The hotel derives its name from the enchanting Ansteys Cove, Torquay, once a smuggler's haven. Ansteys Lea was originally a Victorian gentleman's residence and became a small hotel in 1946. The building’s traditional Victorian ceiling with cornices and roses are a wonderful architectural feature.
This hotel of great warmth and character is situated between Torquay's town centre and marina, and Babbacombe Downs with their magnificent sea views.

Stayed for 2 nights with friends and family to celebrate my sister's 70th. Our room was like an apartment and very comfortable. The owner was friendly and helpful and I couldn't understand the negative reviews. We paid £45 a night and considering where it is and time of year, we thought this was cheap. We will definitely go back again.
Went there with family and friends for my 70th birthday. Host was helpful friendly and all the rooms were nice and spacious would go again.
