No parking lot monitors. And for such a busy hotel someone still managed to break my car door by trying to break in. Told front desk and all I got was a blank stare… not even an apology. I expect way more from Hilton.

Front desk supervisor Kayla gave awful customer service. Wrong room type given, told they it was fully booked. Broken AC. Then when fixed, screaming AC.

Two stars and I think I'm been generous. In the short time we stayed, the service was horrible. To get extra towels, because we had to use our room towels because there was none at the pool, it was an ordeal. We asked the front desk and was told that they will take some to us, which it never happend. Went in person to front desk and said the same thing. Well, we never got the towels and next morning we woke up to our truck been broken into. Hotel saying they were not responsible even though their parking lot is fenced, they said they will file a report but was not sure if we would get compensated for the damage and stolen items.

The hotel itself is decent and the staff is fine, but it's straight up in the ghetto. I paid for 3 nights and left after 1. I came in from out of town around 2AM and was gone by 9. I could not get a refund for my other 2 days, but that was not the hotel's fault. I did not feel comfortable here at a all due to the bad neighborhood it's in.

What an amazing place to stay. We had some special guests coming in town to do a workshop for the girls of Girl Action. They stayed at the Hilton Houston Galleria Area, and felt very well cared for. They loved the location, they loved their beds and their rooms. The patio was a perfect retreat. Can't say enough good things about this place.

By far the worst hotel stay I’ve ever experienced. Pool was closed due to renovation. Would have been nice knowing that as that was a major plus while traveling with three small kids. None of the elevators worked. The rooms look nothing like the images online. Rude front desk staff. I was extremely anxious to leave this hotel. Needless to say, will never stay at a Hilton after this experience.

So disappointed! Hilton does not live up to its name! Had a reservation for 2 queen beds tried to put us (4) people in a room clearly made for 2 people. Called down & they said they’d send up pillows & blankets! Ummm, no our children are not sleeping on a hotel floor! HORRIBLE! They can’t guarantee any reservation when it made through a 3rd party! Karen was the CSR when we checked in & clearly saw our party of 4 checking in! Thanks for wasting our time as well as your time! Finally got a room w/ 2 double beds. Again, this is not what we wanted but what are we suppose to do after booking several months in advanced & driving 11 hours! No one told us of the $100.00 down payment on our CC either! & all of the elevators aren’t working! WTH, Hilton get your stuff together! Who remodels a pool in the middle of July when TX temps are 100+? Poor planning Hilton. Waiting for a response from management? Probably won’t get anything!

My company is paying for my stay however upon arrival they asked for my credit card for incidentals. I am used to providing a cars, but Hilton actually charged my card $200 and said I would be reimbursed upon check out. They told me if I ordered room service it would come out of that fee. Instead upon ordering room service, the total was $23. So instead of it coming out of my incidentals my card was charged an additional $73. When I inquired at the front desk they stated that I was charged for the room service as well as an additional $50 worth of incidentals. So right now I've only spent $23, but have $273 showing as pending on my credit card so if I had wanted to use my credit card for anything or emergency while out here I'm going to be in a bind! There is also no breakfast included. Breakfast buffet is an extra $16.99 per day per person. And if you want the standard continental breakfast it is $12.99 per day per person!

The only positive thing I can say about this place is that the staff was wonderful upon check-in. Other than that, the stay did not live up to my expectations of a Hilton property. For a king room on the executive floor, the room was pretty bare. Mini fridge was barely functional and there was no microwave. Water pressure coming from the shower head was comparable to a leaky plastic bag filled with water. Every night of my 4 night stay, the only parking was almost on the other side of the property and was a long hike to the front entrance. I generally request the emailed receipt upon checkout and didn't notice the $50 in unauthorized charges from the suite shop until I returned home to Tampa. I called the property and requested a refund and was assured their accounting department would handle it. Two weeks later and I'm still out $50 in charges I never made. Overall I am not happy with this Hilton and will avoid staying here in my future travels to the area.

This place is pretty fancyyyyy. They've upgraded their doors/locks to be accessible with your phone. It's pretty cool. I came here as a visitor to hang out with a friend, so I can't say much about their service, but the room he had was pretty standard, and it was kept clean, so I imagine they're up to par with other Hilton locations.

Van at the front desk was very pleasant and she helped me with a problem I had at check in. Very comfortable hotel with a nice up scale feel. Lovely bathroom with great lighting. Will stay again!

This was my first trip to Houston. I regularly stay in Hilton properties. This hotel is not located in the Galleria area, but is some distance away from the galleria and borders some rough neighborhoods, and also is next-door to a strip club, not what I was looking for. My room was average and disappointing for Hilton quality I’m used to. The furnishings were older and the bathroom was tiny. On a positive note, they have remodeled the lobby area and it looks nice, and my bed was comfortable, but overall definitely not the Hilton quality you would expect.

The room I stayed in was HORRIBLE & definitely OVERPRICED! It had a very strong musty odor, I called the front desk about it and nothing was done. I also had specific request when I made my reservations, and they were not made. I would not stay at this hotel AGAIN nor refer anyone to especially for the price. You can definitely find a better hotel to stay at for a lower rate and better quality!

I went there to attend a jewelry exhibit, featuring Indian designs. The exhibit itself was a very small single-party owned Showcase of jewelry. The Hilton was very well-stocked with amenities and staff that were willing to offer different services. I was not exposed to a great deal during my visit there but it seemed like they were very much so on top of their game.

Very nice all very clean and very well served and the waiters very cordially attentive is perfect all.

Overall this hotel is a great place to stay. The staff is super amazing. The front desk staff has outstanding customer service. Housekeeping does an excellent job in cleaning the room. The price of this hotel is very affordable. The hotel itself is an older Hilton property that has been maintained very well. One of the benefits is they do not charge for parking. Many of the properties in the downtown area and galleria area charge for parking which significantly increases the cost of stay. Though this hotel is not in any of the prime areas of Houston; It is right off a main highway. The highway easily and quickly takes you to the gallery area, Museum District, Midtown, and of course downtown. Without traffic you can be in downtown in as little as 15 minutes. In reading some of the reviews I noticed there were some noise complaints however I must say it wasn’t noisy at all. I stayed in a Junior suite facing the highway and on a scale from 0 to 5 (five being loud) I would rank it a 2. The only negative thing to note is the parking area is very dim at night, but the building itself is well lit, and there are two main entrances. If you are looking for a nice, comfortable place to stay that doesn’t charge you to park your car this is the place.

This hotel was one of the best hotels I have stayed in. Customer service was spectacular! Everywhere you turned around it was someone in view for assistance if needed. From the restaurant, to house keeping, maintenance and the front desk. I want yo say everyone did a stellar job, but Omar, Van and Amar were awesome! Manger of house keeping brought necessities right when requested. Thank you! This hotel gets 5 stars for just being customer friendly.

Great place to go stay. And to perform events.

This was a clean hotel with very nice staff. But, it’s in a terrible area. The name is deceptive. Plus the traffic from the freeway is VERY loud. It’s outdated, which isn’t a problem because of how well it’s kept. But, given the terrible surroundings (and the shady hotel next door that has no windows) we win’t stay here again.

Consistent stay everytime. Clean rooms and quiet for a larger hotel. Bar and front desk staff were excellent and went above and beyond for me and other guests.

Very nice staff at front desk, I received text messages asking about the quality of service. Very clean as I expected. Plenty of conference rooms. Very close to stores and restaurants. I was not pleased with the bag you get at check in. It was just 2 waters. You don’t really need a bag for that.

This will be my 4th time staying in this hotel and I absolutely love it. Location is perfect close to the Galleria everything within walking distance restaurants shops ect. The hotel itself is super clean the service is excellent and they have many amenities to offer.

They are beautiful hotels and many atension cozy.

STOLEN WEDDING DRESS Horrible experience that I never thought it would happen at a Hilton hotel. My wedding dress got left in the closet and when we called back it had magically disappear and nobody seems to be able to give us answers of where it went. We have even offer a reward no questions ask and still nothing. We are currently in the middle of a police investigation because things like this should NEVER happen at this type of hotel and we will pursue legally if we have to. I am completely heart broken and dont wish this up on anybody.

An absolutely gorgeous hotel. They hold themselves to very high standards. Amenities are all high quality, rooms are very clean, decorated beautifully, and well light. We loved the view over the busy highway we had. It was fun seeing the lights at night. I would definitely recommend the Hilton Houston Galleria Area.

Our stay was very nice. Recommend! Room and restroom were clean, bed was comfortable, staff was nice and professional. There's a Starbucks inside. There was one thing that bothered me and is that the doors kinda slam. You can hear everyone's door close. I will keep them in mind for my next stay.

Staff was very inviting and helpful. We were there with a large group and the hotel allowed us to eat breakfast one hour early so the entire group could make our event on time. Bathrooms were renovated and inviting. I would recommend that the beds modernized as well.

The hotel is nice and is well located. Unfortunately we stayed in the room almost in front of the elevators and it was imposible to sleep as elevators make noise every time the open and close. Also there were many weddings and events during our stay so the noise at 2 or 3 in the morning from people walking and talking was just to much to make this stay a pleasant one.

Friendly staff and great atmosphere. Weird that the vending machines are on every 3rd floor. Pretty good area, minus harwin to the north and the flashing Vegas sign to the east. Will stay again.

Hotel was easy to find and had lots of available parking, although parking was in an open lot instead of a covered garage. Check-in and check-out was easy and quick, and hospitality was thorough, efficient, and attentive, as well as convenient and easily reachable — they even texted to check in on us multiple times to make sure we had everything we needed. Room service was quick and accurate, and their on-site restaurant was recently priced and the food delicious. The Starbucks on the lobby floor was convenient, as well. Additionally, our room was located as requested — away from stairwells, elevators, and the pool, in a quiet location. The hotel beds and pillows were very comfortable, and the room spotless. The hotel itself was older than expected, but it had been obviously updated and was still very nice, and with a good range of amenities such as a pool, gym, laundry service, ice machines and microwaves, etc. Other than the parking situation making me a little hesitant to leave anything in my automobile because of the hotel location off of 59 near Sharpstown, the experience was very near perfect and the reasonable rates well worth the money spent.

Food was nicely laid out and maintained, staff was friendly, lunch was a nice sandwich buffet and was tasty. Bathrooms were clean and well-maintained. Ample parking.

Very nice ambience-in a quiet area. They need to create more options on their food menu. Their receptionists are nice and helpful. The prices are not bad too.

We really enjoyed our visit. A few problems, but the staff was quick to fix. The Hotel was nice an clean. It had a warm an wonderful environment. Awesome free breakfast! Highly recommend this hotel.

I have stayed here several times in the past without problems. But this past visit was terrible. I can except the fact that a water pipe broke and they had to scramble to fix it. However I tried to get a bite to eat and the little bar area that serves food as well. It was an exercise in frustration. Took an hour to get our order… And that was same with everyone.
When I tried to pay I asked they bill the room. And they had me sign a receipt. Sounds OK right? Wrong. The next day I had a knock on the door from an employee stating if I hadn't been there yet been instructed to lock us out.
He was unable to explain why. I took a look at my bank online and saw the initial charges for the room had hit the card and had been paid with no problem. Same with some other charges that I incurred. So I was little irate.
As it happens I've been waiting on room service to be delivered and when the food arrived I asked the employee if there was some problem. He replied that not that he knew of. But he also said he would investigate for me. He called me when he got downstairs and he talked to his manager.
It turns out that apparently the bar is not supposed to charge room. But instead of trying to contact us or leave a message on the phone, management solution was to try to lock us out of our room. I went down and settled the charge. But asked that I speak to the manager. Conveniently they weren't there. I asked to make sure that someone called me.

The rooms are very clean, tidy, super comfortable. The food is delicious, and we do not mention the breakfast that is still of the best.

Spoilt food and bad service. Okay for a night, wouldn't suggest staying here for more than a night. Housekeeping is non responsive (we had a dirty coffee machine and the housekeeping lady apologized and left, without helping us clean it! ) and service at the restaurant is okay some wait staff are almost rude. I don't blame them this looks like a pretty shady place to work at. Avoid the breakfast buffet. Love the soaps and cleanliness of housekeeping (when they do their rounds). Its not as bad as a motel but I've stayed at better hotels. Suggestion to the management: invest in your housekeeping — teach them English. They may be good at their job but they may be struggling because they don't understand what the customer needs.

This Hilton was very clean and the staff was professional and courteous. The room was presentable and comfortable. I give 4 stars instead of 5 because of miscommunication. My husband and I were told that breakfast was included. When we went downstairs we ended up having to pay for breakfast. Don't get me wrong, the breakfast was great but it would be appreciated to not have unexpected expenses.

I attended a work workshop. I had no objection. Everything was great.

The lounge where my friend had the reception of her wedding was the perfect space for the guests who were. The food was very good and the service excellent. Very clean and all very friendly.

Nice neighborhood friendly an very informative staff (Christian to be specific an she was new) I booked one king room an ended up having guest they moved me to a bigger room no charge no questions asked Hilton galleria area was well worth the money an I will definitely visit again.

The hotel was nice. The AC in our room was loud, and the little cooler/fridge wasn't cold. We got a shuttle ride to and from the Galleria. The ride there was great, and the driver was wonderful. The ride back was horrible. We had a different driver who ran a red light, was speeding, and at red lights was on his phone. My family and I won't stay there again.

The staff is very nice but the $16 breakfast buffet was poor quality and choices. Not eating there again. The rooms are very nice and the air conditioning works well.

I have largely mixed feelings about this hotel. I don't tend to write reviews of hotels, but I feel obligated to share my experience in an outlet such as this. First and foremost, the property itself is quite wonderful. The entire hotel was recently redone. The rooms were spacious and well appointed, and the public areas appeared inviting. One minor complaint would be the size of the bathroom — I don't require much space, but the bathrooms were small even for my standards. Room service was great, albeit the $8.00 hummus was grossly overpriced. The woman that handled my check-in was wonderful and very accommodating. I was immediately recognized as an HHonors Diamond elite. No upgrade was offered even though there was plenty of availability, but that really isn't a big deal. Late at night, as I was walking my parents out of the hotel, I observed an on-duty Hilton employee get into a car and ram into our stationary vehicle at a high velocity. The impact was hard enough where our vehicle moved a significant amount. Again, our vehicle was parked and the whole incident appeared almost intentional. I wanted to inform the hotel immediately, but it was already late at night and I had work very early in the morning. I was planning on sharing my complaints with the associates that would handle my check-out or from the text messages I received from the hotel asking me about my stay.

Excellent staff, clean rooms, tasty food, excellent location.

My wife and I checked into the Hilton for a week long stay. They put us in a small, cramped room, right across the hall from the elevator. I couldn't sleep all night from all the dinging it made. When I finally thought I'd get some sleep in the morning, some guys on a scaffold were pounding away at something right outside the window. I was told I couldn't upgrade the room, because it was supposedly being covered by a third party. However they charged my card for the ridiculous third party rate ($940 for 5 nights in a match box sized room), but told me they had no info from a third party. When I went to check out after one night, they told me I'd have to get with my bank to release the $940 hold on my card. So long story short, they put almost a $1000 hold on my card for one night in a crappy room across from the elevator with construction the next room over, which depleted my extra funds for the trip and ruined my plans. I've had better experiences at Motel 6.

Great clean hotel. Easy to get into and great for meetings. I didn't stay there but I attended an event there. Hotel did not smell and was clean.

My stay was for only a night but it went well. Check in was easy, and the lady at the front desk was very friendly. I believe her name was Maria. My room was nice and the bed was comfortable. Sadly, my only complaint was the toilet in the room. For it to flush, you had to hold the lever down until it was done. It didn't ruin my stay though.

I've stayed a couple times now. It gets the job done. But the real allure is the proximity to some of the best Indian food and shops I've every frequented.

The food is delicious but pricey. The room was great and had a nice view. The conference rooms weren't great. Better for vacationers than businesses.

Business travel brought me here. From the moment I checked in I was skeptical. First thing out of the young lady's mouth was "just so you know, the exterior is under construction". When I asked her what that meant the two ladies working up front just looked at each other and snickered to themselves. Dragged all of my luggage up to my room only to discover key didn't work. Went all the way back down and the front desk issued me another key. Dragged my luggage up to the room, opened the door and was immediately met with a room that smelled like cigarette smoke. Went down to the desk again and they were nice enough to issue me a room right next to the other one. Room didn't smell as bad and I was tired so I began to unpack only to be greeted by the wonderful sound of banging and grinding outside my window on the 5th floor. Apparently the phrase "under construction" meant that they were tearing the exterior of the building! Noise was too much so I had to leave and come back after dark. Tried to settle in and get some rest only to realize I was sleeping next to the Indy 500 speedway. The traffic noise from the freeway was horrible and never stopped-ever! Other than that, room was clean. Lobby also smelled like a bar with all of the smokers drinking at the bar. No towels in exercise room, hot as hell, and half the equipment didn't work right. It's too bad Hilton has decided to leave their name on this old broken down building.

The location was perfect but it is a little far from the airport. The rooms are nice and neat. The service is superb. The employees are super nice and helpful.

They let us book through Expedia and it said breakfast was included but the desk wouldnt let us eat. Couldnt get management to work with us either.

The staff has been extremely friendly and helpful. As far as the rooms, the air conditioning unit is so loud I had to turn it off to be able to sleep, and the bed was pretty solid.

Currently doing reservations. Close to Greenway Plaza and the businesses located there. Otherwise odd location for an upscale hotel.

While under construction — all my necessities were met. Good location to the flea market and nice and clean rooms.

Have you ever heard of the expression don't judge a book by its cover?. Well folks after reading previous reviews on Yelp I almost made the mistake of not booking this hotel. Upon arrival, yes the outside does need work. It is dated, but once you go on the inside the lobby is fantastic. Let's start off with customer service it was awesome. The staff were friendly. They assisted me in every type of way. From previous pictures on Yelp I did notice that a lot of the rooms were dated. But that's no longer the case for a majority of the rooms. I was on the 10th floor and everything was completely remodeled. From the new furniture, new flat screen, new lounge chair and ottoman, new side tables, new fridge, no microwave though. There was even a musical alarm clock by Hilton, new coffee maker, new tile in the bathroom, new fixtures, new carpet, new mirrors, plenty of plug in outlets etc. Although when you're making the reservation sites will say that there's no breakfast available but there is breakfast available and room service so that's a plus because that is the Hilton standard. Downstairs in the bar area everything is brand new. The bar has blue light under the bar, brand new seating. The new lobby area decor is very modern. The new business center has Apple computers! So be on the look out for deals as the Hilton puts their final touches on this location. I was highly impressed & suggest to give this location another chance it's day & night from previous pictures & reviews!

I was there for 8 days on business. It was fantastic! Room service was fast, and the food wonderful! The best part, the staff! The Night manager Van, incredible! She greeted me everyday (after a very long hot day) with a friendly Hello, and calling me by name. When you are alone and away from your family in a strange place, it was comforting to have that. I dreaded this trip when first assigned, but after my stay, with Van and the staff. Can't wait to come back.

The overall hotel was ok but not very memorable. This was definitely just an average hotel with very slow Wi-Fi. VERY slow Wi-Fi.

The rooms are more like a cheap motel. No refrigerator, extremely noisy air conditioner, cheap non-functioning blow dryer. Hot water ran out in late morning, so I got a nice lukewarm bath of yellow water. The view is a horrid sprawl of concrete and highway. I thought the renovations this hotel is currently under would be done in a less obtrusive fashion. However, beginning at 10 am on SUNDAY morning, workers with some very noisy equipment began working. Throughout the entire day, I had to listen to power equipment apparently ripping out walls. The satellite equipment must be really old as well; in the middle of all the noise, I could not even watch tv. In my opinion, Hilton should offer the rooms at this hotel at half rates until the renovations are complete. Guests are paying full Hilton rates to stay in a noisy motel-like atmosphere. This coming from a Hilton Honors member who stay at Hilton frequently. The saving grace was the restaurant, which served very good, fresh food — and the wait staff, who were unfailingly polite and friendly.

I will say the service staff that I dealt with were friendly, however — The rooms as everyone has stated are dated and have a dingy ambiance. I was woken at 3:30 am because of a fire in the parking lot and notified to evacuate my room. I had to wait in the lobby and I wasn't able to get accommodations until 5:30am, after which I was woken up at 7am due to a jackhammer being used on the first floor (renovations). I didn't get much sleep at all. Later that day my key card no longer worked on the replacement room I was given. Once that was resolved, the next morning my room had no hot water. I also had a shirt that was supposed to be cleaned (and I was charged for it) and the shirt was never returned to me. The hotel manager promised my room to be comped, nothing at all was done. Terrible experience. Would give negative stars if it were possible.

The people in this hotel are fantastic. The breakfast and evening cocktail hour is very nice. Yes, you will find the random moment as we should all expect. I travel 47 weeks out of the year and have been coming here for the past 16 weeks. However, the hotel is extremely old which shows. The internet and television service is randomly poor at best, which makes late night working very difficult. There are a lot of plumbing issues which normally just make a lot of noise or a random cold shower. They are currently moving through a renovation so I look forward to the transformation. But I will say it again that a hotel starts and ends with it's people and they are a great team.

We just completed a retreat with over 400 people this past weekend and the Hilton Houston Southwest hotel and staff were exceptional. They took care of every detail and the entire staff was kind, curious, and helpful during our entire weekend event. Looking forward to setting a date for our next event here.

Nice hotel with a very good overall experience. The employees are kind and courteous. Rooms are dated with to few wall plugs. Menu is old and needs to be updated at least every 3 months. They are to start renovations before the year is out. When done I'm certain I will move it up a star.

Hhonors member reservation was for King. Checked in late called to let then know but still have away my king ended up with two double beds. Not cool last time at the hotel garden inns so much better.

Good location, nice conference facility, adequate rooms. This hotel is rather dated, and has need of renovation, but otherwise, it is a very well located, service oriented place. The staff does a good job, and all is clean and well kept.

Would have rated 0 star if I can. Horrible customer service, manager looks racism and everything a supervisor shouldn't be. And pretty much they lure the business, told me that we can have one (group) rate on the phone when check out and no one will honor it when you are actually there, and they will tell u that's your problem, of course because they already got the money right lol. How can a lion spit out the meats that they have already chewed on. All of us have put trust in what the sales representatives say when we were booking with them right? now they want physical evidence, oh thats funny, so should I have recorded the phone call when I was booking the hotel instead of them? STRONGLY suggest everyone take your money elsewhere, otherwise if you have ANY problem with them, be prepared to go through hell. this is the WORST hotel experience ever and a waste of money and time.

Have you ever felt helpless about the hotel you stayed in? We had. Miracle how did this place get a rating of 3.2 stars with such horrible, inpatient, and rude management and credibility. When we were checking out, managers wouldn't honor the group rate that they have promised when booking on the phone. And claimed that no sales representative was trained that way, oh dear did Hilton train you to be so rude and racism? gave us all kinds of excuses like we booked after cut off date (a suddenly jumped-out-date which none of us was informed of). Is Hilton aware of that not everyone is hotel management major, why do they expect the general customers like you and me to know whats going on with the internal details when booking and feel its ok not to inform their customers? How come the customers were being understanding and polite and the manager started to act like he is pissed. For God's sake, we were paying the extra fee you charged us for no reason! Suggest ANYONE who doesn't want any trouble, especially the groups managers, take your business somewhere else. And hilton surely is letting one hotel to bring down their reputation here in southwest.

I will never stay in this hotel. The people there don't have any credibility. They cheated me. I called the sales person to book the hotel with the group rate which my group negotiated. The sales person told me to book with the regular rate and the hotel will charge me the group rate when I check out. When I checked out, they refused to give me the group rate. I called Hilton many times to resolve the issue but they refused to. I think I have to file a lawsuit. I had a really bad experience. Don't do any business with them.
