We always stay at Acorn Lodge. Debs and Mike are lovely hosts and attends to your needs. You feel very much at home. Room is fabulous and lovely balcony to sit outside and chill. Breakfast lovely. Till the next time.

Had a fantastic stay in the kingsize with balcony room it was lush, great hosts Debs and Mike were very welcoming, pleasant and friendly, breakfast very nice full English with lots of other choices available and as much tea, coffee and toast, will be back so enjoyable thanks guys for a great stay.

This place is a total gem. Great location, the rooms are very tidy and spacious and the owners are such a lovely helpful couple. 10/10, probably the best bed and breakfast I have ever used.

Very nice place to base yourself for a holiday on the English Riviera. Excellent breakfasts, friendly hosts and comfortable quality rooms. The family room will sleep five and is a definite highlight.

Absolutely appalling manner, had to cancel the booking as apparently completely unreasonable to have my 5 month old stay in a double room with me and my partner. Owner was incredibly sarcastic about our request. Was apparently a necessity to pay for a room with two single beds in it as well as the double for my partner and I.

Stayed here for two nights recently. The hosts were great, and we felt very welcome from the moment we stepped foot in there! The breakfast was spot on, and the room was perfect. Will definitely be using Acorn Lodge again if we visit Torquay.

Acorn Lodge is a great, comfortable bed and breakfast. The room was a good size, great en suite, with a generous biscuits and drinks tray which was a nice surprise. The only down side was that the pillows were a bit hard. The breakfast was fantastic with great choice and lovely friendly service. Its a 10 minute walk to the sea and town, and a 20 minute walk to the harbour. I would definitley recommend staying here.

Great little B&B that will accomodate a family of 5 in one room.

The people there are very friendly and hospitable. The room is quite cosy. The breakfast is good.

Inspite a family friendly orientation and information provided on the web site this hotel cancelled our booking as there is no room for travel cotbed according to their official and they could not accept an infant staying with parents in bed, which is in opposition to what was presented on their website. dissappointment.

Clean and tidy with a warm welcome and fantastic breakfast.

We initially booked 3 rooms for 3 couples over 2 nights. They then contacted us to say they had double booked and 1 of the couples would have to stay 1 night in the Brantwood hotel over the road. We were the couple who stayed in the Brantwood, where we had a good night's sleep and a great breakfast for £16 less than the Acorn. Naturally when we spent the second night in Acorn Lodge we made several comparisons. The bed was less comfortable. Although we actually had a suite with 2 rooms, they felt smaller as there was less room around the bed to move. No bedside tables. The wardrobe was ready to collapse and was positioned in front of the window, blocking lots of light. The shower was feeble and needed a good clean in the corners. Finally we had very little sleep that night as the guttering was blocked/broken. It was raining heavily most of the night we felt as though we were being subjected to Chinese water torture as the rain poured out of the gutter onto the balcony outside our window! When I complained about the gutter the next morning, the owner Clifton was not willing to compromise on anything. He did not even offer to come up to the room to listen to the water. He said it wasn't his fault it was raining, and that if we hadn't stayed in the other hotel we wouldn't have made the comparison between the two hotels, conveniently forgetting that it was HIS fault we were staying there in the first place.
