The lobby itself is beautiful. The room wasn't by any means bad, but certainly felt a little old and dated in a strange way. Pleasant none the less.

We upgraded to the Jacuzzi room. It was on the first floor right off of main st. The room looked like someone watched HGTV and thought "hey, I can do that… " Unfortunately, they couldn't. The towel rack was crooked and had a poorly covered hole. The sprinklers in the ceiling were cut wrong. There was a "patio" that was the former atrium for an entrance that was locked, so you were basically in a fishbowl on the sidewalk. It was very odd. The TV didnt have the remote programmed to control the tv, so you had to use 2 remotes. The carpet was old and stained. The workers were nice, and the wedding we went to was beautiful even though they didnt out enough plates out and took way too long to realize that we needed more. They knew how many guests were coming, how could they mess that up? The Jacuzzi tub was nice, but it definitely wasn't worth the extra money.

Me and my girlfriend stayed one night at the McLure Hotel in Wheeling, WV. The location was fairly easy to find in a small city like Wheeling. The price I paid for the hotel was as expected for the star rating of the hotel. When we arrived, I parked my car in the garage which was easy to find and took the elevator that led straight to the hotel. Once inside, I immediately took noticed that the hotel appeared old and smelled kind of funny, like an old smell with a combination of smoke. The décor was also not very modern but not unpleasant. Once we walked down the hallway and towards the front desk, we were greeted by two very friendly ladies who assisted us in checking in. Everything was perfect on that front and the service was great! We were given a room on the 6th floor next to the elevator. The old, smokey smell persisted through the elevator as well as the hallway towards our room. Once we entered the room, there was no longer that funny smell and the room was average. Nothing special but nothing bad as well. It had a fairly comfortable bed, new TV, microwave, and mini fridge. The bathroom was also okay. It wasn't dirty and had all amenities as you would expect. For our one night stay just to sleep as we drove cross country, the room was more than adequate for that. In the morning, the check out process was very easy and the gentleman that I was greeted at the front desk helped me extremely quickly and courteously.
