Room was not clean. Disgusting!

Maintenance on the hotel. Itself is horrible, the employees are hardly welcoming… not a good stay.

Always a great stay here. We stat anytime we are up in Northern WV.

Very good staff and very clean place. They make cookies and popcorn after 3pm for guests which is nice and their rooms are very spacious and clean. They have four different room types so if you are looking for just a place to stay or to go somewhere on your honeymoon this is the place to stay!

I recieved excellent customer service from Heather during check in. She was very attentive, had an awesome positive attitude, genuinely cared, and went above and beyond to help me with a booking issue I had due to my error. I was just as happy with the room I booked. I was surprised at how large it was. For the price I paid, I feel like I got an amazing deal! The bed was super comfortable which is a big deal to me. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be visiting again in the future! Very happy customer!

Won’t be staying here again. The cleanliness of the Hotel needs improvement. Out toilet was not cleaned for days, hallways were not clean, elevators were dirty and pool wasn’t very clean. Rooms need some TLC. You could tell that people had spilled things on the carpet. They had a hot tube but it wasn’t working. We needed to do laundry but had to go to the hotel across the way and when we walked over with all of our stuff the people at the other hotel told us they only had one washer and dryer for us to use but that there guest were using it. I had also brought my sons towel with me. I had hung it up and noticed that they had taken it we had asked the front desk about it they said that they would check. I went by everyday with someone different telling me that no one brought it up yet. It seemed like they didn’t even care that they had taken my sons towel. When we went down for breakfast the first morning there was a lady that was attending to the breakfast bar but she was in the conference room sitting watching people get food didn’t think that was appropriate.

We thought it was a great room for the rate. Friendly staff. Would definitely stay again.

Pulling up this place looks very nice. We got to our room which looks nice but upon further inspection it was not clean. There was a small red drop of something on the floor in the bathroom which didnt get cleaned until we asked them to clean it, a hair on the back of the toilet and the carpet was torn in a couple spots. The next day when the sun was up we noticed the curtains were ripped and there was something that looked like a wadded up ripped up sheet behind the chair. The floors were very dirty through the hotel and the elevator had the same coffee spill on the floor for 3 days. A few other issues, the shower held water even with the drain stopper out, and the sink water stopper was missing. The pool area was very gross. The hot tub was empty and very gross. The pool water was very cloudy and the bottom was rough and peeling. I wanted to shower as soon as I got in the water. On a positive note the beds were very comfy, great view from the hotel window, and the TV has a great selection of channels.

Good hotel for the price. Clean rooms and polite staff. Complimentary breakfast and indoor pool. This hotel has a hot tub, but it's been inoperable for the last month or so. Good location and we can usually find a good price if we look online.

Clean room. Good price. Good location. Couldn't use the pool. Wasn't available the night we checked in or the morning before we checked out. Big disappointment!

Currently staying at Wingate thru Friday. This a really nice hotel in really nice shape! The employees are extremely nice as well as very accommodating! Wouldn't think twice about staying here again, when in the area!

I am going thru cancer treatment & due to it, am too tired to drive home from work every night. So, I stay at the Wingate in Bridgeport, WV 1 or 2 nights a week. I get up at 4am to work a 10 hour day. This night I was feeling particularly ill so my husband came to stay with me. At 10:30pm, we discovered the remote missing. The room was also missing a fridge, microwave, alarm clock & coffee pot. I tried calling the front desk & no one answered. So I had to get dressed & go to the front desk. There I found Bob & another female employee training. I wondered why no one answered my call, but just asked for a remote. Bob grabbed one from a drawer. I thought he would hand it to me but instead came out to follow me to the room to program the remote. I told him I didn't want him coming to my room because my husband was indisposed & preparing for bed. He said that he had to with the remote. I told Bob, Never mind. It's late & this is ridiculous. Then he offers to put us in another room. I said yes. While he was making the changes, he makes the snide comment that he "could have programmed the remote faster than moving your room". I really didn't appreciate his snide comment. Then he hands me the key & said to just leave the keys in the old room. 5 minutes later, Bob is knocking on the door to inspect the room. Again, interrupted & inconvenienced, I couldn't get moved out of the room quickly enough for Bob. I apologize, I know I'm young but battling cancer, I have slowed down a lot.

Decent hotel. Clean and we'll kept. The staff is great and go out of their way to take care of you. The free breakfast was ok, but could be better. All in all, a good place to stay in the area. The price was very reasonable and we would stay again.

This is a very nice place. Very clean & comfortable rooms. Helpful staff. Would definitely stay again if I found myself in the area.

Hotel with clean room, perfect for business travel.

Our room was nice minus the fact the carpet had a huge stain right when you entered the room and there was not a carpet srtp by the bathroom. But my husband and I had a great time.

The spa is not working and we were informed the pool will be shut down for a month after our first night here. Also they will not issue us a refund if we went somewhere else or a discount. The pool and spa was the reason why we booked this hotel cause we are traveling with kids. Definitely will not return or recommend!

Walked in to warm cookies and popcorn. Staff is nice and friendly. Close to the express way with free breakfast and a pool. Awesome stay!

Everything was nice for a 2.5 star hotel. There is plenty of parking in the front and rear of the hotel. Check-in was simple. The lobby was clean. The King room was spacious with nice amenities (good size closet, safe, luggage bench, lounge chair, desk, good lighting, ironing board, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, and a full body mirror right outside of the bathroom — always convenient for checking your outfit before heading out). Good bathroom toiletries (face soap, bath soap, shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion). Good bath towels. The TV programming is by DirectTV, with no annoying welcome channel, which I like. DirectTV has a very functional and easy to use remote control. The only downfall of the room was the old hvac unit (manual wall unit). It has the dials (no digital thermostat) so you're never quite sure what the temperature is or will be. Also, when the unit kicked on, it was loud. The continental breakfast was decent. Enjoyed the breakfast sandwich bar where you could make your own bacon and egg biscuit. The breakfast area was spacious.

The beds were comfortable. The rooms were huge and had good breakfast. It is cheap to stay at, only $61! I would recommend if you are traveling by.

I was there for business meetings over 2 days. The staff was quite accommodating. All employees were very cordial and attentative. The lunch we were served was better than we would have received at any restaurant. We went out for dinners. Wi-Fi was not easily accessible as they thought we never were able to connect to it. Rooms were very nice, note to self, they should check under the beds. We had a push pop under ours. Breakfast was fresh and filling. We had no issues and it was a really nice stay.

The location was easy to access from the interstate. The hotel has a nice view of the valley below and is private. There is a nice plaza with restaurants and a number of other businesses. The rooms were clean and well supplied. It was quiet and the experience was enjoyable.

Modern looking rooms, comfy bed, clean shower, extended breakfast, workout area and indoor pool. What's not to like. And also, decent coffee.

There for conference & 2 overnights. Really, really slow Wi-Fi. Painfully slow. Coffee & drinking cups in the breakfast area we're extraordinary small. Cookies & popcorn available at check-in is a thoughtful touch. Staff is friendly and rooms were clean. Close to interstate & several restaurants & convenience store.

Thank goodness I got it on express deals for 46 bux… I would be mad if id paid full retail almost double and expected wingate quality.

Love the rooms! Ths staff works diligently to meet my expectations. The only downer to my stay was that the hot tub was out of commission. But all in all the breakfast was great and the hotel is surrunded by different places to go for morning noon or night adventures. Would definitely stay again.

Disappointed. The pool was nasty looking and my kids wouldn't even get in it. I only came here because of the indoor pool and the hot tub, which is out of order. The 1st room was smelly as if it had been smoked in. The good thing was I was allowed to switch to a room with a jaccuzzi tub. I thought that was nice of the staff until we entered the room and it had a stale stench. The tub was dirty and definitely needed cleaning so we avoided it altogether. I was disgusted by the dust and spider webs in the corners of the room which shows tell tale signs of non cleaning. Sorry but this place was a huge disappointment for me and my family.

Checked in at midnight. They had my husband in one room and myself in another, instead of adding another night they added another room, it was not a good check in.
The 1st room we were evenually assigned, was not cleaned properly, smelled of a damp dog, hair in the sink, dirty boot prints on the bathroom floor and never been vaccumed.
Went back to check in, changed our room. This next room was a little better, but the bed sheets kept coming off the bed, housekeeping the next day told us it was the incorrect sheets for the bed, they are our roll away bed sheets. Ugghh. It felt like sleeping on box springs.
Checking out at 10 am, we waited and waited and waited for the guy to finish making his breakfast at the continental breakfast bar. Very short staffed. I don't foresee another visit at Wingate, Bridgeport, WV.

More vegan options at breakfast would be nice, but there are at least some.

Well let's see… The lampshade was busted the one lamp didn't even work the bathroom lights would shut off after being on for 30 minutes the hot tub wasn't working the pool pump wasn't on the bathroom fan wasn't working the tub would fill with water when you took a shower the hotel looked to be falling apart and there was leaks in the ceiling downstairs in the breakfast area oh and not to mention I found a stain on the one towel before I even used it it looked like poop.

1. Sheets and towels were clean. 2. Water either had too much water softener or not enough. The water in the sink and shower was 'oily' feeling after using (without the use of soap). And, the water created a foam in the sink (without soap). 3. Smelled of cigarettes in public areas. 4. Coffee machine in the breakfast was out of order. Management could have gotten boxes of joe from dunkin donuts less than half a mile from the hotel. 5. Breakfast breads were all stale. 6. Bubble tub was still out of order. 7. Used bottle of water left in the room's refrigerator. 8. Light just inside the room was out.

I had a very bad experience in this hotel. Arrived late at 9pm-ish on July 8, and got checked in fast. Stayed for only one night. But woke up in the morning with some tiny ichty spots. Asked the front desk, but they didn't say anything about what it might be and how we should manage it. The spots got more and some got swollen as we scratched. Called the hotel again, but didn't get any concrete answer. Was told possibly fleabites. If the manager responds positively later on, I will update here.

It is clean but could tell it was a older Wingate hot tub was out of order when we stayed, they had a good breakfast and had variety of items overall a good place to stay for the price.

Nice rooms. Few minor issues that they promptly attended to right away.

A better-than-average room at a fair price. Some of the furnishings are showing their age; but for the most part, the hotel is well-maintained. Hotel is located near the interstate (I-79), and there are several chain-type restaurants nearby. The hotel is attached to a large convention center, which could be useful for those who enjoy… convening. Wingate is a middle tier Wyndam property, and the owners and staff make the effort to maintain the standard in order to fly the flag.

Very clean rooms nice hot breakfast and pool. But avoid the pull out sleeper sofas in the king rooms the springs are terrible thats all you could feel, no cushion left. So no sleep for those on that bed. Otherwise very nice place and staff.

Awesome! Great deal and awesome service. Wonderful rooms, very clean. Would stay again. I put this into my favorites.

Rooms are clean but showing age. Stayed two nights and each night the AC stopped working causing it to be hot each morning. Bathroom light burnt out but was quickly replaced. In a very convent location with many food choices close by.

We stay here when we can just to get away and relax. It has always been presentable, smells clean, non-smoking rooms are "really" free of odor, beds are very comfortable (love) the soft pillows, staff is polite and the breakfast area is clean and promptly stocked. (Great coffee, and Earl Grey Tea! ) I would highly recommend this location to all… Thanks, to all who work hard to keep us coming back!
