a day leisure pass is worth £10.
Luke warm jacuzzi only half working, broken kids toys chucked at the side. Over flowing plastic basket of dirty towels, a shower full of hair and a toilet with no toilet roll and a hairdryer from the 1950's. Cold, moldy with absolutely no atmosphere at all. Will not be returning.

The staff were wonderful and couldn't do enough for us. It had a pool which is warm, a bar and restaurant. The food was lovely and good value with good portion sizes. It's a very short walk into town so great location with very pretty views. The room was beautiful and very clean with an awesome bath! It even has a lovely cute lounge to share with other guests and the chairs are really comfy. We had such a brilliant stay and were upgraded in arrival. I reccomend to everyone! The staff really are a credit and we were over the moon! We had dinner by a real open fire which was a wonderful addition. We had robes, slippers, wash stuff and tea, coffee and water facilities included which made it feel that little bit of extra luxury. Thank you all, we can not wait to come back again! Xxx.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights BB & evening meal. Our room was a good size, cosy and clean, the breakfast was very nice, and for the 3 meals we ate here the food was tasty and of excellent quality and the staff were very attentive. Another bonus just a short walk to the theatre, Harbour and town. Thank you for a lovely enjoyable stay. Mr & Mrs H.

A warm welcome upon arrival, very nice clean room. Good selection of food on the Restuant menu. Stall all seem friendly and helpful.

Me and my children have a Membership here and we absolutely love the place, Outdoor Pool is Heated, Beautiful Garden Area,
Play Park, Clean Changing Rooms with a lovely hot shower and always plenty of clean fresh towels supplied, And Plenty Of Sun Loungers always enough even when busy. Staff are all lovely and very helpful!
We’ve had many brilliant days spent at the pool during this years School Summer Holidays!

We only stayed one night, but room was lovely and ensuite was spacious, shower was a little tricky but water was nice and hot. We used the pool and jacuzzi which was very nice and changing facilities were good. They help you with parking which is free. 3 course meal for £20.00pp was stunning well worth the money. I would definitely stay there again, was close enough to town but far enough away that you weren't bothered with any noise.

Room very spacious food was good but dinner portions weren't adequate. The main let down for this hotel so 've it's name change is getting rid of disable friendly equipment it used to have.

Beautiful hotel tucked away from main road so no noise at night. Extremely clean. Hosts are wonderful and nothing was too much. Was welcomed by Paula on arrival and offered a lovely cup of tea which went down a treat. Thankyou. Our room was outstanding. Soft carpet. Spacious room. Usb points. Lovely big power shower. Bed was the best ive slept in and we travel a lot. Didnt want to leave. Oh and the breakfast is amazing. Yogurts. Fresh fruit salad. Dried fruits. Nuts. Cereals. And a delicious full english. Lots of tea. Coffee and cold juices. We most definitely will be staying again. Thankyou Paula and Ray xx.

We were delighted to have chosen Grosvenor House Hotel as our place of stay for our visit to Devon. Suitably located for access to the beach as well as the incrediby picturesque village of Cockington with its fairly unique cricket field. Paula and Ray are very welcoming hosts, their knowledge of the local area, the sights the sounds and what to do, including where to go and where not to go were invaluable. My partner and I, both in our early thirties truly did enjoy our 'staycation' in Devon and I'd be happy to fully recommend Grosvenor House Hotel to friends and family alike.

Great staff service at the reception and restaurant. Room was very comfortable and dinner was delicious. I travel every week around the country due to work and after 3 years staying in all sort of high quality hotels I can assure this was the only hotel making me fell like I was on holiday. Totally recommended.

Has very limited parking. Has outdoor pool but it was closed during Easter break (cold weather). Indoor pool and Jacuzzi not very clean, could do with a lot of attention from the staff. Indoor pool is good only for adults, as there is no separate kids section in it. Sauna is good and seems refurbed. Staff was very friendly and courteous. Excellent buffet breakfast — hot and cold options. Hotel Location is very good, just 5 mins to the beach. But for the room cleanliness, and swimming pool's upkeep, I would have given a better rating.

Room was huge, and beds comfortable. A little tatty, but really par for the course in older Torquay hotels. Decor is nice and modern for the most part. Food was nothing incredible but good and served warm and in big enough portions. Used the function rooms as band rehearsal rooms and they were more than accommodating. Staff all very friendly.

This was a first holiday away for my partner and I, and because I am disabled we had to break the trip down, and to make it affordable for us we looked at the amazon deals. I was a bit worried about whether it would be a disaster or not. Our first Hotel was in north devon a little town called South Molton. Was not impressed at all. The people very ignorant and just generally not a nice place. Our second Hotel visit for two days was here at the Grosvenor. So of course after a bad experience we were not holding our breath. Well was very easy to find, and OH MY WORD we were greeted with such a warm, happy, glowing young man, who answers to the name of Ben. Ben went OUT of his way to tell us about everything, and to ensure us that if we needed anything at all just to ask. He offered us the 3 course dining offer which we accepted. The room was wonderful, sea views Our only criticism was the room was a bit on the warm side, and no we didn't have the heating on but at least we could have the window open so could keep it cool. Ben appologised for the refurbishment of the hotel but it really was no problem. And did not interfere with us at all. We made use of the swimming pool, sauna and hot tub. Evening meal and WOW great service by Chloe who actually coped with 16 lots of guests not moaning, was not stressed, carried a smile. So she made our Evening and the food was to us of 5* quality. Entertainment was good.

Lovely hotel and loved our time staying there. The food was superb and the staff were very friendly. The swimming pool was quite warm but really nice. Some reviews say that the hotel needs updating — I'm assuming this has already been done as it was furnished nicely. In walking distance of crazy golf, town centre with lots of shops, loads of restaurants/cafes, the beach, two arcades and the train station. My only problems were that the room was a little on the warm side and I might give the attached diner a miss — we had to wait an hour for food to arrive but they sorted the issue and the food was pretty good. Overall, I highly recommend it and it was well worth the price we paid for our stay.

The Sheldon family had a 5 day stay, fantastic staff all friendly and so helpful. Lovely clean rooms great food, the best we have stayed in Torquay, will definatly stay again. Thanks guys for making our holiday great x.

Last minute booking, managed to get the family room. Very well priced. The Hotel looks dated and in need of exterior paint, plus interior decor is in need of a revamp. I sampled the new diner which if I remember rightly is called Keith's? Food was excellent and everything was freshly handmade, the only downside was the staff. Very poor service, empty bottles building up, not advising how long my son's drink was gonna take when we all had ours. Plates were left on tables and staff were stood round talking. However I met the Manager there who recently started, and she shared me some of the ideas she has for the Hotel in the near future. They sound fantastic and she has real determination to follow them through. The receptionist was very polite and didn't keep us waiting. Breakfast was fantastic, amazing food (particularly the sausages and fresh yoghurt, none of the shop bought pots) The staff on the breakfast shift were excellent and just what you want in a waiter. Spoke to me like I was of someone very important or even royalty. The parking was a disappointment as I struggled to find a space, but that could be looked on as a positive as the hotel was busy. Also the veranda was brilliant, a nice little suntrap, which was located next to the conservatory. One last thing, the gardens were lovely, well maintained and the outdoor pool was excellent and even heated, Can see a nice bar being put out there in the summer! Messed our room up the indoor changing room had to box short in and the staff in the bar and restrant were very slow and at eavning meal we was not asked if we wanted a drink.
